Info standby - Huawei Watch

Hi, at Christmas I received this wonderful SmartWatch.
When accesnione, I would not be wrong, I think I saw a screen asking how long the s were to go into standby after a certain period of inactivity. If I'm right I put 15 minutes.
The question is, does anyone know how to change or disable this stand? Since it is really uncomfortable then the clock off the screen. The clock is beautiful especially with the screen saver.
Obviously this feature is not to be confused with "always on screen" which is different [this is already active].
Thank you

Ouch,I can't follow your grammar sir. You might get some translation help, and cut and paste again........^^^^^^^^

the SmartWatch goes into standby after 15 minutes and turns off the screen. How can I disable this feature?

You may have gotten a watch face that had always on set off, and it never toggled.
Try to turn always on OFF, then after awhile turn it back ON and see if you get the ambient face to show again.

it does with any watchfaces

When I take the watch off to shower, usually 10 to 15 min,I come back out and it's all black. I tap the screen, and it comes back on in ambient mode. I think this is what your referring to. I believe this is a sort of sleep mode to save battery, due to the watch receiving no movement at all. It's a cool feature. If this is happening while still on your wrist, then there might be a problem.???

Oh!! I know what it is....let me check but there is a setting for when the watch is off your arm to go to sleep. If you don't want that we have to set it off.... I found it, it's called "screen lock" you want to turn screen lock off..

Not it. Screen lock is when you have to draw a pattern on the watch face to unlock it,like on most phones now a days.

I found this on that topic, it says 30 minutes though. Maybe there is a time adjustment in the wear app? If not as you mentioned when you first synced up you picked 15, may have to forget and re-sync to chose again?
Tip: Letting your screen turn off when you're not using the watch will help improve battery life. If the watch hasn't moved for 30 minutes, the screen will turn off even if you have it set to remain always on. To wake your watch, tilt it or press the power button.

perfect, I just wanted to change the time from 15 to 30 minutes. it's possible?

I'm thinking you would have to disconnect, and forget, then connect like a new watch to get that setting.

Yes, and we cannot find such setting. Meaning it's a one time pop up when you originally connect watch.
This is just a theory though, I do not remember mine asking this question, and I cannot find a setting for this on the watch. According to the watch notes it should be set at 30 minutes default, maybe before you try anything actually time it?

I did restore Huawei, removed from the SmartWatch Android Wear. I restarted everything but this function has not resumed as the first time.

okay, now take the watch off, and time how long it takes to screen off, default should set it to 30 minutes.

Side Lock Button

So I found out real quick last night while playing with my 6 month old baby that this watch needs some sort of lock. When she was squirming around in my arms the Google Voice commands opened a dozen times and she tried to share some of my notifications and reply with Voice for a couple of text messages. And this was all within the first 15 minutes.
I was wondering if there was anyone else experiencing this and their thoughts. I saw a couple of lock screen apps out there but I was thinking with the Moto 360 it would be really nice if that side button was a lock / unlock button for when you want the watch to remain in the ambient mode and not wake up from screen taps. I know that the button switches the watch to ambient mode but it does not seem to lock the screen from touches. Might be a nice idea for future implementation as I have not used the side button for anything yet as the screen wakes when I lift the watch to my face.
What are your thoughts?
this exact thing happened to me yesterday! I have an 8 month old and the watch just attracted him lol
I don't have a creature, but I too would like for the watch to only activate when I want it to. I want to have to press the button to turn the screen on.
Have you guys tried Showear or Lockable? Both are free but Lockable charges for the pin unlock feature.
I don't want just a screen lock, but a lock that completely keeps the screen turned off until I press the hard button on the side. (To not waste battery when I definitely don't want the screen to turn on by touch and/or accelerometer). Does an app exist for this?

Have you tried to shower with it on?
It thinks the water is you touching it, and it goes crazy!

That is exactly what I am looking for. Something that keeps it in the Ambient mode until I press the side button and locking the touch screen. It seems like an easy enough option because the button really has no other use as you can turn the screen on and off by tilting your hand. So it would probably serve better as a locking button.

I do not shower with a watch on so I have not tried it. I am sure it would go crazy. Another reason for a lock button.
Yea a lock app or something would be nice mine is so sensitive I could sneeze and it turns it on..hope something comes about soon

I have come across an app called Baby Time which locks the watch and only allows a specific swipe gesture of up twice and then down twice. Kinda gets the task done but it would be a lot simpler if it was activated by the button on the Moto 360. Another comment is that it replaces the watch face you have with one created in the app which for some reason does not seem to have an option out of the 24 hour clock. I will use for now but I am hopeful that something better will come along. Also have to start the app by saying "Start Baby TIme"
Lol!

New Features Requested

Hey guys.
I just contacted Motorola to request some new features be added to the stock ROM (which in my opinion) would be crucial to increasing the functionality and battery levels of the watch.
Don't know if any Motorola Dev's/Engineers are following this site but just in case, I'd love to have these features asap.
Please add more if there is anything I have missed.
1. Have the ability to turn Vibrate OFF while still receiving notifications on the watch
Why ? Because I have my phone in my pocket constantly, and my phone vibrates when a new notification comes up. I dont need my pocket and my wrist vibrating together.
Also, Increase battery life.
2. Need to have the ability to turn off notifications for certain apps. For Example, I want the watch to vibrate when an SMS or Email comes through, but turned off for Messenger, kik, and everything else.
Also, by having this feature, Im sure a developer could write up a small app to install onto the phone which would tell the watch which notifications to vibrate for, and which to just display on the screen.
And again, this will save battery life by turning the vibrate motor off for (in my case) 90% of the notifications coming through.
3. Have a slider to control the level of vibration or the burst of vibration.
Why ? This adds a level of customization to the watch.
Also, I see people complaining that the watch doesn't vibrate enough while in my case, its vibration time is too long. By having the ability to shortening the vibrate time, you also save battery life (if not by much).
By having all 3 features embedded into the ROM, On the average user, it should increase battery life by almost double (if not more).

Pretty neat ideas. I have one id like to add lol. I want to be able to turn off motion detection for the screen. I had this feature on my galaxy gear and it gave me an day and half EXTRA battery with it turned off. We could get similar battery life (3-4 days with average use, custom rom too) if this was disabled. I had to always press the button to turn the screen on to check the time, but notifications still lit the screen up when they came in. Totally worth an extra 24-36 hours of battery . However i like the idea of being able to tap the screen to wake the moto360.
So basically I want motion detection disabled but leave tap to wake on.
Can't you turn off notifications for certain apps in the Android Wear app (mute apps)?

I like this idea because sometimes it's hard getting the watch to light up with motion, so turning off that feature for when it does work would be fine.
In my case, I have the phone vibration turned off and rely on the watch to deliver notifications.
My one and only important feature request is the ability to create my own canned response list.
Of course, official support for 3rd party keyboards would be nice as well.
Bluetooth LE Peripheral Mode
I'm not sure if they intend to include Bluetooth LE Peripheral Mode in their Lollipop release. Google chose not to include peripheral mode for the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7, although it is included with the newer Nexus 6 and 9. But for Android Wear, Peripheral Mode would enable a huge number of new and useful apps, that would significantly improve the usefulness of the watch. The simplest one would be a beacon to help you find your watch when you forgot where you left it, but enabling service solicitation would open a whole new world of applications for the watch.
#1 has worked since day one.
I get a notification, my phone remains silent, the watch vibrates. It's in the AW app settings.
according to me, since the watch has a inbuilt mic, a feature can be added that when someone calls, answer from the watch, just speak that you'll call back later & disconnect. this will be helpful if you are driving... no need to pick the phone ...

Good list, I have one more. Allow the setting of alarms for only certain days. For example, I would like to be able to set an alarm at 7 PM that goes off only on weekdays and not weekends, as I use this to let me know when I can get into the car pool lane when I am driving back home from work. That alarm is useless on the weekend, so no need for it to be turned on every day.

I am still wondering which watch support Bluetooth peripheral?
As I know LG G watch 5.0.1 do not support it.
if (mBluetoothAdapter.isMultipleAdvertisementSupported()) {
will return false.
on mine the whole notification thing is messed up..
sometimes it will vibrate and pop up when i get a text or email.. but then sometimes it doesnt do anything at all.
hardly ever, does it vibrate when i get a fb IM.. but it pops up and the screen lights up.
maybe they should fix it first before adding anything.

Pretty sure vibration is app dependent. Example, 8sms. You can change the vibration length in the settings. If you set your phone to 1000ms vibration when you get a text your phone AND watch will vibrate for 1000ms(or whatever vibration pattern you set) To further my point I would NEVER feel the vibration of Snapchat updates because it was so short. I'm using xposed(gravity box) to change snapchats vibration length and I feel the notification on my watch and phone every time.
I agree 100% google should have a universal setting to be able to change vibration, notification, and screen light up settings.

Zenwatch seems to vibrate for no reason

Hello, Second day of ownership and I am already having an issue. The watch vibrates, I check it for a notification, nothing there. Awhile later, vibrates again, no notification. Sometimes there is a notification it got from the phone, but 90% of the time it seems to be vibrating for no reason.
I tried to wear it to bed last night but the incessant vibrations were annoying.
Even if it was vibrating when I got a notification,is there a way to tell it not to vibrate for certain hours?
Thanks

Check google fit settings. Mine use to do that but "fit" was buzzing me to get active and get moving. When I told it not to urge me to move the vibrations stopped. good luck?
I don't see Fit on the watch or on my phone? Is it hiding? I went into the watch settings and nothing there for fit? On the phone I have the Wellness app but the option to bug me to move is off so that shouldn't be it. It seems you are on the right track, but I don't know how to find the app?
Thanks

Did you try resetting the watch back to default?
Wellness, just like fit, has a "Remind me to move" feature that will send vibrations. Also, if you have it set to remind you when you forget your phone it will vibrate without any message when it loses connection.

[Q] Touch to wake options

Like the Title says, can someone please add a Touch-To-Wake option.
We already have the Ambient Screen and Tilt To Wake Screen options that were introduced in the Android Wear 5.0 update, but for the life of me, I cannot understand why a Touch To Wake option was never included.
Having read through countless posts and threads on the net, it seems to not only be mine but everybody else's bane of their Android Wear experience. It would have to be THE most requested option in the history of Android Wear.
I realize there is Theater Mode, but this just isn't good enough.
We want to be able to have notifications pushed to the watch, we want to have the Vibrate when a notification comes through, we want to be able to tilt/flick the wrist to have the watch turn on........what we don't want is the watch turning on every time it touches a part of your body. It is especially annoying if you are sitting on a table with your arms crossed, or even sitting in a car with your arm crossed over and the screen touches your leg.
Please Please Please add this option in the official Moto360 ROM and release it yesterday.

3) Release it.... Yesterday?
4) Don't beg people to do things then tell them when you need it done by - it's not your work, it's none of your business when it gets completed.
5) I have yet to see any other threads requesting tap to wake. (Perhaps because it's already there?)

Putting it in theater mode is that bad? Only pressing the button turns it on I use it when I know I am not gonna be able to look at it or I need to take it off so it just stays "asleep"just have your phone vibrate and then you can wake your watch as you please

Yes it is.
Theatre mode doesn't wake the screen up when you rotate the watch.
It doesn't vibrate when a notification comes through.
I would like to have all the features available when the watch is in its normal mode......but without the touch-to-wake option turned on.

Its called theater mode....
You could always just compile your own kernel and remove the function. It honestly wouldn't be that hard. It would just take some research. If you want me to point you in the right direction, I can, but forewarned, it will require some possibly heavy learning depending on your current level.

Yeah, hence why I put this post into the Original Android Development thread. An option like this should be made a standard on all Android Wear devices, especially the Moto360.
I wouldn't have the faintest idea about compiling a kernal and to be honest, have no intention of rooting/modifying my Moto360 (even though I do it for all my phones).
All I wanted was to request that this option be made available, hopefully for the next Android Update because there are a great number of people who are having the same issues I am. Honestly, it is the only option I wished I had since the first time I turned the watch on.

I understand that sometimes there are things we may not like BUT this seems like it should be such an easy damn fix.
I know when I'm sleeping this screen goes on and off all night. My arm hits my other arm or whatever... I toss and turn a lot.
I totally agree. I must have this option. No more tap to wake. I like tilt to wake but tap to wake activates on accident all the time. Can't find a solution.
How on earth does touch to wake constantly happen accidently but tilt to wake does not?

The tilt to wake works by the gyro sensor. It just means you might need to give your wrist a bit of a flick to turn the screen on.
What i don't understand is the touch to wake would have to be the most annoying thing for all wearable, and yet the developers refuse to put in the option to turn it off.
even in the upcoming update, there is no mention of including that option.

You mis understood my statement. I was asking how one could find the touch to wake annoying but NOT the tilt to wake. As it is.. I am actually using it just as you describe. I have tilt to wake off and then I can just touch the screen to turn it on. I don't like the tilt to wake on the moto 360, I much prefered pebbles wrist flick to wake up. As for touch to wake, I am not sure why this would be a problem, what is touching your watch that keeps turning it on?
Tilt to wake isn't that much of an issue for me. I actually like it the way it is.
As for the touch to wake; you name it, it's annoying.
- Crossing your arms while sitting at a table
- sitting in the car with your hand on your leg (or between your knees)
- walking past someone and having their hand brush across yours (and accidentally touching the watch)
- crossing your arms
It's not enough that it just turns on but what add to the frustration is that if you aren't cautious, the Google Speak function kicks in and starts doing all sorts of crazy stuff on your phone

How Do I Keep My HTC 10's Screen On While Reading (Smart Screen/Stay....Whatever lol)

So other phones like the Sony Xperia and LG V-Series phones have a feature where the phone can detect your eyes and/or face while you are reading something on the screen while NOT touching it. This feature is MOST helpful when reading whatever is on the screen and NOT wanting it to shut off either.
For whatever crazy reason, the HTC 10 does NOT have this feature! And when I try to install 3rd party apps in order to make this an option, I always have some issue come up that doesn't let it work. Does ANYONE have a way around this that DOESN'T involve bootloader unlocking and/or rooting????????! It is so frustrating to me that HTC did not think to put this on a 2016 FLAGSHIP natively.
Thanks!
Why not just adjust the screen timeout settings? Not exactly what you're looking for but it'll do the job.

Well b/c I wanna save battery life. I'm not ALWAYS reading the screen, and I don't want it to stay on longer than needed. I just can't believe HTC didn't think of this. I LOVE this phone except for 1) This very issue and 2) The fact that when you enable ANY kind of security measure on the phone involving the lockscreen, Double Tap To Sleep ONLY works if you're ON the lockscreen (a lesser issue to me, but still). Both LG and and Sony have this same option, and NEITHER has any issue with it. You just double tap the screen to turn the screen off, and no problem. The apps I got that DID let the double tap to sleep work also disable the security settings, which isn't cool Just can't believe HTC didn't think of this.
They could fix BOTH issues with updates, but who knows if they will.

hi com,
This app is a step in the RIGHT direction, but it keeps the screen, on where I need something that scans for my eyes and/or face so I can read the screen comfortably and not feel rushed to touch the screen to keep it on.
I'll write to the developer though since he seems cool.
Thanks!!
Set it to 30 minutes or an hour (Which isn't possible on Samsung phones (10 min max so they have to waste unnecessary battery life with useless smart stay which is crap at night), and turn your screen off manually like everyone else.
Custom roms allow holding home button to sleep or various other options.
If you switch to viper ROM, there's a quick setting called "caffeine" it will keep your screen on until manually shut off or set period of time

I could do that, but I'd rather not. lol
I ended up finding an app called Wakey which when you get the full version, it keeps the screen on for any specific apps you choose until you either manually shut the screen off yourself or else leave/close out of those apps. So basically it's been resolved.
