You should clear cache and data from the Xcam app if this doesn't work try to reinstall the app otherwise contact the developer

Thanks for your fast reply !
I tried to clear data and cache and i also reinstalled XCam but it doesnt help, photos remain dark with the Sport mode.
The stock camera is good but it annoys me when settings are locked, for example the ISO settings
Thanks anyway

You need light for sport mode the shutter speed is really fast only allowing for a little light throigh the appurture. Try raising gamma and contrast in xcam settings

In sport mode, ISO is locked to 400 and shutter speed is set to 1/30s (max), and it changes the shutter speed according to light (but it doesn't touch to ISO, it's always 400 even if you're capturing the sun)

Thanks for your reply!
I dont have the XCam LG Settings donation app, only the Free version.
In the Free version there is no Gamma and Contrast options , do you think it would be worth "upgrading" to the donation app ?
I like taking photos of moving objects and with the Stock camera i get awful blurry photos, but then again this is no digi camera...

I got the paid version got a few extra settings i got it more to donate to the developer cause in my opinion still the best camera app out there for g2 and g3

Purchased the paid version but one question, cant find gamma settings Sorry but i am not so good with phones

Gimme a few min
---------- Post added at 04:50 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:39 PM ----------
I stand corrected there is no gamma just contrast andthen. There is shutter control go down to sprts and maybe try slowing it down just a lite
---------- Post added at 04:53 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:50 PM ----------
A little. Mine stock at 1/30 try like 1/25 itll slow the shutter down some and maybe work if u goto far its like disabling sports mode itll make it to slow and fast objects will prob be blurry expierment cause the slower the shutter speed the more light will come in

Thank you very much , very kind of you to help !

No problem thats what where all here for

Camera shutter

I know this is probably on everyone's mind, so does anyone have a way to mute the camera shutter sound? I searched for camera muting apps, but none seem to be compatible with the E4T.
Is there a camera app that maintains the quality of stock while allowing muting?
Thanks!
edit: Not sure how to change this into a question thread

Yeah, but you probably don't want to root just to be able to mute the camera shutter sound... at least not just yet.
I've found it quite annoying how you can't mute the shutter sound despite the camera app I try.
I've gone into every app I have, that offers shutter sound setting, Set it to OFF, and the phone continues to produce shutter sound when taking pictures.
Is this a bug ?

Right. Not worth the trouble in my case, but it is pretty lame.
A coworker read somewhere that I could use Tasker to mute the system, so I'm working on that approach.
There is an app in the market called shut up! camera! Requires root but amazingly it works with just one press of the disable button!

Third party camera app until HTC tweaks their firmware?

I'm curious what you guys think. I've never used a 3rd party camera app, so I have no idea if they're even worth it.

I don't think that is necessary given the tweaks that are producing good results: capping ISO 200, knocking sharpness down - 1.5 and using medium resolution.

Sorry if this question sounds dumb, but you can either select ISO 200 from the settings screen or from going into manual mode and setting it to 200. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't this take every photo at exactly ISO 200?
How do you "cap" it meaning to allow the camera to select a lower ISO if necessary, but not to exceed 200? DSLRs will do this by selecting auto ISO with a 200 cap, or 400, 800, etc. Am I missing something or are you referring to simply setting the ISO to 200? I saw no setting of "auto with a cap".
Whilst waiting for the next OTA for my HIMA, I spent $3 for DSLR CAMERA PRO from Play Store, and it is giving +15% over the current state of stock camera though..

I will give that app a try. I've also been using Camera FV-5 and by the way, Flavio, the developer of that app says the next update will add the ability to save to an external SD card.
The XDA settings seem to help using the stock camera app. I guess it remains to be seen how much, if any, HTC can do with this sensor via software updates.
You're right.. even increasing all by 0.5 makes a huge impact..

I notice you have sharpness set to a +0.5. I thought the XDA recommendation was to set sharpness at a -1 or -1.5?

Yes, your picture was fine. I guess I'll just play around with sharpness a little to see what I like best. Thanks for your help.

Bumping because I'm stuck with an app for this "fine" phone.

Oversaturated Colour Profile in Custom ROMs

So all the custom ROMs switched to a weird colour profile in late-2017 that causes the display colours to become over-saturated.
Most people suggest using Kernel Auditor to adjust the colour values manually. However it isn't possible to achieve anything close to the default colours that are used in ZUI, even with the saturation level turned down and RGB levels tweaked.
A quick search on XDA shows a lot of other users who share the same frustrations. I realise a lot of people like this colour profile as it has a kind of AMOLED vibe to it, but it simply does not produce accurate and true-to-life colours like the default profile in ZUI does.
Is there some kind of solution to this issue?
How come no-one cares about this? Whenever I look at this phone I'm left amazed at how bad the colour profile is in comparison to stock ZUI. Surely people don't look at these colours and think it looks fine?
Agree with you totally on AEX 5.5 colours are too saturated, if some one can create a mod it would be wonderful.

Thanks for the replies. For now I am using Kernel Adiutor Mod by BHB27 which has some inbuilt colour profiles.
These are my settings which i use on every rom
Guys, since I made this thread I found that if you head into Kernel Auditor and set the Saturation to 32 as well as adjust all of the Red, Green and Blue to 240 each, it does look a lot more natural and more like the stock ZUI colours. But if you leave the RGB values at 256 then the colours still have a weird appearance to them.
I think setting a lower value like 240 in combination with reducing the saturation seems to 'flatten' the colour tones and highlights. Maybe it's worth trying because I am totally satisfied with these settings, at long last.
i am on pixel experience 26/05 , colour reproduction is much better than any other rom .
i have installed kernel auditor to see the settings of color .

LG G8 Camera Silent Shutter

Anyway to do this? Or is there a decent aftermarket camera app that works well with this phone that has the silent shutter option?

My Tmobile G8 has no such setting.
Last I checked, there are several Silent Camera apps in the play store, which mute the system upon opening the camera. I tried a couple free ones, but they were made for older phones. I haven't tried them all, I was hoping the community might help figure out which ones work.
Open Camera works well and allows muting, but it can't use the wide-angle.
My good old Silent Boot app also became outdated with this phone, so a new one of those would be great as well.
I have the unlocked Amazon Alexa version of the phone and I also don't have the shutter sound mute option under settings. I will check out a 3rd party camera app.
If I use a 3rd party camera app will I be losing photo quality over the stock app? That's my only fear

I just turn on DND temporarily. It turns that sound off. You could try to turn on vibrate only too. It's a hassle, I know.

Nope, not on this Tmo version of the phone. Which version of the G8 are you using?
Did you mean the app "Open Camera"? In the latest version of that app, it's under "more camera controls".

Most other apps I've tried aren't well integrated, have different processing, or won't use the wide camera.
We need either root (hah!) or a new Silent Shutter app that mutes the phone when the camera launches. The apps I've found on the play store are for older phones, let's hope a new one comes out soon.

I saw that the app detects whether my phone is running light mode or dark mode and adjusts home screen accordingly. I love the live wallpaper when on light mode but I don't like light mode at Al and I prefer the dark mode. But I don't like the way the app works in dark mode.
Any solutions?
And if you make one, can you please make it in full resolution? It's too blurry. My device is flagship so I don't have performance issues. Please sir. Please make the app

Please sir, please modify the app. I don't like the linuxct's port as the wallpaper goes dark if I use dark mode of my phone. And I don't like light mode of my phone. So, Please.

Thanks for the port! I am using a Huawei mate 30p so the linuxct version should work quite well but it kept revert to my original wallpaper after a while.
But I did not have any issues with yours. Thanks. If there is a higher res version with only bright mode, that will be very much appreciated. Cheers.
Yea man please if u have time and resources, mod the linuxct's port to be day mode only, despite devices's theme setup.
