Try to ID the model and UK 4G support - ZenFone 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Have attached the image of the sticker on a zenfone 2 I have the ability to buy.
I know the phone is in English and has the play store running etc
But I'm having an issue figuring out its 4G bands supported
as we Brits know in the UK you want
800 (20)
1800 (3)
2600 (7)
help

Your Zeny is CN version. Don't support band 20(800Mhz)

I suspected that, the fella who has is getting 4G but he is on EE, they use 1800 a lot, Three whom I'm with use 800 mainly.

what about this one?

WW should be fine, I have a CN and A WW and got 4g on both models with a 3 sim. The CN model is used mostly with an EE sim but I have tried the 3 sim in it and it worked on 4g where 3 had it.

EE and 3 mast share
EE use 1800 a lot, 99% of zenfones have 1800
3 though when its not at EE shared mast use 800

Indian Zenfone 2 in USA

Hi, would the Indian bought Zenfone 2 (ZE551ML) be compatible in USA for network? Boston in particular?
I don't believe you'd get all the 4G bands. You need to find out what bands your telco uses and then look at the specs to see if it is compatible. Should be fine with 3g though...

Nexus 5X H791 without B28 band, locked for some carriers

Well, after reading and reading and reading i found this problem in my Nexus 5X H791
Here in Chile, we use 2 bands for LTE
- B7 2600 Mhz (outdoor)
- B28 700 Mhz (indoor)
The B28 have excellent signal here in my city, and i bought my 5X because is compatible with all the bands (included B28, in theory)
But always I'm only in 3G.... my sim card is the problem. I changed it and nothing!!!
Next, I put my sim card in an iPhone 6 of a friend of mine..... 4G LTE without problems!!!!
Then, someday, in the google's forum I found this that mentioned the problem https:// productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/nexus/-6UeSgrWJfg
The Nexus 5X is only compatible with a few carriers in the B28 band. Inside the baseband archive (radio.img) are another archive and mention what carriers are fully compatible with this band, without my carrier obviously (730-01 entel Chile)
The Nexus 5X H791 is locking the B28 LTE band by software!!!!
Any solution??? I think the only possible solution is that Google in a next update erase that problem in the baseband.
No one?? What have to do??
This is important for me!!!

God damn app flash and desktop picture sharing fourm,I think there will be NO ONE help you on this question,as such an problem overscaled his mind at skyhigh level,
so entel Chile right?Band 28A or Band 28B?,seems like it's hard to find some information about your country's carrier, this frustrated phone only support Band 28A(Lower Duplexer) as japanese find
Band 28 Lower Duplexer 758.0~788.0MHz 703.0~733.0MHz
Upper Duplexer 773.0~803.0MHz 718.0~748.0MHz
NTTドコモ 783.0~793.0MHz 728.0~738.0MHz
au by KDDI 773.0~783.0MHz 718.0~728.0MHz
SoftBank / Y!mobile 793.0~803.0MHz 738.0~748.0MHz
If your carrier not implement in such frequency range, ther will be no chance of using such band
Ooops,there is a simple method test,install https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.qtrun.QuickTest
remove SIM,OPEN APP and lock RAT to LTE,lock band to B28(unselect others),then wait for the signal, screenshots will be very helpful

Mi 5s plus unlock band 4

Idiot over here ordered mi 5s plus didn't realise it didn't support b4.
My carrier bell Canada supports 1700/2100 and 2600
Phone supports 2600 but not 1700/2100.
I see some people have unlocked bands on mi5 not s. Anyone been. Successful with a s plus?
Is hasn't arrived yet but I'm hopeful its possible?
Band 4 for lte? Your downlod speed is not ok with 3g/hspa?
Not really , I mean I could live with it but I have it available (LTE) so I want to use it.

France use GSM, Verizon uses CDMA. If the Verizon phone has only CDMA it won't work.
Thanks for the quick reply, if i try to buy it and flash it with a stock pixel 2xl img not the verizon, will it work as an unlocked phone ?
The Verizon phone is a Globally unlocked Sim phone. It will work on GSM networks, only the bootloader is locked. Meaning you cannot flash it with other ROMS or the non Verizon factory image.
That mean that if I unlock the bootloader it will be easy to flash with the stock rom sound good thanks a lot

To my knowledge Verizon Pixel 2 XL has a bootloader that can't be unlock... so I would say that is not a good choice!
It will work, but I'm not sure if it will support all of the bands used in France if you're buying in the US. You will need to check the bands your carrier users with the supported bands of the phone.

I don't think it will unfortunately because the radio ROM is not the same as terre08 wrote (CDMA and not GSM as in France) and you won't be able to change it because the bootloader of the Verizon Pixel 2 XL is lock...
I live in France and use the Pixel 2 XL Google version with Free Mobile without issue. I imported it from the UK Google Store through Forward2me service.
Where do you live at the moment, in USA? Why the Verizon version and not the US Google Store version?
Hum in fact i've just see that i can't take with the verizon my mistake :/ i was trying to fin an opportunity to get the pixel 2 XL and pay it like in 4 times (can't be done on google store ) but with verizon it's a plan with a mobile contract so it will not work.
i'm in france also cause i'm french

Double check the LTE band frequencies that orange uses to make sure you get the best experience USA distributed phones will not have every frequency. In theory yes it's unlocked but might not be all bands of LTE that orange offers

I'm thinking of doing the same, but it's very expensive in the UK.
180€ more than the US version. But of course then there is the issue of the warranty.

The difference is lower, more around 70-80€
There is VAT on the US Google Store that is not in the $849. The PIXEL 2 XL really costs $929. And the deliver fees from US are more expensive that in UK not to mention the customs taxes that you could pay...

Every phone Verizon had sold for at least the last 2-3 years has been a GSM capable works phone. Given the information posted for carrier and phone bands, there shouldn't be any issues.

Good to know, I wasn't aware of that!
I guess it's the same hardware both GSM/CDMA compatible but with a different Radio ROM...

There isn't even much difference in the radio firmware, just minor changes to make it work better for Verizon's specific bands. There is very little different between the US Google store model and the one sold by Verizon.

Yeah I forgot the VAT, but I won't be paying any customs or shipping. A friend of mine would bring it before X-mas. It's more than 100€ anyhow.
The biggest problem would be the warranty though.

Just released Mi mix 2s LTE bands??

Hello, I heard a rumour to use the new mi mix 2s in the USA you need to buy the 8gb ram/256 model?
Anyone know if that is true. I would prefer to use the lower versions of the mi mix 2s on T-Mobile in the USA but worried it won't work.

I doubt that's true. The bands are the same and the Mix2 works on both gsm and cdma (Verizon) lte. Since the new T-Mobile bands (band 60?) aren't widely deployed, I don't think you'll have a problem.

You should be fine...like the post above stated, the main T-Mobile frequencies are present. However, you will be missing band 66 and 71, the latter of which is becoming more and more important (the state of Wyoming, for instance, is almost exclusively band 71 on T-Mobile). Unfortunately it may take a while for Xiaomi or similar phones to support band 71 as it's been really slow in getting manufacturers to adopt this band, excepting Samsung, LG, and Moto. But in any case, all variants of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S do have the vast majority of T-Mobile's network covered vis-a-vis LTE banding.
It looks like all global versions of the Mi Mix 2S are compatible with T-Mobile LTE. But only the 256GB version of the Mi Mix 2S is compatible with Verizon. So if you're only worried about T-Mobile you should be fine.
I'm also in the same doubt..
Here in France we get the new b28 lte band, which is perfectly supported in the mi mix 2 whatever version, but in the 2s, it seems to be only supported on the 256 go/international version which is very very expensive!
But on some merchant (gearbest, aliexpress, etc...) the description of 64go global version say b28 lte band compatible...
Both 256go and 64go get the same cpu, snapdragon 845, and then the same lte modem...
So is there a chance to get a 64go global version compatible with this lte band, or could it possible to unlock the missing band with some tweaks???
