Wifi very week on note 4 - Sprint Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello I got a note 4 and I have noticed that wifi signal connecting my router or other free wifi signal is not realy the "best thing" is quite hard .I got a note 3 neo,xcover,s3 ,a sony a iphone 4 and all of then havea bettar wifi connection. So I was woundering if,without louseng the Warranty with root,if there was a setting entering with secret codes in a secret menu and chage some settings so that the rx wifi will get bettar.
Anybody know something?
Thank's
Helen

I've heard of other models needing the Wi-Fi power saver mode disabled but rarely the Note 4.
Open your dialer and dial *#0011# tap the top right menu button and select Wi-Fi; scroll to bottom and tap the button near bottom to turn off.
You may also consider installing Wi-Fi Analytics from Google Play and analyze your network from your phone and compare to another phone on same network/same location (or simply this menu). You may have a hardware issue to resolve before considering root.

I did that but I dident noticed any chage so I will keep it like it was.I can tell u what I test .If I set the router max 56 mbps or max 130 Mbps then I have a good signal if I set ot max 270 Mbps then signal is realy very week. Now I dont know if that maybe change olso frequency of wifi and maybe taht is the probelm with the note 4 but I'm sure handy haves problem.I sort it out just setting max 56 Mbps Will be interesting to know if is possibol to change some settings on note 4 so taht olso on max 270 Mbps signal in rx will e "good" as example a free wifi in my village I think is on max 270 Mbps because my note 3 meo can connect wifi in the train instead note 4 dont have any wifi signal

Comparatively speaking, it's weaker and noted on the locations, applications and dialer code menu, right?
If so, you can exchange it if still within the exchange window (get it back quickly if that applies and don't take no for an answer). Otherwise, have it evaluated under warranty at point of sale.
I wouldn't settle for having to carry multiple devices to do what one should do unless your employer or business makes that necessary.
Not to judge your ISP provider or Wi-Fi router but your equipment may be generations out of date regarding speed and technology. But if it works to your satisfaction, good enough. Otherwise, your ISP may exchange it. I upgrade my modem and WiFi router myself to avoid the expense of leasing one; over time, it may actually pay for itself both in monetary terms and overall ease and satisfaction. A small investment if making the right timely decision. At the moment there's been movement on both the mobile and WiFi hardware. I adopted WiFi 802.11ac tech too early and now they have doubled ac connection speeds on the Wi-Fi router side. I'll wait to upgrade my WiFi router when I upgrade my phone. I think it makes sense to keep the tech relative to capabilities; upgrading too soon may not be a benefit at all and actually cost more, requiring more frequent and unnecessary upgrades.
Slow gratis WiFi outside the home? I get that too. Bummer.

I haven't helped much but you're welcome.
Do you have the option to return the Note 4 for exchange? The opportunity may only be 14 or 15 days so act quickly if you have that opportunity.
I'm thinking the weak WiFi indicates that exchange would be recommended if convenient.
I just reiterated the point because I wasn't sure if that got lost in translation.

Disable connections optimizer. It causes your phone to change connections too often. Disabling actuality increases speed also. If you go to Wifi settings and disable constant scanning your device will not be searching for better connections. You can also force your device to stay connected with a app called Connections Stabilizer ' it directed connection and if it does lose service it resets everything causing a more stabile connection. It works best with super access but is not required.

I have (had) the same issues with my Note 4. It would always prefer mobile over WiFi after I rooted it. It got to the point it would not even connect to WiFi in places that where all ready saved to my device. It was the same on every Samsung based ROM. It kept on popping up that the connections optimizer had stopped. You can just disable it in settings. I just freeze it out on new ROMS now. It solved the WiFi issue for me.

@androodius that option is off I dont use data (the option ist available only if data is on just because I use a sim from another country so Rouming cost very mutch expecialy if I go online. But the test I did with my Netgear dgn2000 is unfortunatelly ok 100% maybe is a general wifi problem of the note 4.

PS:I got a tplink Tomorrow I will try olso that router

I see. So it's safe to say that you leave your mobile data disconnected all of the time? Although the connections optimizer is in mobile settings it is designed to connect to WiFi. The Note 4 has a very efficient booster built in to it. It works by jumping back and forth between mobile and WiFi. On the Sprint model it is activated with the connections optimizer and/or in WiFi settings. Verizon Note 4s come with it available in settings and in the toggle notifications. With idoneapp you can enable all of the toggles on every carriers note.
I'm not sure what the exact cause of the cause of the problem is but I do know that when it is enabled in any of the 3 ways I mentioned my device stongly favors mobile data. The only way I can make it stay on WiFi is by disabling mobile data.
Are you having the problems with your Wifi so when your mobile is off you are basically getting no data?
Either way you might want to look in to the idoneapp. It has a lot of cool feature. One that may save you money is the hotspot enabler. It unlocks your APNs so you might be able to kick over to some that don't cost as much to use.

[Q] Wi-fi and 4g on at same time

Hello,
Just bought the Galaxy Nexus CDMA version and have a question. Many people suggest turning off the 4G to conserve battery. If I'm on a Wi-Fi network for most of the day, is it necessary to turn off 4G? If Wi-Fi is on (and connected), is 4G still being used and draining the battery unnecessarily? I figured Wi-Fi would "trump" 4G.
Thanks in advance for your help.
The radio is still active and maintaining the signal will sap your juice. Think of it this way: when your phone is only on 4g and you're not using it, it still drains the battery even though you're not downloading files and whatnot.
I've flashed a new rom on days where I was just home and in wifi-range and forgotten to re-toggle 4g off, and found that my battery had drained all that much more than normal.
Thanks Joe for the reply..... IMHO, it doesn't make sense to me. I wonder why 4G is active (or even 3g for that matter) with a Wi-Fi connection? It makes sense to me when you are not on Wi-Fi because you need to have the data connection (4G) readily available for data. But if you already have a connection via Wi-Fi, why do you need another data connection (3G or 4G).
I did notice this though:
1. Wi-Fi is active (blue status bars at Wi-fi status and data connection status)
2. Turn off Wi-fi (Wi-Fi status dissapears as expected)
3. 4G status is blue for about a second or two.
4. 4G status turns grey for about a second or two.
5. 4G status turns back to blue.
If 3G/4G is truly active (with Wi-Fi Connection), I would assume that the status would never turn Grey for the second or two. In past experiences with other devices, when the status was grey, I couldn't get data connections.
When you turn on wifi, it disconnects you from the 3G or LTE network. You can check this from network status.
So no, you do not need to turn off LTE if you are on wifi all the time.

Hmm well I see where it says disconnected, but I still get a signal reading and it says I am on LTE or eHRDP in the usual spot.
I understand about the radio being in a low-power state, but I was left with the impression, from my usage, that battery always seemed to drain that much more when I didn't toggle 4g off altogether. But it's been a while since I just wrote 4g off altogether so I'm going to test it again tonight when I have a chance to leave the phone undisturbed with wifi and 4g on.

You can never actually turn a radio off, so you will not see a battery life difference if you set it to cdma only and use 3G while on wifi.
When you turn on WiFi it doesnt disconnect your Data connection but your phone will know when WiFi is on to use WiFi instead of Data. The only way to save power is to manually turn it off. Just remember that when you do you cannot receive or send picture texts. There may be other things im not sure. Youll still know you recieved a picture text so just make sure you turn on your Data connection before downloading it. Otherwise you have to wait for another or send one of your own to download it.
Now I dont know the situation of your area for service but here we get great 3g coverage. It serves me well for surfing the net, using Google Navigation, just about everything but videos. So why waste the power for 4g? If I need it I can get a connection quick enough but I dont usually. I dunno, For what I need using 4G is like bringing a bazooka to a knife fight. Why? Id rather leave it in the trunk of my car close by just in case

It does turn off data when switching to wifi. Check your network status.
To be clear, I mean mobile data network when I say data.
Look at the last item.

Thank you all for your help.
@adrynalyne -- Thanks for showing me the network status location. Didn't even notice that. You are indeed correct that it displays "disconnected" when on Wi-Fi.
@IFLATLINEI -- Regarding 3G service speeds.... in Manhattan, 3G is horribly slow. 4G is great. Even though I'm on Wi-Fi most of the the time at work, there are times when I step out for lunch and need 3G/4G. I find it somewhat cumbersome to flip back and forth from 3G to 4G..... The switching of networks seem to sometimes take up to a minute (or longer) to find the data network specified. That is why I would rather leave the phone in 4G mode when Wi-Fi is turned on.
@JoeSyr -- Let us know the results of your test. Once my phone/battery is broken in, I plan on doing the same... but I'm fairly confident that the results should be relatively close due to adrynalyne's comments.

It definitely does not keep data on when you're on WiFi. It specifically disconnects your data network. It makes no sense to keep both enabled at once.
I seen the first 3 posts saying the same thing. Obviously there is more to it than that right? If I have both wifi and data on how would I still receive a picture text? Since as I explained before. You cannot receive a picture text without data turned on. Again turning on wifi is not turning data off. The network status seems to be telling you it will just use wifi instead. If I'm wrong address my example with picture texts. Dont just direct me to Network Status again. We already established that on the first page of the thread.
To the O.P I didn't expect you to do what I do. Just an example of how I manage to get my phone through the day. If you don't have good 3g like we do then it makes no sense to save power with my method. So you can still just turn 4g when on wifi. But unless some one can clarify what actually happens to data when wifi is turned on then I would recommend doing it manually.
On other devices, it was handled by the incoming MMS for a split second switching to the mobile network. Now on the Nexus, the uaprof is generic and uses a google server, so I don't think it matters anymore. Or maybe it switches faster than I can see it. Would be interesting to logcat it. Either way, once the MMS is received, the mobile network disconnects. I just sent an MMS and watched my network status. It never changed.

Lol. I'm not trying to be a pain about this. Its just weird. I would really like to believe that when I turn my wifi on data was actually turned off. If its true then I can stop toggling my data connection all the time.

It effectively does. You're taking an extra completely unnecessary step by manually turning off your data when you're on WiFi.
Look at it like this. You are using more battery switching to 3g while on wifi because thats a few more seconds the soul sucking screen is on
Alright then. Settled. Thank you
Well quick update, I found that 4g vs 3g w/ wifi on came out to about the same in a single overnight test for each, as far as total battery drain goes. I couldn't stick to a completely standard testing format for timeframe and hours, but the difference was pretty negligible. 89% after 10.5 hours with 4g, 91% after just under 9 with 3g, slight differences in syncing apps grabbing some juice for either.
However, I did notice that there's an alarm coming from com.android.internal.telephony.gprs-data-stall that was waking my phone up a lot, and it did differ between the two tests. According to the people over in the better battery stats thread, this item indicates that the data connection was disrupted. The going theory there seems to be that there's a core ICS bug that's causing this to still fire when wifi is on. Apparently it's pretty common for them to get reports of it from ICS devices, but I only know as much as skimming the last few pages of that thread has told me.
For what it's worth, my gprs-data-stall count was 368 for 10.5 hours on 4g+wifi, and 89 for about 9 hours on 3g+wifi (although if this affects battery life, it's only on the order of .1% per hour according to my quick little tests). Seems like it could be due to either random interference or an ICS bug that meets different outcomes when using the 4g/3g radios. I imagine that if my phone lost and re-established a 4g data connection 368 times overnight I'd see a noticeable battery drain, so if this is a bug it might be pretty benign.
Perhaps if more people could start compiling BBS logs for wifi+data time we could get a better picture about whether there's a bug in the source that's causing the gprs-data-stall behavior.

A picture text temporarily turns on 3g data, receives it, then shuts it off. All while keeping wifi on.
This happens to me all the time.

Is Wi-Fi really problematic on Note2?

I see reports of problematic Wi-Fi for the Note2 & I've heard the multi-view update (for AT&T anyway) will also include Wi-Fi improvements so the question for current Note2 owners is just how problematic is Wi-Fi really at this time?
-Thnx
Not problematic at all
I personally haven't seen any hardware deficiencies on this device, and no major software issues. Wifi is stable, the hot spot is stable, bluetooth is stable, and I'm getting higher speeds and better connectivity then I've ever seen on tmo's network.
I also have no issues with wifi what so ever. Great phone! Everything works as it should; minus having the multi window update of course.

Good to hear about the Wi-Fi as I use Wi-Fi a lot & it could have been a deal breaker. I'm hoping T-Mobile will feel more pressure regarding the multi-view update when Verizon this week launches with it & AT&T who has worked on it for a while updates it. Sprint the first major carrier to get multi-view is my current carrier with the EVO which will see its 2 yr contract end Saturday so I ordered http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A45SF7G last night-should arrive Friday. Would also like to see this white case when available as I'll likely be getting the Note 2 in grey & want to see it in these black & white kickstand cases like my black EVO. I'll also get http://www.amazon.com/Seidio-CSK3SSGT2K-BK-ACTIVE-Kickstand-Samsung/dp/B00A45SGKC when available again as my EVO & seen in Seidio Active and Surface Case Unboxing and Review for the Samsung Galaxy Note II .
I hope T-Mobile doesn't wait until the Note 3 to update to multi-view & what ever happened to the screen recorder function?
Wifi connectivity is awesome no issues.
So do you all think the reports of Wi-Fi issues are just isolated issues then?

The Note 2 uses BCM4334 for WiFi and is enabled for both 2.4 and 5 GHz. Just like the Galaxy S 3 that means 40 MHz channels on 5 GHz for a maximum physical layer speed of 150 Mbps. I did have some weird issues here, no matter what I did I couldn’t get the Note 2 to go on the 5 GHz AP, or get up to 150 Mbps.

Curiously enough there isn’t any 2.4 or 5 GHz priority toggle under the advanced tab in WiFi settings, yet the Galaxy S 3 models have this toggle and the same WiFi hardware stack. I suspect there’s some software or configuration issue here.
As a result we see iPerf performance out of the Galaxy Note 2 along the lines of what you’d expect for just 2.4 GHz operation. I’m puzzled as to why this is the case quite honestly."
My wifi sometimes disconnect and reconnect a few times a day. Never had any problems on my sg3. Don't think it's my router. I passed my returning window.

I did have that problem when I first bought it actually. I tried disabling the wifi sleep option by doing these:
*#0011# > press menu key on phone > WiFi > click the "ON" button so it does't light up (basically turn it off).
It seemed to have solved the problem but still seem to happen rarely. I thought i had a dud but after I did a factory data reset and all wifi problems were since solved.
My friend did a factory reset before he even used his phone and he never experienced any Wifi problem. Hope this helps...

Thanks. Just turned off the wifi sleep mode in phone setting. Hopefully this will help with wifi dropping.
FWIW I've been a tad disappointed in the WiFi, performance seems okay but it's finicky about routers. I've got a mid range Cisco unit (500 series) at home and it will not connect to the 2.4ghz side at all, but will the 5ghz. At the office it's the other way around (Engenius business grade stuff). Once connected it's been fine, seems slightly slower over wifi than the original note but otherwise fine, it's just picky and takes some extra steps for me. I've upgraded to the latest firmware on my router at home with no change, not that I expected one as the release notes had nothing applicable.

any ideas what are the difference between the wi-fi power saving from this menu vs the "keep wifi on during sleep" in the phone settings? They seem to turn on and off independently.

I'd check the Wi-Fi sleep policy but curious why a factory reset before using the phone would help as shouldn't it already be in a factory reset state before using (i.e. what your friend experienced could have just been a coincidence)?
Good to see that this is not in fact a common experience..

Note 4 WiFi Speeds

What kind of speeds are you guys getting on your home wifi? For some reason I'm only getting about 7Mbps down, on a 12Mbps service. My PC confirms that I am getting 12Mbps when I run speed test from there, but my Note 4 won't do much more than 7 on the same connection.. Any ideas?

Wifi seems good for me.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using XDA Free mobile app
I don't see any problem. At 50 Mbps service i got over 60 Mbps
Definitely have issues since update
My WiFi seemed to work fine when I first got the phone. I took the OTA update and since then I'm getting about 25% of the speed I do on my PC. AT&T is ruining a great phone
I've also had some off wifi speeds since the update. Have 20mb/s at home from my ISP and will randomly drop to 5mb/s but the speed on my laptop will be fine. It's not consistently slow though so i'm not sure the issue.
Wifi slow since update
I'm also having a very similar problem. Everything works speedy over LTE, and it seems its fast on the wifi networks at my work, but my home wifi is incredibly slow. I notice it most with the Play Store, Google Now, and Maps. Images don't load, links/results load slow. Updating apps takes a bit longer.
I did a test and while on wifi, I used the stock Internet browser app and did some searches on google.com, which all returned immediately. Doing the same searches on the Google app took 3 times as long to get the same results.
I know this was an odd test, but I used OpenVPN Connect to VPN in to my home network while on LTE. The same problems occurred over VPN. At first I thought that it was my home wifi, but neither my Nexus 7 or Galaxy S3 have these problems. I'm hoping this gets fixed when the Lollipop update rolls out.
Yea, it's weird because my girlfriend and I have identical note 4s. She hasn't updated hers to the latest os version yet, and she is getting the same crappy speeds on her phone. When I test my speed on my PC I'm getting what I'm supposed to get. Idk, maybe it's this crappy dsl service we have. I'll have to run a test on someone's cable service and see how that goes.

What kind of speeds are you guys getting on your home wifi? For some reason I'm only getting about 7Mbps down, on a 12Mbps service. My PC confirms that I am getting 12Mbps when I run speed test from there, but my Note 4 won't do much more than 7 on the same connection.. Any ideas? View attachment 3054974

Have you tried to turn WiFi power saver off. From dialer *#0011#, wifi settings and turn power saver off.
My WiFi speed. Seems good.
Edit that last post. So I turned off power saver mode on my WiFi. And this is what I get now!!

Thank you for the tip! I dod turn the setting off and im still getting crap DL speeds. I haven't had the chance to test speeds on a different network. I'm starting to think that it may be my crappy dsl connection

True I prefer cable over DSL any day.
I've had this issue for a while,I use xfinity. I have the WiFi router built into the modem with telephone also.ever since they thought it was cool to make my WiFi a xfinity open hot spot for any customer that sits out side my house and wants to use my router they can,as long as the sign on with there xfinity account.I've had all kinds of wifi issues,my hardwired connections are fine.My WiFi speeds get so slow my phone goes to LTE until the connection gets better.I called and had them disable the hotspot from info I got searching google, they did.It seemed OK for a few days, then same issues. This has been going on for months I'm going to take the modem in a get a new one,but I've read people doing this and still issues. This has happened on my S3,S4,S5.On my note 4 same issues but I have a new one, even when my WiFi is strong and stable certain things won't load even tapatalk,if I toggle off WiFi on my phone and refresh on LTE no problem connects like it should.I disabled power saving that was recimended, but I don't see a change in anything.Even after it refreshes I don't see any stat changes in the dialer WiFi menu. What I does the WiFi power saving mode do anyway?

Yes, most definetly. Cable is far superior to dsl presently. We can't get cable where I live, and dsl is my only viable option. I read about a new technology that is being worked on, that when completed will enable data to travel up and down dsl infustructure several times faster than cable. I don't recall the exact numbers, but from the sounds of it, there's a good chance that dsl may become the preferred infustructure for ISPs in the future. Here's the link to the article that goes over it.. I thought it was really interesting.

Try Netflix over wifi, any issues?

Just recieved my G4 from T-Mobile. Factory fresh device here. When using the Netflix app while on wifi im recieving problems. Basically sometimes doesnt log me on at all. Then when i do switch to cellular data, it then works. Also the videos take longer then usual to start if it does start at all. I have the Note 4 right beside me connected to the same wifi, works without a problem. I did factory reset again to eliminate singular instances. Doesnt seem to effect the outcome. Anyone else with similar problems??
No issues for me on my Verizon G4 on Wi-Fi.
No issues for my tmo variant.
Does this issue replicate on other Wi-Fi networks as well?
I haven't used Netflix long on the G4 but when I was checking it out it seemed 100% fine. Logged in superfast and playback as well. I did testing vs my Note 2 and the G4 blew it away how fast everything was loading etc.
I had to turn off Wi-fi calling. I couldn't sign into Netflix with it on. Netflix is working fine for me with it off.

Sounds like a QOS issue on the router.

Not likely, in my case at least. The router in question is an ASUS RT-N16 running a Tomato variant with QoS rules that have been working flawlessly for me for two years. In addition, I wasn't even using Wifi calling, it was simply enabled. My N5, N7, and Galaxy S2 have no problems signing in. The error I received had to do with the network time. As soon as I disabled Wifi calling, the error resolved.
Turning off wifi calling worked. Thanks for the advice.
So after getting the replacement G4 in store my Netflix not working either without Wifi calling off. The old phone was able to play back fine with it on. Can anything else be tried. Since Wifi calling is a feature I use at my house since we have bad signal area and only use Netflix on Wifi so they both need to be working. I tried everything from Netflix chat will try a modem/router reboot again.
I did another factory reset and only connected the 5G wireless signal (thought maybe that was the issue) it worked right away but once google service updated again thats it wont work without Wifi calling off so...
Anyone other Tmobile users can test this or Netflix and say if they need to have Wifi Calling off or not ?
I do believe it's something with the Google Service update since I tried it again same issue. I did find out you don't have to turn Wifi Calling off but change it to Cellular Network Preferred instead of Wifi Preferred. It does work if you change it back to Wifi sometimes but only if the video is preloaded but it's hit or miss if it works but if you play another video you will have to change it back to Cell or Off.
WiFi + "WiFi Calling" + NetFlix does not work
I had the same problem with my new "LG G4" phone. If connected to WiFi and the "Wi-Fi Calling" feature is enabled then I get these NetFlix app errors:
- Please make sure that your device has network connectivity and the Date and Time settings are acurate (-3)
or
- Sorry, we could not reach the Netflix service. Please try again later. If the problem persists, please visit the Netflix website (12001).
I tested on multiple very high quality WiFi networks.
The workaround was to:
- Disable "Wi-Fi Calling" when using WiFi and NetFlix
or
- Don't use WiFi, instead use T-Mobile's cellular data network
Thanks but look @ Sfkn2 post at the top member is with Tmobile and said no problems. I replied around that time no issues but now I have the problems. Yes those are the errors.
Someone is to blame and they all just want to point fingers at each other. It's on Tmobile to fix this and that probably won't happen.
Right. Apparently I can't take a screen shot for you guys to see while the movie is playing. But you can see I'm connected to WiFi calling on tmo network..

Yes that's what strange that I had 1 of them working on it but both don't now unless I change to Cellular Network Preferred . Can you tell me if your on a 5GHz or 2.4GHz connection or if both work and then your Router model. The connection shouldn't matter much since I had it working on both and found the 5GHz was strong enough to use in most my house and was using that most of the times. Might try changing the channels or something.
I have the Asus RT-AC68U (not the Tmobile one) I bought this just after release.
Streaming to my phone using the Emby app from my Emby server works fine as well.
I know we have a work around to atleast Stream but need to get this sent to the right places for a fix.

Netgear N600 - model WNDR3400V3.
Makes no difference whether it's 2.4 or 5. Dynamic IP setting. QOS option is off.
I posted the issue over at http://www.reddit.com/r/tmobile/comments/3bedec/lg_g4_netflix_not_working_with_wifi_calling/ and got a response from a Tmobile Employee which I believe is on the Engineering side. They are going to report the issue so it's a start to see if they can fix it.

Android 10 5g wifi keeps dropping

Hi guys
I'm using a wifi repeater Netgear EX8000. These days my wifi is very unstable even though it's full bar. The internet keeps dropping
I've tested it out with static IP on my phone setting and yet the wifi is still dropping fast.
Next to my test is my old phone Samsung S8+ where the wifi is stable without any drops. Both are connecting to the same 5G network. Both have the same Gateway, DNS. Only the static IPs are slightly different. This leads me to think Android 10 have bad wifi issues.
Anyone else having this problem?
If yes, how do you solve it? or do you downgrade back to android 9?
I was having wifi troubles, would be connected but nothing coming through. What helped me was in Wifi check the settings symbol in the network you are connected to and go to MAC address type and select "use device MAC" especially if you are trying static IP on your router.
Thx for the reply. I tried that but doesn't help for my case.
Have the same problem here. I don't have the 5g model and so far the only wifi drops I get are on 5ghz. I have not tested the 2.4ghz to see if it does the same thing.
So far usually restarting the wifi (toggle off and back on) fixes it. Dynamic/Static IP/metered/unmetered settings have no effect. I have no wifi control programs and wifi power saving settings are disabled. I do have mobile data on all the time.
As for downgrading it's what ever you want to do. IMHO this is one of those quirks that comes with a new OS update, and it isn't just Samsung devices that have been reported as having the same issue. I would presume that a subsequent update would probably contain a fix. Seeing as we just got an OS upgrade a factory data reset might be of more help then not.
I myself haven't done and FDR yet, but then again I am perfectly ok with toggling off and back on the wifi connection. I may end up doing a FDR at another point in time, or I might just make a tasker routine (restart wifi when no internet detected).
I have the same problem with Public wifi that require you to sign in...

If the movie is continuously fast forwarded in the local area network, the WIFI speed will be reduced to only 100KB / S.

Don't take this the wrong way, but your throughput speed issue is not the same as a WiFi disconnect issue.
Also SMB can be a fickle like that and effected by things if your just downloading to the phone or streaming a video, app support (CX File Explorer's SMB support), video file format/conversion via software... In your case I'm betting on non WiFi related issues since your attempting to stream pirated movies (saw that in your other thread) that probably are not converted for your phone and range in 11 to 14 gigs in size.

In the local area network, continuous transmission and playback, there is no problem with movie format. The software I use is CX File Explorer's and mxplayer.
The reason why this problem is because the previous S6 S7 NOTE8 does not have this problem

I had ran a tasker routine to check for internet connection, and upon none in restarts the wifi on the phone.
I also ended up doing a factory data reset and set the phone back up (not using a backup) to resolve the issue. Avoiding the use of a backup means that any corrupted settings that were in my phone (that would have been backed up) did not get back into my phone. This maybe about the only solution to try.. another would be to try and different router (use a friends internet or something, so long as it's not the same router as yours). If the connection is stable on a different router then it maybe time to consider an upgrade to the wireless router your using.
Ultimately I ended up getting a wifi6 router and have not had a single problem at all. I also migrated away from using a private dns setting and use a dns block list with a vpn app. I am not sure if an update released to the phone (or a combination of things) fixed it or not, but it's working without issue.
I found this to work. I have been struggling with this issue for a while and found that it is a conflict with the wifi ip settings. The router changes ip configuration changes everyday for your protection. Change ip in wifi -- sprocket--advanced -- change from dhcp to static then save. Issue resolved.

I use a vpn that seems to do the trick.
Hello Everyone it is 4th of February 2021. I have an ONE PLUS 6 i started having an issue with my 5ghz wifi after the upgrade to android 10 almost 2 years ago . Anyhows it would drop the wifi randomly or dissconnect me from it and when i turned it on the 5ghz network it would take over a minute untill it connects. I have finally found A BIG solution to this problem it's the Security in your Modem. On my modem it was on security WPA-WPA2PSL-AUTO. Now i changed it to ONLY WPA2-PSK Or depending on your device which one works better if u have the option of WPA PSK either one of these u can choose them but dont go for WPA-WPA2PSL-AUTO. It's a security-Bug issue that popped up on many android 10 devices after the update. So once i changed it to either one of those instead of WPA-WPA2PSL-AUTO ' my issue went away. I've been struggling with this problem since the android 10 update came to my ONE PLUS 6 . So there you have it FINALLY A FIX TO OUR PROBLEM
