Soft-bricked RIO-L03? Here's the stock firmware update you can apply. - Huawei GX8

http://huawei.com/usmobile/consumer/support/downloads/index.htm
Just choose the one for the RIO-L03 of course, and apply it like you would a stock update. Took a while for me to find this after I soft-bricked my GX8. Thought some people may find this helpful.

Thanks

Custom recovery (TWRP) or stock recovery install ROM.... you do not need a program to install rom.

Thanks

instructions
Just used this stock firmware to recover my RIO-L03 from softbrick.
you just need to extract dload directory from the ZIP file and then copy the dload directory to the root of a microSD card after that put MicroSD on the phone and press VolUp + VolDown and Power button until the phone vibrates, let go the power button and the Vol Buttons and the phone will begin to flash the FW, from 0% to 100% it will run a FW verification and do a reboot.
then the phone will reboot like 2 times and begin the normal process as new device.
I just want to help any user with the same problem to do it right.
cheers to tomelleri for finding this firmware, you saved my RIO-L03!

It looks like maybe they removed it?
I'm getting 404. When I look through support for the gx8 on huawei.com, it has the kernel but not the ROM.

I still have the file on my computer or phone, if you still need it just tell me and I will gladly post a link for the file to download.

I don't know...I installed a Stock Rom 6.0 from this forum and screen flickers. They told me to unzip the modem file from a 5.1 (the one Im using right now) and flash it....do you think this will happen again with those stock roms?

I have RIO-L03C69B004. Did as suggested, but everytime I reboot it goes to TWRP , and it stays there. I even restored a backup of a few days ago; restarted the phone and everytimes goes back to TWRP.
Any suggestions?

Thanks a lot for your help. I found the method to restore the stock rom. However am facing a wierd problem. Every time I try to copy the UPDATE.APP to the dload folder, it proceeds up to half and then gets stuck. After sometime I get an error message saying " Cannot move UPDATE.APP: The device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected"
I have tried a dozen time and the same thing happens over and over again. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance!!
UPDATE: Seriously I sometimes believe machines have a mind of there own with their own mood swings or something. I had copied the UPDATE.APP in the sdcard dload folder but was not able to copy it on the internal drive. Earlier when I tried rebooting to recovery for installing the rom it didn't work and I thought it was cause the UPDATE.APP was not in the internal storage. After much tinkering I finally did a factory reset and then rebooted into recovery again and somehow IT WORKED. From what I think, I guess it wasn't working earlier due to the CWM but i have no idea!!! Any thanks a million for your help!!!

For downgrade from B506 to B125 you will need a middle step. First flash that: https://mega.co.nz/#!9oEHUTiR!uVKEq6PYefO-p4_kJcJpHw2luWZT8QZ5yrnedx4rug4 via stock recovery, after that you will able to flash B125.

No such step needed, you just try to make downloads with that link.
Tested without that step and all went well.
I've downgraded twice but never used that file. What is true (if i remember well) every time, at the firs boot, phone got stuck at logo. Installed the same firmware again and worked. At the second install, i think the script saw that something was not in place and did a factory reset. Maybe a factory reset should be done before downgrading.

Actually, this method works. I did not need the middle step. Just put the download update.app in the sdCard root AND in the dload folder, and then do a stock recovery boot.
In fact, I used the systems local update and got B125 no problem at all.

My device keeps rebooting

Hey guys.
I was in my recovery mode. Suddenly my device rebooted and since then it keeps rebooting. I can't even power it off. some times it get back to stock recovery mode and restart after several seconds.
Any idea how can I fix it or reboot it in bootloader mode ?
I tried vol down and power switch but it does not work.
Holding vol up and down show me usb update mode but I get an error about secure boot or something. And when I want to flash zip files using that stock mode every one of them failed in verification and can't be install.
How can I fix this mess ?
hello.
Try to replace your sdcard by a raw sdcard with only the dload file and the UPDATE.APP of your current version in it. Or your previous version depending what you did earlier.
Hold power and + - volume when the phone reboots. An update should run normaly..
Hope it will help you
Thanks , I created a SDCard with `dload/UPDATE.APP` inside it. But update agent did not recognized it.
Try to put the dload folder with the update.app file, on the internal storage and see if it works like that.

If you can enter fastboot i would suggest an odd way of installing the updates. Go to this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2433454 and download the extractor. With it you can extract the .img files from the update.app file and flash the one by one via fastboot. Just do flash them in the order as their numbers. Report back if it works.

Roll Back to MarshMallow [BLN-L22]

Hi,
Below are the steps to rollback to Marshmallow from Nougat. I've only tested it on BLN-L22 so I don't know if it works with other variants.
Your bootloader would be locked. However, you can unlock again using the old unlock code.
You can find firmware of your version @ Honor Official Site
Download the Marshmallow firmware from here Honor India Official Support
Unzip it and place the dload folder in the sdcard (internal storage wont work)
Power off the device.
Press Volume Down + Volume Up + Power key to log into Huawei software upgrade
Let it finish. Now installation is done. But now when you will boot, it will bootloop and go to Huawei ercovery. Simply select the shutdown option
Once the device is off, press Volume Up + Power. This will take you to Huawei Recovery
Wipe data and Wipe Cache
Restart. You are back to MarshMallow
Kindly do the above at your own risk. It worked for me, but it may brick for you.
Edit : User @honor6xak was able to rollback after wiping the system using TWRP and following above steps. If there is no system, there would be no firmware for Honor to overwrite. It would be as good as flashing fresh.
Method 2.
1. Make a nandroid backup (complete backup) and save it somewhere safe. Just in case things get messy.
2. Download the official firmware (Marshmallow) from the Honor official site.
3. Extract the dload folder from the firmware and put it into an sdcard (physical one).
4. Reboot to TWRP and wipe data + system. Twrp will warn you about wiping system. Once you do it. Power off the device.
5. Press volume up + volume down + power this will take you to Huawei recovery and will auto install the firmware if the folder is there in sdcard.
This is a tad bit risky but if you have nandroid backup then you can be on a safe side. But still do it only if you are sure. I don't have money to pay if you Sue me
The above link is for the Indian firmware for the US firmware (L24) you'll have to go to the us website. I'd link it but I had to create a new account as my old one is apparrently tied to an email I don't remember.

Yes, that's the reason I specified the BLN number. You don't need to login to have the firmware download. If you can give the link we can update the post.
Edit : I've updated site for Official firmware of various regions in the main post
It's official mm r ( this is root mobiles or unrooting mobiles ) any virus problem

If you flash these official version you'll get unrooted and your bootloader would be locked again. But you can unlock the bootloader again and root also.
Since it is from official website I doubt it will have any virus
So hacky but... you can find the 'rollback package' here http ://www, hihonor, ]com/us/support/details/index,html?[DOC_ID=94205] and the firmware here http ://www, hihonor, [com/us/support/details/index.html?][DOC_ID=94205]
Just remove the spaces, brackets and replace periods with commas.

Hello bro,
I several times tried the method that you mentioned in your thread using a memory card but it always failed. I'm very curious how it worked for you. Right now I unlocked and rooted my Honor 6x BLN-L22.
I just want to know if your phone was unlocked when you tried this method.
If yes I'll give it a try. It might work this time.
Thank you

You can do one thing I don't know if it work but you can try it. Download firmware finder from play store. Search for the latest nougat firmware then select download. There would be two files 1. Update.zip 2. BLNxxxx some name. Download the second file. Then flash it with twrp.
Now do the procedure as I described in the first post. When I did the roll back I was on the unofficial nougat version.
I'll search for some other method. Sorry it didn't work for you.

Thanks a lot bro. I'll try that.
It worked for me on my BLN-L24, rolling it back to I could exchange it. However I had to do a couple other steps first to get it to work, so here's my full steps that worked for me:
1. If you have twrp or another custom recovery, flash it back to stock.
1a. To find the stock recovery I had to get it from the zip file here since I'm a dumbass and didn't make a backup: If you have twrp or another custom recovery, flash it back to stock.
2. If you have a custom bootloader, flash it back to stock.
3. Download and extract the stock rom. Flashing it from zip will not work.
4. Copy the UPDATE.app to /sdcard/dload/ (not a physical sdcard, if that's what's confusing you.
5. Turn the device all the way off.
6. Press and hold volume up, and volume down, then press and hold power until the phone starts booting, immediately release it once you see something on the screen.
It should now 'update' your phone back to EMUI 4.1.

What did you do that you are stuck at TWRP?
Tell the history then we can suggest something
Download the update_data_full_BLN-L22_channel_in.zip and place it on sdcard.
You can then flash it with TWRP

You cannot directly flash the 4.1 file on your nougat. If you want to do that then you have to use the procedure I gave in the first page.
The link I gave is for nougat version. Basically, when I had a similar problem like you I flashed the 733mb file and my phone was able to boot.
Wipe data in TWRP
Flash the 733mb file
Wipe cache
I hope it works

Both methods didn't work for me though I flashed the 733mb file using TWRP successfully.
