Hi guys, as requested by a @suzook that tested it, i succesfully built a kernel for the huawei watch with autoroot and busybox.
If you are interested i can publish it but i have to upload the source to github first.

I would just post it in development section. You have your creds.

Just for my information what are the benefits into rooting a wearable device?

Don't think by me. I don't own the device, sorry.

So I think I found a reason to have root access. The app Advanced Settings can supposedly adjust the vibration with root access.

Per the app, it is set at 80% stock. Does it feel at lot stronger at 100%?

Definitely want this!

i must have,..pleaseeeeeee
Please post the Kernel,..and a HOW-TO
thank you so much,
regards

Very interesting indeed.

Any change to the display driver settings to see if the red tint issue it's software addressable?

@Skin1980 I installed your kernel and the app Advanced Settings to change the vibration intensity. But no matter what I choose, I don't feel any difference. Can you or someone else confirm, that this is working with your kernel? Is there another way to change vibration intensity?

No one has figured out how to do it. Some of the other watches have a text file that controls the amp power for the vibration motor. This file is not there for the Huawei.

[DEV] Galaxy Tab 7" LCD screen tuning

Hi Galaxy Tab owners!
Samsung was so kind and sent me a Galaxy Tab (SHW-M180S) to help me developing for it. Thanks Samsung Mobile Korea
That's why, only a few hours after receiving it I introduce support of this device in my research project app named Voodoo Screen Tuning R&D, available for free on Android Market.
This app is very much experimental and not a final product. See it as an internal leak from a R&D lab. But as Linus tells: release early, release often
Please take a look at the app description, and have fun testing this app!
I need your feedback, so.. see you soon.
Note: support starts with snapshot #31.
i have a sch-i800. will it be supported?

Tried but failed, does not recognize sgt p1000 yet? Can you tell when we can test? Thanks.

Wow this is dedication, an unsecure kernel and an app in less then 5 hours, gratz
Anyway, seems to work fine here, colors are more bright by clicking on "dev", not sure what you made but it works.
Thanks.

Any tab.
However I'm not a ROM guy − if I have a lot of respect for those who deodex and assemble ROMs all day long its extremely boring to me and I prefer doing things not done yet

Give a try to snapshot 33
With the overlay interface, you'll be able to see very clearly the effect of enabling/disabling CABC (Content Adaptive Backlight Control)
CABC is enabled in default Samsung settings, disabled in "dev" preset.
Note: much more than backlight is affected, IE the whole response curve with Samsung's advanced & complete CABC implementation.
Example: with a low contrast & dark content, then in the settings (white background)
Is it possible that it doesn't keep settings after a reboot?
Because when i reboot it seems to me that it return to Samsung setting and if i cleck on dev i see the difference.

Auto restore at boot is not yet implemented.
So far I'm thinking about how to write cleanly the codebase to do that despite the variety of device supported, sometimes with "presets" (combination of settings already present in kernel), sometimes with "profiles" (color calibration profiles built from scratch using reverse-engineering and a colorimeter).
I want to write only super cleanly designed code in this app so.. no rush
Ahhh....no worry, i thought it was a bug so i've reported

make sure all MUSIC/SOUND are off before adjusting the registers.
stop music / sound for 2~3 seconds,
adjust the sliders
start music / sound again.
be careful, it's fracking loud if you turn it all the way up!

Disable Touch Key Backlight on Google Edition

I hope someone can help me out with this (I guess most of my posts arent worth bothering with as they usually go untouched by anyone). I'm trying to figure out a way to disable the touch button backlight on a Google Edition ROM. I have been searching for an answer since the Google Edition hit. All I can ever find is how to disable on GSIII ROMs (non ge). If anyone can please help me out I would very much appreciate it. Thanks!

Screen Filter is an app that can disable the backlight of the softkeys. Set it to auto-start at boot and you should be good. I know its not a direct fix but its a low impact app that shouldnt effect battery life or operation.

Seems to work for me. Did it dim the screen at all (thats its main function)? Did you see the check box "enable softkey back light" (uncheck it) at the bottom of the app ui?

Yes, it did dim the screen, but if i uncheck the enable softkey back light, anytime I touch the screen the backlights still come on. Are you on a G.E. rom? I am currently on Infamouse G.E.

No im not. I am on AOSP (Slim Bean) though.
There are options to do this in AOKP and CM roms. Anybody know how those builds pull it off?
Give me a minute to shower and I'll write you an app. All you have to do is install my app, reboot, grant it root access, and profit.

Hello,
I'm currently implementing doubletap2wake and swipe2wake into the stock unsecured kernel.

actually, the stock kernel has support for this, only with root, but sadly its a propitiatory app (i dont get it either) called PGM nexus which makes use of it and u can double tap to wake, slide to wake and touch to wake .

yes ! exactly ! open source is the way to go besides pgm no longer supports newer kernels for 4.3 (only stock no trace and trace methods are supported ) which i guess some kernel developers dont use. anyways please make it open source if possible

https://github.com/flar2/flo/tree/ElementalX
Something to work with perhaps?
Cheers,

I'd check @faux123 git. He's done this for a few devices with settings to turn on and off in his app.
Anybody still working on? Got a few thoughts.
A good place to start would be to look up the "gpm hack" and "gpm mouse" in duckduckgo. I think there is a lot of good stuff you'll find. Another thing to get familiar with is parsing the output of /dev/input/event* and the builtin touch screen emulation with android's "input" command line function, "input touchscreen" to be more exact.
Shameless bump, but is someone still interested in this?

Nougat kernel with screen control?

Hello everyone. I'm thinking to take the leap and go to Nougat from MM, but my g4 suffers from a pretty bad screen burn effect.
On MM I use the superexe kernel work around to regulate screen colours and it's basically solved. Can anyone recommend me a nougat kernel with the same function? I just care for the screen control.
