New update TWRP 3.0 for Mi5
***CHANGELOG***
[2016-03-24]
Remove Boot Verify patch, to fix offical ROM OTA update (to prevent bootloop)
Included 'Boot Verify' option in 'Advanced Settings'.
How to install:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery cofface_twrp_recovery_gemini.img
Link : google driver
Source: Cofface china dev

i'm using it since 24 mars, this is working great. the only bug present is the touchscreen who need 3/4minutes to work.

What does the 'Boot Verify' option do?

@29y6145
Flashed it (seems correctly) but after flash, i disconnected my phone
To make it reboot i just pressed power button for like 10 s
But after it rebooted i just could not access recovery
I dont know the exact button combination to enter recovery and i dont have root until i can get into it
How to?
thanks

Cool! Can you also fix accessing the encrypted data partition?
TWRP can do that with the Nexus 5X and 6P.
Thanks!
BTW: What does the "Boot Verify" option do?

I have flashed recovery but I can't see sdcard may be due to the encryption, but then what is the use of recovery if I can't flash anything.

I think the other recovery can deal with encryption, if you have used password not pattern.
Anyway, in the MIUI forum they wrote, wipe data, reboot, wipe data again and encryption should be disabled.
Did not test for myself yet

What other recovery?
Of course, when you wipe /data, then you disable encryption.

there is one from cofface (this thread) and one from ganfan (http://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-5/development/twrp-ganfans-treasure-box-t3343913) ganfan's ask for encryption password

Thanks. Did you try it?

So you cant root OOS 4.0?

I have searched and i havent find a solution
I updated, im on OOS 4.0 with F2FS everything smooth and nice.
After setting up i try to flash twrp and once i boot into it it ask me for a password wich isnt the one i put.
I saw some people are in the same problem as i but i didnt see anything taht could help me at all.
I tried with the modified twrp, same thing,
I just want to get it root, any solutions?
Thanks
Well, I managed to get OOS4 with root and data partition as F2FS.
I followed this procedure and worked out just great ! https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/...g-dm-verity-error.484019/page-2#post-15558781
Not sure if you can skip some of the steps but right now I have OOS4, with root and TWRP (modified) working and capable of decrypting !
You are encrypted.. Decrypt flash Oos 4.0 directly after that flash SuperSU. I do recommend you using freedomos

I read that TWRP just needs to update their recovery in case I decide to wait

I do recommend you to wipe userdata then install freedomOS. (you can choose what you want and what you dont want with freedomos)
1. Boot your device into fastboot
2. Go to your Adb drivers and type "fastboot erase userdata"
3. Once that completed adb push the freedomos zip file. I do recommend 3.4 based on OOS 4.0 or you can do what ever you like. Note: to use adb push I do recommend you to put the install zip in the same folder as the adb drivers then type "adb push NAME_OF_ZIP.zip(or just press tab) /system/
4. If you go to TWRP you will find the installation zip under the folder system.
5. Once that's done boot and profit.

It does not require USB OTG. I managed to get it to work without. Just format Data to F2FS and reboot the phone in recovery.
You can then via MTP easily transfer the files and flash in TWRP.

Don't! Do not use MTP the chance of corrupted files is to big, thats why Adb has been designed!

If you can access the OS, change pin/password within the OS to something else, then back to the one you always use then go back to recovery and it should work.

Well, if you are sure that you are on the right twrp version by Bluspark. Then I would start with a factory reset. Your phone is encrypted, somehow TWRP asks for a password that never has been setup.
Let's get into business.
On Android go to security settings and select swipe or none in security lock.
Reboot to fastboot, flash the latest TWRP V39, since you are already using bluspark TWRP I won't need to recommend it.
Reboot imediatly to TWRP, Data should get mounted now.
The TWRP version you are on at the moment is outdated, always use the latest build.

Reflash TWRP, reboot to recovery, when prompted to give permission to modify system partition you should slide to Yes.
That will keep TWRP in place.
My phone is cripted! on settings i read phone cripted so when i flash twrp it ask me password...
I try to set NONE to security lock but some problem...
I don't want format data again...

[Recovery] TWRP 3.1.1 (unofficial)

I was looking for a TWRP for the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2. I've found a chinese board where a user called YouLinw compiled TWRP for us. According to him and the users there (Google Translator) it seems to work. Can't test it by now, because my Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 isn't shipped right now. It was really tricky to register in this chinese board and then to download the file. You can download it yourself in the board and for all other users I made a mirror with no registration.
There's now a new english TWRP from Xiaomi.eu.
I don't take any responsibilities for this file. If you break or damage your phone, it's your fault!
The recovery is in chinese - but you shuold be able to use it with screenshots in your language.

Flash over Fastboot
Hope you like it.
Great find! Any idea what version of SuperSU can be used to root The device ?
In this chinese board there's something written like, that SuperSu 2.82 is suitable for the Mix 2 (without guarantee).

Can confirm, superSU 2.82 works on Xiaomi EU rom version 7.9.22
unable to mount /system after nadroid backup
TWRP installed fine and experienced no issues until I made a full Nandroid backup. After the backup I have issues flashing because the device is unable to mount /system . busy or in use error.
So now I wait until official TWRP.
If you are having any twrp issues just reboot into twrp and the issues will be gone. Try again!

For the life of me I cannot get this TWRP to do anything. My phone came with Global 8.5 Stable. I confirmed my bootloader is unlocked. I flashed the TWRP and booted it, it boots fine but trying to backup anything I get Failed to unmount "/system" (Device or resource busy). I tried to reboot back into TWRP still same problem, I tried to reflash TWRP through both fastboot and TWRP image installer. I downloaded the EU rom and tried to flash it and it also failed to flash. OEM unlock is checked, USB debugging is on. TWRP gets over written with the Mi Mix recovery whenever I boot back into system, it doesn't ask me if I want to modify anything when it first boots. Why is this giving me so much trouble I've never encountered this problem with TWRP. Any Advice?.
Thanks much

There is still no official TWRP available. I always do a full wipe factory reset and manual wipe everything before flashing anything. I also get the errors, but I've never tried to restore a backup because I usually just do clean installs each time because the ROMs available right now aren't stable enough for daily use.
The trick for EU rom is complete wipe than boot back into TWRP and try flashing. You will get 2 errors but will install fine. You can install USB drive or transfer EU rom through mtp via TWRP.
I'll do it like @allrockedout
It seems this TWRP is more beta than stable :-/
Also check the "Mount" button and uncheck the option to open all partitions readonly.
Then reboot TWRP. Last but not least before performing any flash operations (ROM or Magisk/SU-Stuff) check all partitions as marked - then do your flash work
i also miss some more partition that are available to other devices like EFS.
Did anyone know about another TWRP version or devs that are working on one?

This is actually quite easy
1. Unlock the phone using the well documented process
2. Download TWRP for Mi Max 3 (on your PC)
3. Get ADB tools on your PC
4. Download Magisk.zip on the phone
5. Put your phone in fastboot mode
6. Boot TWRP on the phone ( no need to install, you can disregard the encryption comment)
7. Using TWRP flash the Magisk.zip you have downloaded
8. Reboot - and you are rooted

Question Help - (almost) bricked phone [Solved]

Hi,
I was installing with TWRP the rom (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/unofficial-rom-13-0-encryption-lineageos-20-for-a52s-5g.4574453/) on the phone that had already the Andy Yanś Teble (https://sourceforge.net/projects/an...20230324-UNOFFICIAL-arm64_bvN.img.xz/download) .Something went wrong and although I wiped and formatted when I restarted the phone I got into a boot loop. Forced shutdown with VolUP+VolDown+Power and tried to restart in recovery to go back to TWRP but I cloud only get the standard recovery menu ( see picts). If I try to select reboot to bootloader I get only into a page with a msg :"Secure Check Fail : Modem¨
Via the ADB Sideload I have tried to reinstall the standard ROM but although the transfer seems to start , it remain a 0%.
I just tride to sideload a lineageos rom but although I see the counter going till 100% it does not work .
Any idea on how to get the phone back on its feet ?

Well, at the 3rd attempt and using odin and with a fresh downloaded last firmware of March I am back on stock.
I guess the length/quality of the usb cable might have played a (bad) role too.
Now back to square 0. I have to flash TWRP and all the rest after.
Thanks to all for the support.
You have to flash the latest version of stock ROM, and then reboot to stock ROM at least for once.
It appears that your phone's revision was bumped from rev1 to rev2 which caused your issue.
I thought I had already fixed this, but seems like it's still an issue. I'll take a look into it.
