Is it possible to Root LG G Pad X 10.1 v930 LTE. I,m on an unlimited data plan and the hotspot is blocked by AT&T, how can I use it without flagging them?

Kingroot. Then if you prefer, a zip that changes Kinguser to SuperSU.

Where can I find the zip that changes Kinguser to supersu. I don't see any other way to root the device but I don't like being forced to leave the kingo root software on my tablet.

Will this allow me to turn on hotspot under AT&T unlimited plan and how do I do it?

Does anyone out there know of a recovery- (TWRP or CWM), that will work on the G Pad X(LGV930) ? PLEASE respond. Thank you (in advance) VERY MUCH.

Be careful trying this. I bricked my device trying to do this. Luckily they fixed it because it was under warranty.

Anyone try supersu-me after king root yet?

Nope, I went to use kingroot but it had auto updated to 6 via ota so no root for me.

I just bought mine yesterday and updated to 6.0 today. Are you saying that if it were android 5.1 it could be rooted?
Sent from my SM-N915T using Tapatalk

Rooted yes but locked bootloader means no custom recovery or rooms. Moot though as there is no root for 6 only 5 (kingoroot).
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using XDA-Developers mobile app

I don't mind not having other roms. Just want to take away bloat and maybe have xposed. Is it easy going back to 5? This is my first Lg, always had samsung.

Hello? Does anyone know how to downgrade?

I have 5.1 and it won't update. How do I root. And can someone pull the 6.0 rom

Does anyone have stock LG-V930 image they can share please. Thank you in advance.

Does anybody know how to downgrade?

You will lose root. I did when I upgraded my device from 4.1.2 to 4.2. I just flashed the attached zip and I got rooted. I lost it again when I later upgraded to 4.2.1 but same as before you can use the same zip to get rooted again.
I lost root after the update. Can I use the toolkit to regain boot?

Code name android question

Do I need to be rooted to use this custom rom? If not what do I need to do?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Yes you need to be rooted to install any rom or custom recovery.
OK thank you. I rooted my previous phone and when I did. I had nothing but problems it seemed like.. but that was probably 3 years ago or so..
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Since you had to ask if you needed root to flash a custom ROM they were almost certainly User caused. But to each their own.
Do you still need to use a computer and all that too root your phone? And I'm running 4.1.1 is that going to screw me at all?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Scratch that definitely User error.
There are stickies right at the top of this very section on how to root.

[Q] Do not get mobile network after flashing rom

So, I have flashed a few roms, the most recent, Lego Rom, and I am still unable to activate my network. I have mobile data but no phone. I have went back and tried to install from freshly rooted to a rom but without any change. I am following install instructions to a T. This is by far not my first time installing a custom rom. Anyone have any ideas what my problem is?

Rooting w/o a PC?

I have lost root access from flashing a ROM...I am not able to access a PC at the moment...is there a way to root my phone again without using a PC (hooking phone up via USB and flashing cf auto root via Odin etc.) ?
Have you searched XDA for a SU.zip you can flash via custom recovery?

I'll have to upload the files and share, I gathered an updated TWRP from the note 5 section and used the CF Auto root.
If you want to locate them since I can't get to them till later do a search for
TWRP-3.0.0.1-M-TEST4
Download cf auto root for sm-g928p link here
https://download.chainfire.eu/807/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-zenltespr-zenltespr-smg928p.zip
Flash cf auto root first in Odin, let it do its thing and followed by the updated test TWRP.
This worked for me, keep in mind your doing this at your own risk.
I did have to flash TWRP more then once with this method to stick.
