[Q] Text message problem...help - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I seem to have a messaging problem I cannot figure out. I can't pinpoint exactly when it started happening but it was around the time I installed CM7 RC1 or nightly 38...
I only get my messages in bunches some time after they are sent. Its like after a while multiple texts get pushed through, just not when they were sent from the person. Sometimes i get multiple texts in the wrong order. I've also figured out the only way to get the texts to come through is when i call someone. Once i call someone, multiple texts push through.....really strange
Its like the phone has to actively access the network before is receives text messages...
I have no clue what this could be, any suggestions

Similar issue
I loaded the same Rom but it appears if I send out a txt with multiple recipients only one recipient gets it.

in before... "this is in the wrong forum, learn to post in the right forum"
But try *228, updating the PRL, if not try reinstalling. If it still stays like that, go back to a stock 2.2 and then re root and go from there.

If you are using Google Voice, try clearing cache and data from "manage apps" < "All". If it persists check your GV setup, and check on your PC if you are seeing the same symptoms in your GV inbox.

[Q] Outgoing SMS not being received.

I'm having a weird problem with 2-3 people in my contact list never getting any of my text messages. I've tried flashing over many other roms and sprint even 'reset the device' remotely, to which nothing helped. Anyone ever run into this? Also, this problem doesn't seem to be on their end - as they can send me SMS just fine.
this is strange. now i'm only getting texts when i place a phone call, like 10-20 are coming in at once.

[Q] Can't send message right now. Too many many unsent multimedia messages

The thread title is the error I'm getting. This, from what I can tell, is not the wifi issue.
I'm stock, rooted and I use GoSMS.
I have noticed recently that when I try to send a picture message that is the large clear resolution that is shows up pending for a long time and eventually wont send, probably due to it's large size. To resolve this, I have started doing the smallest resolution, and thus smallest size when I know I'm going to be sending it to someone.
This works to make sure it get sent, if it decides it can. I get the "Can't send message right now. Too many many unsent multimedia messages" To try and fix it I close GoSMS and all other apps, but usually it takes a reboot to get it to go through. There shouldn't be any messages trying to send, as they will usually give an error saying the message couldn't be sent. I don't like to delete messages so I have one thread with 8000+ messages, mix of sms and mms, so going through and deleting all of the sent messages isn't really an option.
I cannot replicate the problem right now to test and see if using the stock messaging app would fix the problem.
Is there some folder or something that stores the pending outgoing messages that I could look at and see the "unsent multimedia messages" are that cause this error?
Is there some other underlying issue, some kind of buffer, relationship between received mms and sending, or anything else like this?
Any help would be appreciated.

Won't Send SMS

Ever since I have had this LG G3, it seems for no reason at all, at times, it will sit there and spin saying "sending" when I send a text. Happens sometimes when sending email as well using LG's built-in email. Tried rebooting, turning on or off wifi, have a good LTE connection at the time, but no dice. Just sits and spins saying sending. And usually eventually fails sending. Other times it sends immediately. I never know if I hit send if the SMS is going to be sent or not. It's quite frustrating. My wife and I are on the same provider (Rogers) and when this happens with my phone, I grab her Note 4, try sending out a text and boom, instantly sent.
I'm running stock 5.0.1. Two mods, CTT and Trickster. I have checked APN's and they are identical to my wife's Note 4.
Does anyone have any idea what else I could try to make the SMS and email sending more reliable?
Another strange thing. The stock messaging app doesn't show any messages. I have deleted them all. I installed Textra to see if sending messages was any better and there are about 10 voice mail message texts sitting in there. These are the notification I get when I get a voice mail. I had called Rogers before and asked if I could turn these redundant text messages off and they said I didn't have that option set on my account?? Not sure where they are coming from then. I do get the voice mail icon notification as well when I get a voice mail.
I deleted all of the messages, closed Textra and reopened, only to find all the texts had returned. WTF? I deleted them again, same thing. Tried cleaning cache and data for both the stock messaging app as well as Textra, same problem. Perhaps these messages are interfering some how with sending/receiving texts? I changed my phone number on this phone recently as I was getting a bunch of non-wanted calls and thus all these voice mails. Could these be left over from the previous number? Not sure why I can't delete them permanently. Man, what a pain.

Text message delay

Has anyone else had any issues with text messages sending and receiving with significant delay? I will check the phone in the morning and it will show no notifications. If I text someone or call someone I will immediately get a backlog of text messages/ voicemail notifications, the time stamp on the text messages will be as if I received them regularly without delay.
Probably phone issue, cuz it's getting old, that's what happened to my old phone or the phone service is having a major lag issue.

I don't know about texts, but several forum users at Amazon reported a problem with voicemail notifications. See this post from Nobody, on how you may be able to resolve the notifications problem.
delays
I had the same problem and I just unistalled facebook from google playstore and installed it from amazon and texts work fine now. Some apps from google interfere with amazon.
