HTC 10 Microphone Issue - HTC 10 Questions & Answers

Is anyone else having a issue with people being able to hear you while you have the phone to your ear? When i have my phone to my ear and i talk no one can hear me but they can hear me when its on speakerphone. Also they can hear me when i have headsets or Bluetooth plugged in. Not sure if its broken or what its causing it to act this way.

I have a problem with my microphone as well. It sounds really quiet and has a lot of background noise. PM me a sample of it recorded with the sound recorder app and I'll send you a sample.
I'm going to RMA mine and hopefully get one without the problem (and the one dead ****ing pixel I have, ugh)

[Q] HD7 speaker hiss, could you check for me?

Hi there. Just noticed with my HD7 that after its made a noise, say for example the keyboard click which i love by the way, my rear speaker has a hiss for about a second afterwards. Could someone else with a HD7 please hold their phone with their rear speaker to their ear and then get their phone to make a noise so that I can find out if it's my phone or a feature of the HD7?
To be honest the reason I'm interested in this is the speaker hiss that I'm hearing here I think might be related to the bluetooth audio quality issues I have, long shot I know.
Thanks
Confirmed, I hear the hiss too. I think it's the audio file for the click sound. After the click sound is made, the file continues playing for a few seconds.
Cheers for that.. Seems to happen when you pause music or anything else really. Ah well, first gen poor quality hardware I guess.. I knew I was gonna take the hit.
I thought this was standard on everything, it definitely happened on my last 2 android devices.

Yeah, it's not a big deal at all.
Yeah for sure not a big deal, would never notice it if I hadnt randomly had it up to my ear.. Like I say just grasping for reasons why the bluetooth audio might be a bit ropey. The same hiss was heard over a friends bluetooth headset, sorry cant remember the make (my parrot doesnt have the hiss but does have a crackle, go figure).
My Jabra Halo, and my car via a FIPO device both have the his over bluetooth, occasionaly stuttery audio, never crackles though

Replace the Speaker?

I carried my HTC Desire in my pocket on a walk, when I looked at it at the end there was some moisture under the screen. I left it in rice over night and it switched on fine the next day.
Now, I can't hear people speak when they call, Music plays very very tinny and I think the speaker might need replacing? When I plug headphones in, I can hear music and voices fine.
How hard is it to replace the speaker and will this likely solve my problem? Is this something I can do myself with the £5 parts and tools from ebay? I have had the phone just under 18 months in the UK and wondered if anyone knew whether this was covered under HTC warranty?
Thanks
Tom
Update: Sound does appear to be playing through the speaker when watching videos/in apps, just I can't hear voices from a phone call unless I plug headphones in. I can't work out if the speaker sounds quite as loud as it used to, but it doesn't sound too bad (it was never great in the first place!) So does anyone know why I can't hear the voices in the call?
Thanks,
Tom

HTC One X's Mic only properly working on loudspeaker + more

It's not a very clear sounding mic when it is not on loudspeaker. Then when I put it on loudspeaker, the other person can hear me very easily.
Also, the inphone speaker is not too loud.
These problems both occur for a few hours in the day and not at other times. Please let me know if there is any possible fix for this.
Also, I have not got any other firmware on it - just the original one. Any fixes??

How to replace ear speaker/mic?

Hi
I have problems with my HTC One X during phone calls.
On the other side of the call they say it sounds like I'm in "speaker mode" but am not.
On my side of the call the sound is strange. Sometimes I can not hear good. Dark and low. And sometimes its pitchy. Sorry for my bad English.
I Think my problems started when I dropped the pone.
Is the ear speaker and the mic bad or just the ear speaker?
Do you know where to find a guide on how to replace the ear speaker and/or the mic part as well?
Thanks.
I have the same problem. (see my thread) .
Did you find an answer yet?

Problem when inserting external earphones and microphone

Hi guys,
I've got this phone quite recently, and got this problem right away.
When I plug in my earphones with microphone included I'd say that 80% of the time, people can't hear my voice. They do hear a high-pitch sound, going over my voice. This happens on call, while recording audio, on what's app...
So my guess is that's a jack-connection issue. I don't have another pair of earphones or external mic to try with at that time. But I was wondering if this was a common trouble? Should I look into getting other earbuds or look into fixing the phone?
Thank you,
Probably just your headset..
Is it the one included with the phone?

I did not receive a headset with the phone no. This is one I bought previously, Symphonized NRG 3.0.
Not sure if it would help but try cleaning the earphone jack with a toothpick. Dust and lint usually get stuck inside the jack.
