Fast charging compatible accessories are on the way. I've Tweeted to both Anker and Aukey and they confirmed they're in the works.
Sent from my Sprint Galaxy S5.

I ordered an Anker 5V/2.4A charger to try. It'll be the one I leave at work, as long as it works at all. I'll report on it after my phone comes in Thursday.

Aukey 10000mah quick charge doesn't do anything but all my anker batteries are reporting "rapidly charging".
Aukey 54w 5 port also reports rapidly charging on all five ports including the qc one?
Edit the aukey does charge and reports rapidly charging too
So it seems everything i own is rapidly charging it? I'm more confused than anything else

Charging speed

To power up, you consume Red Bull. But your phone just needs its adaptive fast charger. Rate this thread to express how quickly the Nextbit Robin can charge. A higher rating indicates that it charges extremely fast.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Charging speed with a Quick Charge 2.0 adapter is as expected: excellent. It is in line with other phones with the same capability.

I'm not sure, but I've tested it with Aukey (wall) and Anker (car) chargers, both work fine with Quick Charge 2.0 speeds.
I charged with the official charger and a Iselector Qualcomm quick charge and nothing as well. Iselector worked on both the V10 and G4. Not sure why this is not working
Nevermind. Charging fast now. False Alarm lol
I thought the charging speed was great when I wasn't paying attention, but when I did actually pay attention and time it, it took about 1 hour and 40 minutes to fully charge. So, I would check into that. Also, the Robin doesn't seem to be USB-C Power Delivery Compliant to deliver the rapid charging like the Nexus 6p and Nexus 5x does, so getting fast charging from USB-C chargers that take USB-C to USB-C cables is useless, you'll get standard speeds. So please implement USB-C Power Delivery in the successor to the Nextbit Robin, so we can enjoy that fast charging technology as well, in addition to Qualcomm Quick Charge fast charging technology.
I am waiting for my Robin to be delivered. I am really confused about the charger. Does it show anything on the screen when a proper quick charge 2 charger is used. Like, in my Nexus 5X when I use original charger it shows "charging rapidly" but when I use another charger it shows "charging" or "charging slowly" depending on the source.
I'm from Bangladesh and it's hard to find a certified QC 2.0 charger. Is it ok if I buy a charger which is has 5V2A or 9V2A or 12V1.5A written on it?

What version of the os?
With a Qualcomm 3.0 charger and 3.0 cables, I get 2500ma speeds (12.5w). Only when charging from less than 50% though. The charging speed slows down as you approach 100%. The lock screen should say "charging rapidly" if it's working though.

QC 3.0 Powerbank

Hey,
As one of the first devices to support Qualcomm's QuickCharge 3.0 it seems like a great idea to use a QC 3.0 compatible Powerbank on the go.
Not only is it said to be more power efficient, it's definitely faster, the shorter your stuck on a Powerbank, the better right?
So has any of you used a QC3.0 Powerbank before?
A list of certified devices is shown here: https://www.qualcomm.com/news/onq/2...accelerating-hundreds-devices-and-accessories
Aside from the QC 3.0 aspect, I'm not sure what's better. Going for a small 4000-5000mAh device that's handy but charges your phone just once, or go for a huge 16'000mAh brick which will charge it 3-4 times?
I've never had a Powerbank before. Until now I've always reached a wall outlet before I ran empty.
Im actually waiting for anker power bank qc 3.0 to come out, talk with them and seem will be launched this month
I bought this RAV Power 20100mAh unit that is QC3 a couple weeks ago, I've used it with my M9 (As my 10 hasn't arrived yet...) and it seems to work great so far. It costs a couple bucks right now but so far worth it to me...
http://www.amazon.com/Qualcomm-Certified-RAVPower-20100mAh-Technology/dp/B019IFIJW8
I would avoid anything by Aukey, I've had a couple ones that were QC2 go bad and their customer service response is not good at all.
I'm waiting for choe tech one to arrive and I'll review it as soon as I get it

Nice.
As I doubt that you have a QC3.0 compatible USB Powermonitor may I ask you to use Software to Benchmark a Charging situation?
Using the App Battery Log ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=kr.hwangti.batterylog) you can simply start the service when at 5% Battery and the Powerbank is connected.
5% because everything below is bad for battery health if you do it to often, and everything above isn't really a full charge.
When you receive your phone and have time to play around, that is
I hope the Powerbank is able to charge the phone as fast as a wall charger.
P.S did you know that RAVpower is not on the official list from Qualcomm for QC3.0 certified devices?

Turbopower is Qualcomm's QC 3.0...
Any adapter that supports it will work fine...

Do you have the Anker 18W USB Wall Charger https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016LO4UTA/ in hand? I am trying to get hands-on validation vs theory.
I rather not spend $25 https://www.amazon.com/forum/-/Tx3AP6362WYWF2K/ref=ask_dp_dpmw_al_hza?asin=B071HYYB4P "Another 15W QC3.0 certified charger could supply TurboPower to the Moto G5 Plus We don't want to definitively state there is not an equivalent charger to this one for the G5 Plus, but there should not be a superior alternative as this charger was specifically developed for the G5 Plus."

Does anyone have a Quick Charge 2.0 wall charger in hand to confirm it charges with TurboPower? If yes, what is the model #?
I rather spend less money on a Quick Charge 2.0 wall charger than a 3.0 since the use case is to charge at the office. Ex. $10 for the SPN5864B

as i once wrote here https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5-plus/accessories/chargers-t3584554
this charger http://www.gearbest.com/iphone-cables-adapters/pp_322054.html does turbocharge the g5 plus without issues
I have multiple QC2 and 3 chargers around the house, and they all work fine
they always will because TurboCharge is just rebranded QuickCharge
SPN5864A = success!
I purchased a SPN5864A Wall Charger with a SKN6461A usb cable for $7.49 USD on ebay - LINK
"Motorola DROID Turbo 1.6 Amp Rapid Home Wall Charger SPN5864A - Super Fast Rapid Charging Charger - 15W of power - 1.6 Amp charger. Will charge Motorola devices with Adaptive TURBO Charging technology built in at an even faster rate! "
While the lock screen did not show the words fastcharge or turbocharge; AccuBattery did show the night and day difference. Screen caps of the old 463 millamps (mA) vs new SPN5864A charger 1989 mA pasted below.
Guess I'll go with the SPN5864B
Any Samsung charger for one of their last 3 or 4 flagships should work just fine. I literally have a bag of Samsung chargers from the S5 and S7 that all have the same ratings and work to Turbo charge the G5 Plus just fine. I use the Samsung charger at home and leave the Turbo Charger at the office.
I have a Asus Zenfone 2 18w charger (9v 2a, 5v 2a) and turbopower works perfectly when charging the G5 plus with it (got around 2400mah readings on Ampere app). Just in case anyone has one laying around, it's an option.
We use these around the house and for travel and they all work as you would expect.

I have a Tronsmart 5 port desk charger and a one port mini car charger, both with QC 2.0, both charge stupidly fast, both are awesome (just now, like half an hour ago, I plugged in my phone. at 14%, been watching YouTube all the time at full brightness, 60% charge).
I can add links to the chargers if someone wants, I'm just too lazy to do it right now.
The Samsung adaptive fast charging brick works for me
Huawei FCP Adapter - Huawei own variation of QC 2.0 also Turbo Charge G5 Plus.
Just ordered Xiaomi 10000 Power Bank 2 link --> https://www.gearbest.com/power-banks/pp_492337.html?vip=4087096 <-- and Turbo Charge works fine as well.
I bought a genuine SPN5864A on eBay for 7$. It has performed as intended since I received it.

all my usb-c pd chargers report slower charge speeds than the stock 25w brick.

Guess we will hear more about this later with ppl with the proper equipment to test this, but i'm just gonna base this off the phone notification.
I'm getting the same estimated charge time using my 30w macbook charger, 60w monoprice usbpd charger, 18w usb-pd anker power bank, as a standard adaptive fast charger I have in the house (15w i think?).
Meanwhile the 25w brick that comes with the phone cuts the time by about 10min or so vs the other options above.
I did read about the 45w situation to be tricky, but this is the first time i've heard about the 25w charger being special in this way.
Would love to see more tests and see if there are 3rd party solutions that can get the full 25w speeds, and maybe the 45w ones.
hopefully its not a oneplus situation where you can only get the best stuff from their own first party chargers.

I was thinking about this. I tried the usb-c -usb-c cable that comes with the box on other chargers and sadly this didn't change anything.
Think you need the proper cable and proper PPS configs on the PD brick to get this working.

Yes you are correct. A special USB-C cable with an embedded chipset (E) is required along with special PPS. At this early stage I'm not certain many (if any) third party vendors meet these requirements. The only safe bet is the Samsung- branded one.
CONFIRMED !
i have a aftermarket 45w home charger and aftermarket 45w power bank.
both WONT charge at 45W, it charging like 15W.
when i plug in the stock 25w charger, it charging faster.
I have an Anker duel charger that has 45W USB C and a USB A. The USB C is rated at 45W and the USB A is rated at 15W. The 25W charges faster than the 45W. (at least what I am seeing)
Good info about the special cable. If we need a special cable... Where do we find it?
I do have to say, it charges fast with the 25W one.

Ill check mines when the phone comes later today.
But i do remember reading that it used a different voltage/amp set.
Which if the charger doesnt support it. Then it would default to the lower one.
I.e.
If your charger is 5v 9v 12v 15v
But the phone needw 10v
It would default to the 9v.
Cant remember where i read this. But was a prerelease testing
The safe way to go is to use the samsung official chargers, that are precisely tuned for this, I would not risk a brand new somewhat expensive device
What is this telling me? phone says fast charging.
Using an Amazon Basics 60watt PD charger.
Another screen shot
yeah the phone claims it is rated for 10V at 4.5A and most 45W chargers use 15V at 3A, so likely to be nothing on the market fully capable of charging at super speed at the moment.
as for the USB cable it is a subset of USB 3.1 Gen 2, basically you need a cable with a chip in it, that chip allows you to break the 3A limit on standard cables. I've ordered this as I wanted a longer cable for my standard charger and should work with the 45W if I get it down the road. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B073RY5JZ3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

the cables i listed are what I use now. I have a 1TB 12.9 ipad pro and picked up these cables to use with its fast pd charging.
this charger:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TC53ZYD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
is not PPS but it does have 9 Volt at 3amps. i tested it with one of my note 10s and the ipad from 10%. im using a 60W anker brick for the ipad:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BQJWDRM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and the newer ravpower brick charged up much faster. again not pps (pdo) but it is fast in my less than scientific testing.
I'm just gonna use my $200 Samsung pre order credit to buy several oem or 45 watt chargers.

Edit From My Post Below. As I looked more into this, my wall charger that came with my phone is just a small 25w box EP-TA800 which I don't understand why accubattery says its getting 5,000+ mAh from it but needless to say the baseus car charger below is able to supply the 25w means while my Anker charger doesn't https://www.amazon.ca/Anker-Charger...rger&qid=1575374418&smid=AREE309N4XPXI&sr=8-5 . It looks like I need a new cable to make this 45w thing to work, if it even works with baseus. but still better then the pixel 2 xl 16.3W charging speed. But even if one where able to achieve 45w charging speeds. It would only be good for the first %50 the rest cuts down in speed.

The charger said 26.2V, 9.32V and, 2.75A and its able to support 15V at 3A and 20V at 2.25
Supplying 24V to the Baseus car charger, it only supplied 9.32V X 2.75A = 25.63‬Watts which is about the same just using 12V
My current cable only supports PD 2.0 60W, 3 Amps
The 100W cable says it can do PD 2.0 with Gen2 https://www.aliexpress.com/item/329...chweb0_0,searchweb201602_6,searchweb201603_52
Not all cables are the same. But i'm calling this as a good 25Watt charger with cable combo just untill it burns out
Its pretty crazy that Samsung chose the latest PD 3.0 variant with PPS, requiring the odd 10V at 4.5A. Clever heat management, but until now I came up empty finding the exact supporting charger other than the Samsung original who also seems to have its challenges. Not that I really would want such a fast charger to become my daily driver, fearing added wear on the battery, but for the rare occasion where I really need juice and do not have a powerbank handy, following if the community finds any solution.
