Will the G4 get the G5 UX update? - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just wondering how this was handled by LG historically. I could care less about the app drawer, I use Nova anyway but I think some things do look cleaner on the new Software.
Anyone know anything or have any opinions?

I'm 100% sure It will get It, as It happened with the G3 getting G4 UX and the G2 getting G3's.

Cool, thanks for the info. Weird that they rushed to release the M update but maybe that's why they changed very little from L for the first update.

It will definitely get the latest UX.

hope so but im not so sure...or at least all the features!

New UX has actually less features - they removed dual window, qslide, quick memo +, and other

maybe the missing features are due to unfinished software.

yep, due to unfinished software :/

OMG pls no thanks!

i hope not. the new quick settings and settings app look ugly. too much white!

I don't hope so, too much white accents, if they only made a dropdown like in stock MM (with switchable icons ofcourse) and remove that ugly green color, I would be sooo happy! Only thing irritating me in the LG-UX

[REQUEST] Inkeffect for 4.2.1 XXUFMB3 deodex

Hello! I really like Inkeffect mod ,so please help me.:fingers-crossed:
A lot of work is needed but the features are there. Wait for Samsung to finish it or for someone to rebuild the entire framework.
Doubt it'll happen before another leak appears soon

Right now, i think it's not possible due ripple effect changes, but inkeffect seems to be present. So we should wait to have Note II update to 4.2.1 to fully implement it.

Yepp.. I've been looking around tonight, every aspect of INK seems to be present, even the ink smali files. Seems like it's just not enabled. Tried to simply add the ink toggle in lockscreen_settings.xml , but that one would not even show up (?) .. very strange.
Also weather seems to be there - but not enabled. So, I think we do best in wait a little bit more. Maybe it will be there as deafult.
However the implement can't be that hard in this FW, since much of it is allready there. Will try to get it going anyway (just because I'm bored)
But as a conclusion it seems like official release might be quite diffrent, in a good way
EDIT: Ink is in android.policy as well.. wonder where we can kick it to life.

[Lockscreen] LG Optimus G / Galaxy S4 Lockscreen

Works PERFECT on my Nexus 4 running 4.4 PSX v2 ROM Should work on ANY ROM.
Found this app while browsing in personalization category in playsore, both apps are FREE and they're really smooth, customizable and cristal clear, I saw many people trying to port other devices lockscreens to the Nexus 4 but failed, download it while you can before Google take it down from the play store
Don't forget to press thanks if this helped you in any way, thanks in advance!
Note 12/22/13: In order to remove the lockscreen delay move this app from user app to system app, it'll still have a little delay if you lock and unlock too fast (1 second lock)
You can move an user app to system with this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lockscreen.galaxy
Note: This app asked me for root and I granted it, I don't know if it can be used without root.
All credits goes to the developer of this application andev888.
To Moderators: If this isn't the correct section or this isn't allowed to be posted feel free to move/remove the thread.
why its so important to hit thanks button?
Why not just share to make people happy?
btw, LG Optimus G worked like a charm ( asked root permission )
I was hoping it had the crystal effect which really kick a**
But a nice lockscreen indeed.
Tested and works on Purity 4.4.2 too.
I search LG Otimus lockscreen long time, THANKS :good:

Yeah, It has a little delay if you lock and unlock fast, but if you leave it locked for 5 seconds or so it won't have any delay at all

I was wondering if developers in XDA will be able to port those lockscreens into default lockscreens in their ROMs, or maybe they could look at the apk and figure how to make more lockscreens with other effects, like Xperia Z and so on(?)
If the music controls worked then I would've used it probably.
G2 lockscreen?

Why do you want so many permissions for a simple lockscreen app??
I takes over 100mb ram & makes my fone can't go to deepsleep with omni rom

It has a very minimum permissions as needed.
Surprises me because i never see people complaining about apps like Facebook or viber which has full access to every permission.

My phone goes deepsleep, but this one takes huge amount of ram and resources, it even doesn't launch emediatly after you press power button. You see your homescreen and after sec you see lockscreen. But it's beatiful

Google it we with latest version number. I always find apps m sure u also will. give it a try
BTW lock screen are awesome, I was tired of the stock lock screen. Haven't tested the battery life and ram usage but these lock screen are beautiful and highly customizable.
I cannot choose custom wallpaper. Anyone else facing this problem?

Custom wallpaper is being used currently on my N4
While in background these apps use ~25 Mb memory. While unlocking it goes up to 60Mb which I think is quite obvious. Not a big thing to worry about as those other devices out there use way to much than this. Also there are no music controls idk if those are provided with OEM devices or not. But good thing is, we still have expandable status bar while in lock screen and can be used to control music.
Edit : One problem seems to be that we cannot use kill all button in recents menu, it kills the custom lock screen process.

For a single reason : this is NOT Active Display (means screen always on; with only a few pixels lighten up to display time, only exist for AMOLED screens), AcDisplay by AChep, does not keep the screen on at any time, only when notification comes or when you press a button [or using proximity sensor]

Has anyone tested the battery impact of the active mode? Is it awfull? Because having a sensor always active must munch badly on the battery no?

Yes I used that prior to testing this keyboard ,it's pretty good as well and the best part you can adjust it's height so when one switches DPI on TW ROM they don't have to look for a 240dpi modded keyboard the LG can be re arranged to one's liking but i found the responsiveness on LG G3 keyboard a bit slower than stock samsung and this z2 keyboard.
if I give you the reason why, I carry in my rum on the samsung 240 and great for now which suits me better, and more i likeq

[Q] help! get rid of on screen apps visual feedback

Hi. I just noticed that my G3 gives visual feedback when you press an apps icon on the main screen and the app drawer. If I'm not wrong, it was not like that about 2 hours ago.
How can I get rid of the visual feedback when I press ing an app/ icon?
Thanks!

Just added some pictures so you guys can have an idea of what I'm talking about!
Mine has always done that
O.k. let me put it this way: is there a setting to turn that big box or square into just a glowing animation or maybe nothing? I don't want to root yet and even though I love the Google now launcher (just upgraded from a Nexus 5) I like the G3's launcher features. So my goal is to explore and enjoy the stock launcher as much as I can, beside, LG with their new UI has giving me the feeling that being skinned is not so bad after all...
Hey I know this is normal, but why can't the icons just behave like the ones above the nav bar that just kind of glow when touched??? Does anyone know how to make this different???

Exactly my point! Thank you for understanding my question! Anyway apparently there's no way to change that other than rooting or with a different launcher... Problem is that I like the G3's launcher and don't feel like rooting

Personally I don't. I've read about it, don't remember where though. I don't have anything against rooting, is just that I change my phone very often. The last phone I kept for 2 years, rooted and flashed roms was a droid 2 lol. I used to love it!

I just rooted the G3, got myself the G3 tweaks box, have done some customization but haven't been able to get rid of the visual feedback when you press an icon-app on the home screen (see 1st post attachments for pics).
Is there a way to get rid of the feedback or just change the animation with tweaksbox?
Now that I'm rooted I'm willing to try other methods as well. As long as is not flashing a Rom or some crazy mods since I like the G3's UI.
Thanks again!
Btw can this be moved to the customization page?
