NOTE: Anyone can get this deal, it's for new lines only, get $300 trade-in credit in store applied instantly. Must port in a number.
Get it will it's HOT! YMMV
Give thanks if it was useful

Honestly I would do this before the 200gb microSD promotion ends. That 200gb microSD sells for a pretty penny ($200). Honestly I would buy the phone, get the free battery+travel charger+200gb microSD, sell the microSD, and call it a day.
My cousin just got the V10 and its pretty slick. The 2nd screen is awesome for quick shortcuts and favorite apps. However the 2nd screen is LCD and when it is on all the time, at night, it looks kinda sucky. I wish they would have put an AMOLED screen up there so it only powered the actual pixels it needs while the rest can be off. It is pretty cool that it uses the proximity sensor to shut the 2nd screen down when in your pocket and face.
1 problem I see is the proximity sensor kinda sucks at keeping the screen off. And the proximity sensor seems to be off to 1 side. I can see this being a problem when on the phone and your ear constantly launching apps from the second screen.
The second screen would be really cool once development starts up on custom uses for it, but with the way LG is locking their devices down, it will be harder and harder to achieve root and unlocks for custom roms. Fortunately I like the LG software so much that I prefer it over most. But if the 2nd screen gets annoying, you may just have to turn it off and possibly have little to no options for the community to fix/tweak/customize the 2nd screen information.
I think if you have a LG G4... it would be stupid to spend money to move to this phone unless you just want to tinker and swap phones. There is really no benefit and the devices are pretty much the same. I held both in my hand last night and they felt the same. The 2nd screen could really make or break it. I don't really need it, nor want it on all the time (glaring at me at night). I would recommend you do a lot of homework on the functionality of that thing before jumping in (unless swapping phones is a hobby, which is fine).
The V10 seems to be the solid choice if looking to upgrade (from another device) but if you already have a G4... then it isn't worth it IMO.

I think that's already dead, the 200 GB microSD promotion ended on 11/15. So you won't get both, the current rebate and the microSD.
Personally, I consider the V10 more of a side-grade rather than an up-grade. The internals are pretty much the same (save for that 1 GB of extra RAM you probably won't notice). I think Snapdragon 820 next year will give us a reason to upgrade, the V10 doesn't have much that the G4 doesn't have. And it's bigger to boot, the G4 is about as big as I can handle.

T-Mobile Should Die

I have had T-Mobile for quite some time now. I assumed they would follow the same pricing plan as all the other US carriers for the GS3. Not so much. They are charging $130 more for the GS3 than all the other US carriers. This is unacceptable as far as I am concerned. I might be switching to US Cellular in the near future.
While a corporation is a juristic person, they cannot die only go bankrupt.
And since T-Mobile and AOL share the same trait that they are practically invincible and timeless... big chance.
However I don't understand the point of your flame.
It's a corporate's given right to charge whatever they want for a feature, product or service (unless of course it's FRAND or otherwise restricted).
Just as it's your right to compare and choose between companies and pick your carrier.
It's like you're flaming about one grocery store selling the bread for 5p more than the store across town.
Also, if you run the numbers, you'll find its a LOT cheaper overall because the plans are so much cheaper. Just to move our 2 voice lines to minimum family plans (we've got 600+ mins now, but only use 100 or so) and basic data to AT&T was going to cost $50/mo MORE than tmob.
Also, IIRC you can go value and get it around the same price-point as other providers if you pay $20 extra a month on your bill.

Exactly. I didn't think twice about the higher price b/c of the massive discount. only thing closer is Sprint, but I won't see LTE in Denver for a year+.
Ordered my SGS3 Pebble Blue with 32 GB int. storage. I ordered by phone at 6:15 am Eastern Time. I paid with tax a little over 400 bucks.I get 50 back with mail in rebate I think. Very excited about getting this beast. Now I'm off to find a great case and there are tons available.
There is also a T-Mobile GSIII forum now to express your 'feelings' in. Just saying.
Yeah, but he REALLY wants T-mobile dead.

Broken Display [UPDATE]

So there I was, riding a bicycle at work and like a badass that I am,I decided to go hands free. Well, some mysterious force decided that idea wasn't going to work out today and down I went. Got a few scrapes and bruises, nothing major but my phone.....oh dear. Like any loyal phone, it took a hit for me and in exchange it gained nothing more than "thank you" and a completely broken display. (I'll post some pictures tonight when I get off work). Anyhoo, I turn to you guys as to what I should do from here. I have a few ideas but not entirely sure which would be the cheaper/faster solution:
1) I am with T-Mobile and my headset insurance transfered over to my GN. I could send it in for repair which I'm not entirely sure T-Mo will honor my phone and pay a deductible. I imagine its somewhere around $150
2) Purchase a $180.00 display from Amazon and repair it myself.
3) Report the phone as lost (not sure how well that will work)
Thats all I have in mind as of now. Please guys, need some desperate advice. Cannot go without my GN :crying:
I would try to go the insurance way first and if you don't like what they say about it, they'll probably give you an estimate or something, go to option #2
Option #3 is actually insurance fraud and I would be careful to even post about it...
I'll give them a call later and get an estimate. My only hope is that it wont be too much. As far as the lost claim, thanks for that info. That was actually a suggestion from a co-worker didnt know how it would even work out.
How about a sale price. I could sell it on eBay and buy a brand spankin' new GN. The phone boots and everything, its just the display thats completely gone. You reckon I could geet ~$100 for parts only?

I doubt you will be able to earn much from a broken Gnex on ebay. Best bet would be that you "lose it" you know like, riding the bike and it slip from you. If you want to go legal, check how much it would cost you to send it to their repair center. Usually it's around 150$ (that's exactly how much it costed to me last time i broke my phone), but it might change depending on your carrier, why it's broke, etc. I would say that you try to change the screen yourself on a last chance hit. Pretty complicated and if you have broken connector in phone, you will pay for nothing.
Wouldn't reporting it as lost be insurance fraud or something? Don't do that
So turns out Asurion doesn't cover it. After being told by T-Mo initially when I first got it that It WOULD be covered, I now get a no. Paying Premium Headset Protection for nothing, magnificent. My only options right now are to sell it for parts, I find ~$100 a semi-reasonable price seeing as how the display is only $150 ish.....250 for a fixed GN is not bad. I would then be purchasing a brand new GN...
For the curious:

I'm posting an update with the intent of helping others who may run into my situation, where the insurance company doesn't directly cover the GN.
So after going through days of complications with Asurion, much more than I typically care for, ( 3 Claims, multiple faxes due to them "not receiving them" and a week and a half of calling them every day) I finally managed to get them to somewhat cover the loss. Since the beginning they could not find the GT-i9250 model anywhere on their list of covered devices and they always insisted on the Nexus S, which is worth considerably less than the GN. I had to get in contact with a claims adjustor which could only give me a phone comparable which is completely understandable. They gave me the option between HTC Amaze 4G and the Samsung SGSII STANDARD (Whatever that means?). I ended up going for the GSII which I will be selling to buy another GN. I just miss my GN that much
Would the SGSII STANDARD be the i9100? Because the image they showed me did not look anything like the T989 (T-Mo SGSII).

That's about the pricing I was hoping for, so that's a definite yes on my half. Can't wait! Even if that's not the pricing for it, I'll still probably fork over the extra for it.
Hell yeah!
How did you find that? Good catch...

This is a great price, I was thinking it would be in the $300 range but this is just icing on the cake for the features it packs!

Yes indeed. Hoping to get it the day the become available!
For a smartwatch? Ehh, I'm a bit more on the border about dropping 250 for that. It's cool, but certainly not worth it.
Eh.. it looks really nifty, and I'd love to have it. But if I were to spend $250 on this, I would feel kind of devastated inside because for $250 (and $50 more), I can get something like the new Nvidia Shield Tablet, or a Nexus 7.
I was pretty damn happy with $250 [emoji33]
Do you think this will be available in stores the day of release?
$250 is the right price point for me i hope its available day of announcement
$250 was the amount that I decided would be cutoff, anymore than that didn't seem worth it, so I'm glad it is right on point. I will be getting this watch the second it is available.
I think I'll end up visiting the local BB on release day in the hopes of getting one. $250 isnt a bad deal IMO. I love my tech toys.
REALLY hoping there's not a delay for retailers such as Best Buy.
Know there have been rumors about multiple options via Moto Maker. I just want the silver one, and I have my own bands to change if I choose to do so. BUT, if Moto Maker gets a significant exclusivity-window, I'll be annoyed. A day or 2 is ok, but week+ is ridiculous. They've delayed this enough. I just want to use my $50 Best Buy gift card!! hahaha.
On the Android Wear G+ community, someone "in the know" posted that the watch would be ready for internet order only on Sept 5th.

I wonder if that will be for pre-order or if they will be shipping..?
The only thing that makes me think that the Moto360 won't be physically available on announcement day is this...
I got bored and searched Amazon for accessories for the Moto 360. About 10-12 screen protectors popped up from different venders. All of them had the same date for product shipping availability... October 18. I wouldn't care otherwise but they all picked the same exact date.

Looks great, but in my opinion is expensive for a watch that will get old in only months.
That's like saying your phone will only get old in months

Aggressive design caused Samsung Galaxy Note 7 battery explosions

I also read that Samsung actually knew the risk but decided to "push it". They paid for it dearly if that is true.
In any case, I returned my device long ago because there is no chance I would pay that much money for a possibly compromised device with many disadvantages. For the future, I hope Samsung wises up, starts making safe phones again and explains the situation, otherwise I can't buy from them anymore.
This isn't new "news", but having a major article highlight what we have pretty much known was the issue is nice. Hopefully Samsung sheds some official light on the subject, but they are probably hoping it just fades away so they won't bring attention to it. I really hope they don't lower the Display to body ratio on they next phones - one of the nicest things about the N7 is the high display to body size ratio. They were able to get a very high display to body ratio in the S7, with a bigger battery than the N7 even, without problems, so they can do it. Yes the N7 has the S Pen which takes up space, but there has to be a way to get a 3600 size battery (or bigger) into the next Note phone without having this issue. Maybe if they go with a slightly bigger display (5.8 to 5.9) that will allow more room to work with. Same high display to body ratio but slightly bigger display and internal room to work with. Very interested to see what the S8 has in store, as that will likely give us an idea on what the N8 will be looking like.
I just can't quite understand why making the size of the phone so thin is of such overriding importance, especially considering that most people want a phone with a decent sized battery that will last for a decent amount of time. Seriously, what is the difference if they put a 4 or 5k sized battery and the phone is .5mm thicker.
This is a bull**** article written by hacks who have zero journalistic or scientific credentials, or even skills. None of it is true.
The original batteries did indeed caught on fire ( not exploded) because of a manufacturing defect by Samsung SDI, which was fixed after the first recall by switching to a different manufacturer.
To get at the truth one only needs to look at the, GASP - FACTS.
There were five "explosions" after the first recall, and ZERO after the second.
complete bs and samsung knows it.
Agreed. The people saying it was an aggressive design are idiots. Other phones use the same aggressive design and even higher mAH batteries. We wont know the truth until samsung releases their findings.

We were promised official results before the end of the year. Let's hope that holds true.
Why do people feel so threatened by the possibility that this is actually true? It is obvious it wasn't batteries alone, since they x-rayed every single battery yet the still went pop. It is still obiously a rare problem and whoever wants may still keep their phone regardless??
We want the results from SAMSUNG themselves. Honestly, considering the very small amount of failures out of the number of devices sold....

Question 6GB version battery performance?

I'm almost decided. I'm buying the G30, and the battery is one of the main reasons.
I'm tempted to buy the Amazon-exclusive 6GB version. Everything else on board is identical; just 6GB instead of 4GB RAM.
However, would the 6GB affect battery performance vs the 4GB version, whose battery benchmarks are pretty much where I need them? Does anyone know?
Depends somewhat on the memory type.
My Note 10+ has a older generation of ram memory than the N20U. With 12 gb of ram all I notice is snappy performance with good battery life.
The impact of 2 gb of extra ram on battery life should be very small. 6 gb is the minimum I would have so it's a no brainer to go for the 6 gb variant.
Thanks! That makes sense and come to think of it my previous phone was 6GB too so I shouldn't downgrade.
Some interesting answers here if anyone else has the same question:

How RAM usage effects battery drain?
I'm really confused about Android memory management. I just read here that killing apps by swiping from recent list or using task killers won't save your battery but drain more because this cause ...

Right now I have two browser open. You'll want the 6 gb. I reccomend staying away from Android 11, it's a hog that gives little in return.

Hmmm... I don't know. For the specs I'm looking for, there aren't many more options out there.
Yes, the G30 is no flagship but it's got exactly what I want: great battery, it's not too large or bulky, dual sim, it doesn't have MIUI nor much bloatware, has decent camera.
I don't think I have many more options with somewhat decent specs, esp. at 6GB.
There's the G10 but it's got bad Wi-Fi, and all the 'power' models are worse in other specs, I think.

I never use wi-fi, it's a security risk. No need for it if you have an unlimited plan except as a hot spot.
By enabling only wifi updates then setting Playstore etc to only do automatic updates by wi-fi you can stop those apps auto-updates from raising hell. I use the wi-fi options like that
Get best rated phone with best specs in the class you're looking at. The more of that model sold the better the support and parts availability.
Consider used models in excellent condition as well; example, a Note 10+ 512 gb can be had for $650. Just check the display for burn in with Screen Test before accepting. B&H Photo gives you a 100% return policy on anything you buy from them.
Batteries are fairly easy to replace even on the 10+ so don't sweat that.
Nah, that approach doesn't work for me at all. It's not even about class, as not all the phones in each class have the exact same config.
Firstly, almost all flagship phones are huge anyway, and I don't like huge. Then they almost never have better batteries than this. A good phone is no use if you can't keep it on.
Then, many excellent phones use MIUI, which I loathe. And so on. I'm not above used and refurbished models, but only when they fit my requirements.
I don't have an unlimited data plan cause there's no need for that. I use 2-3GB total and that's how much I need.
Different strokes. Thanks for your help though
Is a Good phone. 90hz, Awesome! Big battery. It depends on the user how long it last...
If you don't use wifi, bluetooth, nfc and apps that eats power will last for a long time.
Very good value for the money.
New, not from the store, around 100$, in my region/country. 6/128 gb
I use Note 10+ 5g, the most beautifull phone. Good? Not so much. That 90hz (G30)over 60hz (Note 10), on the G30 matters! Huge price! I pay around 650 $ last year, in the summer. G30 moves better. Less bloatware.
Bluetooth seems to use very little battery on my 10+ in standby mode or in actual use. In 12 hours including 4 hours active usage it was at 1%.
Samsung's done a good job with their bt Buds+ it would seem.
I get 8 hours of Screen-on time & still 13% is left.
