Xiaomi Redmi 3 uses a 5-inch IPS screen
Appearance seems not to be accepted
Xiaomi Redmi 3 change more significantly in appearance than the previous generation models , from 4.7-inch screen sizes up to 5 inches. Xiaomi Redmi 3 has 139.3*69.6*8.5mm dimension and weigh 143.5g, compared to red mi2 with 134*67.2*9.4mm size and weight of 133g, Redmi 3 screen size not only affects the grip, but also successfully "lose weight", thickness of the fuselage has been noticeably reduced.
Front ID doesn't change much in its style
It's a little regretful that three keys haven't backlight.
Redmi 3 uses a 5-inch IPS screen, using the OGS technology, resolution 1280* 720P, to tell the truth , this screen appears quite satisfactory as a whole, but it supports the Sun screens, luminous screen, eye pattern, etc of course, have brought the much improvement of users' experience. according to the xiaomi popularized version;
5 inch screen size means better gripping.
On the back of the mobile phone, Redmi 3 should be the most controversial, which called "exposure" techniques,Xiaomi said this kind of tech has been applied into apple logo of the back and 'iphone' in iPhone 5, which is characterized by the pattern without stamping, etching of the fault. So do you like this pattern?
A big change in camera position
Speakers are still in the bottom
Redmi 3 is used metal material in the middle of back cover, hand feeling is good to the touch, in order to ensure the signal, on the top and bottom uses plastic material, but seam technology is good, and it does not give the feeling of assassination.
Camera always is designed on the middle back on the previous Redmi series, but this Redmi 3 has been put on the top left of the back with narrow size, and the speaker has not change at the bottom.
Top of the fuselage with an infra-red transmitter
The interface in the bottom is in the middle of the fuselage
There is the other an infra-red transmitter on the top of Redmi 3 in addition to the headphone jack and outside noise-reducing microphone, and the system has also been installed the remote control, this point will not increase costs, but it does allow users to get a lot of benefits. At the bottom is a microUSB interface and microphone , volume key and power key at the right side of the fuselage, because of the sleek fuselages, so is the card slot on the left side of the fuselage.
Card slot design using a compatible microSD card
Redmi 3 is a CNC machine, and only this version, mobile, Unicom, Telecom 2G/3G/4G network are compatible. And Redmi 3 card slot use a combination of micro SIM card +Nano SIM card, nanoSIM card slot also supports microSD expansion. As for battery capacity, it's the biggest highlight, this handset uses a piece of the battery capacity reaching 4100mAh, considering the hardware performance and screen size and other factors, so that capacity for most people for 2 days of regular use will be no problem, overusing-users can also use a day. Compared with Redmi 2, redmi 3 has only added to the weight of the 10G, body thickness reduced to the 8.5mm, the gripping has not been affected because of increased battery capacity.
MIUI 7.1 for new version
Last week, Xiaomi will almost update its products to MUI 7.1 version, and xiaomi redmi 3 also used MIUI 7.1, in fact, xiaomi will not take this way to name, because updating too fast will not let the user defect, they just update some important function integrated into a small version to update, in order to let the users know the main features. Of course, MIUI 7.1 OS is based on Android5.1, which provide more fluency.
Support PDAF 13 million pixels camera
In terms of photo, redmi 3 increase largely, starting with the most intuitive pixels, Redmi 3 uses 5 million + 13 million pixels camera, 5P group, f/2.0 apertures, supporting PDAF phases focus, both in terms of pixels, and aperture and focus, redmi 3 has been significantly improved.
Redmi 3 real photos
For example:
In actual Imaging aspects, redmi 3 also has performed greatly , first is in analytical ability, whick leads to 8 million upgraded to 13 million, and good performance in details also should appreciate aperture aspects , actually redmi 3 in performance of white balance aspects lets people surprised, especailly perform real colors in the light shooting.
Snapdragon 616 Octa core processor
In terms of hardware configurations, redmi 3 is powered by Snapdragon 616 Octa core processor, which uses a senior + small quad-core design, frequency up to 1.5GHz, Adreno 405 integrated graphics processor, using 2GB RAM+16GB ROM memory combinations.
Conclusion
In the appearance section, I believe redmi 3 is a very controversial model, but on the overall experience, hardware configuration, and redmi 3 is a very attractive model. And compared with Redmi 2, redmi 3 is not a follow-up model without any change, but enough improvement such as Netcom, 4100mAh battery, etc. Xiaomi Redmi 3 is a real killer with affordable price right now.

Design: 5.0 inch Capacitive touch screen, Diagonal LED-backlit display, FHD 1920x1080 pixels
Xiaomi MI 4S has 5inch FHD IPS screen which supports 1080p video playing. For me, I prefer 5inch screen size to 5.5inch screen size, because 5inch is the standard size, which is easier to put in my pocket, and hold in my hands. I have the better holding comfortability. And you can see the appearance. And we must have one question about what’s the difference between Xiaomi MI 4S and Xiaomi MI4 smartphone. I will share with you. Xiaomi MI 4S has been improved metal frame and double side glasses. This will be the main feature that i like the Xiaomi MI 4S very much. Xiaomi MI 4S has diagonal LED- Backlit display which has been improved better than Xiaomi MI4. 5inch 1080p screen has provided me with the more clear visual effect. So i can enjoy movies, games, search the internet for better experience by this Xiaomi MI 4S.
Hardware: Snapdragon 808 64-bit Hexa Core, GPU: Adreno 418
Xiaomi MI 4S is powered by Snapdragon 808 64bit Hexa core processor,
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 MSM8992 has a high performing CPU with a maximum clock speed of 2,000.00 MHz. It has 6 core(s), resulting in extremely efficient multi-tasking when compared to dual core processors.
As a result of following the Harvard architecture, the CPU has a separate Level 1 instruction and data cache leading to a slight improvement in performance over a unified Level 1 cache. The instruction cache is only used for storing instructions and executes in a sequential manner. The data cache stores data used by instructions; the point of access or storage is generally specified by an instruction.
This processor is based on the Reduced Instruction Set Computing (RISC) design strategy enabling instructions to execute faster, as opposed to the Complex Instruction Set Computing (CISC) design strategy, which is generally slower at executing due to lengthy instructions.
Power Management
By using the big.LITTLE heterogenous computing architecture, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 MSM8992 couples slower, low-power processor cores with relatively faster, high-power processor cores in order to reduce energy consumption. The "big" or faster cores are used for computation-intensive tasks such as gaming, whereas the "little" or slower cores are used for less intensive tasks.
Above all, Xiaomi MI 4S this time chooses Snapdragon 808 processor which is the advisable move for most mi fans in the power management and speed improvement.
MIUI 7.2 (Based on Android 5.1 OS), RAM 3GB + 64GB ROM
Xiaomi MI 4S runs the latest MIUI 7.2 OS, which has simpler UI design and more convenient UI usage. And it has RAM 3GB, which has kept pace with the main tendency of the most manufacturers in the smartphone industry.
I can download large games or run the apps fluently and smoothly.
What’s more, the ROM 64GB has made me store the large files like movies, musics, etc. I don’t have to add the extra TF card to expand the storage, Xiaomi MI 4S has done well in this kind feature.
Dual Card Dual standy, 1 Micro SIM + 1 Nano SIM or 1 Micro SIM + 1 Micro SD card+ 4G LTE+ VoLTE HD Voice+Video calls
Xiaomi MI 4S support dual SIM Card, and dual standby. i can insert a micro SIM card, or one Micro SIM and One Micro SD card, it has provided much convenience for most users to have two SIM cards. Meanwhile, it support 4G LTE network, 3G Network, i can also use one 4G LTE sim card, one 3g sim card freely. So wherever i go, i can enjoy the network any time if i open the GPRS service. And it supports VoLTE hd Video and video calls to provide us with better real environment to chat face time.
Touch ID+ Type - C QC2.0 quick charge
Xiaomi mi 4s has the nice functions to support touch ID and quick charge 2.0 to charge the smartphone faster than the normal charging. And touch ID lets me unlock the smartphone more conveniently.
3260mAh(Built-in) battery
Xiaomi MI 4S this time improves its battery to 3260mAh battery with high-energy density battery technology and it has optimized the structure design to keep the body up to 7.8mm thin and long standby. It has supported QC 2.0 charging to let me charge the smartphone faster and more efficient.
Dual Camear: 13MP Back camera+ 5MP Front camera
Xiaomi MI 4S supports 13MP back camera, it has 5 lens, f / 2.0 aperture, which has high quality pictures taking, and video recording. I will show you some examples later. It has used the high performance image processor through hardware-level and high-speed operations. It uses dimming light image enhancement or dynamic range optimization technology to increase the pictures quality. It called ultrafast phase focus. It also has 36 Smart beauty for girls and boys. Facial recognition has also been supported.
As for 5MP front camera, it can let me take auto selfies clearly and do video chatting conveniently. I really like this smartphone, which brings me the nice visual effect and experience.
Support Multilanguage
Xiaomi MI 4S supports Multi language up to 30 series such as Afrikaans, Azerbaidzhan, Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Melayu, Catalan, Czech, Danish,
German, Estonian, English, Spanish, Euskara, Filipino, French, Galego, Croatian, Isizulu, Icelandic, Italian, Swahili, Latvin, Lithuanian, Hungarian, Nederlands, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Romansh, Slovenian, Slovak, Swedish, Vietnamese, Turkish, Greek, Bulgarian, Kazakh, Russian, Mongolian, Serbian, Ukrainian, Armenian, Hebrew, Urdu, Arabic, Persian, Amharic, Hindi, Bengali, Thai, Burmese, Cambodian, Korean, Japanese, Traditional/Simplified Chinese. Therefore, you can set up the mother tongue without limits. This will be also the main advantage of Xiaomi MI 4S.
Package
Xiaomi MI 4S has nice and exquisite package you can see, it has the phone, battery built-in, and eject pin, a usb cable, and a power adapter. If you think it’s not enough for you, you can still buy the screen protector, the leather case to protect the xiaomi mi 4s. Therefore, what are you waiting for?

A bit weird design, I guess this is the cheaper brother of the mi5? How many dollars are 1499rmb? $200?
Mi4c was a real success, I guess this will be one, too!

Seems decent. looks like Mi4c in a nicer bosy with SD card and fingerprint scanner which is a winner.
Hope they make unlocking bootloader easier though as its a real off put for importing it from china now.

Go for redmi note 3 pro snapdragon 650 variant it is insane I don't know how the released it for such a low cost .. Also snapdragon 650 is lot more faster than 808 so note 3 must be a better choice although mi4s is double the price of note 3

Gearbest have it down as 28th April to begin shipping. Currently running a perfectly good Elephone P8000 with 4000mAh battery but really tempted by the K6000 Plus.
Anyone got any particular reason for buying this device compared to other Chinese flagships?

Yeah, on paper, no one knows of the real capacity yet. If battery capacity is your only concern then sure go ahead, but MediaTek MT6750 vs. Snapdragon 820 is a battle....no wait...it's obvious what to choose.

Yes, you are 100% right.
This isn't a device for everyone, you need to have some specific requirements to get it, otherwise there are much better Qualcomm Alternatives.

Depends on intended usage really; you're right, there's no doubting the Snapdragon is superior, but even entry level/mid-level CPU's are getting to the stage where they can handle pretty much anything thrown at it, aside from high end games. Day to day, the Antutu score matters not for me, but getting through a day or two is more important. I send emails and browse the web 95% of my time on the phone. Never game.
Current Elephone P8000 is 4000mah and i have no reason to doubt. The last 18 months it has performed brilliant getting 6 hrs of SOT. 15hrs since unplugged with 4hrs SOT and I'm still on 24%. Only changing because I'm intrigued...

I'm very interested to read a hands on review for this model also. I've tried 20+ Chinese Android phones over the years and my Oukitel K6000 Pro is the one I keep going back to for daily use. In my experience they seem to under promise and over deliver where as almost all other phones have done the opposite. e.g. you are hard pressed to find info on the camera chipset yet it is as good as any of the other phones I've used that heavily promote their Sony or Samsung sensors.
My K6000 Pro has insane battery life, accurate finger print sensor, a super bright and clear display and decent camera. The ROM is seemingly bug free and I've received numerous OTA updates. I only wish they would not skin their ROM's this custom icons as I prefer vanilla Android and download a theme if I choose. Also, cell signal strength is not as good as it could be.
The two most recent phones I tried to 'upgrade' to were the UMI Super and the Xiaomi Note 4 however after 1-2 weeks with either I returned to the K6000 Pro. It is not an elegant phone and lacks the premium feel of the new full CNC type models but it is still my preferred phone.
I will be watching the K6000 Plus with interest.
Does anyone happen to know if the home button/finger print sensor is a physical moving button or capacitive touch only? I try and avoid physical moving home buttons.

There's not a lot of videos/pictures out there at the moment but there was one taken by someone at a mobile trade show, maybe MWC, and it does have a moving home button which also doubles up as a fingerprint scanner much like the iPhones. Either side there are capacitive buttons that from the looks of things are backlit, which looks good. Bit of a change for me as my Elephone fingerprint scanner is on the back, and i currently have a capacitive home button, but I'm not too bothered as long as it doesn't feel weak. It does sound like they've tried hard on the design and build quality of the K6000 Plus though. No word on when mine will be dispatched yet sadly but as soon as it arrives I'll post on here too.

I have to agree, i'm testing the K6000 Plus and it seems that there are some minor issues with the way Auto-Focus is handled.

I think it's still soon for that, first Alldocube needs to share the tablet's Rom files and then I think it will be possible to root with Magisk, using the fastboot method.... I hope
Mine Alldocube X it's in customs right now, so I should get the tablet next week.
Even today, Alldocube made a comment on the Indiegogo site about the support and sharing of information with XDA:

Heys, I know... that's why I said that first we need the Rom from Alldocube to extract the boot.img and patch it...
But if you can do a beta TWRP for us, it will be great.. :highfive: :good:
Sooner or later, we will need a working TWRP to resolve some bugs... the lack of Mediatek MiraVision app in the tablet it's a great example of the importance that TWRP has in order to install a patched MiraVison.zip (in the first user reviews everybody it's complaning that the lack of a good Rom by Alldocube isn't letting us to use the full potential of this Amoled screen...), or even to do backups to save us of big problems in the future...
Let's see the Alldocube moves in the next weeks, perhaps they will launch Android Pie for X... with Miravision and so on...

Could you give us step-by-step information how to do this?

You should try Full HD (1080p), HD it's 720p and you don't need the Widevine L1 certification to play normal 720p HD streams...
I meant full hd. But it is hard to say. What I definitely can say it is more than 480p...

Do you mean, this one? https://forum.xda-developers.com/pr...vice-development/aosp-9-0-phh-treble-t3831915
Can we use the TWRP that you gave us, to flash this?
Can we try to flash other GSI Treble roms? Like other Treble AOSP Roms, LineageOS 15.1 or Resurrection Remix GSI's? Or still dangerous for that?
Thanks in advance, this could improve a lot the bugs found in the tablet, because many more ROMs could be compatible with this Tablet in the future!l!
Still nobody comment if it's possible to install the Miravision.zip using TWRP, and if it works...
Hope that with the TWRP that wangyiling provided us, we can make good backups to make sure that it would be safe to test new roms...:fingers-crossed:
Mine Alldocube X it's still leaving customs, hope to receive the tablet in the next few days ...

Buying Samsung Galaxy S9+ instead of Xiaomi Mi 9?

Hello!
In few days I would like to buy a new phone. Right now, in my country, there are massive price drops of SGS9+/ Note 9 prices. So SGS9+ costs 536€ and Note 9 699€.
As You might know, Mi 9 costs about 466€ (6/128 variant). The thing is, that Mi 9 is almost unpossible to get from official distribution. There are only few pieces avalaible for sale every week.
In my opinion Mi 9 only advantages are newest Snapdragon 855, and better look (personal opinion), and under display fingerprint scanner. Camera without OIS is a little bit worrying.
My biggest concerns about SGS9+/Note 9, is Exynos which in benchmarks is slightly slower than Snap 845. But on the other hand I think that camera would be better, and despite being released over year ago (SGS9+), it still can show off with the new technologies.
If Samsung, then question is SGS9+ or Note 9? Note 9 has larger battery, stylus (sounds like a good idea, but in practice can't say how often I would use it) and a little bit telephoto camera. Would You say that it is worth to pay more?
I would like to hear your opinions regarding Samsung devices, and maybe even some of You has comparision to Mi 9
I will be grateful for any recommendations.
Thanks!

Go for the phone with the newer snapdragon
[emoji3436]I Willl Scarfice For Those That I Love [emoji3434]
It depends on your usage, if you want a phone with stereo speakers, headphone jack and SD card slot, with higher screen resolution and higher front facing video resolution, and if you care about a more secure iris/face unlock and more reliable physical fingerprint scanner, go for the S9+/Note 9 (depends if you need an S pen). Otherwise go for the Xiaomi Mi 9. Personally, I prefer Samsung's software though. But since you can pay 699€, I recommend you to pay a few more and get the S10e, or wait for the S10 price to drop, it will be much better than the Mi 9...

I'd prefer Samsung, they have a better track record, especially on the security and spyware department.
Since you don't have access to the Galaxy so plus with the snapdragon variant that equals to worst camera and battery (I mean on snapdragon you are gonna be able to use the GCam mods with great alogirthm for Better photos, you can use the wide lens camera, better portait pictures etc! And the battery in my experience of the s9 (not the s9+ is just fine I am able t get 2:30hrs of sot time per charge in full HD )

Is Mediatek chip is better than Snapdragon as redmi said?

We already saw all the performance of Mediatek chip, the performance is not better than snapdragon. But redmi claims that the mediatek chip is better than snapdragon 712. What do you guys think about this?

Of course, G90T is more powerfull than SD712...
CPU : Cortex A76 are better than Cortex A75 (Kryo 360 is a very slight customisation)
GPU : Mali G76mc4 is better than Adreno 616
RAM : 2133Mhz is better than 1866 (both lpddr4x dual Channel)
ISP : 3x MNFR up to 64MP are better than 2x MNFR up to 48MP.
Thinking the opposite is nothing but forejudgement...or troll.
Of course, you can find some apps that will run better on 712 (for exemple, emulators), but it's not a problem of power but of app's unoptimized code.
Not everything is all about specs, but about optimization and quality of sources, of which Mediatek is not famous at all. Broken sources, ROMs filled with bugs and etc. It would be great, if Mediatek would have forums like CAF, that would considerably boost development, but...
I once used Mediatek device and got fed up with it being completely locked and sources being broken completely. My opinion, though.

But it's not like that this time, I easily get 9 hours SOT with gaming.
Battery life for me is VERY good. About to go to bed with 50% battery left with light use during the day and heavy use all evening.

My Redmi Note 8 Pro lasts for about a day and 10 hours mostly. At the end of the day there is almost 48% battery left. I'm much satisfied with its battery timings

I am very satisfied with Mediatek performance on this phone. I noticed big difference between Redmi note 7 that I have with Redmi note 8 pro that I have now.
Think things are different this time, the redmi N8 pro is a game changer this phone is awesome the battery life lasts all day power using and the phones a beast. i speed tested it against my sammy note 9 eight gig version and my Mi mix 3 eight gig version and it was neck and neck. But here we are a note 9 eight gig is a 1200$ phone and the mi mix 3 is a 450$ phone and a 240$ is running with them and the camera is outstanding better than the sammy n9 and the mm3 so dollars for dollars there's a big difference there.
same price as mi 9 lite...
i would go for the mi 9 lite
