LG G4 Sharpening - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I trying to find info about how modify screen sharpness on lg g4 screen but can't find anything. I would like a little more sharpness.
Does anyone know if it is possible?

What do you mean by sharpening,? G4 has same QHD resolution as G3 but also has much better contrast and color reproduction. So it's already much better display than the one on G3.

Low brightness?

I would like to ask as a new owner of LG Optimus G, model E975.
I owned Optimus 4X HD before and this mobile is better in all ways except one thing which is brightness of display.
It seems very low to me.
I compared it to HTC One X, Sony Xperia M, Iphone 5, Optimus 4X and all have significantly brighter display.
I have also a problem to read a display under sunlight.
I would like to ask, how do you see brightness of your Optimus G comparing to other phones?

Adjust brightness slider at 50% and switch on auto mode . Brightness should work fine indoor and in sunlight .

Screen color tone difference between D850 and F460S

I currently have 2 G3's and I've noticed that my F460S has a more yellow screen than my D850 which is more blue. Is there a good way to adjust the tone to match my D850? The whites on it looked much better, and I would like to change whatever is needed to match it the best that I can. I'll upload some pictures later tonight.

About the camera

One thing I have notice with the pictures/movies taken with G3 is that they are way oversaturated, the picture isnt natural in color.
Are there any app/kernel which makes it possible to adjust the saturation in the camera?

Not really experienced this high level of saturation you speak of, i have paid for LGCam though which does let you change some extra settings

Thans, sad that there where no settings for the other things I mention. I realy hop LG fix their camera, G3 isnt the only model that takes pictures which is oversaturated in colors.

I think you have a handset specific issue tbh, none of my photos are and even reviewers said it has very accurate colours
Not one single image taken on my G3 is oversaturated, the colours are actually very natural, and look great.
The poster above me is probably correct, you may have some fault with your G3.

What app are you using to take pictures with?
Are you viewing the photos on your computer, tv or on G3 itself?
If on PC or TV, their color saturation and balance will affect what you think is the photos themselves, but infact the colours are pretty good.

No, the color arent that natural. I am a photographer and its pretty easy to see the oversaturation.

To me it is clear that the Lg G3 have more unnatural colors:

Also one thing that I see on almost every picture on faces is that the skin dosent look natural, unsharp. Zoom in on those faces to see what I mean:

Anybody switch from the G3 to the G4? I have a question to ask

I have switched myself from the G3 to the G4 and I think the upgrade is justified. Speed and battery (along with camera) are so much better with the G4. One thing I noticed with the G4 though is that the whites don't seem to be as "white" on the G4. Is this just due to how LG intended or did I get a dud of a phone?
Might have got a dud, but a lot of people complained of Oversharping in the display on the G3, so they might have corrected it by dulling the whites a bit. Mine seems to be pretty normal (I never suffered from oversharping)

Deeper blacks?

Hi guys, I just bought the G3 international and I love it, awesome device. But I'm really disappointed with the display. Yes, the 2k resolution is amazing and I find the color reproduction OK, but the problem is there's literally no black, it's blue instead. I know it's not amoled, but I expected some sort of black from an LG ex-flagship device, instead of the blue of chinese low end devices. I don't see anybody talking about this, wich is weird to me given that it was a flagship device, and the issue is really noticeable. It bothers me a lot. So here's my question, is there any way to calibrate the screen so I can make the "black" less blue and more like actual black? Like using kcal or something similar? The built in settings do nothing.
Thanks a lot!
Nice thread

Do you have your device rooted? If so, you can try kcal by yourself. I'm not sure if I wanna root it for now.
Without rooting, I don't know of a way to do this. If you do decide to root and unlock bootloader, if you flash a custom kernel, some have support for the type of display calibration you want, through an app called "Kernel Adiutor". Besides this, I'm not aware of a way to do that.

If you're coming from an AMOLED device it might be difficult for you to get used to G3's LCD, the things you can do if you're rooted is change saturation, contrast, dispaly value, hue and color calibration but it won't make black look like if the screen is off like in AMOLED. Although, you say that black reproduction is more like blue... maybe you got a faulty screen mine doesn't look like that just like a dark gray...

You tried opening an image of solid black color on fullscreen with brightness more than 50%? I'd be OK with dark gray, but on my device it's really blue.

Yep at 100% and it looks more like gray than blue, but maybe our color perspective is different. You can try with another LCD display like a TV at 100% brightness and compare them to see if the black looks the same

I also have a Moto G 2015 and on which the black looks dark gray. I didn't like Moto's display at first but when I compare it to the G3's display I like it better in terms of black reproduction(while far from displaying black, it's closer to black than blue). So I assume it's not my eyes' fault, maybe I have a faulty display. I rooted the device and installed cm13. I'm gonna play with kcal app a bit.
Root void warranty of g3
