Text message delay - Amazon Fire Phone

Has anyone else had any issues with text messages sending and receiving with significant delay? I will check the phone in the morning and it will show no notifications. If I text someone or call someone I will immediately get a backlog of text messages/ voicemail notifications, the time stamp on the text messages will be as if I received them regularly without delay.

Probably phone issue, cuz it's getting old, that's what happened to my old phone or the phone service is having a major lag issue.

I don't know about texts, but several forum users at Amazon reported a problem with voicemail notifications. See this post from Nobody, on how you may be able to resolve the notifications problem.

delays
I had the same problem and I just unistalled facebook from google playstore and installed it from amazon and texts work fine now. Some apps from google interfere with amazon.

[Q] Can't receive calls or text

Hi,
A couple of days ago my phone stopped receiving calls, voicemail alerts, and text messages. I can still call out and text people, but only when I check my voicemail are the text messages are finally pushed down and my voicemail notification is finally received. I have Froyo OTA and it's rooted so I can run setcpu, but nothing special other than that. I haven't done anything in the last couple of days except install wordfeud and dominoes. Anyone know what might be causing this? I'm hoping for a quicker easier fix than talking to verizon and possibly sending it off for repair.
Thanks!
Mike

[Q] Text message problem...help

So I seem to have a messaging problem I cannot figure out. I can't pinpoint exactly when it started happening but it was around the time I installed CM7 RC1 or nightly 38...
I only get my messages in bunches some time after they are sent. Its like after a while multiple texts get pushed through, just not when they were sent from the person. Sometimes i get multiple texts in the wrong order. I've also figured out the only way to get the texts to come through is when i call someone. Once i call someone, multiple texts push through.....really strange
Its like the phone has to actively access the network before is receives text messages...
I have no clue what this could be, any suggestions
Similar issue
I loaded the same Rom but it appears if I send out a txt with multiple recipients only one recipient gets it.

Fix for No Voicemail Notifications or Visual Voicemail

The problem I've been having seems to have been asked a lot of times in several forums, but rarely answered directly. It had nothing to do with Google Voice, the ROM (I use SRF 1.2). I had to look through so many of these before FINALLY finding the very easy answer so I thought I'd post it here in case it helps someone else.
The issue is that I started receiving a weird text message from Sprint indicating, "...has sent you a Sprint Voice Message. Call 408-970-0000 to listen...". I wasn't receiving any voicemail notification, though, and voicemails weren't showing up in Visual Voicemail. When I finally called into voicemail, I realized I had several waiting for me -- ones I never realized I had because there was no notification!
What it turns out is that this problem is apparently almost always caused by changing the SMS application. In my case, I had installed Handcent. To fix this in Handcent, just go to menu->settings->Application Settings->Default Messaging application, and select "Disable". (In my case it was set to SMS.)
After I made that change, all of a sudden I started receiving notifications, all of my older messages finally appeared in Visual Voicemail, and I stopped receiving those strange Sprint texts.
If you use GO SMS, I understand there is a similar way to disable setting the GO SMS as default as well.

Yeah, I'm using GoSMS Pro for text messages and was getting the exact same thing with the same 408 number. I backed up my texts and settings and un-installed GoSMS, rebooted the phone, but still had to "call in" to voicemail (old school voicemail, not visual) but I think from here on out, I should get visual voicemail normally again. We'll see.
Thanks for posting!

SMS Disappearance

Hello
So I have experienced my first "bug" with my GN (or maybe it's ICS?)
I was browsing in chrome when I noticed at the bottom it said "message received" in an overlay. As you do when you get a message while using the phone.
What didn't happen was it didn't scroll through the message at the top of the screen in the status bar. I thought it was a bit weird. So I opened my messages and nothing new was there. It didnt make any sound either, so I thought I was crazy and moved on.
As I was having a conversation with my partner at the time, she messaged me a few mins later wondering what my response was and I told her I didn't receive anything at all.
This is quite concerning. The phone most definitely recognised I got a message but it didn't show up. She said she sent 2 messages. Has anyone else experienced something similar?
We're both on the same network if its even possible this could be a carrier issue.
The "message received by <phone number>" toast message at the bottom of the screen is the other party receiving one of your messages. You turn this on in Messaging > Settings > Delivery reports. This will show next to the time stamp of every sent message in a thread the SMS icon with a green check mark over it whenever the message is confirmed to be received by the other party
You not receiving messages is a different issue. Try installing something like "Ghostly SMS" to see if your phone is losing SMS messages. I haven't heard of this as an issue in ICS yet.

[Q] Not receiving text messages

I had a couple of people text me today and I did not receive a single one of them. I went ahead and hit the update profile button and I started receiving texts again. Has anyone else ever had a problem like this on their note 2. Should I be updated my profile on a daily basis just to insure that I will receive texts for that day or is there a bigger underlying problem?

I've had the same problem with outgoing SMS, but not the incoming. Power cycling the phone let all the outgoing SMSs finally send.
