Help! How to flash the nokia n1 original firmware? - Nokia N1

A firend of mine gave me a Nokia N1 tablet.
I I immediately wiped data factory reset.
When i turend it on, it asked me for the old google account and my friend forgot it.
It says "this device was reset to continue sign in with a google account previously synced".
I just tried with some tricks to bypass it, like turning off the modem while software verification. I'm stuck at the lockscreeen but i can access into folders by using PC.
How can i bypass it? Can i Just flash the original firmware to bypass it?
If yes, how do i flash the original firmware?
Thank you all!

I suggest you install the temporary cwm recovery and after you booted to it, go to the wipe menu and select factory reset/wipe this will bring the nokia back to the factory settings completly without keeping the google sync options (might as well do cache wipe also just in case)

Sorry for the late reaction.
I suggest you follow the steps in this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-n1/help/nokia-n1-root-t3125771
Until step 7, if all is good you're in the CWM recovery menu, in here select the option wipe, then select the option wipe/factory reset (this will reset the tablet to it's factory state), you will lose your personal files but not your system files (be sure not to wipe the system or data apart, as this will break your tablet/system).
If you have more problems please say so, im glad to be helping.

[Q] Help!! Stuck at boot screen

Hi All,
My Gnex with specs
Product Name : Tuna
Variant - : Maguro
HW Version : 9
Bootloader : PRIMELA03
Baseband : I9250XXlF1
Carrier : None
Signing : Production
Lock State : Locked
is stuck at boot screen, i noted that it used to restart when i connect it to my Jabra EasyGo. I have tried to wipe clean the cache and tried turning on/off many times, but of no use. It had Jellybean 4.1.1 OTA update. I am newbie to android flashing/rooting, the problem is i need to restore my data, i have not done any backup other than just apps.
Kindly help me recover my data. Awaiting response.
Well at this point I usually recommend flashing stock using efrant's guide in the sticky, but since your bootloader is locked, I can't see how would you do it without potentially losing all of your data. Although for some reason it doesn't wipe my data when I unlocked mine, I wouldn't gamble it if your data is important.
Have you tried factory reset from the stock recovery? That shouldn't wipe your /sdcard partition.
What happened that you are now stuck at boot screen? What did you do with the phone immediately before this issue?
You could adb pull /sdcard/..

I did nothing at all, i use jabra easyGo, n usually it restarted and came back normal, it happend only when ever i started the jabra and Gnex's bluetooth at same time, i can grasp it was some issue during bluetooth pairing, but it i started bluetooth at Gnex first, it went ok and paired and talked hours. can you help me recover my data?
I think zepius may be right. With a locked bootloader, you cannot boot custom recovery to enable adb, and without custom recovery and no boot, you cannot use adb pull. My mistake, i always assume everybody is unlocked. Looks like that factory reset is beckoning.
Are you rooted?

its heart breaking, Android loosing value, i always defended it in front of iOS.
To be fair, if iOS doesn't boot, hard reset by pressing power+home button will also wipe your data clean.

[Q] N910A>Lollipop 5.0.1> Manual Update> "NO FIRMWARE"

I have an AT&T SM-N910A Note 4, currently on Lollipop 5.0.1. It is permanent unlocked via CODE and I'm using it outside the US with a foreign SIM with no problems.
Last April 14 ATT released a firmware update (OTA) to 5.0.1 with new:
Baseband Version: N910AUCU1COC4
Kernel Version: [email protected]#1
Build Number: LRX22C.N910AUCU1COC4
When i try to get that update via ">Settings>General>About Device> Software Updates"... it does NOTHING. Just display a text saying "No Firmware".
To me it seems I'm being ruled out from updates....
Does anyone knows why is this? Do I need to be a current AT&T customer to have updates?
IS THERE ANY PLACE TO FIND THE LATEST 5.0.1 FIRMWARE files to update from ODIN??
Thank you guys for your help!!

Happened to me too on the initial Lollipop update. Basically, the update was downloading, but would fail at install. Eventually, I got the "No Firmware" toast every time I tried to check for updates.
I had to go to Best Buy and they reflashed Kitkat (Because they didn't have the update yet). After that, the update check worked again and the update installed.
And as just stated, there is no 5.0.2 update. Only 2x 5.0.1 updates. First update was the Lollipop OS. The second was just a patch to correct some things.

It wasn't a factory reset. It was a reflash. I didn't lose any of my files, apps, or settings. It was like updating via OTA, except the Best Buy guy did it via USB and the update was the same exact firmware version that I already had.
I'm not even sure if Best Buy is an option for you, but using Odin to reflash the latest Kitkat firmware should do the same thing. I say this because I've done it on my Samsung tablet and I don't lose apps, settings or data. I do lose root though (easy to regain), but that won't matter with the n910a anyways.
Edit:
Using the firmware repair option in Kies may work too, but not 100% sure if it'll retain your data since I've never tried this before.

Just tried it but there is a warning about loosing all data if performing that.
Best Buy is not an option for me.
Unfortunately, flashing the update via Odin is your only option at this time. You will not be able to upgrade firmware via OTA, if not on an ATT network. There are apps that will allow you to backup and restore your call history and text messages without root. You can try copying your android data to your external storage card and copying the files back to the device after the firmware has been flashed.

Hey @thepinkpanter, just saw your post.
First, if you haven't already, remove the battery, boot into recovery mode and do a factory data reset, then reboot.
If you already tried that, then I would try flashing back to KK (NIE or NK3) both files can be found in the General Thread for the ATT N4. Use can use ODIN ver 3.0.7, 3.0.9 or 3.10.6, just follow the instructions for the specific ver you choose.
Let me know if you need further assistance..

Hey @thepinkpanter
You can flash NIE over OC4. I have done so a few times myself. Currently I'm using NK3.
It looks to me like your data partition is not being wiped. If I am remembering correctly, you do not get the android is updating screen on initial boot.

I would suggest selecting Nand Erase All, F. Reset Time, along with Auto Reboot in Odin on your next attempt. This will erase all of your partitions (system, data, etc) prior to flashing the ROM files. Unfortunately, this will erase all of the data on your internal storage card, but I believe this will fix the problem you're experiencing.
Do not select Re-Partition or EFS Clear, this will wipe your phones IMEl.

How to completely erase the memory? Does installing TWRP will do it?

Hello,
I have a potentially suspicious zenfone 2 (550ML/Z008D), and would like to completely erase it from zero.
As I heard, some "hacks" bypass any data wipe under recovery mode, make it harder to erase.
I heard that TWRP will do the job, is this the case?
My situation is a bit complicated, because i don't know anything about android until now.
Hi would like :
-Save my actual "user" data's (apps, preferences)
-Erase completely the phone, meaning that if there is a hack it will be erased
-Re-install android 6.0
-Re "lock" it, make it harder to "unlock" if any people have access to it (maybe bootloader have to be relocked, if an unlock is necessary for this process).
Any help would be really appreciated!
Thanks a lot community

Go to recovery and factory reset it your phone will be new even if u try TWRP it will do the same only thing is u can select what partition u want to wipe in TWRP....And I don't get what spy's hack bypass u are talking about....Once your device is factory reset nothing can be recovered...

i don't have twrp. simple. i want to erase the memory for truth, i know a lot of spying apps can stay even with factry reset (recovery mode and wipe data).
i did not installed twrp yet. but someone on reddit told me it will allow me to erase the memory better than with recovery mode.
troubles it's, if my company "spied" me and continue to do while i work at the concurrent, they can access to private informations. that would be really bad.

Your company cannot put anything on your phone what will survive a factory reset
Unless , they are hackers colluding with ASUS
Do a factory reset , when setting up again after bypass internet set up...click on app drawer and disable all and even uninstall the junk before going online.
What date of build is it , what build is it in settings ?

but you are wrong, there's ton of guide on the web to how to set up a spy in an android phone that will not be bypassed by data wipe on recovery mode.
somehow there's some space to put anything you want.
i'm just looking to erase that

Personally , I think you are being rather paranoid
Although , the Google chrome app that comes installed give me a bit of grief in the past ..so disabled that...in stock...
You can dump stock , go with the new lineageOS ...trouble is , unless your company are hackers ...or you are being monitored, nothing can stop them from doing so

Please help - Sold OnePlus 3 on eBay - Buyer is stuck on "This device was reset"
Please help - Sold OnePlus 3 on eBay - Buyer is stuck on "This device was reset" even though I have reset/wiped the device.
What can i do to help them?
The device was sent on the latest OxygenOS.
Thank you so much in advance.
I believe you would need to login to the phone.
The bypass menu only comes up if you reset with either a screen lock active or a google account on the device when you reset.
I am sure when it first came out there was a way around messing with the keyboard or something, but I am unsure if this was patched or not?
this is a google security feature - you need to log into the phone.
best way to do this might be to have them log into the phone and immediately change your account passwords afterwards. not sure what else

Why don't you tell them to turn off the phone, power + volume down, select forgot password and wipe the device? That should be enough to get rid of all previous account data

This system uses a special partition to "flag" the device as protected from factory resets. These will not work.

I work retail and return phones every day; we NEED to remove the accounts before wiping the device, or else the only reasonable way after wiping the device is logging into the account. 2x4 is right.

Exactly the system, wipe the device by flashing Open Beta or unlock the bootloader and flash a custom ROM and wipe everything, reload stock recovery, wipe everything then sideload 4.1.6.
Working retail you can't play around with phones the same as I would with my own phone so you're dealing in a completely different environment.
There are options in place in case someone messes up its not unrecoverable

Will not be able to unlock the bootloader anymore, it needs to be enabled in the OS. If it's not already unlocked it's not going to be.
I also doubt flashing stock OOS would remove the FRP, that would kind of defeat the purpose of having FRP in the first place if you could just go to the OEM's website and flash something in 5 mins.
Why not simply use the unbrick tool? That should return the phone in a factory-like state.

1) Check this article to see if you can remotely remove the device from your end (never tried this myself): https://help.ting.com/hc/en-us/articles/205666168-Removing-Android-Activation-Lock
2) Assuming your account is not full of sensitive data, change your Google password temporarily and give it to the buyer (may be easier to call or live chat them if possible). Once they get in, change your password back. Not exactly safe, I probably wouldn't do this myself. If you do be sure to take caution- 2 step your account after, force log out all devices to your account.
3) Cough up the shipping cost to return the item and try to sell it again. Unfortunately you would have to pay the return fee + lose the original shipping fee.
TIP: Before selling a device, DO NOT factory reset it then box it up without turning it on. Factory reset, THEN test to be sure it goes to the home screen and working properly. You can then reset it again or sell it at the home screen after skipping the setup steps.
For reference to others reading this thread - always REMOVE your accounts BEFORE factory reset of your devices prior to selling to avoid this issue.
There are lots of ways to bypass this on YouTube. I actually did it yesterday. I had to unlock a tablet. If adb is enabled, it's piece of cake.

blocked mi mix 2 - huge problem

Hi, I have following problem:
I have lineaegeOS on my chiron, device is unblocked.
System doesn't respond - I can put my 4 digits code but nothing happens, I still see begining page with the lock.
I can still have TWRP on the phone, but (I don't know how) partition is coded, even if I put my 4 digits unlocking code (information is: wrong code).
Is there any way to make my phone live? using usb otg can help here?
Please help me and sorry for my language - I don't know this technical words...
If this is wrong place to posat this question, please let me know as well.
You should ask your question in the thread of the ROM you installed.

ok man. your phone is encrypted, bicoz that u see ur partition "kfIengEOgfmkeigm3" like that; doesnt matter;
that method will delete all your data from internal storage
1. Boot to Twrp Recovery
2. Do a Factory Reset
3.WIpe everithing
4. Reboot to Recovery Again and copy Rom,gapps, etc

Including internal storage, I will not have access to the rom
So you should format everything instead of just wipe
And use the newest version of TWRP (for me it changed much)
and then install ROM from OTG pen

Currently I'm waiting for OtG, I will let you know of results.
your encryption of your data(internal storage) is corrupted. only way to solve it is factory reset where it will erase data and internal storage. either way your data is long gone.
i have bricked many of my phones cause of encryption. nothing could save it(had all my data got messed up.)

My advice for u is to factory reset and wipe everithing if otg and sideload doesnt work... i wanted to help u with an opinion about otg or sideload, but i dont know nothing about thats...search in XDA and see if another persons had this problem... myself i had that, but i deleted everithing unfortunately.... good luck and dont be scarr...that problem have solution

OK. After wiping data, phone started working (with some bugs...) , but still have problem with coding data in TWRP - access code to the phone doesn't work. But as I said - phone works, I'm on nightly lineageos which was put to the phone few days ago. Currently I have problem with refreshing new OS, putting new version, without errors.

only format data and caches. no need to touch vendor boot system etc.
be sure to use "format data" where it will ask you to confirm by typing yes
