[Q] Lenovo Z90-7 (VIBE SHOT) BELL CANADA LTE NOT WORKING - Lenovo Vibe Shot Questions & Answers

Hey everyone,
I'm on bell mobility in canada and bell does have 2600 mhz support. When I use the Lenovo Vibe shot, I only get 3G connection, NO LTE.
Is there a way to change this??? Is there a way to fix this? Hardware wise, it SHOULD be able to connect to 2600 mhz on bell mobility LTE but it doesn't. It goes only as far as 3g.
Please help me!! I'm trying to deal with this for weeks and I can't find any solution.

I'm wondering if you don't have the Chinese version vs the European version... Another member reported that even though the specs were listed as the same, some bands were not present in the Chinese variant.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62737607&postcount=17

FML! It is the chinese version! but i bought it from etotalk.com! It listed 2600 mhz frequency explicitly....
is there anyway to select the LTE band?

Touch PRO 2 with UMTS 850/2100 MHZ

hi guys,
check this out..
http://personaldigital.com.au/p171/HTC-Touch-PRO-2-T7373-850-Mhz-NEXTG-%21%21-PRO2/buy.html
It has those frequencies selectable out of the box on any version I believe.
no, you are taking about the GSM bands
i was talking about the UMTS/ WCDMA 850/2100
Most versions WORLDWIDE are 900/2100
850 is the AT&T (USA) and Telstra (Australia) 3G Bands
I am under the impression AT&T and Rogers/Fido also use the 1900mhz for downloads. The 850 bands is only the "upload" band.
Yeah, but paying around 400 dollars more for an 850mhz band you must REALLY want it.
Wait a second
I know att uses the 850 and 1900 bands for 3g but I never heard that the 1900 band is for downloading and the 850 band is for uploading. Is this true? Can anyone confirm this 100%?
I was holding off buying the samsung omnia II because it only had the 1900.
Unless I am mistaken, when do you really need to upload anything on a mobile phone?
I hope someone can confirm this asap because then I can get an omnia now instead of waiting for att to release the tp2.
I have a hard time finding a credible source that explains the use of the two separate Bands but I saw it mentioned more then one time.
Anyone got a source with Provider/Bands/Usage, it would be a great tool.
If the bands really serve separate function it's a problem because upload is essential to downloading because you need to tell the server what you want to received hehe.
So 3G band are the following: T-Mo uses 1700/2100, this phone would be a 850/2100, ATT would be 850/1900, Europe would mostly be 900/2100, etc.
at&t has two separate 3G bands; 850 and 1900 mhz. these two bands are independent of each other and each one does upload/download. (this is unlike tmobile which uses 1700 for download and 2100 for upload i believe). So the best thing is to figure out what area you are in; most areas are mixed with 850 and 1900 and some areas are only one or the other. At&t is making a move towards more 850mhz because it is the better penetrating band. I know in south florida it is mostly 850mhz with a little bit of 1900 in miami. Hence why my old Nokia E51 (has 850 and 2100 mhz 3G, like the Telus TP2) worked perfectly down here on 3G. hope this clarifies it
Thanks for the input.
I gotta see what`s the deal with Rogers/Fido in Montreal!

I have a Touch HD from Telstra, i am using it on ATT in CA, it only has 850 for 3g, and it works for both, up and download. My area has mostly 850 and some 1900, I get 3g almost everywhere. works great.
Not worth it. I'm sure the AT&T version will be out within 2 months.
You will end up paying $500-$600 just to have a half-working one up to 2 months early. Its not even unbranded.
That's wrong. According to that page (and others), the Telstra version is a bit over a thousand dollars, not just 400-500 US. And you're right, seems the AT&T version will be out in October.
I mean $500-$600 more than the AT&T version.
your missing the worth
the point is you'll get the original HTC device included with the front facing camera the original keyboard none of the filler apps (that slow down the phone) and the sleeker look with out posibly loosing the straight talk technology. who knows what att will remove to save on cost.
Its already been shown. It loses the front camera and the keyboard arrangement is different. And it has an AT&T logo. Do you really want to pay $500 more just to not have that little logo? The front camera is useless in the U.S. and the keyboard is just different, not worst. Flash the original ROM or any cooked ROM and all your software issues (and lockouts) are gone. Plus with the AT&T version, you have access to super fast replacements if anything were to happen.
Heck, for that price you could possibly buy both the US and the European version, getting coverage basically everywhere in the world

UMI X2 and T-Mobile 3G

I purchased the newly released UMI X2 Android phone. I am unable to use the TMobile 3G network. I am only able to use 2G/EDGE.
Voice and data quality are very bad, almost the phone is unusable. I spoke with T-Mobile and was informed that my modem does not support 1700 MHz and there are effort to re-farm TMobile network to support 3G on 1900Mhz but not set date yet. When I scan for available network I get three networks were available
T-Mobile 2G
AT&T 3G
AT&T 2G
Operating System: Android 4.2.1 OS
Processor: 1.2GHz MTK MT6589 quad-core processor
Connectivity Technology: GSM network & WCDMA - Standard SIM card
Network Band: GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz & WCDMA 850/2100MHz
Data Technology: GPRS, EDGE, HSPA
Baseband version
MOlY.WR8.W1248.MD.WG.MP.V2.P1
I would appreciate any help to get my phone to work on 3G.

Did you make any progress with this? I recently purchased UMI X2, for use with T-Mobile UK. But have the same problem of not being able to connect to 3G networks - it works okay on 2G/EDGE.
I know the phone supports 3G on 2100MHz, and there's been some debate whether it supports 850/900MHz as well, but I've not found a definitive answer to that.
There's an operator in the UK (Hutchinson 3G UK Ltd) that only have a license for 2100MHz. So I was expecting the phone to work fine on their network- but no go... phone won't register on network at all - even though it shows in the available networks list.
I'm now searching to see if anyone else has been having problems - as it's beginning to look like faulty phone hardware - rather than trying to use unsupported frequencies...
acid meaand
I am still in the same situation, I am unable to use the 3G network for T-Mobile.
I am looking into getting 4G Wireless Hotspot modem $50 from the same carrier, use my SIM card on the modem, and use my UMI X2 as pure IP phone. There are many issues, but it looks promising.
Please keep me updated with any progress you make.
Regards;
I have the same problem...
I have this same problem with a operator here in Brazil. Every 3G operator in Brazil, using 2.1GHz band, works fine except one: VIVO.
I can see the network when I click on "manual search", but the phone can't connect. My baseband is:
moly.wr8.w1248.md.wg.mp.v7.p1 2013/04/10 00:39
How can change this baseband to another? I tried to update firmware but unfortunately the newest firmware has the same baseband version.
firmware update will not solve the problem
Firmware update will not solve the problem. Until the manufacture identifies the problem and provides a solution, the problem is outstanding.
Beside the hardware has to be compatible and can support more frequencies which no one can confirm for the UMI or any other chines unlocked phones.
But, this is just my humble opinion.
I Found a solution (at least for me)
I think I found a solution for my problem. I flashed this very new (2013/07/17) rom, with a new baseband MOLY.WR8.W1248.MD.WG.MP.V7.F2.P1, 2013/07/10 23:14 that corrects 3G dropouts and disconnects. Now my 3g works find, with H and sometimes H+. Fast and reliable like it should be. The link for this new ROM is:
http://www.needrom.com/mobile/umi-x2-based-official-for-europeus/
Thanks for the update.
I have two questions.
1- There are two files in the link you provided UMI-X2-basedon_Official_250613.zip and UPDATE_UMI-X2-THB-ROM-based_on_Official_170713.zip. Which do use?
2- You mentioned the updated corrected 3G dropouts and disconnects, but do you know if the update have these frequencies to get 3G?
3G (850, 900, 1700, 1900, 2100 MHz)
HSPA+ 42
P.S
GSM/EDGE/GPRS (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz) original specs

I used the file UPDATE_UMI-X2-THB-ROM-based_on_Official_170713.zip. It was based on the Official ROM from 07/17/2013, but I was unable to find the official stock version. This version has a very new bandbase that, supposedly, fixed the problem with 3G on some operators.
3G on Brazil is on 2100 MHz, sometimes on 850MHz but in my case the problem was on 2.1GHz band. Three WCDMA operators in Brazil, all in the same 2.1GHz frequency, work fine, but VIVO doesn't. Now, with the new rom, it works with no drop outs for over a day now.
no changes or additional frequencies
I successfully applied the update but no changes or additional frequencies
I have serious issues with HSDPA, t-mobile uk works but only on GPRS and it keeps dropping out. GiffGaff seems to work without dropping out. It has worked for a minute on HSDPA today but only once. Other than that t-mobile has been dropping out badly. GPRS works for a bit then it drops out. I have took an MTK modem log with MobileUncle Tools to see what it says but haven't looked at it yet. Trying to work out if it is a hardware issue or Baseband.
I get this from my X2 Radio Logcat:

How long the Cu wire has to be? And where to connect it?
Many thanks in advance.

[Q] Band frequency/LTE/3g Lg Optimus G Pro F240S

Hi,
I have bought and just got delivered a brand new Lg Optimus pro from Korea. The problem is that it would not recognize the band frequency, either for 3G nor 4G. The version I have is f240s and the frequency for 3G is 900 and 2100 (both is used by my currently operator) and for 4G 850 (B5) and 1800 (B3). Now, GPRS/EDGE works and the frequency for 2G is GSM850, 900 1800 and 1900.
I live in Sweden and my operator (Tele2) uses same band for both 3G and 4G. My question is why it won't work. Firmware issues? I have used the commando for the LTE menu (5467#*240#) and when I am trying to change the band for LTE I get a message "getbal has no fram value".
I would really much appreciate any solution or step in the right direction! if anybody has more questions or would like further information don't hesitate to ask!
Thank you again.
It passed about 3 months since you posted. Have you solved the problem? I have an LG Vu 3 (also Korean) and it behaves exactly like yours.

[Q] LG G3 D855 4G LTE issues on T-Mobile USA

Hello everyone,
I just got my LG G3 today and I'm encountering an issue getting 4G LTE on my D855 (international version) on the T-Mobile US network. I looked around and searched the forums to find a solution to this 4G LTE problem specific to this phone. I tried going into the hidden menu (3485#*855#) and changing the bands and such, nothing works. I haven't rooted my phone or flashed anything yet, as I haven't found any tutorial in which doing so would resolve this issue for this specific model.
I do get HSPA on it, which gives me about 7mbps, much slower than I anticipated.
Does it mean that I won't get 4G LTE at all? I will be in Hong Kong for a few months and was wondering if I would get 4G LTE there on T-Mobile using this phone since it's the international version and they do offer 4G LTE over there. Anyone know if it works over there?
If there are no solutions, I might just sell the phone and get a different model that works.
I'm located in Southern California if that helps anyone.
@darkelfx, you need to check which LTE bands that model runs off of, and see if T-Mobile uses those. I work for tmo, and we did a lot of work on our network to make it more compatible with unlocked devices, however, I know that since there is a difference in the bands att uses, their devices do not pick up our LTE 90% of the time. They get HSPA+, just like you do.
These are the bands being used and my version is the international version (not the AT&T version).
2G Network: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network: HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100
4G Network: LTE 700 / 800 / 900 / 1800 / 2100 / 2300 / 2600
I do not get HSDPA+, I get the slower 3G speed, which is HSDPA.

for 3g you need to have 1700mhz as well
for 4g they use a combo 1700/2100 or AWS is the nickname.
Sorry to say but the D855 is NOT compatible with any U.S. LTE bands.

Yeah, I found this out as well researching the G3 before buying any of the variants for use on Tmo. None of the variants, outside of the 851, will work on Tmo's LTE. You'll get voice and 3G (HSPA), but not LTE connections with TMo.
As for getting LTE in HK, it won't be on Tmo's network, as Tmo does not have any networks in HK. You might get data roaming and all, but I haven't looked too much into that as I don't do much international travel. You would connect under a roaming partner there, if there are any under agreement.
Or you could swap in another SIM for use in HK.
This worked for me.
I had exactly the same problem.
Watch this video on YouTube for the G2, follow the instructions and it will work.

Hi, I use LG G3 D855 and looking for solution to get LTE on T-Mobile USA. After some research inside the forum, I decided to try to use CyanogenMod (CM 12.1) on my system.
It works well and now I can enjoy LTE on T-Mobile network, even though not pretty stable yet, but I am good with that since the OS still ongoing development.
You can try to download the OS on Cyanogen official website, and use the latest update available.
In order to confirm if you get LTE signal, beside check on your LTE sign, you can use LTE Discovery apps whenever you lost LTE connection and try to reconnect on an LTE signal.
Oh, forgot to mention, I am located in College Station, TX.

LG G3: a big problem with 4G

Hi, i have a big problem with my LG G3 bought on january of this year. the version is the D855, italian warranty (as i am italian). from the moment which i put my SIM into the cell phone i noticed that it doesn't connect to 4G network (as just it found a 4G connectivity it started to search another network till it'd have found a 3G/H+ connectivity), delivered twice to the customer service (so i staied two months without mobile), LG wasn't able to solve the issue said that their test on the network was all right, now i found the only one provider that works with my device (i'm talking about H3G, before, when i bought it, i had Vodafone, but i have tried Wind and Tim though), but now i want to change it because it costs an arm and a leg, and i want to solve this problem by myself (as LG do nothing to solve it) and it seems there is no one with my same issue in the world wide, so what it would be a probably solution??? ask for other infos if you need!!!

If LG found nothing wrong with your device, and and only one operator has 4G working on that phone, it means that your phone doesn't support the bands other carriers are offering.
LTE bands for this phone (855) are 700 Mhz,800 Mhz, 900Mhz, 1800 Mhz, 2100Mhz, 2300 Mhz and 2600 Mhz.
Also, worth noticing is that the coverage differs from carrier to carrier.

i don't think that the problem is that, here are the LTE bands of the main italian carriers (included H3G):
-Telecom Italia: 800 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2600 MHz;
-Vodafone Italia: 800 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2600 MHz;
-Wind Telecomunicazioni: 800 MHz, 2600 MHz;
-H3G (3 Italia): 1800 MHz, 2600 MHz.
i have tried each one of these but the only one that works is H3G indeed and besides is the only one that doesn't own the 800 MHz band, so maybe the problem is that my mobile is not able to connect on this band (although it is available as you mentioned in your specs ). so is there a solution? p.s. on my old G2 work all four of them so it is undeniable that my G3 has a problem, i want just know if this problem is resolvable by myself and how!
whatever thank you for the help
