Changing lock screen shortcuts when full-device encryption and smartlock are enabled - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have enabled FDE on my G4. This makes it impossible to switch back to swipe or any other lock screen type that would allow me to change apps shortcuts on said lock screen. That's ok if you always have the PIN code keypad displayed on the lock screen but if Smart Lock is enabled and there is no need to enter a PIN, the default lock screen and apps shortcuts are shown. I can't modify these since the settings app considers that it is not relevant to my screen lock type and doesn't show the Shortcuts option.
Is there any way to launch the lock screen apps shortcut activity manually?

Yes!
Change the screen lock to Swipe. This is the only way it'll show the shortcuts option!
After you set the shortcuts, set the pattern or any other unlock method again, and the shortcuts will stay
Nevermind. Just read you can't change to swipe.
Oops.
You need to launch a specific activity of the lock screen settings app. I used Tasker and the Secure Settings plugin. The app name is 'Lock Screen Settings' (not 'com.lge.provider.lockscreensettings'). The activity is called '[Shortcuts].ThemeSetting'. Launching that will open the screen where you can edit the shortcuts.

Try this:
- disable smart lock completly and choose swype as unlock option
- go out of settings
- enter settings again and go to "lock screen"
now there should be the option to edit the shortcuts. After that just enable smartlock again. I remember that i did it like that but i don't have a FDE.

I use Co0kie's Home Tab (CHT) and use that lock (which has music player controls as well), so can't remember how to do it without (and not sure if can be disabled in 6.5, although CHT gives you the option), but try: Settings > Menu > All settings > and uncheck "prompt if used for". Probably does not work and/or you've already tried it so sorry if it is patronisingly obvious!
Disable default Lock screen This is something from Jackos W6.5 Roms. Great Rom, but he also suggests disabling this, and using a different lock screen. I use S2U after running this. No double lock now.

My lockscreen has always been disabled and after installing S2U2 I had zero problems with double lock. I would just like to be able to make it the default so that when I press the button I get it instead of the WinMo lockscreen.
Maximize widgets in lock screen with pattern enabled
I have pattern lock screen enabled with widgets. I installed gravitybox and enabled the option to maximize widgets and hide pattern dots until touch. But it does not work. Have anyone get it to work in any way? Thanks

Is it possible to remove the shortcuts on the lock screen? Extremely annoying when you launch apps instead of unlock your phone.
You know you don't have to touch the lock icon right? You can literally swipe the very top of screen to unlock.

Click to collapse In order to change the lock screen, you need to change the apps on the Sense home screen bar. I just tested. Delete the apps from the bar at the bottom of the Sense Home screen and that will remove them from the lock screen.

With the G2 you could swipe up from the button and acces quickmemo. There's only a google search option with the G4, any way to change this?

Click to collapse Not that I've found. there are two other good options: 1) Add QuickMemo+ to your quick shortcuts in the notification panel 2) add a shortcut to your lock screen
This should work. Settings > Apps > (Menu) Reset Default Apps Clear whichever one it is, and redo the action and you should get an option to reassign + some other options Mine gives me the option to call out a tasker task or greenify screen off+lock which is what I do so i can turn the screenoff even from a full screen app without using the button on the back.
Lock screen problem
Hi everyone, Huawei is no longer allowing to use custom launchers (Nova in my case) without activating the default lock screen (PIN)?? It's showing the message that only default launcher can be used if I disable the default lock screen. Is there a way to bypass this? I want to use Nova Launcher and Next lock screen. But then the Face ID and Finger Print unlocks don't work. I'm forced to enter the PIN. Thx..
