UNOFFCIAL F2FS-ready TWRP for LG G4 (H815/H811)
1. What is F2FS?
F2FS (Flash-Friendly File System) is a flash file system initially developed by Samsung Electronics for the Linux kernel.
The motive for F2FS was to build a file system that, from the start, takes into account the characteristics of NAND flash memory-based storage devices (such as solid-state disks, eMMC, and SD cards), which are widely used in computer systems ranging from mobile devices to servers.

@1indwurm
This is awesome! I'm going to be trying this some time this weekend probably, after a few people have reviewed the kernel. I'm especially glad that someone has taken over genesixxbf3's kernel- thank you!
Also, have you experienced any issues with the new F2FS file system? I've heard many good things about it, but this phone is my daily driver and I want it to be as stable as possible/

This kernel provides awesome battery life! I'm so amazed about it. Unplugged my phone 14 hours ago and still have 80% battery (I gotta admit I didn't use it much today). This is crazy!
Amazing! :highfive:

No it hasn't. A simple profile in the app "tasker" is triggered when the screen is on/off and changes the governor accordingly

Easily fixed by downloading SuperSU, and disabling Superuser (app) within the Apps section of Settings.
Yeah, finally! Thanks for this build, but I have one problem that wasn't mentioned before: My music is in the now playing section just showing kind of nothing (see in the Attachments) - I runned supercharger for a bit increasements in reaction time, maybe this is the issue if no other ppl are reporting this (or it's just the apk I dloaded from Google Play )
btw any chance to see a kernel with increased I/O to the official version from unter's source maybe? (yeah, they aren't up to date for 4.2, but Asus I/O is not really godlike lol )
Testing now things like surfing etc. - if there are more issues I'll report :good:
Just installed Play Music from Play Store, and the app seems to work fine. Let it some time to sync maybe?
As for I/O patches, some are already in sources, and I can't find any relevant commit at untermensch's github besides CPU/GPU clock changes.
Ok, I think I noticed differences without OC, but maybe it was GPU OC
btw Trebuchet is force closing for me when hiding the search bar, is this only my fault?
btw btw: google play music (and other laagish screens) "fixed" by letting the ROM be the ROM and set I/O to deadline...
Time to do some installing!
Is GPS still ****ed?
I installed this ROM just to check it out, but now I want to restore my previous backup. I went to TWRP but it says I don't have any! I checked my /data partition, and it's completely different, and a lot of stuff is missing.
Any help?
I'm not sure but some I/O patches are in ramdisk - means untermensch kernel have other ext4 mount options. And about the GPU and CPU OC, as I know this comes from that untermensch kernel emulates the TF700T hardware.

Blame TWRP, they're not 4.2-compliant yet. Since multi-user arrived, all data is organised in subfolders inside /sdcard with IDs for every user (main user = 0), so you have something like /sdcard/0/actualdata

Reporting Bugs
You are allowed to report bugs only in this thread. Note that this is a preview release and non-device specific bugs will not be accepted. Before reporting a bug, please make sure you are running as stock as possible. This means no custom kernel, no custom framework modification, etc. If you are using any of the above modifications, please flash the build again to get rid of the modifications before reporting.
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved.
Use these commands to get a logcat and dmesg
Code:
adb root
adb logcat > logcat.txt (wait for a few seconds then press Ctrl + C)
adb shell dmesg > dmesg.txt

Just booted to ART on cm-11-20131208-NIGHTLY-p1 + Banks Gapps. Took about 5 minutes to boot from bootscreen and 15 minutes to update the apps. So far so good, things are going smooth. Thanks for this, no need to repartition now Keep up the good work!!!
How long it takes to update to ART? I think my tab has already been about 20 min in boot animation...
Edit: it has been in boot animation over 40 min. Force rebooting...

if you dony have many apps installed before converting to ART, it should take about 10-15 mins. it goes to boot animation, and then optimizig apps screen. 40 mins is too much. perhaps you haven't added that line in post 2.

I think added that line, If it doesn't boot after reboot I will check that it.
Edit: not booting...
Edit: I do have /data/local.prop with dalvik.vm.dexopt-data-only=1 in it
Edit: I think I do clean reinstall and try to use ART after that.
Edit: factory reset -> reinstall rom + gapps -> turn ART on and reboot -> stuck again -> added /data/local.prop with that line -> reboot -> optimizing apps -> everything crashes -> force reboot -> optimizing again -> 1. systemui crash, 2. Themes provider crash 3. com.android.phone crash... -> force reboot -> optimizing -> same crashes... -> shutting down...
Got ART working, this time I did clean install (without gapps and with older nightly), added /data/local.prop, set ART on and rebooted.

@cdesai do you or CyanogenMod have any plans for the p1c? ive heard that the main isue is cdma so even if it is a wifi only rom its atleast a start
also i was wondering, could someone flash a p1 rom on a p1c device that is being used only as a wifi tablet because the contract ended?
or is there something with the kernel that wouldn't let the p1c device boot using a p1 rom?

I have a GSM device, and the CDMA device's hardware has differences from the GSM version, so no, you can't just flash a GSM build on a CDMA device, even if you're using it as a wifi-only tablet - it just won't work.
Both devices use a different kernel, and different kernel version even (GSM has moved the aries kernel - aka what Galaxy S uses, whereas CDMA still has it's own, older version)
Thanks for the great work. I have 2 questions:
1. Where can I download the Gapps for this version? I've tried several versions and in all of them I got errors regarding Google apps.
2. Is 3G (networking) fully functional?

It's depend on you. If you want to taste the full Google Experience such as GoogleSearchHome (integrated with Google Now) you must choose GApps Standard. But GApps Core only install Google Service.
I can't understand why people wants to move to ART so fast... It's well known that most apps doesn't plays well with ART yet, so it's much better to not use ART for some time until apps adopts it massively.

Yes u will loose each and everything so backup as the OP said in his post, second thing its a file system so it will change ur current file system like ext4 in to f2fs and you need the recovery plus the working kernel to operate f2fs. As OP mentioned, its not for stock.

Hi I bring F2FS kernel for e975!
What is F2FS?(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F2FS)
F2FS (Flash-Friendly File System) is a flash file system created by Jaegeuk Kim at Samsung for the Linux operating system kernel.
The motive for F2FS was to build a file system that from the start takes into account the characteristics of NAND flash memory-based storage devices (such as solid-state disks, eMMC, and SD cards), which are widely used in computer systems ranging from mobile devices to servers.
F2FS much faster than EXT4
*I already tested only CM 4.4*(not for STOCK)
Features
-Based on CM Kernel
-Linux 3.4.91
-Linaro 4.9
-F2FS
-CPU Voltage Control
-Fsync
-iphone color preset
-gamma control
-Low Cpu Clocks
-Optimization Governors
-autosmp
-ETC..
F2FS Installation(F2FS support recovery included in 'F2FS for e975.zip')
!!WARNING!! You will LOSE ALL your data .(Photos, Videos, Music, etc)
1. http://d-h.st/GD7 Download and go to recovery
2. Wipe Cache & Dalvik Cache
3. Flash F2FS for e975.zip
4. Update to Newest kernel. http://d-h.st/8jh (v1.0)
5. Enjoy!
Normal kernel Installation(Non F2FS)
1. http://d-h.st/8jh (v1.0) Download and go to recovery
2. Wipe Cache & Dalvik Cache
3. Flash Sail_v*.zip

so if it's gproj kernel, will it work with Vanir 4.3.1?
the rom mentioned above works great with "f93 grpoj" kernel, so why the "sail" kernel doesn't work with this stuff?
I flashed without F2FS recovery (2nd method), i wanted to try ,how good it is
I've got a kernel crash (black screen , white text), anyway i stay tuned, because i really would try how much F2FS improves speed

I'll try to make kernel for 4.3
And 4.4? Would like to try f2fs and with your kernel on slimkat, and if it's going to be stable I think more users will try it

Thanks is advance this can be very usefull, because in my opinion , Vanir 4.3.1 is one of the best (real) gaming performance rom (not in benchmarks), i think so, because every game runs much smoother on rom mentioned above, than any 4.4.2 builds (tested almost so much roms) even with OC , i know it's mainly kernel dependent, but i really feel the difference (almost 24k on Antutu with 4.4.2 and ak [email protected],84Ghz and not as much smoothnes in GTA SA, vs 21k with 4.3.1 rom @1,5Ghz and really smooth gaming on High Quality and Detailed Reflections on the same game)
There are of course many usefull features to add to ur kernel like IntelliPlug , and good thermal (like IntelliThermal) ,dt2w, gpu governors (e.g. simple governor) etc. Anyway, I don't know how to build own kernel, and I suppose it's a really hard work to make a ultra fast kernel with a lot of features so look at it with distance.
sorry if I'm too pedantic I'm just a smartphone perfectionist

Maybe a bit difficult to stay with but this thing sounds interesting, not bad.

Yup, it has no support for LVM just like CM12 and 12.1
Screenshots will be coming up soon.
I am downloading the ROM with "JDownloader 2 BETA". It does not require a baidu account. My internet speed is pretty slow (Max 60kB/s), so it will take a while before I can upload any screenshots
EDIT: Hey guys the mirrors are up! & LVM is supported
wow Wuxianlin is great, isn't the same dev who made cm12 early builds? i will install after they fix the storage bug, i use my find7 as daily driver... so is a bit too early for me maybe
i hope that the new way to format sd cards as internal storage introduced in M could finally stop forcing me to deal with lvm/coldbird things
thanks for the interesting post and thanks to who made mirrors of course

Too bad lvm is officially a way to have all internal storage in one place. We can only hope cm will merge it in their rom.

I hoped it to, but afaik cm team never talked about any unificatiom method and in their official support they generally avoid this kind of workaround so if i can use a class 10 micro SD with decent results in installing and using apps will be fine to me..
EDIT: i find out a way to open that site with firefox and downloaded the description.txt in the folder, translated from chinese to english with google translator and got this:
Here is stored in the adaptation to Android6.0 Find 7 (CM13)
Subdivision Related:
Android 6.0 the vold dynamically mounted storage, but there seems to be some bug, for Find7 factory district ext4 format internal card mount has a problem, but the 5.0 merge partition is no problem
Screen Related:
CM kernel Find 7 Standard Edition R63419 batch of LCD compatibility is not good, resulting in the video, so this batch friend patience omnirom good caf drive there merge
Brush into the method:
1. brush into twrp recovery
2. Enter TWRP, Shuangqing, brush into ROM package, bug fixes package, ROOT patch, RE Manager patch (Standard Edition plus brush find7s_patch.zip)
3. Restart, eating cotton candy bars
Known bug:
1.NFC
2. Camera incidental FC
3. Built-in browser has problems
The built-in file manager as a problem, put a patch RE Manager

the translation is bad but seems that also a couple of zips has to be flashed apart from the rom itself and the gapps, for sure for rooting i see in the folder that the dev has put supersu 2.52 beta
Keeping a close eye on this thread so I can test as soon as the main bugs are handled
downloading via browser ends browser application... i tried downloading fdroid apk...
So anyone try to merge the stock oppo storage "3GB(apps)+23GB(video,photos,music, etc...)" with new Android M format function??

You need to flash ColorOS because of the Modem issue. The original CM source code used the ColorOS 4.3 Modem as reference and built their ROM. And they still continue to use that source so just for installing the 4.3 modem, you have to install COS 1. ( Note: If incompatible modem is used, your carrier service would not work and you will not receive any signal )
There is a newer version out today, but i can't download it from "baidu"! Maybe someone can add it to driver folder?

Haha ... That's awesome news Gabry. Can't say for how long I waited this, really good job mate ! I'm willing to test when I have some free time and don't need full working state. Only issue that retains me to flash it right now is the gps I use daily for trafic ... other than that, other features are useless for me. Hope to get my hands on soon. Keep it up ! Cheers.

Dear @gabry3795. i installed the Rom yesterday ... Pure Android is really Super ...thanks for your effort and work...
but as also you know, there are really many bugs and it closes the launcher, gallery, camera etc by itself ... I also couldn't restore my apps from the backup of TWRP and also Titanium backup again....
