Updating to Marshmallow

Guys I need your help. I have a rooted HTC one m8 with S On and Twrp recovery . I recently recieved an update notification for Marshmallow. I tried to install it but the phone just goes in to recovery and then I have to just reboot the system . Help me ?
You should unroot, flash stock recovery and try again. If you have exposed installed or have altered other parts of the system it won't install

I did not install anything while rooted . How can I unroot and flash stock recovery ? Sorry I am new on this stuff. I was an Apple user for a long time ?
You can't unroot the rom. You need a pure (never rooted) stock backup and the stock recovery !
Ota will fail even when you only rooted it and try to unroot it. This is exactly why everybody need to create a pure stock backup STRAIGHT after flashing Twrp !!!

Get a appropriate stock backup from the backup collection threads. There is 1 in the general section and there is 1 here in the Q&A section.
Or gain s-off with sunshine and flash updated firmwares and roms

After chatting with a guy from HTC, it's appear that the problem came from North American cell:
according to him, many pack operator are not compatible with the HTC One m8.
The best we can do is waiting for a stable pack... Or installing a different ROM !

That person is wrong.
The problem is that you have Philz Clockworkmod installed. You can't OTA update with custom recovery. You need the proper stock recovery, plus the stock ROM (never rooted, rooted would work and unrooting won't work).

Stock and never rooted? If you made a nandroid before you rooted (or installed a custom ROM), that will work. Otherwise you will need to restore a stock never rooted ROM from the collection.
I assume you rooted (or else installed a custom ROM), otherwise you would not have Philz recovery on the phone?

Those are far too old.
You will find the stock recovery 4.20.661.3 on the following thread (as well as stock nandroid, if you need it):

Yes, I'm rooted. But, from my understanding, I just unlock my bootloader (with a HTC token ID) and flash the CWM recovery... So I have a stock ROM rooted, right ?

You would have to have either flashed SuperSU to be rooted, or if CWM gave you the option to root, you selected it (don't know if CWM does this, custom recovery TWRP does).

A question regarding S-OFF and backing up stock rom

Hey, I've decided to convert my phone to WWE, but I'd like to avoid unlocking bootloader through htcdev and I also want to backup my stock rom, since it's polish tmobile so not commonly available. Shall I just perform the steps from this thread, but only from 6th step, and after S-OFF that temp-rooted the phone just root and install TWRP and then perform the backup?
Any help would be higly appreciated
after having s-off, flahs TWRP and then DON'T ROOT yet, also ensure you keep /system readonly in TWRP..it will ask you when you open TWRP the first time.
Then go to TWRP-backup and backup the system.img and boot.img..then you got a 100% stock rom (besides stock recovery)...you could dd the recovery partition though, before flashing twrp.
now you can root your phone by flashing the latest SuperSU.zip or flash a custom rom (those are prerooted)

People were saying we should do it in marshmallow or else we may not be able to. Is this something new or we could always s off in nougat from the beginning.
Well I am already s off but just want to know. Thanks.

RMX1993EX (EU) create backup of stock rom ?

my X2 is on rom version RMX1993EX_11.A.13
Before letting it OTA upgrade to A15 (and/OR A16), does any one know of a way to download the rom from the device ?
Unlock bootloader, install twrp, make a backup. Stock recovery you can restore this way.
