Has anyone returned their phone for a screen replacement? - Wileyfox Swift

Mine broke yesterday after dropping it. I have the 1 year screen replacement cover for £10. I have unlocked the bootloader and installed twrp. Do you think I can just send it back as it is for them to replace it or should I lock the bootloader and remove twrp?

Flash the QFil stock and then replace it. Because it will still be detectable.
I cracked my screen when I went to a National Park on this side of the world. Luckily one of my friends was able to get a hand on the Swift and Storm screens and accessories. So not only do I have the Screen Fix but now I got both Red and Black Swift cases.

Thanks for the reply.
Just in case anyone else is reading this and has the same question. I restored my phone to a backup that I made the day I received the phone, replaced TWRP with Cyanogen recovery and then locked the boot loader.
The returns process was very quick, I sent it on Thursday and received the repaired phone on Wednesday. It has been restored to factory settings.

Hey have you a contact for me in SA pls?
I got a little crack on my screen and the touch on that section is gone (plus its stuck in bootloop now and can't get it into recovery). And so far I am not finding any support or people to fix or even just get the parts.

My Storm screen is also broken, but I can't return it for a replacement. Does anyone have an idea where I can get a replacement LCD + Digitizer that I can fit myself?
Thanks

[Q] Cracked G2 screen?

I craked my G2's screen (Fell asleep on the couch with it in my pocket). It turns on and only displays 2 green lines. The cracks are on the bottom left side of the screen. I found a site with the screen for $59.99 and a digitizer for $46.19. I talked with TMO and they said it was not covered under warranty, no insurance. They gave me a decent price on a MT4G (13yr customer).
I would like to get the G2 fixed/sold. I am not sure if there is more damage since it does not boot, etc. Should I order the parts and try to fix it myself, or is there somewhere else to send it to for repair?
Thanks,
Eric
How much do you want for it as is ?

I would see if there is more wrong before buying parts to fix it.
Try to connect it to adb and see if it's recognized. That way you don't have to see anything on the screen
your PC will tell if it's communicating.
Sometimes you can shine a flash light up to a broken screen and see the home screen.
In those cases I would try to fix it myself. If not you may need to send it to HTC.

[Q] Screen problems after fixing phone

Good day dear xda-developers community,
I have a very strange problem, searching the net did not bring any results so I thought I'd ask the guys here, perhaps somebody has had a similar problem as well.
A couple of months ago my video card broke, I could start up my phone but had a lot of artefacts so I brought it to the store I bought it at and they sent it out for repairs under warranty conditions. I got the phone back and I had no artefacts anymore so I was more than happy.
A couple of days after that I noticed a scratch on the screen, a small one but still quiet noticeable. The phone was never dropped and always carried in the pocket, so I thought to my self "ohh well, I guess this could happen".
Now though, a couple of weeks using the phone I have a strange feeling that the screen that was put on my phone after replacement isn't Gorilla Glass at all, it feels weird when you touch it, not as smooth and there is A LOT of grease that stays on the phone, never really noticed any in a whole year using the phone before, plus the proximity sensor doesn't always work, when I bring the phone to my ear I have to do it a couple of times before it goes out.
Now here's what I am wondering, is there any way to check whether the screen is Gorilla Glass or not, and that the company hasn't just put some cheap replacement glass on my phone to save up money?
Anybody got any idea what's up?
well the easiest thing to do it putting two HOX side by side and compare the two screens i guess
Go back to the shop and demand a detailed repair overview. Your entitled to one since its your phone !
Or let them take it in for another repair/research. Just dont take no for an answer.

I guess we were both duped and had some clone screen put into our phone instead of the original HOX screen, which really sucks, cause I don't even know how to prove that, also I noticed that I have 2 yellow spots on the left-top side of the screen, they are very well visible on the white background and they get even Yellower as the phone gets hotter.

Wauw thats what I had when I just got mine brand new..its a known issue with the One X
It has to do something with the glue..better get it replaced and ask for the old screen so you can check if its a clone.
Hope it will work out well for you bro, I took my loss as they will not give me a refund..

They won't give you a refund, but did you try getting it fixed? is it covered by the warranty? The problem is that I bought it in the netherlands and I was just there a couple of weeks ago, had the phone done and went back to Belarus, where we don't the HTC service centres. I will have to wait till I go to the netherlands again to give the phone back into repairs.

[Q] Did I get a defective replacement screen? T217S

My wife got a new phone 3 weeks ago (Samsung S5) and in the process was given a "free" Samsung Tab3. Last week the tablet fell of a table and the screen cracked so I decided to play Mr.Wizard and replace the screen. Got the replacement screen, saw the video online and all went pretty smooth. Turn the tablet on and all is still well. Then am trying to set up her e-mail and notice that the 1 on the keyboard does not work. I downloaded an app called Simple Touch Screen Tester and come to find out that the part of the screen where the 1 would be (in portrait mode) is not responding to any touches. If I press down hard on the screen some areas do respond but not all.
Is it possible I got a defective screen? Would spending another $ 20 be worth it?
Or should I return the tablet to Sprint (I assume it is still under the 30 day warranty) and not mention the fact the screen cracked and I replaced it? Can Sprint tell I replaced the screen?
Thanks for any help.

Since you already replaced the dig, you know what's involved. If you're good at what you do, then Sprint can't tell. I've had a Samsung tab with a dead band within which no touch would register. Sent it to Samsung and all they did was update the firmware. But it can be hardware-related. If you bought a replacement lined with tape, it's possible the back of the digitizer didn't stick evenly to the frame 'cause you did not clean all the glue residue before. That certainly can cause problems. Then you may want to check the connection to the motherboard. It should click when you snap it on correctly. The way Samsung digitizer are built, it doesn't feel like yours is defective. I've had one that literally was smashed to pieces yet persisted.

Rma Service request advice

So I just dropped my one plus 3 one too many times and in the worst way of course but I had a 1 year warranty that's still valid. But I've heard sometimes they are finicky if the device is rooted or bootloader unlocked. Should I flash it back to stock and relock the bootloader before the RMA?

Highly doubt a broken screen has to do with a unlocked bootloader, but better safe then sorry. Go full stock then send it back. Make sure you get a case next time!

That's what I was thinking that too so I have the files already downloaded. Was probably going to factory reset anyways because I'm finicky about them getting into my stuff. I know they won't but I'm paranoid.
Edit: that's the kicker. I had a case and tempered glass protector. Took the case of dbecause its hot where I live and it was overheating. And the tempered glass protector shattered a few days ago and I get the new one tomorrow

Failed to replace LCD Screen.. Help

Hello!
I bought a lcd screen (mine is with broken glass but working) for about 120usd from aliexpress and tried to replace by myself. I followed a tutorial step by step, removed Sim slot, opened the back, remove the screen and plugged the new one. I turned my phone on, everything was working (touch, image, fingerprint), but when I put the Sim slot back again, the screen turned to this (see attachment), and even after removing the Sim slot, the screen stays the same way. The old one is still working OK.
I don't know nothing about Eletronics, maybe could be these missing contacts (sponge metal) on the lcd from aliexpress? (the right one). Does it have solution?
THANKS!
:/
our phone has a super amoled screen...that surely is a downgrade, in screen quality and battery life wise. ;S
Either you got scammed, or some contacts aren't connected right. Try again
Are you saying that this screen isnt amoled? It's lcd? Thanks!
The exact same thing happened to me, including the color noise. I bought the screen from AliExpress. After asking someone with a bit more expertise than me, a was told that the displays actually are AMOLED, but they are inherently flawed cheap knockoffs using refurbished components and terrible driver chips, which only support 2 brightness values. My screen stopped working completely shortly after installation and didn't fit properly in the phone. A opted for a return and refund, got the $120 refunded and the postage fees only cost me about $15. I suggest you do the same. I got another second-hand P2 for $150 dollars with a screen intact and switched the screen from it.
Phantoml337 Thank you for the answer! Do you know if there is anything i can do to repair this screen or it wont work anymore? Thanks!

as long as you get an original display replacement or a good alternative, you can repair it as you normally would. Ask some experts, they know their stuff. Otherwise, buy a second hand p2, they often work just fine, flash some newer firmware on it, to make it clean and use it as normal, i guess.
But this fake screen, can I repair it?
