Samsung Tab 3 Kids - SM-T2105, Can i install normal rom instead of origional rom? - Galaxy Tab 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
i purchased the Samsung Tab 3, when i received it, it showed Tab 3 Kids! i wanted for my mom, but this one is very slow!
can i get rid of this kids rom, and install normal samsung tab 3 rom? on google, there are many types of the tab: SM-T210, 211 and others. does one of them will work?
and what shall i use: odin or CWM?
regard.

any response? thanks

First of all, you have to find out exactly which model of tab you have.....
Settings>>about device>>model number.
Then you have to go to sammobile dot com or samsung-updates dot com and download the corresponding firmware.
Then use Odin (not recovery/cwm) and a PC to flash it.

i know that, my question is: can i replace this Samsung kids firmware / rom with normal tab 3 rom?

This is why we need the model number. I didn't ask just for the fun of it. The model number will help us identify whether there is a normal firmware for it.
Edit....probably best to check which model it is in download mode....The existing firmware may have changed the info in 'about device' whereas the info in download mode can't be changed.
http://i.imgur.com/rVnFwJM.jpg

the model is SM-T2105, it's 7", 1G memory and 8G storage
bit.ly/1UzGO9D
sorry but i though that you know the model number or i have mentioned it before. sorry again.

Yes....you did mention the model number before, but I needed to know if what is displayed in download mode said something different...
Sent from my SM-G900F using XDA Labs

I am also interested in changing my daughters t2105 kids into a non-kids tablet (she is older now). I tried gr8noles nolekat for t210 but all i get are bootloops. A nice guide would be great if it is even possible?
Many Thanks, Lee.

To anybody posting in this thread.....
Contact Samsung....ask them if this tab is one of the standard (grown up) versions with a child friendly software package on it. If it is, find out which version of the tablet it is.....
Then flash a pit file with the correct software package. I can provide a link to where you can get the pit file, but until you get 100% accurate information as to WHICH TABLET IT IS, you DON'T want to start messing around with pit files.

PLEASE

what is the best way to get back to out of box condition? (if I cant get the sim issue resolved)
I have tried a few stock root updates through ODIN and I keep getting errors. I think its because the firmwares are diffrent regions than my origonal USA AT & T.
please
thank you

ok seriously, I'll pay $$$ to anyone who can help me fix this
If anyone can help me fix this I will pay pal you $50
You flashed a ROM that's intended for international note 2 (N7100) on your US variant note 2 (N7105). There's your problem. The modem for US phone is different than international since US has LTE and International doesn't.
What you need to do is..
Go to samfirmware.com
Create an account and search for AT&T US N7105 note II firmware and download it.
Go into download mode on your phone and use odin to flash the firmware into your phone. And next time if you're going to flash something make sure it was made for the phone you're using.

I suppose you flashed a ROM after you repartitioned your device.
Which one?
Also can you post screenshots to see what you mean?

I flashed the .pit file with official firmware from sammobile.com the flashed unofficial CM11 nightly.
I am unable to provide a screen shot of the actual device due to the live demo unit displaying at first startup. I have googled an image but of a different device to give you an idea.
Thanks again
Try the Samsung KIes emergency firmware recovery tool

I don't know about that, but I have read in the forum about Knox resetting about a procedure that a guy used to restore his soft bricked phone. He states that "I used the Samsung KIes emergency firmware recovery tool!".
If flashing the Stock ROM via Odin didn't do your thing perhaps the mentioned procedure will. The tricky part is that "... it wants you to report a few numbers under the battery". Perhaps it's the Serial Number which you can get without removing the battery.
Perhaps what applied to Knox resetting will apply to your issue too. Let me know how it goes.

[Q] How to select the correct Firmware for my Tablet?

Hello there,
I am a bit confused on how to find out which firmware is the correct one for my Samsung Galaxy Tab S and download it.
So I went to Settings-->General-->About Device and there I see my Model Number SM-T805, my Baseband Version T805XXU1ANF6 and my Buid number KOT49H.T805XXU1ANFB .
So I went to http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ I put my model number in Search field and on the list that comes up I see my model number and something that is called PDA and CSC columns. Which column should I check and which one corresponds to my Baseband Version and Build number?
I also tried that site too http://samsung-updates.com/ I search my device and when I find it I see a column Version .
Now that column to which one of the two, Baseband Version or Build number corresponds to?
So I don't know which site to choose for my future updates and how to know if there is an update, which one is the correct one for my tablet without risking to brick my device?
Thank you in advance,
Just look for the build number (PDA). The CSC (Consumer Software Customisation) just refers to your region/carrier. So just select the right build for your country and carrier (if applicable). I wouldnt worry about the Baseband, that is part of the firmware.
If you live in Athens then you would select:
TM-T805
Greece
2014 July
4.4.2
T805XXU1ANFB
T805EUR1ANF1
P.S. note your country code EUR is part of the CSC build name.

To you will be helped by KIES, which will find the right new firmware for your Region-code CSC using the model type and serial number of your Tab.
1. Updating to the latest version of KIES 3
2. Run the KIES 3
3. KIES Menu Tools -> Firmware Upgrade and Initialisation -> Model name SM-T805 -> OK -> S / N (Serial Number of your Tab) -> OK -> OK -> OK
4. Turn on your Tab and connect it to PC with KIES 3
5. Next step by step according to the instructions KIES 3. Update to the latest version stock firmware can take several hours.

@porcelana, I wish I could use KIES to do everything automatically but since I am rooted, I have to find the right firmware, download it manually and then use ODIN to flash it.
So @ashyx if I understood it correctly, first I should check my Buid number on my tablet which is KOT49H.T805XXU1ANFB, then I should go to that site http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/, then put my model number in the Search field and on the list that comes up, I should look up under the PDA column a firmware ending in T805XXU1ANFB to match my Build number on my tablet and on the Country/Carrier column I should look up for my country which is Greece.
Did I get it or not?

In this case, you can also use KIES, but only for to find correct data (PDA, Phone, CSC) of the original stock firmware for your Tab with its original Region-code CSC. To do this, you should limit the use of only these steps:
KIES Menu Tools -> Firmware Upgrade and Initialisation -> Model name: SM-T805 -> OK -> S / N (Serial Number of your Tab) - > OK.
After that, KIES will find the right new firmware for your Region-code CSC using the model type and serial number of your Tab, and will show you the data on a PC screen for PDA, Phone, CSC and also the Region-code for which your Tab was made. This is the correct data for the new original stock firmware for your Tab with its original Region-code CSC. This is important! Because it reduces the chance of losing IMEI at flash stock firmware with others Region-code CSC. Having these correct data from KIES for PDA, Phone, CSC and original Region-code, you can already look for this stock wirmware for an flash it through Odin. The necessary firmware, you can look at:

Since when is it not possible to update via kies if you're rooted?
If you're rooted Kies won't let you update your current ROM, but it will let you install the stock firmware and then it will let you update... Well at least that was my experience with my Galaxy S4, haven't had to update my Tab S yet. Although it's quicker and easier to download firmware updates and just Odin them. :sly:

I know that this is a long-standing question, but I will answer. Perhaps this will help someone with a similar problem.
This is possible if you know the Serial Number of your phone. You can find it in several places, for example, on the back cover of the phone, on the sticker of the original box or in the phone settings in the section "About device". Usually Serial Number has 11 characters (letters and numbers) and usually begins with the letter R.
Use your Serial Namber and the recommendations of this post:

PS: Unfortunately your phone model is not discussed in this thread and so we can receive a remark from the Forum Admin. Try asking a question in the thread that fits your phone model or use private messages. It will be correct.
Hi, please can you tell me in the case of a phone that is in "Brick death" and was able to recover at least you can already access to "Emergency Download Mode", but logically I do not have any tangible data from the phone, therefore it necessary to use the ODIN, but in this case if I only have the SERIAL and other data of the phone label, how can I know which Firmware to download and which is the correct one?
Data of the phone label:
Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini Duos (Dual SIM)
Model: GT-I9192
FCC ID: A3LGTI9192
SSN: -I9192GSMH
S / N: R21G705L1WX
IMEI1: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
IMEI2: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
You already tried with a Firmware:
Official ROM Firmware RUSS (Spanish)
Samsung S4 Mini GT-I9192
Android: 4.4.2 KitKat
File: I9192XXUCNG2_I9192SERCNG2_I9192XXUCNG2_HOME.tar.md5
This Firmware is the only one that ends well (GOOD) with ODIN but when it automatically restarts, it stays in BOOTLOOP, continuously restarting, the other problem I have is that on the phone screen when it is in the "Download Mode", it seems to have the ERROR: "Write Protection: enable". I think that this is the reason why the Flasheo does not end well even if the ODIN says that it culminates all GOOD.
In this case which serial procedures to follow?

In which country did you buy this phone when it was new and in factory sealed box?
Try to download the firmware for your phone for this country. You can download the firmware using this links:
http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-I9192
http://live.samsung-updates.com/index.php?device=GT-I9192

https://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?q=GT-I9192&exact=1&r=SER&v=KitKat%28Android+4.4.2%29&rpp=15
As process of record comes to the end successfully with ROM of the region of SER (Russia), it is possible to try to load in this case a service ROM for the same region of SER - I9192XXSCQA3_SER_20170428194852_factory. Here reference to such ROM:

Thank you friend, I am patient and I know that this takes some time on the first boot in some models, but this is not the case, the phone DOES NOT load the boot BOOT, it keeps restarting when the black screen letters appear saying: "Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini" turns itself off and restarts again, this happens infinitely, if I do not remove the battery, it consumes it completely.

If you know the Serial Number of your phone, then try to use for this KIES as it is described here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=58515655&postcount=3. You can find the serial number of your phone on its back cover, on the original Samsung box or in the phone purchase documents. You can also try to find the correct PDA using the Serial Phone Number and the Smart Switch program.

Download the US Firmware here:
https://samsung-firmware.org/model/SM-T800/region/XAR/
Hi All,
I needed the stock SM-T800 US firmware recently to roll back one of our units, and the only link of the two above that worked was the sammobile link...and they wanted to charge for downloading it.
I looked around and finally found the back up I made years ago, and want to give back to xda for all the help you all have given me, so I'm posting a link to it here.
This backup was made however with TWRP, (version 3.2.3-0) so if you are a clever person and can extract the /BOOT /SYSTEM and /DATA directories from the TWRP backup files then you have found your no cost stock SM-T800 US version, Android 6.
If you want to install it using TWRP then:
1. You will have to have TWRP installed as your recovery.
2. You will need to know the serial number of your device as a 16 alpha/numeric number, NOT the serial number shown on the sticker on the back or your device, or what Android 6 shows in Settings.
Believe it or not, the stock ROM Android 6 shows the same 11 digit serial number in Settings as is on the sticker on the back of your device..which is logical. LineageOS 14 (Android 7) however, shows a 16 alpha/numeric number like I mention above as your serial number in Settings. As I mention above, the 16 digit serial number is what you will need to restore this stock ROM using TWRP.
The stock ROM (Android 6) as a TWRP backup can be downloaded at the link below:

Samsung Galaxy s9 Demo Security Error

Hello! This is my first post on any forum ever, so please be gentle.
Recently I dumpster dove behind a U.S. Cellular that had just gone out of business and I found this neat Samsung Galaxy S9 Live Demo phone. It was originally flashed with an SM-G960XU Firmware, but I wanted to de-demo mode it, so I thought I would flash an SM-G960U firmware on it instead.
This failed miserably and I now have the following error: "Security Error: This phone has been flashed with unauthorized software...". A picture of the error, as well as the other information I have been able to glean from the locked phone is attached.
Unfortunately, I knew nothing about androids before attempting to flash the phone, so I have no other data about the phone other than what is in the pictures.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much,
Oronto
Meh... you have a parts queen, less the mobo.
Demo unit should be missing the baseband chip hardware inside, so even if you could flash the stock firmware you would be limited to using it with wifi.
Apart from that, what happens if you try to flash again with odin? i would try flashing the precedent firmware G960XU

Hi effry,
Thank you for your response. I would love to reflash it with its original firmware but I can’t find it anywhere on the internet! I did not realize I was supposed to back up the firmware before flashing it which was quite the mistake. Do you happen to know where I might be able to find this firmware?
Thank you very much,
Oronto
Start from here and check the exact phone model with the IMEI, it is printed on the bottom of the back of the phone (use a strong light, it's a small and light text)
Check Samsung IMEI information in SamFw.com
You can check Samsung IMEI information like Model, Region. And you can choose the exact firmware
samfw.com
After that you can use the same site to search for the correct firmware , donwload it and flash it with Odin

Hi Blackhawk,
Thanks for the response. What do you mean by a parts queen? Do you mean I should sell it for parts on eBay?
Thanks,
Oronto

A hangar queen is the actual terminology. An aircraft used for donor parts to keep others flying.
The display, frame, battery, C port pcb, cam module should be good. The mobo is useless for use as a phone except as noted with wifi.
So if you have another phone of the same model... you now have an Android queen

Hi effry,
Thank you again! I input the model’s serial number into the website you linked and it returned that the firmware is SM-G960XZKUXAR. Unfortunately, that website doesn’t have the firmware that it tells me the phone is supposed to have. I checked elsewhere on the internet but I can’t seem to find it. Is there an obscure website you know of that might have it?
Alternatively, do you think it is possible that I could flash it with another equivalent firmware? If so, what might you suggest?
Thank you very much,
Oronto

Hi blackhawk,
Thank you for your insight into which parts seem useful for scrapping. It is looking like I might have to do that. Unfortunately, I do not have an equivalent model, so I will have to sell it for parts if it comes down to that.
Thanks again,
Oronto

By looking online it seems that flashing the firmware with odin should fix the issue. Maybe you did something wrong in the process? i would try another odin flash using this firmware

Hello again effry,
I tried your firmwares and bad things have happened. It got to where the download was almost finished and then it displayed this error. Unfortunately Smart Switch Emergency Software Recovery does not register it as connected.
I believe I am boned. Thoughts on this?
Thanks,
Oronto

You could just replace the motherboard from Ebay for around 50 bucks (USD). Make sure it's a regular unlocked version (both FRP and network), any carrier will do since you can cross flash any firmware of your choice (no need for the demo anymore). Just a heads up, demo units sometimes are missing some of the LTE antenna cables/connectors, which would prevent the good replacement main board from working on cellular.

Hi billa,
Thanks for the advice. I’ll look into it, but I might end up just selling it for parts.
Thanks,
Oronto
