(Q)MM Update for G Pad8.3 - G Pad 8.3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I wanted to know that is there official mm for g pad8.3?

No, not for the VK810, V500 or V510.
Please in the future post questions in the Q&A section. I'll ask a moderator to move this thread.

The answer is no. :crying:
On the other hand, the unofficial CM13 is fantastic on the v500. If your tablet is no longer in warranty, I'd take the plunge and install that. I've been running it for 2 months now and am not looking back. Its so good that I will be putting it on the Mrs's gpad also. Doze on a tablet rules.

So can anyone port it from vk810/815?

I guess the hardware is same for v500 and vk810? Is it possible to flash unofficial CM13 on vk810? I don't care about the 4g.

There was a lot of work done early this year to try to port the V510 ROM to the V500. Ended up not useable because WiFi was non functional.
Yes, your best bet is CM11. Stable and functional.
What about gpad 7 v400 into v410??

Hello, I was looking through the Android Development section and sadly both the available ROM's were only for the 7 inch version of this tablet, I was wondering if you have planned any development for the 10.1 inch version, I would love to see a CM or custom ROM of Lollipop for this tablet.

Hmm, tried this one on LG GPad 8.3 KK 4.4.2, didn't work sadly, it may be that I only have a VM of Windows and there's an issue with mapping COMx to ttyx in VirtualBox that I'm not at all sure how to overcome. Adb finds the device, so it's at least communicating, but when it's time to run the exploit it just stops on the download screen. If anyone knows a good way to figure out which port is "diag" on a linux box (it's easy to *map* it, just difficult to know *what* to map) please do share. I've been searching high and low for a few days, and have learned a lot, just not what I need lol. I'd rather not do a hard install of Windows if I can avoid it, but I'm fresh out of ideas. I was thinking it might be that the software updated to VK70011A from VK700, but judging from the post above this one, that's unlikely(hence the edit). Not giving up just yet, but *any* input would be greatly appreciated.

...ammend that, trashed my partition table trying to move LVs around to do a Windows install, so backed up, and just scrapped the whole thing and started over with a dual boot from scratch. NOW it's rooted right and proper, yay, I can actually use the sd card I dropped $100 on, thanks for the link, worked like a dream.
I rooted with 5.0.2 and DP-Tools. My virus scanner alarmed me, but I guess/hope it is not a real virus.
I do not have LTE, but the DP-Tools is for LG-Devices in general.
Only missing thing is xposed framwork (doesn't run in lollipop)...i would love to remove softkeys in chrome while browsing.
I have yet to get this to work on my VZW 10.1. It hangs during the download screen portion. Any thoughts would be helpful.
TIA.

The single-click root worked on my US Cellular UK410. Thanks!
Interesting. I have a 4G VK700 I just got and Kingroot works fine. There is no reason to swith superuser apps because kingroot provides plenty of features and there's nothing I have been unable to do. I put in T-Mobile APN settings and my 4g signal was on and conected after reboot. I will post my sofware version and kingroot version. I don't know why you would install an update unless it is needed to run something you have been unable to run.
Just FYI most updates these days simply lock you out from or make root more difficult to get. and they often cause hardware issues regardless of wether it is rooted or not.

Q&A for The LG gPad 7 V400 Lollipop 5.0.2 is out!! !!
Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer.
Before posting, please use the forum search and read through the discussion thread for The LG gPad 7 V400 Lollipop 5.0.2 is out!! !!. Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!
I received the notification but I WILL NOT update yet.
First I must know:
1- Towelroot works?
2- G Flex Mod works to add more apps in Multi Window?
And about free RAM?
On Kitkat I have around 300MB of free RAM. Some person I asked that already updated says that now it has around 400MB of free RAM.

Around the same amount.
And pretty sure that I don't know how to use this forum system... wtf I'm doing?
Towel root no longer works but supposedly there is a new script that does work. I am planning to look at it this weekend.

After the news about the unlockable bootloader I expected the device to get cyanogenmod really quickly after release. Could anyone enlighten me what might be the problem that no dev has yet found the time to port it to this device?
Is blobs and everything available? Google has a guide on building so for those who make threads like this go build yourself?
okay then we wait and see, I still have not rooted. I wait until it gets really stable

The bootloader is only unlockable to a very few select H815 variant users. Only a specific region or two can unlock their bootloaders, as such, not many devs have been able to work on any ROM's.

Would you please clarify ... I have an H815, bootloader unlocked and rooted. Are you saying that there is a CM for the LG G4 to replace the stock G4 ROM, L5.1 ? Cyanogen don't list H815, nor have I seen any other deodexed lean ROM elsewhere. Thanks in advance.
There is no cm yet. For this, you need devs and root and an unlocked bootloader helps. As all American variants are not unlockable and not rootable in a safe manner, devs would need to get a European h815. The phone has been out for three weeks now, so there was no time for anything like customizing stock or even a whole custom rom. This will take some time and it is not guaranteed to happen at all.

I unlocked my H815 back in May. Quite simple. Key points: a visit to LG support site. There you can make your way to the Developer section and register to receive the bootloader unlock code. LG will try three times to dissuade you but will in the end email you the code. It remains valid for a couple of days and once done the process is "irreversible". Your G4 will always show bootloader ulocked (on the boot screen). In my view that's a good thing and shows that the owner cares. LG say they have listened to customers (a dig at Sammy and i-Sheep) and have started to roll out the unlock code globally. Yours may be listed already, if not it soon will be. It's been a month now so register / monitor the site.
I'll probably still waiting for a dev to produce a lean deodexed ROM for quite a while yet!

Okay, so this means LG will support unlocking also for "non-EU" devices soon?
The next problem is: driver sources.
Without them cyanogenmod will become a problem?:crying:

No I was completely calm and thought maybe they really don't know.^^ Because when someone seems to wait days and weeks on this he obviously has time and it would be quicker to learn to do it himself.

CM needs to be built from source and no dev that can build one has the H815. Google build cm from source and maybe you or anybody that owns the H815 with patience can build one. Start a new dev thread for help to get one built once you get started.

Thanks for confirming that there is no CM for the G4. LG are committed to providing unlock codes. The global rollout has started. G4 is a top device and deserves a CM. Can't wait. Four weeks since I got one.
