Yeah! Lrs121, you rock. I use your vm/boost twrp build. You are the man for putting this up.

Heya. Have a Sprint GS3 as a test phone/for fun device that I fixed. Is your TWRP needed for this rom to function correctly?

Don't think so. His twrp has a different fstab so it works on vm and boost. So if you have a twrp version that works for your phone (2.8.7.0 at least), you should be fine.

Oh it just occurred to me that vm and boost are referring to carriers. *facepalm*

Yup, virgin Mobile and boost Mobile. I also have one with for my friends phone with a custom fstab for it. For some reason the official TeamWin builds never work for his phone so I make one for him.

How's this running for people? Things functional (camera, front camera, wifi, etc)?Just courious. Following with interest.

Wifi works, I'm not sure if it was just me, but facebook, messenger and snapchat were force closing. But thats just on my side, don't know about others. Didn't get a chance to try out a camera app

Its better than i though it would be on performance. Basically no hardware functions like camera or microphone work. Wifi, however, does work. Fun to play with new features, like google now. ON TAP. Most software functions seem fine (like system ui customizations). Thats about it though.

A bunch of commits were sent up stream. I'm trying to kick another build out but my boot drive went out on my desktop so I'm having to make due with slow hardware that locks up when I run a build and use the computer at the same time.

Actually booted very quickly for me. Definitely under 5 mins.

next build will require bootloader >= MD7 for compat and build reasons.

[DDK 1.9] OmniROM DDK 1.9 Test Version

Introduction
This is a test version of OmniROM with SGX DDK 1.9 graphics drivers, as well as many OMAP-related kernel updates. No, this isn't 3.4, but a LOT of TI updates were packed into the kernel. Currently, this is only for maguro, but anyone can build it for toro/toroplus with the sources.
Click to collapse
Features
The ROM and the kernel has a stock feeling - no mods were added.
Most notable new features:
- SGX DDK [email protected]
- GPU governor
- Enabled 384 MHz GPU frequency (as a part of the OMAP updates)
- Tons of background changes for the kernel
Click to collapse
Important notes
Camera and OMX is not working yet! This turned out to be a harder task for me to fix than implementing the new GPU drivers...
Other bugs are not known yet, but there may be some! Bug reports are welcome.
Thanks to everyone who helped me, especially Hashcode, as I used his repos as an example on how to set up things properly.

FAQ
How can I install this?
Just flash the ROM zip (and optionally GAPPS), and you're done.
Can I install this on top of Omni roms?
Yes, you should be able to do so without data loss.
Can I revert to non-1.9 Omni after this without data loss?
Yes.
Is this faster than the current ROMs/kernels?
As this is a stock-like ROM and kernel, not necessarily - there are no optimizations, etc added.
However, if one adds the optimizations used on current custom roms and kernels, this should be faster than them.
Can I install another kernel?
No, the new drivers require the ROM and the kernel side to match each other. Only this combination will work.
When will you fix camera?
I'm trying, but I don't have much success...
Can I help?
Sure, I appreciate any help, as I'm running out of ideas on how to fix camera and OMX.
Can I build this stuff myself?
Of course - everything needed is on my github. You'll need the following repos added to your Omni sources:
omni_android_device_samsung_tuna
omap (newpvr2 branch)
proprietary_vendor_samsung_tuna

Amazing! I will try out tommorow
I've installed it and it feels smooth, I've not encountered any bugs yet. Have you tried removing "kitkat workarounds" from frameworks/native?
Thanks for your awesome work
Nice work! Seems a lot more responsive although it may be placebo effect.
Thanks for posting this, I'm going to try building for toroplus, since we seem to get left out of the excitement so often. My internet connection is slow and so is my computer, so you will probably have everything fixed before I get a chance to even look for bugs.
Great work! I hope you manage to get camera working soon.
Amazing work bro, wishing u best of luck !!
I'm on F2Fs otherwise would have tested this asap...
Awesome work!
Thanks for the amazing work you've brought to the gnex, but since i'm on F2FS i was wondering if you could make a F2FS compatible version of this rom?

Yeah, but the glitches are still there. Actually, that may be a bug in android itself (it affects a lot of devices), they may have fixed it on L... and those workarounds are really not important, as the problem only comes when taking screenshots. And since android takes screenshots for the rotation animation, etc, those glitches appear there as well. The workarounds just force it to take screenshots on CPU-path, they don't change anything else.
I think they fixed it in DDK 1.12 (which is the next version after 1.9), but that's another story, as I think it does not support our GPU (but it may in the future).

Short answer: yes. I'm going to try grabbing the relevant code from MWisBest's githib. If it turns out to be too involved for my limited skills, it will have to wait until Ziyan submits the changes to CM.

OK I am going to be on board with testing for sure. I left a post in the now no longer current official thread that I flashed the last official build yesterday and I had perfect 3G to LTE to 3G handoff, rock solid WiFi strength, basically everything seemed to work very well. I am looking forward to seeing how things progress. I haven't been able to keep any of the official CM builds from bootlooping until now. Hopefully you stick with it because I am getting better performance from this device than I have seen in a long while

I should've had a machete to hack through the jungle of build errors from pulling a modified OmniROM device tree into a CyanogenMod build. Looks like the build is rolling now though, with any luck it might just complete successfully - who knows, it might even boot.
The only thing slower around here than me is my poor old computer.
Its kind of ironic that the Galaxy Nexus was the first official LTE device for Sprint and I am only just recently starting to get LTE on a semi regular basis.
@musical_chairs, take your time with your builds. I assure you that they are appreciated. Now that this device is actually getting decent (for Sprint) signal and still has current builds makes it more enjoyable to use than just about any time I can remember....I just miss Imoseyon's Lean kernels. I got GREAT battery on those. They were compiled in the now deceased (I think) CMRemix ROMs but the LTE is definitely a plus
Update: For now, I have stopped working on building CyanogenMod with the DDK 1.9 drivers. I was ending up with a completely unsustainable mess of a device tree, and was still running into build errors. If new drivers are what you want, use FML. I'll focus on keeping the regular CM builds updated for the time being.

Thanks for trying anyhow. I'm glad cm11 still has a fighting chance with the GNex, thanks to you, and all the others who are able to help out.
We're all waiting for cm12 to get to a buildable state. In the meantime, I've been working on upgrading my build box. My old machine was just barely capable of building android, the 'new' one isn't new but it was a real beast in its day. Time for a clean build has dropped from a day and a half to two and a half hours. I'm happy...

just curious, how difficult is it to compile roms? Do you need to know how to write your own code or is it over glorified copy and pasting with packages and stuff?

I do a lot of copying and pasting, a lot of reading guides, and a whole lot of google-ing. I don't know how to write my own code, but I have lots of experience with applying patches. Compiling roms is not that hard if you're a Linux user, have a working knowledge of the command line, and have a basic understanding of git. Take away any one of those things and it becomes a whole lot harder.
jd14771 said:
Yeah i haven't gotten to play with linux, nor do i know what git's are (i think they are large batch's of code posted in plain text?) . always wanted to try but don't have the time.

git is the software the devs use to keep track of changes in the code. Most Android devs have their git repositories on Github, those are probably what you are thinking of. Every little change (called a 'commit') has its own unique hash number. It's pretty amazing, you can look through somebody else's commits and find one that fixes a bug you are working on, or split tens of thousands of changes in half, then in half again, then in half again, etc., and pinpoint the exact commit that causes a bug on your system - though that's more useful in Linux kernel development than in Android.
I don't really have the time either, but it's such a fun hobby...
Using quickboot?
Coming from Vanir. Really like the facility quickboot gives. Anyone "enabled" it? I can't seem actually show the field to turn it on. Settings search finds it, but that's it... Noticed Dev options is hidden also. What's up?
Props for keeping CM11 updated. Really like I can actually use SMS in Hangouts.
I haven't been following the nightly changes since toroplus went dark, but I ran a build today--nothing special, just the latest cm...whatever changes they are. I could post it but don't know if I should make another thread or just link to it in here.
Anything substantial get added to general cm in the last few months?
I tried to run a build of cm12 but it looks like things still aren't ready for building yet, either that or I'm not sure how to switch back and forth between the cm11 repo and cm12 without getting repo update errors.

I got cm12 built and booting for toro for the first time today. I'm trying to get mobile data working on that, then I'll give toroplus a shot. Looks like it shouldn't be too much trouble. Feel free to post any of your builds here, or start your own thread if you prefer.
Here's my cm11 build from yesterday--equivalent to a plain nightly. It's been running fine since I dirty flashed it last night. Md5sum is linked as well and noted below.

For wifi we need to use static Ip. Working on a fix.
Just letting you all know, I'm the only member from Team Acid who has this device, but we will be working on getting some things out for this awesome device. As you can see, we have @RaverX3X working some magic on the ROM side of things, and we have @dsexton702 working on something to do with the Edge Technology. We would have a few people (@bhundven, @FBis251, @jeffsf, and @m4xm4n) working on the kernel end of things, but it would be hard since I'm the only S6 Edge owner on the team and I know nothing on compiling kernels and its very dificult to do without the device. Anyway, patience is a virtue. We'll have something for this device soon.
Someone should make a thread about ideas for what tricks/shortcuts they would like to see on the edge hardware e.g flashlight, gestures etc.

[ROM][7.1.1] Unofficial CyanogenMod/LineageOS 14.1 for Nexus 9

So... CyanogenMod is dead. LineageOS is taking it's place. The ROM is basically CyanogenMod but with changes to the name.
This is completely 'stock' from their source code, so this will encrypt your tablet, and will be prerooted (under Developer options in Settings)
Changelog is available at LineageOS Gerrit
There are no apparent bugs, but any bug reports will be welcome.
Gapps are available at opengapps.org.
Installation
Flash the latest 7.1.1 vendor image in fastboot (fastboot flash vendor vendor.img)

Hi,
Sorry there was no note attached to the build about this. I purposely removed this so that I could pass safety net by default on the ROM.
If you would like root instead of Android Pay, you can try either SuperSU or Magisk with phh's superuser. If you use Magisk hide, you should be able to get root while passing safety net.
Again, sorry about not noting this, I'll make sure I do later today.
Hi,
If you take a look at the download page, I've now added the reason root was and still will be removed. I've also posted a link to the vendor image and latest bootloader. I would recommend downloading the bootloader from Google themselves if possible. The newest source code for the Nexus 9 device tree has been merged into my GitHub however hasn't made it's way into the latest build (20161205). It will be in 06's build.
Sorry about the poor communication regarding root and the likes

Rom is working great!! But i have one problem: I don't have a mobile signal. It just says "no carrier" (in german "Kein Dienst") and i can't set up mobile settings. What to do?

That's probably because this is built for the non-LTE version of the Nexus 9. I'm gonna try and add flounder_lte to my build system tonight. I'll post a build sometime tonight or tomorrow if that's okay?

Yeah, great!! I'll flash it immediately when it's online. Going to try the stock rom now to prove that it's your rom and not the device. We'll stay in contact

Hi,
I'm a little late actually successfully getting an LTE version built, as the device tree hasn't been updated for CM14.1 yet. I'll make sure to mention you here when I've got one ready. Sorry for taking so long

No problem, i am aware that it's your freetime you are spending here.
Btw LTE works on CM13 and stock rom, so it's definately not the device. I'm looking forward for your build but i don't need LTE on my nexus 9 the next 4 days. So don't stress yourself :good:

I've actually managed to get one built, if you want to take a look. It's below the flounder section. I don't have an LTE Nexus 9 to test, so you'll to let me know how it goes

It's fine! Runs smooth like the non-LTE-version but LTE works! Nice
I tried your builds for 13th and 14th of December (WITH LTE) and they all don't get a LTE signal. Also no sim-toolkit installed and no APN-Settings.
I stay with your first LTE-Build, it's fine!
@hazzer: Thanks for your work on the Nexus 9. Any plans to support the official flounder builds?

[H815] Sailfish OS port

This is a port of Jolla's Sailfish OS for h815.
Standard disclaimer applies:
I take no responsibility if anything happens to your phone, if your alarm doesn't work or if it reboots when you call emergency numbers. Flash at your own risk.
Don't flash this if you need a fully working phone.
Beta? 1.1
What works:
Wifi, 4G/LTE, sound, calls, vibration, SMS, Jolla Store, GPS, accelerometer,
What doesn't:
Camera, bluetooth, stock browser (use web pirate), wifi passwords need to be entered after a reboot, some video playback crashes (can be fixed by using software decoding, for example gstreamer10-libav on openrepos)
Possibly more, please report any issues
Install instructions:
Make sure you have a backup of anything you don't want to lose, preferably not on the device
Full wipe (might work without)
Flash LineageOS 14.1

Ignore any "no system installed" warnings from TWRP
Please note that this is not an Android ROM. Your Android apps will not work until someone gets sfdroid working.

Would be nice for someone to test. Also, formatting needs sorted for this first post along with source code links etc
OP, just make few 'reserved' posts, you need to have 10 posts to post a link

That's a part of the tutorial. If it doesn't work properly, you can try to skip it by tapping the corners of the screen from top left clockwise.

It's easy os system and very attractive to use them, hope for the new update very soon.
Great news!
When camera and browser will start working I'll try the port, till then... it's too much alpha for me
Thanks for the port!

You can use an unofficial browser like Webcat instead. Camera doesn't work yet though. I'll try to release a version with qtscenegraph-adaptation fixed soon (fixes black images).
Hello! Are you still working on this?

Hey! I've been kind of busy lately, but I was thinking about updating it recently. I can try to compile a new version if you want (hopefully including a fix for the pink screen issue).
That would be nice. Also a little status update is Glas
Thanks! But take your time, life's more important that alpha testing
BTW, is it possible to dual boot android and sailfish?

You can dualboot by modifying fstab in the kernel and recovery to point the /data and /system to sdcard.
But you need quick sdcard to not be totally unusable.
Status update time!
I'm setting up the build environment on my new laptop (it's been a while since I last messed around with SFOS...) New version should be coming soon™ (hopefully within a few days). Trying to build with a newer version of LineageOS as well, so we'll see if that works.
Yes please. Would love to see this working. There isn't enough new stuff out there for the G4 and this would be awesome.

Seems like I lost some of the files from the last time I got things working... I need to find out how I got sound working, since now it no longer works... I'll see if I can get it working again.
Awesome.
