Hi all!
By popular demand and so we can start delving a little deeper into customising our devices, I've prepared a de-odexed, rooted and Xposed ROM for our Honor 5Xs, based on the B130 build.
What does this mean?
De-odexed means that the apps no longer have a dependency on the framework files, so you can tweak them to your hearts content. This is a requirement for Xposed on the device too.
Rooted means root access is pre-installed, generally speaking required for Xposed.
Xposed means the Xposed framework is pre-installed. You simply need to download and install the Xposed APK from this thread.
For maximum Xposed compatibility, theming is disabled using the 'ro.config.hwtheme=0' setting in the /system/emui/base/prop/local.prop file. Change this back to '1' at your own risk, it may break Xposed horribly.
Before installing, make sure you take a full back up. Be aware that as the dex cache needs to be rebuilt for every app, the first boot after installation will take a long time. Really, a very long time. You SHOULD be able to dirty flash over stock.
Feel free to do with this ROM as you please, use as a base for your own custom ROM etc., but please give credit and don't just mirror the files directly.
This ROM is based on the B130 Custom ROM template.
DOWNLOAD - customromtemplate-5x-kiwl21-b130-r3-root-deodex-xposed.zip [romraid] - MD5: a2372d7e4bb9cbec9ba428c96e02b1b2
Enjoy!

Yes it will run on L24 I tried it already?

Any call recorders app in play store work fine
For example ACR free or premium or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1441643

Many thanks for this, running perfectly on my L-21 and as a noob quite pleased to get this working without bricking my phone.
Now just got to work out how to access the xposed options.
Google don't fail me now!

Yup spent this evening playing. Managed to brick and recover phone once tonight trying to get some modules to work. Didn't happen as expected and went into a boot loop thing when I tried to restart. Glad I was careful enough to do a backup now.
Might leave exposed till I know a bit more about what is going on with it.

Haha yeah I'm pretty new to it as well but I been playing with it on cm13 rom

This ROM works well, thank you !

If I restore the phone, update to B140 and then reflash this will it work?
I guess what I am asking is can I have this ROM which I am happy with, and still have the latest update?

you can, but you won't gain anything. the update would be over written by the rom
the rom has to be rebuilt with the b140 base for it to work

@paulobrien :
Do you plan to upgrade this Rom to b140 ?
Or should i use KIW-L21 C432B130 (UK) full revert package then make the update to b140, flash TWRP, SuperSU and Xposed ?

Yes, I will be updating this to B140.

You are the best.

I installed it. Looks good at first sight.
I got following issues:
* The gapps 20140105 from http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Gapps don't work: After installing via CWM, a gapps installer is started which is immediately terminated. This happens in an endless loop.
* My app accessing the camera and putting an overlay has the wrong resolution. Also happens on other recent ROMs

I flashed gapps with philz touch (http://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/p930) without any issues. I have had issues with TWRP and CWM, something to do with the kernel not being selinux I believe..
What app are you using with the camera ?

How is the performance of this rom.. I have flashed mokee versions but it's very slow.. I still on unofficial slimbeam.. For me is the best rom based on JB 4.2.2

I think it out performs mokee. I am using a different launcher though (Google's launcher). It is not perfect ,It is using the cm11 kernel so it is doing as well as that.. I am using it as my daily ROM.. Battery life is 24 hours or so.

You can try it when an official API22 Xposed Installer apk and or API22 supporting method or released.
If you have the OB7 bootloader, you can go back for lollipop or KitKat Xposed. Otherwise wait for it.

If you tried romracer's API22, that wont work, youll have to wait on arter's API22, which i dont believe is out yet.
Yep, still just the v65 SDK21 for krait currently. Gonna have to wait a bit.

no he's saying that if you have the OB7 bootloader you can always go back to a previous version of touchwiz that supports Xposed. (i.e. if you updated to 5.1.1 by flashing a zip, but not updating the bootloader to OG5)

Actually Galaxy Tools is a better indicator. On my phone with OG5 modem and Beastmode kernel and stock OB7 ROM with stock OB7 build.prop, the software version shows up as OG5, but build and Android version say OB7 and 5.0.1.
But since some developers edit the build field on build.prop, Galaxy Tools is more accurate regarding the bootloader.

Unfortunately, it's only for Sdk 25 which corresponds to Nougat 7.1. Currently, our LG V10 received 7.0 (Sdk 24).
Sadly, for now, we won't have working Xposed. We need to wait.

H960a? If the bootloader is unlocked, you need to use adb under cmd through PC, flash in fastboot twrp and then flash SuperSu .zip in recovery. For more detailed guide see one of the topics here on xda, I was using it to get it done.

I also installed it as suggested here. Although it says that xposed is active, I can't seem to activate moduls like Greenify (yet). But then that was to be expected with an unofficial version.

Hmm, I can't seem to get it working properly then :/
I mean I can activate the module under xposed, but in Greenify it wouldn't let me activate the functions where xposed would be needed, sending me back to xposed modules screen.
Rebooting via xposed or manually doesn't seem to change a thing.
I have the same problem. Every time yhat I try to set any xposed feature on greenify it always says that greenify module is not activated however it is. Does anybody knows how to solve or should I wait for another module update?

Is this the first time you are doing this?
Did you follow the steps exactly as outlined here?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...cross-device-development/twrp-exynos-t3763464
Did you flash the kernel patch afterwards or a custom ROM that has it patched already for you?
Keep in mind I was on android 8 when I used the patch in that thread, you may or may not have to look for a newer one.

Have you flashed the right Bootloader and Modem for your firmware?
Also give this verity patch a try
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/universal-dm-verity-forceencrypt-t3817389
If that doesn't work either then a custom rom is your best bet as you'll have pretty much everything done for you, SoLdieR9312 and _alexandr ROMS are probably the most stable and stock-like right now.

Question Running the EU Rom on a TMO 9Pro; interested in testing the Public 12 beta

I'm currently on the latest build for OOS 11 on my converted TMO 9pro.
I saw the public beta testing build dropped earlier today. Of I flash that to my phone, can I then flash the TMobile modem to my phone to get cell signal again?
Thanks in advance.
No
you cant flash anything on the betas
just updated, works fine (also root works if you follow https://www.droidwin.com/root-android-12-via-magisk-patched-boot-img-without-twrp/)
for some reason I got service right after flash without flashing T-Mobile modem

I think the 12.7.7 version mentioned is the version the modem is from. The 12.9.9 version is the OOS version.
Yes you can upgrade to the android 12 Beta . Also dual sim works with this version.

Im on the NA variant but using tmobile. I will say a few things about the 12(2) beta. It works realllllly fast...until it doesnt. Sometimes you'll get glitches and when closing an app and clicking something else too fast I notice its almost like the window didnt close all the way and it opens up the app I just closed. Other than that the speed is fantastic. I do not like the OneColor OS though.. I LOVED OxyOS and this stuff is kinda...meh. Overall its stable enough to use as a daily driver (my opinion) but I wish it retained more of the oxy OS looks

Thanks. I will just hold off for now, I don't want to risk anything.
Don't flash the modem. It bricks it on the beta.
So interesting thing. After unbricking back to EU I no longer need to flash the modem back onto the device? Still getting service no problem. (TMO)
