HTC Desire 820 irremovable apk.(MUSICFX) - Desire 820 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I had a long search for getting a good EQ on my HTC 820, as the integrated "Boomsound" gave me a cracking noise. Even with good headphones.
I tried to get Snapdragon audio+(MUSICFX) working on the phone but after a long time of reboots and uninstalls I concluded the effort wasn't worth it.
Beats audio was the better solution as I was used to it from previous phones(HTC one x+), and it gave my sennheiser urbanites the boost in sound they needed.
Prior to installing Beats I deleted every file in downloads, System folder, through playstore and app manager that had any connection to musicfx.
Even though I did all this, every time I reboot the device and play music for the first time it gives me a notification that "Musicfx has stopped working".
Although this isn't a big problem, it is a new project I can work on. So I like to have it solved.
Is there any other place where drivers, folders, .... could have been left that make this notification happen?
Thanks in advance for replying.

[Q] Cancel auto market (Google play) installations

Hey guys!
I'm getting ready to purchase the GN very soon now have a quick question for you..
I really like to start fresh, and was wondering if it's possible to cancel the installation of all of my apps which I previously installed.
It's funny there isn't a "remove app" option in Google play.. I think it would be very useful.. after all no one want's apps from 2 years ago installed again.. that's when I had my HD2....

well, when i first powered my gnex, only the aps that were actually installed on my old crappy LG Dual were downloaded and installed, not the tons of app i've tried (specially in my firs android times)
hope this will help dude
Oh... I get it.. it won't install apps which I've previously deleted, that's better.. I seem to remember this also when first registering my (stolen) sensation..
well, I guess I'll just have to delete them all after they'll re-install I like a fresh start (although the auto installation feature is something I value Google for having).
And tnx for the reply mate

What DPI (LCD Density) are you using? If you changed it from the default of 240 that often causes problems with the Market. If you are not running at 240 then you should try this
clear the market data and cache
set the density back to 240 (i.e. edit system/build_prop to have ro.sf.lcd_density=240)
reboot
use the Market to update everything (hopefully it works)
set your density back to what you want
reboot
Another issue could be the country you live in. For example, Google prevents Taiwan users from accessing paid apps. You can solve this by using Market Enabler, but you still need to do be at 240 DPI.
Hey thanks for the reply!
I've looked at my DPI in my build prop, it's already at 240 so I haven't touched that
And I've used market unlocked set it to US,
Its crazy I did everything!!, I forgot to mention that I tried the above techniques already
sorry no avail there
Any other ideas?
It seems just impossible for me??
If you are trying to get an app that Google doesn't want you to have in your country then faking your country won't help if you have to log into your Google account to get it.
The only other thing i can think of is to use another store like SlideMe or AppBrain. I have to use SlideMe to get 4Ext for example.

Hey, I tried appbrain, it shows the app I'm after!!!
When I press install takes me to Google play, and I get incompatible error, and I cant install
Seems weird my tones fully rooted, s-off and all, and I can't mod this, there has got to be a way.
Thanks for your help!!

Yes, if a different market redirects you to Google then it won't help. Try SlideMe.org, it seems to be completely separate from Google, but I've only used it for 4Ext so far.
Hey thanks for ur reply, i downloaded the app i want useing chrome and APK Downloader
And guess what the so called "incompatible" app works!!, I just want the convenience of every app on Google play!
Thank you!

[Q] What is this ?!!!

when i go to my google app store APP-----> my apps----> all :
there is this app named TestMash , and it say "installed" ... !!!
never heard of it never installed this app before !!? but when i go to apps in my phone menue it s not in there, same with titanium backup there is nothing in there !!! i m confused ...is it a virus or what is it ?
This is what testmash is. It's not in my list at the playstore. Uninstall it. You must have picked it up somewhere. Maybe it came with your ROM

Have it in my list as well, also showing as installed. No option to uninstall and says incompatible with my device. Very odd.
I have it on my One X as well. Can't uninstall, even with a third-party uninstaller ("Easy Uninstall"). IF anyone knows how to force uninstall I'd love to know (not rooted currently).
I did have the same app on my One X as well, did a reset reinstalled apps one at a time and it was back after I updated Google Maps(second app updated). As far as uninstalling app without reset it can be achieved with a rooted device. Not sure the ins and outs but know it can be done. Hope this helps some of you.
Me too
New HTC One X - got it this afternoon from AT&T store
OTA update installed.
I'm seeing TestMashed also.
So this is something apparently installed with Google Maps?
Is it possible many people have this as well?
But because it is listed in such an obscure location most users are not noticing...
-------------------------------------------------------
I do have some details but not much
Posted here: http://forums.androidcentral.com/htc-one-x/178866-whats-weird-app-one-x.html
Apple Patents dispute, Caller ID tie in, now here I read it has to do with Google Maps? (confused)
testmashed again
Thought I was done with TestMashed until I took a look in Play Store. This time I did nothing and it was back going to try to uninstall or delete now that I rooted One X,will repost with results after I'm done. Also did not update Google Maps like in previous post so completely confused now.

Two questions

Hi Guys
1. Is there a way to remove unwanted apps from my apps in Google play?
2. Is there a mod to stop music being interrupted by notifications or the least by co-pilot gps?
1. There is two type of apps installed. First type is normal app, which you installed from Google Play or Manually. Second type is system app which come along with the phone, you can saw those on first boot. YOu can't uninstalled those, but you can disabled them through Settings >> Apps.
2. As what i knew, the answer is no. In common sense, a phone notification(sms..) is crucial than music playback.
Thx Man
Point 1 I know I just want to get rid off apps in my apps in Google play. You know apps that you installed to test and did not like or apps you do not use/can not use anymore like my old Motorola apps from very old android that are now part of os.
Point 2 odd excuse it is for me to decide not them. Other OS's out there (old or new) do not have that issue.

On a cm rom I used back on my xperia x8 music was lowered to play the notification and not cut out completely, so it can be done.

1. If your app comes from Google play, you can uninstall from setting->app and choose app that you want to uninstall
2. If your app comes within your ROM, you can install root explorer and then open choose system-> app from that folder choose apk that you want to uninstall after that reboot your phone to take the effect..
Note : for option 2 your phone must be rooted..

Sure it can be done, but for now no developers is providing this mod. As what i know this will need to tweak allow muxing channels. I remembered the ICS add some support for audio channels.
Regarding your first question (seeing as everyone seems to have misunderstood and is telling you how to remove apps from your device); no, I don't think there's any way to do that. The Play store always shows all apps you've ever installed and there doesn't seem to be any way to modify that behaviour (either on the device or on the web). I'm not sure of the logic behind not being able to edit that history.
Make a new google-account? No history anymore
And no purchased apps and no mail and no good solution.
2 silent mode should prevent notification from interrupting music
The new play update let's you remove from my apps section, it's floating around the forum somewhere I installed it earlier

Google Play Services - How to delete/remove

OK, so first things first. I am rooted and have attempted repeatedly to remove the Google Play Services apk with no luck. I have used TB to uninstall. freeze, delete. It will delete the file and or remove it but when I reboot its back and it wont go away. I have looked into the my
/data/app
folder and deleted the file from there and then removing it with TB, still whether I reboot or I wait anywhere from minutes to a coupel hours its back and as it doesnt show up under the PLAY store I cant think of any other way to remove the dang thing and its eating about 40mb of internal storage. I move it to SD and it will work for a bit, but then its back to internal storage..... I dont even use Google+ that much on my phone. I use it on my PC.
Any ideas/suggestions?

It takes only 7.92MB of internal storage for me.
You need to remove the GPlay store to remove it permanently.
Maybe if I rename the play store apk and add a .bak then reboot then remove the dang thing entirely it will be gone.
I looked and I dont know whats different with mine but its eating around 39mb on my phone.
Why would you want to remove it? This app, as far as I can remember I read, gives us "Smart Update" which lets you install and update only the updated portions of apps instead of redownloading the entire app. So... I just moved the app to my system partition using TB, then Integrate it with the ROM everytime it gets updated. Internal memory problem solved.
According to Google Play reviews, you need it for YouTube and possibly other Google services.

Sorry, but this is wrong. Smart Update is a Google Play Store feature and has nothing to do with Google Play Services.

Yeah true, since newest version.
Google Play Services is something like a replacement for older Google APIs on Android. It allows developers to use a newer version of those APIs (this "newer" version is not better in any way, but new ). Google's idea is to get more independant from hardware manufacturers and their updates. They want this APIs to be no longer part of the system to update them on their own. They started porting their Apps to the new APIs, YouTube is one of the affected apps (what means they did not add any feature but let the app work only on Android systems with Play Services installed).
Im at war with Google now. Will go Windows
Up until today I was quite happy with my ZTE T60. Then suddenly upon waking up this morning it was sluggish, the Internet was unresponsive and became a great disappointment. Then the low memory warnings started, my "market" Icon was switched to "Play Store". So into settings and application management I go. Now I notice two new applications I did not install or was I asked for permissions. One being the play store which is only a MB or so bigger than the old "market" app but now I also have this "Google play services" thats 19MB! My device only has 128M ROM. I don't have room for it and I cant get rid of it. Being that Google took over my device I have decided to boycott all Android devices. I would also like to note the same exact thing was done by Google with my Samsung GT-S5570 Galaxy mini. Whats the point of pushing store software onto devices like this that takes up all of the Rom so one couldn't download anything from the store if they wanted to? Doesn't Google realize this enormous update is not suitable for every android device on-line and why have they mandated it? Sorry Google, I used to love ya but this is the big goodbye.
I am not sure about windows phone OS but I can agree with you. Now Apple and Android are doing the same bad things than Windows for desktop did in the past.
Unfortunately on mobilephones its is even worse because by default you are not root/admintrator.

You need it for like all services by google. The google play store will just keep downloading it and putting it on your phone until the end of time. Youd probably have to re engineer the google play and other google apps to not download this app.
