How to disable default lock screen - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

As the title says I m looking for a way to disable the default lock screen. I use s2u2 but all ways get double locked and its just freaking annoying. So if any one can tell me how to disable the default lock screen that would be much appreciated.
Thanks

I don't have this problem, but I'd like to know how to assign the long press of the right phone key to access the S2U2 lock instead of the stock lock screen.

You own an lg incite before?
Use RhodiumHardwareKeyRemapper. Just do a search on here for it.

Depends on your type of rhodium and ROM, I suppose. I use Co0kie's Home Tab (CHT) and use that lock (which has music player controls as well), so can't remember how to do it without (and not sure if can be disabled in 6.5, although CHT gives you the option), but try:
Settings > Menu > All settings > and uncheck "prompt if used for".
Probably does not work and/or you've already tried it so sorry if it is patronisingly obvious!

Disable default Lock screen
This is something from Jackos W6.5 Roms. Great Rom, but he also suggests disabling this, and using a different lock screen. I use S2U after running this. No double lock now.

Will this allow S2U2 to be the lockscreen when you hold the right phone button down? My lockscreen has always been disabled and after installing S2U2 I had zero problems with double lock. I would just like to be able to make it the default so that when I press the button I get it instead of the WinMo lockscreen.

Standby button + Lock?

Hey Guys,
Just got my htc tilt 2 and im in love with it. I just wanted to know if there was anyway I can set it to lock my phone when I hit the standby/power button. Thanks for the help
There use to be a setting in the advanced configuration tool that allowed this,,,,,,,,,, or was it in diamondtweak. If it isnt in one of those you could use s2u2
S2U2 will do what you want. But it's a resource hog.
I suggest LockDevice found at the below link. It uses zero resources if you set it to lock on wake. (It uses a just a couple kb if you set it to lock on screen off).

[Q] Custom Lockscreen unlock

Hi guys i would like to know if there is a way to unlock htc one x just by sliding on the three buttons on the screen. By the way im using viper x rom 3.4.2, i've noticed there is a slide2unlock feature in venom tweaks but it only wakes the display basically its like pressing the power button and it doesn't unlock the phone.
Some roms have swipe/slide to unlock which is what you're looking for rather than swipe to wake, which would probably be the kernel, I can't remember which ones though...If you have lyapota's mod you can set longpress home to unlock, if that's any use

it actually has an option slide2unlock but it only wakes the phone up and it doesn't unlock it, the phone behaves just like when i click on the power button, which is of no use.. It would be way cooler if i could just slide/swipe and unlock the phone
Go to lockscreen settings and select no lockscreen. (on AOSP it works like that)
One possibility is to rename /system/app/htclockscreen.apk (or similar) to htclockscreen.bak. That way the lockscreen should be gone but I don't know how it would affect receiving calls.

Changing lock screen shortcuts when full-device encryption and smartlock are enabled

Hi,
I have enabled FDE on my G4. This makes it impossible to switch back to swipe or any other lock screen type that would allow me to change apps shortcuts on said lock screen. That's ok if you always have the PIN code keypad displayed on the lock screen but if Smart Lock is enabled and there is no need to enter a PIN, the default lock screen and apps shortcuts are shown. I can't modify these since the settings app considers that it is not relevant to my screen lock type and doesn't show the Shortcuts option.
Is there any way to launch the lock screen apps shortcut activity manually?
Thanks,
Yes!
Change the screen lock to Swipe. This is the only way it'll show the shortcuts option!
After you set the shortcuts, set the pattern or any other unlock method again, and the shortcuts will stay
Nevermind. Just read you can't change to swipe.
Oops.
You need to launch a specific activity of the lock screen settings app. I used Tasker and the Secure Settings plugin. The app name is 'Lock Screen Settings' (not 'com.lge.provider.lockscreensettings'). The activity is called '[Shortcuts].ThemeSetting'. Launching that will open the screen where you can edit the shortcuts.

Same problem here, thanks for the tip. For me secure settings complains that it doesn't have permissions.
Are you rooted?

Try this:
- disable smart lock completly and choose swype as unlock option
- go out of settings
- enter settings again and go to "lock screen"
now there should be the option to edit the shortcuts. After that just enable smartlock again. I remember that i did it like that but i don't have a FDE.

turn screen off widget?

On my m7 (I used ported m9 rom) there was a widget called screen lock that was simply turning (and locking) screen off so I did not have to inconvenience myself by pressing power button.
Now I have HTC 10 and cannot find anything like this. I even I tried few different apps from Google Play but none of them worked OK with finger print scanner.
Is this just me being blind and stupid or there is no such a widget for HTC 10?

might want to try the elemental X or elite kernels, they both have swipe2sleep. you swipe certain area of screen and it shuts down the screen
cleanslate kernel has double tap fingerprint to shut down screen
You can also remap capacitive keys to perform various functions flashing Xposed framework and GravityBox. I mapped my 'back' key to put my phone to sleep with a long press.

The 10 has double tap to sleep built in, is that not enough?
Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
Double tap to sleep works only from locked screen? Tried double tap on free space on my home screen and nothing happens. At least on my phone. So it not enough. In fact I think it's completely useless as I would have to lock screen first then double tap to turn screen off. Or am I misunderstanding something?
I do not want to root or flash custom rom, not yet at least. I was hoping there is going to be less "invasive" way to do it.

Coming from the M9 here, they allowed you to configure the 4th button to lock the screen. The screen lock widget works for me, but the unlock was strange (don't recall how), so I stopped using it. Now I just set it for 15 second timeout and it locks itself.
One of the few things I don't like about the 10. The other is that I can't configure the "quick keys" that swipe down from the top of the screen.
I use both Nova launcher gesture, and greenify widget to turn screen off, but, you can't use fingerprint scanner to unlock, you need to unlock using pin/pattern

You can, if you are rooted and have Tasker or a similar app installed.
You just set up the Nova gesture to run the Tasker shell command (with root privileges):
Code:
input keyevent 26
I have double tap to sleep and a long press of the home button to sleep set up. I only have to use my fingerprint to wake and unlock the device.
Theres one app that can achieve this without root on stock rom. Its called Screen Lock Pro. Its the only app i found that supports smart lock on marshmallow.
What that means? On all other screen off and lock apps ive tried i had to enter my pin instead of being able to use my fingerprint to unlock. The reader was locked every time. With Screen Lock Pro and the option "Smart lock and Nexus imprint" in settings activated i can turn off my 10 with a tap on an icon (homescreen) OR by pressing and holding the home button (i replaced google now on tap with Screen Lock Pro).
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.iglint.android.screenlockpro&hl=de
Sadly its not for free, but you can try out the app and return it (refund) if you dont like it.

Sorry, forgot to mention this, you have to use the app "home launcher" and set it to launch screen lock pro. Home launcher can be set as the "help app" when you long press the home button. It replaces Google now then.

Sorry again, missed something in the name, the app is called "home button launcher". Search for it in the play store, youll find it. It has a rocket in its icon.
Once installed you have to navigate to the following menu:
Settins -> Apps -> the three dots top right -> configure apps -> standard apps -> Help and voice input -> help app
This should be set to the google app. Change it to home button launcher...when you long press the home button now it launches the app. Now just configure home button launcher with screen lock pro (remove all apps in the list except screen lock pro). Now go into settings from home button launcher and check the box "auto start mode if only one app selected". Youre good to go.
P.S. I had to translate the menus, since im on a german device, hopefully its not to far off from reality
When you read the reviews of screen lock pro it turns out it only darkens screen to maximum and then waits for time out to lock the screen, apparently it's easily visible when it's dark as backlight is still visible.
Good effort, kudos to devs but I read there is a problem when trying to unlock phone before the timeout locks the phone. Most of the times this will not be a problem but just wanted to highlight the side-effect of this solution.
I think I will live with default settings, and keep pressing power button, until I root phone / someone finds a way to do proper screen lock working with fingerprint.

Is double tap to turn off screen possible

As the title suggests is it possible to double tap on empty area of Home Screen to turn the phone off just like we use Double tap to wake the phone.
This was an inbuilt feature on Asus Zenfone 5z and seems counter intutive to have only one option to turn the screen on and not off here.
Regards
One option; with Nova launcher
Yes, likely via custom ROMs.
Also, probably via custom launchers. Nova Prime allows double-tap to "lock screen". Double tap to "screen off" very likely via a specific 'Nova activities' option but I haven't figured this out yet.
EdXposed ---> install GravityBox ---> it's then possible to turn screen off via double-tap on lock screen or via double-tap on status bar.

You can use edge screen. SoftKey Edge. There is a lock option. It is not double tap but it works.
you can add the screen off icon at navigation bar with a samsung app called Navstar, with that you can single tap to turn off the screen
Good Lock - Navstar adds a navigation button to turn the screen off

I dont see any gestures for that in nova launcher?
You must have the prime license, in gestures&inputs there are multiple options to choose from, for each gesture you can choose any action available, you can even have the same action assigned to multiple gestures, I use one finger down to lock, and also double tap to lock

As i already have Nova prime, this worked perfectly. Thanks.
Nice just learned something new. Used nova star and added screen off and notification bar button. Now I have 5 buttons readily available.
Wish you could open and app with a button. That way I can reserve the power double tap for another app.

Feeling seriously numb right now. I've used Nova (Prime) for years, and never knew that was there. Searched all over for a good program to sleep/ lock. Found a very simply one (Screen Lock Widget 1.0) which is no longer available, but I have. Works great. No resources used. But having the ability in Nova is great.
So.....thank you for sharing that. It's the simple things in life.
It makes no sense why Samsung would give us the means to tap awake our screen but not add that option to turn it off.
That was a weird decision for not including double tap to sleep. It's like making an automatic car with clutch where the clutch is only used for the reverse lol.
Anyhow, this is by far the best app on the playstore that can put the phone sleep and still use the default One UI.
The nice thing about it is that you can also tap on the status bar to put the phone to sleep while using an app for instance.
Tripe tap on the home screen is recommended though, you'll understand why after using it for a while

I just tried Nav Star app from within Good Lock (From Samsung App store) and added 2 extra buttons.
Thanks to the user who recommended it earlier, now I can turn off phone as well pullbdown notification bar from the Navigation bar, if I can get used to these extra buttons I might as well keep them.
Yes software wise they do need to improve a lot of things here.
1. First Install Good Lock :
http://apps.samsung.com/appquery/appDetail.as?appId=com.samsung.android.goodlock
2. Then Install Nav Star : http://apps.samsung.com/appquery/appDetail.as?appId=com.samsung.systemui.navillera
Well, very useful indeed, but I prefer hiding the nav bar, just to avoid screen burn in and to get some more screen area
