Some manufacturers will restore stock recovery if you reboot device after you Odin a custom recovery.
Try Odin > (uncheck "reboot") TWRP
then vol down + home + power when screen goes black, keep holding power and home button but slide your finger to volume up. It should boot into TWRP

You should have put SuperSu before into your device storage, allow modification when twrp ask you to and then install SuperSu. Installing SuperSu will take you out of the bootloop. Installing only twrp and allowing modifications always gets you to bootloop until you install SuperSu.

Flashing the TWRP is the same way as you flashed Root.
Is this what you used ?
CF-Auto-Root-t0lteatt-t0lteatt-samsungsghi317.zip
If so ODIN was in there.... You are using the same method to flash the custom recovery. If you didn't use that file above, that may be part of your problem.
The only way to get rid of the Knox messages is to disable it. Flashing the Update SU file will do that.

That is fine.... That file was in the zip file I posted....
You flash the recovery file the same way.. Then you follow the instructions to boot into recovery. After you copy the UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.93.zip to your external sdcard or sdcard.
Then follow the TWRP flashable zip install instructions. Takes less than 15 minutes for the whole process.
After it flashes, go to the supersu app, click it should pop and ask to disable Knox.
Or try and reflash the CF-auto-root file since you have done that already. Pay attention to the status screen makes sure it completes successfully.

Correct. The recovery file is the custom recovery.
There are two main types of custom recoveries.
- CWM, ClockWorkMod, which comes in a touch format or a format you need to use your power button, up/down volume keys to navigate.
- Or TWRP, Team Win Recovery Project To start with use TWRP, I think it is the easier of the two to use.
You have the steps correct.
1. Flash the TWRP custom recovery file in ODIN. (same method you attempted with the CF-AUTO-Root)
2. Reboot into recovery.
Power off phone.
Wait a minute and turn it back on. To boot into TWRP recovery (HOLD VOL UP+HOME+POWER) while it is powering on. Do this quickly after turning phone on, within seconds of powering on.
3. You'll see a screen that says Team Win Recovery Project at the top with about six grey buttons on a black background
Click install.
Upon hitting Install, you’re presented with the files and folders on your phone’s storage, from which you can select the file you want to flash. Find the UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.93.zip.
With the file selected, you can swipe the slider to confirm and start flashing the selected file.
4. Once the flashing process is complete, TWRP gives you some handy options for quick access to certain tasks that many users would need to perform after flashing, eliminating the extra steps required to pick them from their individual sections. These include wiping cache and dalvik cache, and rebooting the system, in addition to a Home shortcut.
Click reboot. Then go to SuperSU app and test it.

Hope your TWRP sticks, I'm new to this and it took me 3 attempts to get it to stick.
To get into recovery
Hold both power button and volume down button pressed
At first sight of LG logo release power button 1 second, Still holding volume down, then repress power button.
You should now get white screen with just 2 options, select "Reset" , Select with Power button, scroll with volume up/down
Again get white screen and confirm reset
If TWRP is on phone it should now appear.
If its not you are in for a Factory Reset
:
Now do a default backup in TWRP (very handy this)
Then move systemless root zip to phone.
In twrp select install find your "systemless root zip " flash , then reboot using "System" DO not accept option to root your phone offered after selecting- reboot>system.
Hope its goes well

I am on the same boat as OP. I unlocked the bootloader after updating to Marshmallow, so I didn't have TWRP from Lollipop. Now, even though it says that the flashing went okay, there is no recovery to boot into. Using "adb reboot recovery" it shows the android logo with the exclamation mark. If I do it using the hardware buttons, I get the LG's menu to wipe everything or exit.

If you have root there are many apps on play store such as : quick boot, simple boot, quick reboot. Install one of these and and they all all have options for reboot, hotboot, boot to recovery, etc. etc.
I have TWRP on my phone and if I use the standard way to enter recovery , power+volume down, then I will get the standard LG recovery screen but when I accept the recovery options there, it takes me to TWRP

@ Dante897 No, if you don't have TWRP then don't. don't say yes to LG Recovery or you'll loose everything . You can also run TWRP on your PC and install systemless root zip that way. That maybe what I did, I can't exactly remember now.
I'm off to bed now, last night was a late night too.
I figured it out. You aren't supposed to flash the recovery., you are supposed to boot to it, flash SuperSU and then use Flashify to install TWRP. I did that, but I flashed the wrong SuperSU (I am an idiot I know) and my phone won't boot now. Currently I am in download mode and downloading the rom with LG Bridge . You can follow the guide here if you want http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/unlock-bootloader-install-twrp-root-t3128241 but whatever you do DO NOT flash SuperSU 2.46, grab the newest from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64161125&postcount=3
I cannot say that it will work, all I can tell you is that 2.46 certainly doesn't work.
EDIT: Alright, I let LG Bridge install the update, no wipe happened. I did the process again, this time I flashed SuperSU v2.62-3 and everything went well and my phone is now rooted.

I also had an issue with TWRP sticking. I followed someone else's tip and you have to have the twrp IMG saved on your computer and also on the phone before flashing recovery with fastboot.

[GUIDE] How To Update To Nougat, Install TWRP and Root

Nougat TAR File Now Available!
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767156558
Things You Need To Know First
There are two variations on the 3-button method (also known as the "three-finger salute."
Volume Down + Home Button + Power puts you into Download mode.
Volume Up + Home Button + Power puts you into Recovery mode.
You will need Odin, which is here. With your phone in Download mode, Odin allows you flash firmware files (also called TAR files) and Recovery images. Odin is available from here: http://www.samsungodindownload.com/ Any version that starts with 3.10 (like 3.10.6) is fine. No need to update. Put the Odin files where you can find them
Getting Started
If you are on stock and have not rooted or changed the Recovery on your phone, go to Settings, scroll to the bottom, System Updates, Download manually. That should get you to Nougat. We'll come bac to this in a bit.
If you are Rooted and have TWRP installed, you have the option of a Clean Install. Which I recommend as this is a major update. This will wipe your settings and apps, you will need to begin all over, but it is worth the inconvenience. You can use Titanium Backup (TiBu for short) to back up apps and data, but you run the risk of things not working right. Your choice.
1) Download the Nougat TAR file and put that in your Odin directory.
2) To do a clean install, go to TWRP. Wipe, Advanced Wipe, then select Dalvik, System, Data and Internal Storage. WARNING! This is going to wipe everything, so back up your pictures, chat logs, etc. FIRST! Don't leave TWRP after this.
3) Still in TWRP, go to the Reboot menu. Select Download. Your phone should now be in Download mode.
4) Connect your cable, open Odin and select AP and point it to the QC7 file. Click start and wait awhile. This is rewriting your Recovery and operating system. It is going to take some time. Your phone should reboot.
5) Once you are done, you should be on Nougat. You will need to log in, like you were setting up a new phone.
6) Now to install TWRP and Root. Power your phone down. Once it is shut down, use Volume Down + Home Button + Power to get back into Download mode. Grab the TWRP TAR file from here: https://dl.twrp.me/zerofltespr/ Put that in your Odin directory as well, but wait before flashing. Open Odin, go to Options and de-select Auto Reboot. We don't want the phone to reboot until we root it first. Otherwise it will overwrite the TWRP file and return to stock recovery. Now we can flash the TWRP TAR.
7) Your phone will still be in Download mode. Hold the Volume Down + Home Button + Power buttons until the phone shuts down. It takes some seconds, don't panic.
8) After shutdown, hold the Volume Up + Home Button + Power to get into TWRP. Grab the root file from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/general/root-s6-nougat-supersu-t3570740 (don't forget to thank @dr.ketan for his work) and copy that to your phone. Flash in TWRP and reboot.
9) You now have a nice, clean, Nougat install with Root and TWRP.
Let me know your comments and if there are any steps that I need to modify.

Probly not man, and tbh I don't see why you would wanna.
Thanks, rooted no problem. I like the new ui so far and battery seems better already, as well as signal. Anyone figure out hotspot? I tried the flashable fix and idone but figured neither would work this time. Whats odd is the hotspot and tethering app appears to be for verizon? I froze it and it doesnt affect hotpot under settings.

You'd be able too. You'd just have to flash a tar file from 6.0.1 through odin.
Would it be possible to use this method without wiping the device, and not brick the phone?
Regards

Yes. I did this and I'm not having any issues or battery drain problems. You'll have the best experience if you do wipe, though. I'd do a backup either way just in case.
Out On Travel
Glad that this is working out for everyone. I'll be gone most of next week on a work trip. I'll check in on my return.
Have fun with Nougat!
do i flah the same file (as in marshmellow) to regain xposed?

Check on the Xposed thread, this is only for TWRP and Root. (I don't use Xposed, I'd be as likely to tell you the wrong thing as I would be to help.)
As of February, I heard that it wasn't ready. See http://www.androidpolice.com/2017/0...r-says-be-patient-a-nougat-version-is-coming/
But again, I just don't know for sure.
Yeah, there is still no xposed for nougat now. What a pity.

How in the world do you enjoy YouTube?!

I got the OTA update today, but the build number I received is G920PVPU4DQC7, not the QB1 listed above. It is definitely Nougat 7.0.
Is the original post a copy/paste from an earlier version?

QB1 is the latest TAR file available. To get to Nougat you need to take the OTA. Which is why the instructions say "Connect to your network and follow the instructions above about System Updates. Once you are done, you should be on Nougat."

There is hacked APK available that removes ads for those who don't have Xposed. Works just fine for me.
Does it play in the background as well?

phone doesn't boot into magisk rooted mode, instead boots into twrp

I've recently rooted my S10+ using magisk and twrp and everything went fine.
Except, when i try the vol up + bixby + power combination to boot into magisk rooted mode; the phone keeps booting into twrp instead.
I'm able to boot into the phone normally otherwise but just not magisk rooted mode.
can someone please help me out with what i'm doing wrong? is the key combination wrong? any help would be much appreciated!
thanks

You need to patch recovery with magisk or use already patched recovery. Just flash patched recovery and everything will be fine. You can flash patched recovery.img within twrp too. In twrp select install then select install image select patched recovery.img then recovery recovery from next menu and flash it. Reboot it will boot. And remember you have to select img file not tar if its tar then extract recovery.img from tar.

it worked using @comsit's suggestion! basically you need to download magisk manager app installed on your phone and also "twrp-3.xxx-0-beyond2lte.img" file copied to your device.
1. Go to your phone
2. Open Magisk Manager
3. Click on "Install" next to "Magisk"
4. Select "Recovery Mode" Option as step 1
5. Select "Patch to file" option as step 2
6. Reboot into TWRP recovery and do the steps he's posted above!
