Hi everyone!
Me and my family are taking a trip to the UK soon and my sister as a HTC One M9 on Verizon and I was wondering if anyone has tried to use this model on a network in the UK (such as three or O2). The rest of the family, myself included, have iPhones so it isn't a problem for us. I also carry a nexus 5x that I could let her use but would prefer not too.
Any thoughts?
So you've got a Verizon-branded HTC M9? On the page for the Verizon HTC M9, it lists the following bands:
Network
--- LTE Band 13/4 (700/1700MHz), CDMA/1xEVDO Rev. A (800/1900 MHz)
Global Network
--- EDGE/GSM (850/900/1800/1900)
--- HSPA/UMTS(850/900/1900/2100)
Compare those bands against the list of European carriers & UTMS bands & LTE bands to see which ones you can use effectively there.
Yes it will work fine roaming with your own sim provided you have pre-arranged international roaming with your carrier, but a local sim card will not work.

To be more specific, a local SIM card will work (all global Verizon devices are SIM-unlocked) but your connectivity will be limited by which network bands the Verizon M9 supports.

hi everybody .. i just got HTC Desire for my wife and we have this phone for 2 days now .The phone don't read 3G and when i checked the network info the phone read EDGE and when i checked my nexus at same time i seen the network UMTS . so what i can do make this desire read 3G
Check your carrier's APN setting.

Sorry but there is NO version of HTC Desire that is compatible with T-Mobile USA 3G network. No, T-Mobile in Europe does not use the same 3G bands for 3G as T-Mobile USA, so even if the phone was sold with a T-Mobile (Europe) logo on it it won't have 3G in the US.
Currently there are TWO hardware versions of the HTC Desire. The first one, A8181, is the one that is sold in Europe and Asia, and this one does not have 3G in the US. The second one, A8183, is sold in Australia by the carrier Telstra. This version is compatible with AT&T's 3G network in most part of the US, but it is not compatible with T-Mobile USA's 3G network.

Yeah .. i am T-Mobile US
and my phone is the first one A8181 i bought it from UK . Anyways this mean NO DESIRE work 3G in USA . Thats sucks

There is, as I said above, the A8183. It works only with AT&T's 3G though.
i have the A8183 And works fine on at&t 3g i will sell if you are interested or anyone for that matter..

You will find that very, very few "worldwide" GSM phones will work with T-Mobile US's 3G due to the split 1700/2100 AWS band that TMo US uses.
Ironically though, you can take a TMo US phone out of the US and it will happily talk 3G to most other non-US GSM networks.

Most Europe/Asian carriers only use 2100 band for 3G, so as long as your phone supports that band (most GSM phones do) you can get 3G on their network.
T-Mobile USA on the other hand, requires BOTH 1700 & 2100 bands support in order for your phone to get 3G on their network. For a long time, T-Mobile USA was the ONLY carrier in the world that use 1700 band for 3G, and therefore if a phone was not carried by T-Mobile USA it didn't have 1700 3G band support (it doesn't need to because no other carrier in the world used it). Well, lately a new Canadian wireless carrier, Wind, also employs the 1700 & 2100 bands for their 3G network... so the chance of getting more phones to support these 3G bands has slightly increased. Slightly, because Wind is a new and small carrier...
I recently won a m8 in a contest. And through lots of searching I'm stuck, I live in the UK and my phone is from the US. I want to know if my phone has the right hardware to get lte on bands 3 and 7 as I'm on ee. But I cannot find out anywhere what hardware is inside the device, any suggestions? Thanks.
Check the preferred network (in settings) if you can enable lte connectivity.

Any carrier branding (Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile) on the outside of the phone or on the OS (splash screen, etc.)? Mosts US M8s are branded, aside from Dev Edition, unlocked, or GPE.
As long as its a GSM M8 (Verizon and Sprint are CDMA/GSM) in theory you should be able to flash a different radio to get the proper band compatibility, even if your model doesn't officially support the needed LTE band (unlocking of bootloader and S-off required).

I bought a Spring LG G2 and planning to use my AT&T SIM Card on it. I have gone through lot of threads in this forum (Great info and detailed explanation) and it looks like i can SIM Unlock this Phone and make the AT&T / T-Mobile SIM working with out any Issues.
How ever as the hardware bands are not there it's not possible to get LTE on this Phone with GSM Carriers. (Please correct me if i am wrong). If that's the case why SIM Unlock this phone and use a GSM SIM Card instaed of getting AT&T or T-Mobile version of the same Phone ? (It it because of the price difference ? Sorry for asking this as i am not sure what i am missing here).
Does Spring version of G2 has additional benefits that are not available in GSM version of G2.

The sprint verzion supports these bands "GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz" and other umts and lte bands
The unlocked supports these bands "GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz" and other cdma lte umts bands
The difference is you get more bands on the unlocked version. The sprint version is the gsm model and it does support lte. Look up the technical specs on the lg site. look on xda more and see how people fair with lte. if you want to be safe just get an unlocked phone and scrap your sprint model.

I don't think the link you posted is specific to the Asia M8 (does not list the proper LTE bands for the Asia version - and band support varied by version). It lists the LTE bands for the EMEA version. I think the following has the proper bands for the Asia version: http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_one_(m8)-6074.php
In either case, the bands listed (either on your link, or the one I posted) do not include any of the LTE bands used by AT&T. AT&T uses LTE bands 2(1900), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), and 17(700)
Support of all the bands (2, 4, 5 and 17) is needed to ensure LTE service in all regions serviced by AT&T (what band they use, varied by locality). So just missing one of the bands can be a problem. And your phone doesn't support any of the bands used by AT&T!
It very unusual for phone versions intended for other (foreign) regions to support all the AT&T bands. So when purchasing a new phone, its best to look at models intended for use on AT&T.
Note, that with s-off ($25 by sunshine is the only way) you can flash the AT&T baseband radio, which in theory changes the band support. However, its still not guaranteed that you will still get LTE on AT&T's network with an M8 "converted" in such a way. We've seen reports of folks getting s-off, and flashing the "proper" radio, only to fail getting LTE on their local carrier. I haven't seen a satisfactory explanation of this, or a fix, unfortunately.
So its an endeavor which costs money, and may ultimately not work. So if you have the option to do so, I would recommend to return the phone, and get another model that supports AT&T's bands out of the box (for the M8, that would be an AT&T branded version, or US Developer's Edition).
Could someone who has this exact model please confirm whether or not the FDD LTE band configuration is as follows?
Apologies for inconveniencing members with such elementary questions, but I have very impaired vision and there are few MASSIVE screen phones that work in the USA within my price range. I contacted Motorola and posted in their forum to be sure of this purchase, but to no avail.
Meanwhile every seller in the USA who claims to carry the XT-2087-1 Odessa variant is posting the FDD-LTE Configuration for XT-2087-2 (which lacks B12, B17 and B66) in their specification.
The config I think it is supposed to have is:
FDD-LTE Bands: B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B7, B8, B12, B17, B28 and B66
If that is correct, why are Amazon sellers are stating that this phone cannot use Volte? I do understand that getting Volte to work on an international model might require using short codes and/or activating the Sim on a different phone before using it with the G9 Plus, or maybe rooting and a custom rom, but that's okay. Just want to make sure it's not hardware limited).
Is anyone here using this phone with ATT or T-Mobile or an ATT/TMO MVNO?

No, I'm not from the US
Okay: I finally got a callback from Motorola international (who were no help at all as they referred me to the New Zealand website which is a different model).
However, the 4G LTE configuration for this exact model is listed on the Brazil website: https://www.motorola.com.br/smartphone-moto-g9-plus/p
It is as follows:
Bandas
2G - GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
3G - WCDMA 850/900/1700/1900/2100 MHz
4G - LTE B1/B2/B3/B4/B5/B7/B8

This means the only major band this phone is lacking for TMO is band 71. Yes, it is increasingly important for TMO, but even without band 71, this is one of the few Motorola Dual Sim phones to include FDD LTE 12/17 & 66.
It should be fully compatible with AT&T (except that Cricket won't permit it to use Volte on the Cricket network ... AT&T MVNOs apart from Cricket seem to be fine).
I am probably going to take a chance and order this on Amazon. I will report back on how well it works with my two ATT MVNOs --- still looking for a cheap prepaid TMO MVNO sim for testing purposes, if anybody has suggestions.

friend. save your files and try to reset it with your carrier's chip and put it later when you go into airplane mode there within 2 minutes you can take it out of airplane mode that might solve your case. Hope this helps . here always help me doing this
