[solved] no audio from the jack output to amp / ok with headphones - Wileyfox Swift

hello
i have an issue with the mini jack audio out :
it sends signal when i plug headphones, but when i'm trying to pass music to a party, using cable such as jack/rca to amp, mixing table or external effect, the phone acts as there is nothing plugged : the sound still comes from its internal speakers.
i tried this in many situations, using all kind of cables and have really no explanation about that (maybe the impedance differs ?)
i found a workaround using a double jack adapter : i can plug both cable and headphones, it continues to work when i remove the headphones, as long as i don't remove everything.
do you have any idea about what could cause this issue or do you experience the same ? do you think it could be software related ?
i use cyanogenmod 13 latest nightly (android 6.0.1)
thanks !

I'm having the same problem and also on cyanogenmod 13. Didn't try it on factory firmware so don't know if it's software related.

thanks for your feedback i feel less alone !
please people if you have this phone and can try to plug it to an external sound system by jack, can you tell us if it works or not and what is your os ?
thanks, that would be much appreciated !

I have this problem with some setups too.
The latest nightly (20160408) seems to have a fix for this problem. I haven't tried it yet though.

just tried and it works, thanks a lot !

Get your earphones replaced. You can try by using another earphones. It worked for me as I faced the same problem you are facing currently.
Any other changes to the phone (modded, new ROM, OTA update, or anything else?); or the headphones just stopped working with no significant changes to the phone?
If the latter, there are apps that will allow you to toggle on/off headphones. But if it still doesn't work, you may have a hardware defect (headphone jack has become loose from the motherboard, for instance).
If not modded, try factory reset, or RUU (if available for your CID).
If modded, try a different ROM.

HTC Max 320 Earphones on the HTC 10

Hey, guys! I've recently purchased the HTC Hi-Res Adaptive Sound 2.0 Headset (Max 320). I've tried to use those on the 10 but had no luck. These headphones which use the Type-C input should technically work on the 10 as it supports the "Hi-Res Audio", but all I get when I plug in the Headset is "Accessory not supported". Could this be a hardware issue or a firmware issue? So I wanted to ask if any of you guys have it and if you do, how did you get it to work? I've also attached a screenshot of the message.

I'd try going under the developer options of your phone and checking the USB input and changing it to see if that gets you anywhere. It'd be pretty weird if the headphones are phone specific. I have a different pair of USB C headphones that have active noise cancellation that work on my other headsets. As a last attempt, try downloading the free trial of USB Audio Player and see if the headphones work with that app.

Hey @mnguyen127! I've tried what you told me to do, by changing the input type but it didn't work. I've tried all the options in the developer settings but it didn't work out. Do you have any other ideas?

Have you tried the USB audio player app? That thing has worked wonders for me when it comes to finicky USB C
I'm in a similar situation, and nothing I've tried worked. Now, I saw someone mention something about firmware on another similar thread, so we might just have to wait for when HTC finally decides to update the 10
I have a pair of JBL Reflect Aware C which are USB-C active noise cancelling headphones, but I've noticed that after a certain update, my headphones won't work without the USB Audio Player app. Same thing happened on my Google Pixel which makes me think that if you roll back the update on your phone, you'll probably get audio out of USB-C.
the high-res certified has nothing to do with the headphone Support. the suppor for those headphones are disabled so deep in System stuff, that me and other couldn't get it to work, even with Sound stuff from u Ultra and u11. you can't use them unless HTC supports them on the 10
I still have those from the Bolt when I tested the device. but can't use them. so either HTC Needs to fix it in their Firmware or they don't want it or so. maybe the cables inside are different from other usb c Audio devices so that might be a Problem too

Sound issues with 3,5mm headset on usb c (adapted), electrical crack on (un)plug then

Hi
just set up the device and all went fine, trying youtube music for the first time.
after some seconds the music disappeared with crackle sound through ehadset on highest volume.
unplugging and replugging the 3,5mm headset through adapter that came with device on usb c there was an electrical crack sound in the headset when un- and replugging.
closing the app and relaunching worked for a short time then sound disappeared on one ear. same crack in ears on (un)plugging.
second headset no difference, but then it works without any issues when using headset volume just one step below max volume.
so this is a known issue on that device, software thing or hardware thing?
evreything else is fine, should we cross check built in speaker on highest volume for crackles to chekc the hardware or do headset through usb c and built in speaker run throught two different output stage/amplifier circuits?
thx for any help
Yea this is happening. There is another thread here also talking about it. It drives me crazy... Seems to be software related (hope so), as some people said installing another rom solves the issue. I also noticed (at least until now) that the problem seems to involve instagram, everytime I had this issue, I checked and instagram was opened on background. I don't remember having the issue when I close instagram beforr plugging the headphone. Not sure about the relation though, still needs to test more.
I will install xiaomi.eu rom soon to test if this happens there also.
Btw, what miui version are you running?

Whatsapp aswell is a big issue. Some people said replacing the typec/jack adaptor works.. but i dont have another one for the moment to test.
ah, just saw the other thread, 2 sites already
so at least no hardware issue, at least not the device, maybe the adapter
thought about buying bluetooth or usb headset anyway as i think even if only some grams the 3,5 on the adapter always tears a little bit on the cord/usb c plug over weeks/months/years and might affect the port
after a restart and reinstalling youtube music i could not reproduce it anymore
have been listening half an hour music without any issues and had a phone call another 25 minutes with headset without sound issues
running global version with
global 10.2.9.0 PFBEUXM
while PFBEUXM should stand for eu anyway?
is there a way to flash another official rom without rooting/unlocking the device and loosing warranty?
thx

[HELP] New PCB doesn't work

Hi there folks,
My mic audio quality became very crappy, I've tried changing ROMs, cleaning it, but no success, so I bought a new PCB (the one for charging, mic, speakers and P2, not the main one).
I installed it and charging seems to be working fine, but no audio comes out from the speakers and the mic records audio in a very very very low volume (only in my PC with my speakers at high volume I can hear something).
I think it's software related, but I don't know where to start. I don't want to flash my ROM again because I did it this week already, I'm running Havoc OS 2.9 with Magisk, is there a way to fix it from system or recovery? Like reinstalling drivers in Windows or something like that.
Thank you in advance.

LineageOS 18.1[UNOFFICIAL ROM] SM-G920F Bluetooth audio not working

Hi,
So I've been using this ROM for a while as a daily driver, but for all this time I've been forced to use the mighty headphone jack, which i don't mind using, but on the bus it would be very convenient to not have a cable in the way. The problem is that the headphones connect but the audio always plays through the normal speaker. I THINK I've tried everything but the entire reasoning behind this post is because I most definetely haven't. Hopefully there's a way to maybe reinstall the bluetooth driver/module?
To be fair, I can and have only tested LDAC headphones, as i only have those to try at the moment, if that's the main problem I don't even know how to switch them to SBC or another basic codec.
Thank you in advance for all the suggestions.
