Good evening people.
I would like to present to you the famous TWRP touch recovery,compiled by @AntaresOne with F2FS support.
Compatibility
Device variants supported: I9505, I9505G, I9507, I9508, I337, M919, I545, R970, L720, S970G, S975L (All variants/models NOT listed are NOT supported).
How to install it
Place the recovery.img to your external SDcard.
Choose one of the following options
First option (Coming from a non-working recovery or....):
---------------------------------------------------------------------
- Go to file manager and see how does ROM calls your sdcard.for me its 83DA-17F7.
- Run adb from computer(or ROM's terminal) and execute: (In android MM use 'file transfer' option while on USB)
- adb shell
- su
- dd if=/storage/83DA-17F7/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p21
-Reboot recovery
Second option (If your current recovery works fine):
-----------------------------------------------------------------
- Reboot to recovery
- Run adb from computer(or recovery's terminal) and execute:
- adb shell
- dd if=/external_sd/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p21
- Select reboot options and reboot to recovery.
Third option (If your current recovery works fine):
-----------------------------------------------------------------
- Just flash the zip and reboot to recovery!!

had latest twrp 2.x and flashed cwm = auto factory reset or something else = lost sd card
edit: updatetd via twrp manager. it showed something went wrong but everything went fine. no you canalso backup and restore from your adopted sd card. thx guys!!!

CWM and TWRP are different. CWM is also outdated. But I uderstand your initial concern.

Oh okay. Maybe that's the problem! I was looking for the compatibility list for 30 seconds (!) or so and couldn't find it. And I'm probably not the only one on that. That may be part of the reason those threads get spammed with compatibility questions.
Maybe you can make that list easier to find and more popping. And I would write 'Supported Devices' instead of 'Compatibility'. Let's see if that helps
How can i install a theme?
Flashed this with 2.8.x.x TWRP, rebooted to recovery and got stuck on getting into recovery. Nothing happens, just samsung splash screen, any solutions?

Just tried third option in OP (flash .zip file) but it was unable to install. Currently running TWRP 2.8.7.2 by antares. Any sugestions? Should I flash img file instead?

Well, yes.

From previous version or other recovery
Download the PitchBlack zip to your device
Reboot to your current custom recovery
Flash the PitchBlack zip
The device will automatically reboot into PitchBlack Recovery after installation

Download PBRP PC Installer zip from bellow
Download PitchBlack Recovery flashable zip from bellow
Extract the PBRP PC installer zip & copy the flashable zip to the installer folder
Goto fastboot mode in your device
Windows users open pbinstaller.bat file
Linux users execute pbinstaller.sh in a terminal
Follow the introductions on the installer from there

Ok, if you downloaded the zip file, find recovery.img and unpack it. Than just use fastboot as you would flash recovery for the first time but before that to be sure that everything works use "fastboot erase recovery" and than "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"

I have a booting lineage os zip but I have to fix some missing packages in vendor partition which is taking a long time. When there will be the q source available I am definitely going to put work into porting it for this phone. My work is available on GitHub under the same nickname.

Nope, there are not such things as cross compatible recoveries.
Since I flashed the recovery I'm in bootloop and I can't do anything anymore.
recovery and bootloader work but I can't install stock firmware

To Flash the TWRP:
if it's the first time you flash the TWRP or you are getting problems of TWRP lost or device doesn't boot after flashed magisk or something else you need to flash a script to patch your vbmeta:

Thank you very much for your effort n sharing with us!! However, I hv unlocked my realme X(China Variant) and try to flash ur TWRP = it didn't work./won't Flash.
3.3.1-8 Error Message - Over Max. allowed Size.
3.3.1-9 ADB Flash started but stuck at command prompt, Phone response saying it is now in "Fastboot Mode or press n hold power button 10-15 sec for Reboot"
I successfully reboot and BL/TWRP has not changed. Really would like to see some "Brave Hero" make this work on the China Variant...

I wasn't going to remove FP and PIN to test. It asked for a PIN and next thing you know, everything was there lol
I was using latest maurono Frio 3.4.0.1 twrp. Just reboot recovery,flashed zip success,rebbot recovery, but it's on the fist phaze. Not coming to recovery.

I just backed to OOS using msm tool. Didn't show any error while flashing, rebbot recovery, it turn to first page and still there.
I have faced the same thing as well. Flashed in recovery and then reboot to recovery and got stuck. It doesn't reboot to recovery.
Kind of interesting that a handful of people are experiencing this issue and a handful of other people aren't.
I'll have to take a look here soon. Will keep all of you posted
maybe the previous recovery's version cause the difference?

Can confirm i have same issue now...
it stuck at Bootloader unlock warning..
Update:
After experimenting with different ROM's & Recoveries found one specific issue..
When i install this Recovery from Blue Spark TWRP 3.4.0-1 or Official/Unofficial TWRP 3.4.0-1, it Reboots fine in Sharp recovery but if we reboot into recovery again, it stuck at Bootloader unlock warning...
if i install this Recovery from Official/Unofficial TWRP 3.3.1-18, it works fine...

Same happened when flashed it from Blackout TWRP 3.4.0.. Sharp recovery boots only once.. after reboot, it stuck at Bootloader warning..
Warning for everyone..
Don't flash it from any other Recovery based on TWRP 3.4.0.
Either stay on TWRP 3.3.1-18 or flash this Recovery from TWRP 3.3.1-18. Doesn't matter if TWRP is official/unofficial build...

I don't know if you remember LgPwN'd and the Pizza guy, Electimon, but does this Orangefox recovery need that AIO Toolkit that he had or can you install this OrangeFox recovery using the stock OS.

This is completely separate, you can just flash this how you would normally

What version of stock ROM do you use and what variant of the device do you have

Whenever I try to use the wipe function, my device won't boot.
I was able to replicate this by:
- Using the rescue and smart assistant to recover it
- After it boots, get into bootloader from power off and flash this recovery
- Boot into recovery from fastboot menu
- Wipe data option
- Reboot
- It boots to the motorola logo, but never into the "hello moto" part of the boot animation

So this was designed for your Lineage rom (not mentioned in the post) or others that use that file system. I was not aware of that, thank you for the clarification.
Perhaps append the original post so people don't make the same mistake as me?
I can fastboot flash it on moto e6 and go into OrangFox's recovery menu. I tried the menu selection for built-in Magisk install, it said it can not find Magisk file. What's the correct way to use it to install Magisk on moto e6 ? Thanks!

3. Reboot to download mode
4. Put the TWRP TAR for your device with Odin in the AP slot, vbmeta_disabled_R.tar in USERDATA slot and click start.
5. Reboot to recovery (keep your eyes on the inner screen) via recovery key combo (Vol up + power + USB connected).
6. Disable encryption:
- Go to Advanced > Terminal, type: multidisabler.If vendor complain about free space left on device, will attempt to resize vendor. and it ask to - Run multidisabler again!.- Type: multidisabler again. will see - Finished. when done.- Go back to Wipe > Format Data > type yes.- Reboot to recovery.7. Flash custom kernel and magisk apk in twrp.
8. Reboot to system, Enjoy.

Anyone flashed this? I'm loathe to format /data to find out it's not working, as I've got the phone well set-up.
Second question - on the Fold 3 when encryption was disabled via formatting /data in TWRP, the Dex would crash periodically, and sharing was malfunctioning: does Dex work perfectly here when /data formatted and encryption removed here on the Fold 4?

do it from twrp, by flashing magisk as instructed above in first post, and your device will be rooted. so far, this twrp works well

Hi I tried to install it and got bootloop on my samsung Fold 4, I mean the TWRP worked but it refuses to boot on the rom, I guess I'll wait for a custom OneUi rom

I did follow the tutorial as shown and ofc I did flash the kernel, I got the latest version of Android 13 on my SM-F936B
The twrp works perfectly but idk if it's an issue caused by the kernel but the system refuse to get in, it's always on the bootloop
