Lockscreen widgets mess up when playing music via walkman

Whenever I play music via walkman or Google play music, I have no widget on lockscreen to play/pause music. Not only this, I can't even access my other widgets on lockscreen. Any solution or fix for this?
By the way, I'm on .67 firmware.

After finding a solution on Sony-mobile forums, I almost closed my google search results tab, just before spotting a result to this post. Thought I'd check out if I can help. So it seems. Maybe you already fixed it, im still gonna say this
SmartKey app seems to be the problem. Check if u have it and uninstall it. Then the widget should show up when playing music.
If not, another solution may be to clear data on the lockscreen app and FC it. (advice from Sony themselfs, which didn't work for me, but hey what else can you try )
FYI: There's no stock permanent (staying even when not playing) widget for your lockscreen, but PlayStore has a Walkman Widget app which gives you this, if you really want it.
Hope this works for you.

Removing HTC apps

Anybody know how to remove the HTC apps like people, messages, mail?
Also is there a Google version of the people app?
Is there a way to get stock Android lock screen?
Only if you can disable them, otherwise you need root.
To replace people:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.contacts&hl=en

You can't disable the apps I mentioned (I did with others) and it says my device is incompatible with Google contacts for some reason!

Not sure if this is the most recent version but you could try http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...ontacts-1-1-android-5-1-android-apk-download/
Sent from my HTC 10 using XDA-Developers mobile app

Managed to find and install the latest version but still didn't make it show up in the play store so decided it's not worth it right now I guess.

Why should it show up in play store? Maybe the screen dpi or something needs to get updates in the app to show up. If you installed it from the source I send, you should be able to use it. No need to update

I can't be bothered to keep manually checking if a new version comes out etc so was hoping perhaps installing apk would force it to show in the play store. Plus I still can't get rid of the HTC people app.
DPI seemed fine to me so not sure why it's not there.

possibilities of removing google app from 8.1.0

Im still running 8.0.0 just so i can swipe remove from google now. i heavily use it and i have seen where upgrading to 8.1.0 it also update Google app and no way to go back.
So i was wondering if it was possible to remove google app from factory image some how?
The app (Google) can be disabled in Settings-> App &
Notifications. Is this not enough?
If you're looking to stay on your current version of the Google app, you'll need to download or copy the APK and use "adb shell pm install -r /path/to/google.apk"

Google branded phone, Google-invented software, and you want to get rid of Google?
Eh?
Just to clarify, he wants to update to 8.1 but keep the Google cards from 8. Because the update removes the ability to swipe away cards on the first page.
Not sure why folks are missing that, I thought he was pretty clear.
To the OP, you are going down a road that will be hard. Even if you port over the old app to 8.1 it will update in the background without you even seeing it. There are a a handful of apps and services that are server side pushes. I don't see a way to stop it from updating.
I looked into it quite a bit, for the same reasons you are.

No he doesn't. He wants to continue using the old GA functionality of swipe to dismiss feed cards, instead of the "new and improved" way where you have to first tap the 3 dot menu and then tap "hide this story" for every.single.article. Google really screwed the pooch on this one, and it doesn't look like it's coming back.

Is there any way to enable MIUI 10 gestures for AOSP rom?

I'm currently using Pixel experience AOSP rom as my daily driver, But i'm starting to miss those old gestures of miui 10. So as title says, Is there any way i can enable those gestures on my current ROM?
Yes, Fluid Navigation Gestutes app from Play Store. It's even better than the stock gestures, since u can customize many things (some are only available in the paid version, but its dirt cheap).

If you don't want it as third party app, then Transfer it in system apps.

Question Is there a secret to hiding the Google discover page?

I just got the 6r and I can't for the life of me find how to discover the Google discover page that comes on the left page
Since I can't use a 3rd party launcher this is already a big enough annoyance to make me sell the phone tomorrow
I absolutely hate having more than 1 page on my home screen
what's Google Discover? is it the one where it tells you the news and can do google searches?

Yeah
I've never seen a launcher that doesn't allow you to disable it
WOW, RM still has horrific sw. What phone doesn't allow you to change the launcher? WTF?

I mean... you can use a different launcher, but you can't use gesture controls with them. I've had too many oleds get the nav buttons built in to ever go back to use that again.
ah yes I know what you mean. It's the first thing I tried to disabled and found out you can't. I think the Youtube reviews don't reflect how pants this phone is at being a normal phone. It's amazing for gaming, sucks as a phone.

I honestly can't even make sense of why this is a thing
The only way I can figure out to get rid of it is disabling google...which then removes the ability removes google search
I tried that and it still shows on mine. I use duck duck go as a browser anyway. But then I found out that you can't do an app search like on a Samsung where you pull down the screen and it allows you to search for an app. You go in that news feed thing and type on google the app and then it shows it on your phone too.
