[X Force] Rooted! - Droid Turbo 2 General

My MXF got root!
I use twrp for clark (moto x style).
Screen was upside down, so it little hard to hit in proper touchbutton - but works!
Installation update-supersu-v2.46.zip succeed!

booyah!!!

Does this phone work on Verizon?

Great ! Wonderful ! Cool !
I brought a mxf weeks ago. Could you help to share the step how to root it ? Thanks very much !

I thought this forum was for the Droid Turbo 2 not the X Force. I know MXF is the international version but this forum isn't for that. Mods need to separate

Download to phone update-supersu zip file.
Unlock bootloader and boot (not flash! - only boot from pc) twrp for clark.
Screen will be upsidedown, but touch layer work properly - in good direction.
Now fun - with upsidedown screen and properly touch layer you must hit 'install' button in twrp,
and navigate to update-supersu zip file.
After that, simply install this file, disconnect phone from pc and reboot.
Done - you have rooted phone.

i guess moto x style was close enough to work, GG all.
also you can contact the developer of TWRP of moto x style and just add the code for the upside down fix, its just one line.

It's just like the original Droid Turbo forum. By necessity, it was the all-in-one QUARK forum, until many months later the Moto Turbo/Moto Maxx got their own forum.
Right now, this is the all-in-one KINZIE forum until it gets separated, and Moto X Force users get their own section.
Right now, with the original Droid Turbo bootloader being unlocked, suddenly all the Droid Turbo users are asking about QUARK TWRP and ROMs..
So, watch and learn. You'll be using this root and TWRP also some day. Hopefully.

I'm testing Turbo 2 (Force is not available in USA) so someone else with Force should contact TWRP developer for Moto X. The best candidate is @damkol.
I'm still thinking should I buy Force or not. Turbo 2 (basically the same device) works really nice, battery life is good, has sdcard, like design (not one speaker but two holes) but Snapdragon 810 makes device really hot quickly for average tasks. For example in just 5 min of recording full HD (not 2k).
Anyway, I like how things are going so far. In just few weeks, thanks [email protected], Force get unlocked bl and root. Without any active developer yet. Hopefully some dev will get device soon and then fun can begin

I send message to twrp team with many details few days ago. Still no response.

@damkol:
Could you maybe point out how exactly you unlocked the bootloader of your MXF? As of now, i tried unlocking it via the official unlocking page and it said, my moto x force is not eligible for unlocking.
At least for now, i figured.

Team-Villain ROM Kernel Updates (optional)

For anyone who doesn't look at the VillainROM forums often, I thought I'd post the updated kernels I have made for some of the ROMs.
More to follow, and this is OPTIONAL, and at your own risk. It should fix green camera issue.

This is behnaam's Ben#8 kernel (sorry, I forgot, as I typed this up as i was leaving the house)
Can I use this kernel with VanillaEclair? Or only for Villain stuff only?
villainrom 5.5.0 - no green on camera CONFIRMED - working for me.
thanks
Dude, you made my day. A camera fix exactly on the day of my first outdoor dance festival.
I was on Chronos but moving back to villain as we speak.
Thanks a lot m8

Its touch anyway isnt it? Is for me anyway.
And it really shouldnt be rom specific
Not working for me. gives a lot of errors at start (about cache etc), can't install zip because "Can't mount /sdcard/"
edit.: also twrp and prew. CWM are not working. maybe my device is dying. (

[Testers Needed] Flash Image GUI

As the developer of FlashImageGUI, I'm always seeking to expand product support and coverage. I added support for the HTC One XL (AT&T One X) today and am seeking a tester or two that can test the application on their Tegra HTC One X.
Only two simple requirements:
1) Familiar with ADB (I can help with the commands, as long as everything is setup and working)
2) Familiar with the custom recovery (able to make and restore backups)
If you're able to help test, feel free to drop by #gen-dev on irc.freenode.net and ask for me. http://webchat.freenode.net
I'll link you up with a beta version and we'll walk through flashing a few kernels/ROMs. Thanks for the support!
Well we have niether s-off or the ability to flash to boot (other than through fastboot). So kinda limited really. If you think it`ll work with those crappy limitaions i`d be happy to test. Would be great if it did.

s-off is not needed, only htc official dev unlock.
The htc evo 4g lte, evo 3d, one s and one xl only required htc dev unlock, not s-off.
If you're able to test PM me or visit me on IRC, irc.freenode.net #gen-dev.
Thanks!

If I remember correctly, the HTC unlock method for this device didn't allow write access to the kernel partition while booted in Android, which is odd because the same "official" HTC unlock method on other HTC devices does allow write access to the kernel partition while booted in Android.
If the device is s-off, the app *should* work, but I might be remembering something incorrectly as this was roughly 9 months ago and HTC has a bit too much variation in their security implementations....
wow great! it would be nice to finnaly have something like this handy on our X. anyways, im kinda busy these days, but if other testers dont respond in 1-2 days ill MAKE time.
cheers, and thank you

Phone awakening is so slow

Hi fellows,
I'm using the P8000 for 3 days and there is something that is super annoying.
The phone response time, where pressing the lockscreen button to awake the phone, takes like a 1.5 sec
There is a way to speed it up ?
Thanks,
Tamir.

Elephone even officially supports flashing different ROMs and such so what do you think? You can easily go back to stock and will then receive the update.

That did not work TWRP says 4 errors occured while flashing process, but without deyails.
I downloaded twice, thought that a bad file might be the reason, but no.
In developers options the "root" options are extended though, but take no effect when root is activated. I installed SuperSu and tried to complete the .binary without success. I can't find my mistake ?
