I read elsewhere that mi band unlock function doesn't work with phones that are not xiaomi. Is that true?

Sorry, can't comment on that, I don't use pin/pattern locking. Not gonna start now either

I use the Mi Band with OnePlus X. Everything works as expected including the smart unlock function. So just go for it. Both are the best products at there prices.

Work's good

I have the Mi Band and i used it with MIUI ROM on my old phone. And on my OPX with OOS, FLYME, CM 12.1 and H2OS. On OPX any ROM I could not make app notifs vibration to work. It counts steps, sleep, vibrates when you get a call and vibrates for alarm it you set it in the app. Smart lock worked i think only on CM. Maybe works in OOS too. But on the previous phone on MIUI the smart unlock was muuuch better. I had to get the band close to the phone to unlock it (under 10cm maybe less).
So in conclusion it works fine but when we get MIUI for OPX it will be slightly better.
Cheers!

Unlock feature with bluetooth device is the feature of the new Android itself. It's called Smart lock and it should have every android smartphone with Lollipop or higher .-)

You have to use a pin or code and after you can use smart lock ,for notification you have to launch the app and you don't have to kill it (sorry for my bed english ?)

Hi,
How did you set the mi band to unlock the phone? My band is connected, I can view info, get vibrations on call, etc. I have a pattern lock. When I go the smart lock section, I get a pattern lock which I unlock using the set pattern. After that I tap on Trusted devices, then Add trusted device but the mi band doesn't show up in the list. Am I doing it the correct way?

Well I had problem adding the Mi band to trusted devices to use the smart unlock feature.
This trick (video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXiOdXLrV_8 ), or rather a version of it which is described in one of the comments, did it for me.
1. Try pairing it with the bluetooth.
2. If it fails to detect the band, then put the phone in aeroplane mode.
3. Switch on bluetooth and try connecting the band.
4. If it gets connected, fine. Otherwise, come out of the aeroplane mode.
5. Turn bluetooth off. Turn it on again after a 20 seconds.
6. Try connecting now.
7. If it works, fine. Otherwise repeat from Step 2. OR Try other variations.
Hope it helps.

My wife uses her OPX with MI band . I recommend this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cz.zdenekhorak.mibandtools
vastly better than the bogstandard one.

SocBlue A810 Dual-Sim adapter

Hi All !
I just got my hands on SocBlue A810 Dual Sim bluetooth adapter. http://www.dhgate.com/product/updated-socblue-a810-dual-sim-converter-for/150134924.html The thing looks very cute and sounds like should work on any Android-IOS devices.
The problem is that i cannot get it pared to my HTC One. I can see it clearly in BT neighbourhood, but cannot pair it.
Anybody has the experience working with it ?
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Bluetooth connection
I have a same problem with my Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE, GT- i90305
Android 4.1.2
I9305XXBMA2
Is this okay for me.
You must cancel the PIN code of your SIM card.

Indeed i made it. The SIM card has no PIN. But still cannot connect my SocBlue. HTC One asks to enter the pairing PIN code on SocBlue, but it does not exist there !
If the only issue is the Bluetooth pin, try clicking enter without the pin, 1234, or 0000. If neither of those work, a pin is probably given to you in the manual or something.

This is not a problem to enter the correct PIN, SoCBlue does not have any screen/keyboard. When I try to pair it with my HTCOne it just does not do it. HTC tries to force SocBlue to enter the PIN which i cannot enter. It is impossible for HTC One to use a pre-defined PIN to connect to any BT device.

Care to provide some screenshots of the "HTC tries to force SocBlue to enter the PIN" part? Hold the power button and volume down button simultaneously to take a screenshot.
By the way, is the HTC One rooted? SocBlue will not work on non-rooted phones.

Answering your questions - yes, my HTC One is rooted (you can easily understand it from my signature).
When i try to connect the phone to it, i see the following (see the screenshots).
The strange thing is -
1. It asks for PIN
2. It says "The device has been connected, please, select others" - this is completely out of my understanding of English language.
I tried to connect it to different phones (my wife's SGS III mini, my friend's iPhone, etc) and never succeeded.
Any bright ideas ?

Have you tried following the user guide here? http://www.2-phones-in-1.com/files/quickstart_guide_en_v103_socblue_a810_a830 By the way, if you can get a screenshot of the "The device has been connected, please, select others" in Chinese it might help, SocBlue's manufacturer is from China and has the usual half-hearted English translations.

Socblue unable to pair due to previous paired & Binded device!
You have to unbind and unpair from the previous paired device. Also unbind from the previous paired device. Then a restart of the socblue device should do the pairing with the new device.
Cheers!!!
Old thread but going to reply anyway.
Having the same problem with my A820, but as the previous post say it might be cause it is bound to a previous device and this is a security feature.
I found this small guide on myce
socblue-factory-reset-334468
i can't post links so here is what it says
Well, turns out there IS an official app to unbind the socblue A860. It's only mentioned in the Chinese version of their website URLREMOVED and in some forum posts by their support staff.
It's the one I mentioned in the original post, it's still there. The link looks dead because there's no direct download to an Android app, it's and iOS download repository and the app seems to exist only for iphone/ipad.
So for reference, if you need to unbind a socblue A860 and have lost the original phone is was bind to. You have to:
* Have a jailbroken iphone/ipad that has Cydia installed on it
* Make sure the normal socblue app is not installed
* Add "apt.fise.com.cn/db" as a source to Cydia
* Install the socblue app from that source
* Use the app to Search, connect and unbind your socblue A860
Using this official app I've been able to get the device back to work with a new phone.

Sim not detected.

Phone arrived yesterday for my partner and after a lot of fun and laughs with the the update bootlloop ,it just gets better.
After fastbooting latest Elephone rom from Needrom, everything works well except I can't phone.Put in my Virgin T-Mobile sim ,not detected,so cut down a nearly year old Asda freebie mini sim from EE,still not seen. Both working well in My Doogee Dagger 550.Have heard some having problems with Virgin, but this phone should be ok .
Thinking of trying another rom ,tried Eragons did not put a sim card in, but thought partner would prefer more vanilla rom.
Any help please as partner going through a very trying time at mo,mum not well.
Any help please, never seen this before, just blank in both sim holders when sim card inserted .Presume even if wrong sim for phone it would show something.
Seems it may be hardware?
Wow problem solved ,reflashed rom again ,still not there read about disabling all added apps and on power on jab volume down button and sim know seen .
Relieved an understatement, and now to bo bos well after drinky poos.

Hi morrig. Please can you be more specific in your steps here? How do you disable all apps and in particular, at which point do you 'jab power down'? All I get is the Chinese recovery bit :/
I have successfully managed to revive my phone using the '909' ROM but like you and many others, my SIM isn't being detected in either slot.
It's a frigging shame really. The P8000 is a great phone in my opinion let down by shoddy developers and lousy customer service. I hope Elephone get it sorted soon.
Cheers

Have'nt a clue why it worked initialy, lost sims again.
Only work round was to flash Elephone rom 7/25 which has the right kernel to support sim, then flashed recovery and intalled Eragon rom.
Then found yesterday morning that after on charge all night battery nearly flat, partner(whose phone it is) was spitting blood.
Problem fixed by wiping cache, then charged well.
Cracking hardware and value, rubbish software, thankfully being solved by great developers.

EXCELLENT! Cheers morrig! 7/25 does indeed return the use and detection of sim. Thanks very much :good:
That;s weird.. I have a similar issue.
Been trying out a bunch of ROMs - well, Nexus and Eragon and Stock.
Nexus won't detect my SIMs at all and the other 2 detect them but can't make a call (can send a text oddly enough... not receive though).
Something to do with IMEI not being picked up.
I flashed 7/25 using SP Tools but no joy.
I did use:
http://bbs.elephone.hk/thread-3088-1-1.html#.VksvG_nhCHs
.. that to manually put the IMEI in but it's a bit odd.
Just gonna try Eragon 6.1/Philz and that weird IMEI 'fix' and see if it works.
It'd be nice if I could just stick the Nexus ROM on and everything worked...

Great danes, you buy a smartphone to use mainly as a phone and without it working its nearly useless.
Did you use Win 7 to flash ,very easy to install MTK drivers ,tried everything on Win 10,did the restart with digital signing, noticed that on Win 7 had two digital signing yes or no yet only one in Win 10.Think thats why couldn't get Win 10 to install drivers properly ,yet others have, maybe because I'm on build 10586?

I used the rom on Needrom,no problems and never bother using nvram backup on install of new rom on my DG550 or the Elephone.

Just to add don't try Eragon 6.1 its beta and some have sim problems ,use 5.9.2,that's the one that works.
Yeah, I've installed 5.9.2 now.
Basically, I put in the IMEI manually, used *#*#4636#*#* to enable the radio and the 4G works now. I can make and receive calls.
However, I can't RECEIVE texts (standard SMS). I can send them but not receive.
Why do you think that would be?

Im unable to decline calls in my mi band 4. But im able to silent calls
Device:- Redmi note 7
Android version:- android 10(Atom os)
Mi band is chinese version
I also tried with other devices as well
I have the same problem th lat I can't decline calls.;(
Try to remove telephone permission from Mi Fit in Android app settings. Then run Mi Fit and allow the permission when it asks for it (you might need to disable/enable call notification in Mi Fit to trigger it). Then try the function again.

P.S. btw the mi band 3 that was working perfectly with honor phone, also have this problem now when its paired to my wife's phone i.e. some Vivo model.

It has been said I can utilize the unlocking tool to enable an option on my phone to allow the tablet to talk to each other and utilize this...

I have looked at that.....not what I need
I need the option for both devices:

(Call continuity)
It has been said if I unlock my verizon note 10 plus
That will enable these options
You can't unlock the Verizon 10+ so that's off the table.

You should be able to enable allow calls and text on other devices. This is a Samsung feature through your samsung account I don't know why and haven't heard of the device needing to be unlocked. Verizon doesn't lock LTE devices either after 60 days they are auto unlocked.

Quick shortcut maker is my friend
Ok, short and sweet and to the point. Until or unless you root this thang. Quick shortcut maker is my friend since the lg g3. Network issues. Use it. No root use it. This is a wonderfull tool. So that being said there is the device info where you can choose network, hint to you is choose unknown. And on the other menus it unlocks choose global. Well it's kinda that easy. But you just gotta fool with it. You knew it was coming when you bought this phone. So buck up and just do it
---------- Post added at 11:14 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:08 PM ----------
If your like me you love this stuff. I try to get any phone I can that the networks can't chase. Call it old habits. And I'm gonna say I love this phone and I loved the rm3. I knew when I bought this phone what I started. I also bought it less then red magic sells it for and hot it on April 20 th. It's full on Chinese rom. Ver. 2.46. red magic support says mid May we will finally have a global rom. Liars I say. But get out that quick shortcut maker and shortcut master. And mess with it. Oh it's radio info. My bad. Set the network to unknown. It's the only way I could get data, mms, internet and phone calls every other setting either gave me phone no data, or data no phone. But unknown gave me both and click the 5g on.
