Hello everyone I have a problem four days, I can not send and receive text messages, he says "can not send." All from when I installed a custom ROM. Thinking it was a problem with the configuration of different countries of the ROM I tried reinstalling the stock, but the problem persists. The number of the Message Centre is correct. I own a T2 Ultra D5303. I also tried it with other sim of different operators but the error persists.
I write from Italy and use google translator sorry for bad english but I write to you because I do not find support in my language
I had similar problem.. once... with stock rom.
what i did is :-
if you have hangout installed
set it as default sms app
then try sending sms through hangout
install latest ver. of hangout from this link
if msg is sent/worked then try this :
click menu
click settings
click apps
click all (swipe to right until you see all)
search for messaging & click it
click force stop
click clear data
click clear cache
click clear default
Restart phone
now open messaging app
now try sending message
reply here what happened
I tried to clear the cache and the data but the problem persisted.
Now I had to change sim and phone operator and I had to reinstall the stock rom to inviase text messages, trying to re-install the custom rom the problem returns.
I state that the installation of custom ROMs is done properly, also tried starting from stock rom clean, but nothing to do. The message center number is always correct but it appears yellow trinagolo with the error can not send, receive, not even text messages. I tried with 2 different custom rom, but in both there is the problem
You can make a call? If you put your SIM in another phone can you send SMS?

ok so here goes
i cant send a sms. i go to add recipient and it is greyed out.
i also get a message that says
"cannot be signed or encripted"
if i go to read a message, can see there is one there but when i open it, it is blank and i cant reply or foreward, i donno
i tried reflashing it, i have kavana mod, but no go

It's not a common problem, usually if there's a messaging problem its with mms, not sms. Have you tried a hard reset?
hard reset of course solved the problem
when i want to send new text sms, i click on the new sms icon ,a blank screen appears. i cannot type anything on that screen. can anyone please help me. thanks
but i can receive sms and reply it.

What OS-ROM version are you running?
That is, have you flashed to a custom/cooked ROM?
I'm asking because various message-related issues are reported with some roms that are based on Manila 2.5 (beta) or WM6.5.1 (beta). The fix to these problems are sometimes "try this different messaging version" or "disable HTC messaging" or "flash to a less-beta ROM". If so, check the thread where you got the ROM.
But, if you're running the stock ROM that came with your phone...has it been like this since you got it? If not, did you add something or change something before this behavior started?

my rom is 1.19.401.0WWE,WM6.5.1, I installed chinese font before it started.but i can reply and revceive the SMS
Have you tried a hard reset? It worked for me on my kaiser when it would not let me send MMS over 300k. If you do a hard reset make sure you back up your phone just in case but do not restore your backup. Reinstall programs 1 at a time and test after every install to see what is screwing you up.
i have tried hard reset, the problem is when i type menu and select sms, there is no TO option, I cannot type everything,annoying.

My messaging app is not working. Gives error unfortunately messaging has stopped. I have installed other messaging app(chomp sms) as well but no resolution. I am on F180L, converted to e975 eu, rooted and having cwm installed, baseband is that of F180L. I searched alot. There was something mentioned about telephony.db in some threads but my /data folder is empty.
Please help
nevermind got it to work. I was using es file explorer although it shows root folders but doesn't show whats inside till you select root explorer from options..deleted telephony.db/mmsms.db and the the messaging is working now.
I am able to send sms only. Unable to receive ....

I have the same problem. Did you factory reset through the settings menu or through recovery? When you did, did it erase all your apps, folders, pictures and so on? Thanks
Unable To Receive Sms
Having same problem with my E 975 running HK Stock rom. I am able to send sms but unable to receive. It almost always happens when my phone turns off after battery dies out. When i turn my phone back on, sms reception is not working. Often takes me many restarts until reception starts again. Any solution please ?

Hi i have successfully installed the backup but i cannot receive sms from sim slot 1, i can send sms though, i have checked the sms settings and the service center option in sms setting is not accessible can you help me out ?
The HTC 816v where I installed the backup was a friends phone and unfortunately I do not have it now but sending and receiving SMS functioned without problem; currently it is not usually set the SMS server but does so automatically when the system sees the sim; however, I remember a similar problem that was caused by apk Hangouts.
To solve this, this was the case:
1. Hangout updated ...> receive SMS not working.
2. Disable Hangouts and try ..> Ok receiving SMS
3. Enable Hangouts and uninstall updates ..> SMS works.
4. Update Hangouts ..> Ok receiving SMS.
You can try it because you will not break anything but I do not know if that is the problem.

Well I do not know what can be the reason you do not receive sms, maybe you could talk to your carrier to see if there's something you can configure.

Just upgraded to ZUI 3.5.337 ST from Stock 2.5 Indian.
Process followed:
1. Flashed 3.5.243Dev from Qfil
2. Upgraded to 3.5.261 ST via stock recovery.
3. Then 3 updates via System Update app.
Everything is working fine. Just one problem
I am not able to send messages or receive messages in both sims.
When I send a message from Sim1/Sim2, neither it shows up on the screen nor it reaches the person.
Also I am not even able to Receive messages on both sims.
Please help.
I can't afford to format cellphone for the next 1 week due to lot of data in phone and at place where I cant backup.
Any other option to reset particular app/service to get it worked ??
I've tried installing other Messaging app and deleting data for inbuilt Messaging app. Same results.

Have you checked the permission settings for SMS application?
Also check settings in security app of ZUI if that is blocking SMS app some how.
Just two guess from my end.

All permissions : Allowed.
Stock message app is not shown in Security App.
Other installed messaging app is there but no effect.
When i type the message... It activates the Send button...
When i click the send button... The message on the text box disappears and nothing is shown in the chat history. And even the message is not received by the receiver.
