[KERNEL][G800F][exynos] Overclock Kernel (1.6GHZ) (Alpha test) - Galaxy S5 Mini Android Development

ok folks, got a kernel for people to test if they can, G800F users only.
currently still working on this kernel adding items in, but it currently has usb-otg support and fixed overclocking to 1.6ghz (it seems to default to 1.6ghz at boot and i havent managed to find the code to stop that in this kernel yet).
wondering if people can test and give opinions please
kernel source is available @ https://github.com/DJSteve/samsung-kernel-smg800f
dropbox download link for tar.md5 file.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/1wt0anl2opcgqk4/boot.tar.md5?dl=0
please remember to backup before trying.
more changes coming very soon as i add new things especally tweaking memory management and diskio settings as those seem to be majorly letting down performance

The F users are lucky :|
we the H useres are poor :'(
good work though : )

what cpu does the H use again - havent had my phone long and am still trying to work out samsungs slightly mad model scheme

Snapdragone 400 quad
both h and hq have it

i may have a look at the h kernel next then as ive had experience with snapdragon cpus before. no way to test any kernel i build for it though :S

100MHz... What's the point?
Slightly better score on benchmarks, a bit shorter battery life and probably unnoticeable performance increase in daily usage.
But hey, I hope you can dig deeper with that and improve battery life with undervolting or something.
We're obviously weak with development here on S5m forum, gotta thank Samsung for releasing sh*tload of models in short periods of time.
Thanks anyway for your effort.

Ill be very happy to become a tester : D
ive been waiting for a custom kernel for our H for about a year :')

yes 100mhz currently is low, but as you say its a start point and will be working on it further aswell, the exynos 3470 code is a lot more messy to work out than the higher end cpus (ie exynos 4412 etc) so taking some creative coding to do some things

Rooting 5.1.1 required a modified stock boot.img i will upload it instead of the non modified so the root will work too

[ROM][4.0.4] Unofficial CM9 Nightly

This build of CM9 will only keep up with what is actually merged into the code for CM9. Primarily this was made because of how infrequent the building goes with the official nightlies, but now i continue on regardless of anything...

as per usual:
Code:
I am not responsible if you brick your phone, for any bugs in the rom,
or if your cat decides to eat your phone because its now full of awesome.
This build is very much identical with the official build, u can switch from official and my build without any fear of having to wipe your phone.. the only difference is that i have the build script change the cyanogenmod version to more reflect like a nightly
I'll start build in the evenings, probably take a little bit depending on how much is new and the real wait is me actually uploading it.. (I have terrible upload speeds!)
Known Issues:
None
Instructions:
Download rom
Go to recovery
Wipe rom if coming from another rom, u dont have to wipe if ur coming from official nightly
Flash rom
Flash gapps, this u dont have to do every time just when u first come to the rom (the rom backs up gapps)
Boot into rom
???
Profit!
the torrent file only contains the rom, it uses a webseed, code.google.com. u can use this if u ever have to pause to download or such.. u dont have to seed, i dont mind.. but others might like u to
Current and older builds can be found here: http://code.google.com/p/team-keyblade/downloads/list

looks promising, gonna try it out for a day or so and report back.
AOKP isn't on JB yet,so i think this would be the most customizable rom on JB yet !

*** D I S C L A I M E R ***
This is a work in progress...
I am not responsible if you flash this and your device gets bricked or anything happens to your device from flashing this.

Instructions:
1. !!!MAKE A BACKUP!!!
2. Flash the kernel.
3. Wipe cache / Dalvik
4. Enjoy and post results!
This is a OC/UC/UV enabled kernel, build from TMO Samsung JB(4.1) Source. Am just learning the basics and this is my first job! Hope you like and enjoy!!
Note: My desire is stock reliability with oc/uc/uv benefits. This kernel wont have all the bells and whistles, my goal is a daily driver beast. Enjoy and hit thanks if you like!
Tested on: FrostyJB v9
Everything i tested work(i did used samsungs source...)
*** C H A N G E L O G
v1.1c(optional)
Same as v1.1b
Doesn't remove KT's apps (but keeps the tweak so you don't have to re-flash full rom)
v1.1b
Fixed uv table
Added missing 192 step in some freq tables
v1.1
Added more UC steps (192, don't know how to limit cpu on bootup, adding 2.1 wont let me boot)
Insecure image
Added Governors (pegasusq, interactive, smartassv2...etc)
Added Schedulers (sio, vr)
Added read-ahead (1024kb)
GPU OC (480Mhz)
Higher L2 per freq step
Don't have to flash rom coming from KT's (djintrigue808 zip tweak)
v1
Initial release OC/UC/UV
1.89Ghz Enabled
*** T H A N K S & C R E D I T S ***
ktoonsez (provided source from his git)
agat63 (lots of help with the unpacking - repacking script and initramfs)
djintrigue808 (provided an amazing rom! and the base for flashable zips)

Creepy Bugs!
Open to discussion!Source:
https://github.com/sairegsx/sgh-t999-jb
Note: Am just a regular Joe, not a programmer or developer, i read KT's source and added by try and error(by myselft) what is working on this kernel because at that time there was no other stock based kernel with OC and i guess no one was working on one and that's what i wanted, it worked so i decided to share it on the place from i have taken so much. I hope you enjoy!!

1. Clear cache

3. Fix Permissions
If you get this message after booting up the kernel:

Welcome ken.... Just want to say guys I have been playing on this before it was released as a test... so you should not have any issues.... Just beware that this kernel is full of power and capable of high Ghz... so just be carefull when OCing... Most of you should be fine with 2.1ghz But 2.2 & 2.3ghz needs some tweaking to get it right.. But I must say its awesome.
But apparently 2.3ghz in normal use is Snappy as HELL.... but sometimes when it comes to benchmarks it may produce to much heat and the fail safe reboots the phone... in saying that there have been 50% of users that have tried 2.3ghz that managed to tweak the hell out of it and manage to complete benchmarks ... So it needs some smart tweaking..
I really wanted this in the international scene which is why I initially spoke to Ktoons and asked him if he would and thanks to him he did it for us and after i gave it a few tests .. WallaH!.. Good thing is that its very powerful and for us users that like to play around it will keep us busy by trying to tweak it to perfection Please let me know when someone has a good setting... Sharing is caring
Good work Ktoonz

thanks for the heads up bro
it's nice to see ken finally working with i9505 hurray :highfive:
I can run 2.3Ghz, however I can't run it for benchmarks due to thermal throttle or restarting my phone..
Imagine someone's phone able to handle 2.5Ghz.. (The people that have a high binning #)
Nice, just flashed this, feels very smooth! Nice work man!

Wont hurt it has fail safe so it reboots if its too much, 99.9% it should work good in normal use only not in benchmarks
@ktoonsez seems to work like a charm under CM, so far, no problems, no freeze, all works good!

Good. It's all OK but the camera. It's a bit too dark. Can I ask you to apply stock camera patch? It can be found in jollaman999 and loller79 github.

Awesome! Now that you're cherry picking, will you cherry pick stock wifi driver from jollaman sources too?
It's newer and brings less battery use and better speed.
Will next version be with android 5.1?
I can't see the screenshots and the page is to slow. Don't charge

Overally , the ROM is nice, smooth and stable. I'll stay on this and wait for your creative modifications like what you had on kitkat thanks.

It opens for me. Seems they've banned European IPs in order to stop the DDOS attacks. I mirrored the latest 6.1.5 for you. I'll remove the link once the website gets OK.
Link removed as the site got ok.
