Frp lock, odin flash success but stuck on samsung logo - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+

Was rooted with arter kernel on COI5, but forgot to enable oem unlocking. phone restart then stuck on "custom binary blocked by FRP." odin (3.10.7) coi5 full tar and was successful in flashing but the phone does not boot past samsung logo. booted to recovery and reset and erased cache, but still no boot. help please!

Boot into recovery, restore backup.

Custom recovery isn't there, and FRP is on. Phone is able to get to download and recovery. No home screen

Odin stock firmware first
Then make sure that oem unlock is always enabled before flashing anything.*
Good luck!

Yep, I encountered this issue after flashing a rom that by default, had OEM locked. I didn't realize it until it was too late and then spent the better part of the day trying to get back to stock. Long story short, return to stock via Odin and try again.

Or use a service like mine that can just remove/disable FRP so that the phone will boot again

I have an i747 and after a week of research and trail and error I was able to get back to a factory working phone. I wanted to share my findings so that the next person may get up and running a bit quicker. First off, my phone was never rooted. I was getting it ready to sell and was going to factory reset it when I realized I forgot the system password. So I installed Kies and proceeded to factor rest it there. For whatever reason the reset did not take and after several failed attempts with kies the phone began to boot in ODIN mode. I built a USB jig and was able to get back into download mode but nothing would bring it back to life. Downloading the official rom from sammobile and flashing with ODIN3.07 would fail every time. Emergency recovery in kies also failed. So here was my final approach that worked. Maybe the wrong way to do this, maybe the long way to do it.. IDK.. but it worked for me..
1) get the official Samsung files from kies (google -"does kies store firmware")
2) boot do download mode
3) flash CSC file with auto reboot and F. reset time checked
4) boot do download mode
5) flash PDA file with auto reboot and F. reset time checked
6) boot do download mode
7) flash Modem file with auto reboot and F. reset time checked
* I closed ODIN between each step, might be overkill.
** I did not flash the bootloader file
I have read that it takes a long time the first boot, and I have been waiting 15 minutes at the SAMSUNG screen but it is still pulsing so i think it is still processing. If it is still at this screen in the morning, I will let you all know but this is further than I have been in over a week.
On a side note, when it crashed I took this into AT&T they told me over the past month or so they have seen numerous people with the same issue. All from doing a factor rest in Kies. My phone was out of warranty and they barely looked at it before asking me to upgrade. I took it to BestBuy and they fixed it from booting to ODIN mode but it still locked up on the AT&T logo, so I was back to square one.
Food for thought. How about waiting to see if your instructions actually work on your phone before posting them here for people with similar issues to use. Kind of useless if it doesn't end up working, huh?

Seems a pretty long route to take. If you are on an Odin flashable firmware version (e.g. 4.1.1), you only need to flash one partition - PDA. This updates all partitions to stock including bootloader, modem, recovery, kernel. The newer firmware versions - 4.1.2 & 4.3 are, however, not Odin flashable. Also, if you couldn't do a factory reset from settings because of password issues, you could have booted into recovery mode and done a factory reset there. This wouldn't require a password and would still have the same effect of wiping data and returning to factory settings.
If your phone is stuck at the Samsung screen for 15 minutes, then it's stuck. Reboot into recovery mode and try a reset there. If this doesn't work, then it means you have a soft brick you need to restore your firmware via custom recovery. Your phone is never hard bricked when you can get to download and recovery modes. Flash custom recovery via Odin in download mode. Reboot to custom recovery and flash a clean, complete stock image for 4.3. That's your best option now since you are selling

So like the true repository of knowledge we have here, Larry you are correct.. After about 30 minutes I decided it was really stuck.. So this time I watched the process I described above a bit more closely and as you stated the PDA file is all i needed.. but I had tried several from different sources including the office from sammobile and they always crashed. So what eventually worked for me was after being stuck at the samsung logo...
I booted into recovery mode
wiped the cache
factory reset it
then flashed with the Kies PDA file that I obtained in Kies in emergency recover mode.
This finally worked.
and as stated was a shorter route to take. The PDA that i used had 4.1.1 on it.
Thanks for the clarification in the fact that flashing with the PDA takes care of the bootloader, cache, file system, etc.

excitement over came me.
Still having issues
Ok, keepers of knowledge.. I have a phone that will boot up but I have no baseband version. It shows unknown.. I have tried just flashing the modem file but i still do not get it back.. if I try to flash anything other than the official files from kies, ODIN fails. My phone is now at 4.1.1, build JR003L.I747UCDLK3.
If I try to update via wifi with the software updater, it says I am up to date. If I try to update with Kies, it fails..
I am at a loss...
Please help..
Thanks in advance..

[Q] N7100 stuck at boot screen after flashing stock 4.4.2

Hi all, hope somebody can rescue me!
I have an N7100. It's been running stock ROM 4.1.2 for ages (rooted). I've rooted and loaded ROMs on a fair few devices over the years, but typically by following step-by-step guides - I'm a noob to all intents and purposes.
Last night I decided to upgrade to 4.4.2.
I did it without performing a wipe first.
Backed up apps and settings using Titanium Backup Pro
Downloaded N7100XXUFNE1 from Sammobile (sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=32635)
Loaded it via Odin 3.9
It worked, in a fashion, maintaining most of my data and apps etc, but I couldn't get wifi to turn on and I kept getting error messages saying '[App X] could not be loaded'
I decided to bite the bullet and do a factory reset (by booting into recovery).
I still couldn't get wifi to work, but my bootloader had stayed at ME3, so I decided to apply the latest bootloader (ND3) as I read somewhere that this could be the issue (I wasn't overly concerned about Knox as the phone is almost 2 years old now anyway).
I applied it via ODIN again, except loading the file into the 'BL' section rather than the 'AP'.
Since doing that, it's stuck at the boot screen 'Samsung Galaxy Note II GT-N7100' and the only way to get out of it is to pull the battery.
I can got into 'Download Mode' but not into 'Recovery Mode'.
I have tried applying MJ5 bootloader.
I have tried reinstalling the whole stock again ROM again
I have tried applying Philz_Touch_6.07.9-n7100 recovery
All show as having completed successfully in Odin, but none of them changed anything - I'm still stuck at the boot screen
Does anybody have any ideas of what else I might try?
Thanks

Have you tried flashing TWRP instead? This happened to me and got stuck on recovery boot, CWM and Philz Touch wonb't load. Flashed TWRP and worked like a charm.
I am having similar problem.
Tried to flash the TWRP Recovery from THIS via Odin.
Still phone isn't going past the Galaxy Note II logo.

Thanks for the reply.
It processes OK and Odin says 'Pass!', but then it automatically restarts and gets stuck at the boot screen again. Still can't boot into recovery mode.

Thanks for the suggestion. Just tried that, but unfortunately it just does the same thing ....
Man do this.....
Get older odin (personally my preferance nothing else)
Flash the latest stock rom that u have
It will say pass and the device will go into bootloop
Now remove battery any stick it in (just to stop bootloops)
Enter recovery (that shld be stock now)
And do a factory reset
If no recovery......get a custom one and do it
Then let the phone do its thing:good::good:

If u have any wifi or other issues.....flash the new bootloader. ....with AP not the BL...and done....
Hope this helps......cheers:good:

Thanks for the suggestion. I've tried doing just that (although not on an older version of Odin) and it hasn't helped, I can't get into recovery.
I will give flashing the Bootloader a go via the AP rather than BL when I get back from work tonight though. Cheers.

Hi, I do appreciate you're only trying to help but, as explained numerous times in the thread, that's my whole problem.
In summary:
The phone gets stuck on the boot screen
I can't boot into recovery
I can only get into the odin download screen
Flashing a full stock rom doesn't change anything
Flashing Philz, TWRP or CW Recovery doesn't change anything
Reflashing the bootloader doesn't change anything

Just to close this thread off, I've now paid to get the phone sorted at a local shop. Took them a while (think their first level support just tried all the things I'd already done), but their occasional staff member and all round guru managed to get it sorted. I don't know what he did as I didn't get the chance to speak to him. Cost me £30.

Bootloops After ODIN back to Stock Firmware

Hi guys,
I have the t-mobile s6 edge
After messing around with my device last night and this morning, I decided to go back to stock for a bit.
I have ODIN 3.10.6. I went into download mode on my phone. extracted the stock firmware from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6-edge/general/sm-g925f-s6-firmware-thread-t3078841
loaded the "G925TUVU1AOCG_G925TTMB1AOCG_G925TUVU1AOCG_HOME.tar.md5" file into the ap box for odin
connected my phone to computer, odin recognized it. hit start. ran successfully. rebooted, android guy came up briefly and said installing system update, then it changed to "Erasing..." then it rebooted again
now it's just bootloops forever after the tmobile screen. I can boot to recovery and it says installing system update each time I boot to recovery, but selecting reboot system there shows a no command error. force the phone to power off... power on again to bootloops.
tried to go into download mode again and reflash everything through odin, same issue!
I started last night by rooting using chainfire, then installing TWRPv2, then I flashed the 5.1.1 ROM available from @eousphoros (sorry for the tag, just thought you might want to be apprised of the issues in getting back to stock after using the 5.1.1 ROM).
with 5.1.1 loaded, smart switch didn't recognize the phone for a reset so I decided to go with the ODIN method and now i'm in bootloop city
any help would be greatly appreciated

You probably need to do a factory reset
In the future you should make a full backup before installing a rom

AHH!! Sorry to have made this post... here's what I did to get it actually boot:
reflahed the stock firmware through odin again, tried to reboot, it failed, obviously. rebooted to recovery, factory reset in recovery, power down option in recovery, then turned the phone on again and it magically worked!
hopefully this post will help someone who encountered the same issue

I had the same excat same thing happen when flashing this via Odin. I didnt need to Odin stock twice though . I just booted stock recovery and did a factory reset. After that I went ahead an powered down and rebooted . All good now
How long did you have to wait in the stock recovery to get past the "installing system update" screen? Mine just sits there and I'm unable to view other options in recovery.
EDIT for noobs (like me): wait 30 seconds on the "installing system update" screen.
I'm still stuck in boot loop
Im in the same exact situation , but I'm still stuck in boot loop. I followed your restore instructions and nothing. Please help.

Looks here, may apply to your case. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=63226466
Pp.
I initially used odin to flash OI1 update, after a rom I was using caused problems and I got bootloop. It changed bootloader value to b:3 and I'm unable to downgrade now so I used smart switch which didn't recognize device so used emergency recovery and still bootloop. I have factory reset and wipe cache multiple times along with adb side load and individual flashes of bootloader, modem, kernel, flashed custom kernel and twrp to access fix permissions and to mount partitions with advanced wipe etc and still wont boot past logo. Also during one fix attempt phone said can't mount system.. Idk I'm not understanding where the problem is .everything says successful but I'm still in bootloop. Please help. I've spent hours everyday for the past week searching & trying different things that seem might help so open to any suggestions.
Problem with Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini GT-I9195
Hi everyone
I'm new to the whole ROM flashing and using Odin. I had a bootloop problem and recovery mode showed all the options but has a green android man laying down with red icon above him and No Command below the android man. Tried the factory wipe and cache wipe but it gives some red writing with the word failed in the coding and the word error under the android man. Tried to flash a stock ROM from sammobile using Odin. Odin gives a pass but the same problems persist. Can someone please help?
any solution, i have this problem to? only bootloop, nothing else. Updatet bootloader with 4up

Let me start by saying I'm new to the Samsung world, I've had HTC android phones ever since the first Hero. That being said, I was able to update my phone to 5.1.1 and use the mostly stock OF7 kernel my phone booted up the first time, starting installing some apps, then decided to reboot it. Now it just goes into the boot screen that say Samsung and in red letters up top it says "Custom Binary blocked by FRP lock". Looking back I know I should have unlocked the bootloader when I had it booted up, but I forgot. Every time I try to flash a stock kernel in Odin, it pops up with the same message, but just says "Custom Binary (Boot) blocked by FRP lock". Is there any way to get my phone to boot up again, or will I have to wait until it's possible to download the 5.1.1 firmware? Even when that download is available will I be able to fix it?
Thanks in advance.
Are you able to flash TWRP in Odin? If you can at least get to TWRP you should be able to flash a custom ROM like Sacs23.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I've tried flashing TWRP in Odin and it fails and says "Custom Binary (Recovery) blocked from FRP lock".
Bummer. Are you using Odin 3.10.6? If so, then I'm stumped.

Sure am, I just hope that flashing the firmware download will work when it's available. Otherwise I guess I'm screwed

Yeah that would work and I should have done that before I restarted, but I forgot, and now I'm unable to get past the boot splash screen, and can' t access the stock recovery, pretty much the screen I can get to is the Download screen

Did you try the new TAT file of the 5.1.1. It's posted now on here. I had the same thing but I had Asurion insurance and they sent me a new device for $200 deductible.

My sm-920T t-mobile Galaxy s6 is now stuck in a boot loop on splash screen
I flashed the new note 5 kernel and firmware that just came out to it and everything was working fine until I restarted my phone and now I'm stuck in just the Samsung Galaxy s6 boot screen can't access anything but download mode do any of you have any useful info or files I may be able to flash through odin to get through this because my phone is now essentially now a locked down brick that was working awesome right before I restarted it for the first time I forget the devs. name who put out the kernel and firmware for the note 5 to work on the s6 but this damned frp block/lock has made my fully paid for s6 I just got a doorstop now and I'm so frustrated anything I'm trying to flash on odin AP. is failing and I'm just so angry. Can someone please swoop in and give me some possibly useful advice so I can get my phone to boot because it was fine..... Till the restart because just one program was f/c but I would've eventually restarted anyway so I guess once I flashed it I was doomed. DEVS PLEASE. I know someone in here has to have had the same problem and conquered it. I've tried everything in my limited repertoire. Thanks alot for any responses. I was on normal 5.1.1 s6 firmware previous was just rooted with custom recovery
Getting the same frp error. Everthing I flash through ODIN fails. Even flashing stock 5.1.1 OF7 fails. I believe it's because I was on OGA so I have to wait until the tarball for that comes out I guess. Unless anyone else has some ideas?
Try using ODIN to reload the bootloader. Google the how, there are many posts.
Hope it helps. That's what I did to get mine to work.
same-ish stuffs
So I have a new s6 on a sprint plan. Was stuck in like a boot loop with the same message in nice red letters kept coming up on the load screen. I was on OGA and had just tried to implement TWRP via the playstore. This started the boot loop. after reflashing the original rootof7.tar i had managed to get it break-free with a factory reset on TWRP(which was now working), only to have the battery die before I had a chance to do anything. after I had got it on a charger it started with the charge battery icon and the red FRP lock message. It would basically just loop there going no further unless i tried to full reset(all buttons) or download mode. Could not flash anything via odin (only recieved error messeges). Took to Bestbuy and after some shuffling around(geeksquad is terribad) I managed to get the Samsung guy to flash a stock OF7 and it works fine now. No more root or twrp and the knox reads 0x1, bu the phone is working now

can you tell me which stock rom did you use please.

925t stuck at boot screen after odin update to doj7

So guys, bought this phone used 3 days ago. The phone was rooted and the fingerprint scanner was not working giving some error. So I decided to get the phone returned back to stock.
I flashed the G925TUVU3DOJ7_G925TTMB3DOJ7_G925TUVU3DOJ7_HOME.tar file via odin 3.10.6. All files were successfully flashed with pass message but now i am stuck on the boot screen at s6 edge logo. I did a factory reset and wiped the cache but no luck.
The recovery shows an error of dm-verity verification failed... as well in the bottom. I can get the phone in download mode. The current binary is samsung official but in system status it still says Custom. I tried flashing G925TUVU2COF6_G925TTMB2COF6_G925TUVU2COF6_HOME.tar but it doesn't let me flash it as I read i cannot downgrade.
I have tried searching at different places but couldn't seem to find any appropriate solution as most of them are for cof6 or cof8 firmware. I would appreciate a lot if someone could guide me step-by-step procedure to get my phone working back.
Note: I think that the phone IMEI was also repaired as the IMEI on back glass and in the system does not match.
I also cannot get any assistance from t-mobile as I live in Pakistan. I could not attach shots as i have less than 10 posts so writing the status:
In download mode:
PRODUCT NAME: SM-G925T
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
FRP LOCK: OFF
Secure Download: Enabled
KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 1 (0x0301)
AP SWREV: B:3 K:2 S:2
Recovery error at the bottom:
dm-verity verification failed. . .
Need to check DRK first. . .
It sounds like there may be an issue with your IMEI. I think you should try and use Smart Switch on your PC to do an emergency recovery. It will completely wipe the phone and reset everything to how it should be.
Emergency recovery requires the serial number in order to proceed. You can get that by going into Download mode but before you hit Vol Up to continue hit Home instead. It will show IMEI and Serial Number (the bottom number).
Samsung Smart Switch for PC can be downloaded from Here. Install Smart Switch. Start up Smart Switch and click more in upper right corner. If you don't have the Samsung drivers installed you can install them from here. Or if you would like to reinstall them.
After you are done with drivers connect your phone to the PC and click more and click "Emergency software recovery and initialization" (the first option). It should ask for your serial number. enter it and it should start doing it's thing.
Hopefully this works for you and good luck.
Thanks for the fast reply. I flashed it using the smart switch software. The program completed successfully but still the same result. Stuck at boot logo and same dm-verity error in recovery
DM Verity Verification failed

Hello , if you still facing this issue after flash full stock
try to write unikernel v8-002 (remember FRP LOCK = OFF )
It must work ,
i am sure after flash Unikernel is will work
post result if not work
Thanks alot @jayshaa. Finally booted up... Hats off to you man...!! :good:
Sorry to disturb again... Today when I restart the phone, I couldn't pass the boot screen as I gave me the error Custom Binary blocked by FRP Lock. Frp lock turned on automatically and now I am again stuck at the boot screen. I again flashed the stock rom but the frp lock is still on. I couldn't flash the kernal as well because of this lock.
Someone please guide me to turn this frp lock off and get my phone working again.
Need to check DRK first. .
This error means at some point your efs probably was wiped meaning the drk was wiped... unless this is fixed the phone will boot loop everytime you update unless you flash a modified kernel...
So how do I fix that or turn frp lock off?
Anyone???

That can only be turned off via Developer Options in Settings. If you flashed a custom kernel then you cannot turn it off because you will boot loop. You must flash stock kernel. Or just reflash the stock firmware package.
After you get back to stock. get to developer options and turn off the FRP lock. Then you can flash away.
