xda2s stuck is serial mode

hello,
my xda2s is stuck in serial mode please can someone tell me how to get it out of serial mode?
Thank you.
I assumed you tried the soft reset hole and the hard reset (wipe out all data) mode (with power button held down)?
Yeah mine is stuck in the serial mode also. I have tried several different ways to reset it and in won't reset. I don't know if I'm doing it right or not, but I tried to do it by holding down the power and the soft reset button. Then I tried to hold down the camera, record, power, and soft reset buttons and it won't do it.
Please help me also to get it out of the serial mode
Thanks
I don't know if this will help. But I kinda face the similar problem.
My device also stuck in the serial mode while upgrading to the 1.08 Radio ROM.
It was switched to the serial mode by the upgarde software while checking the device ROM. Then it just stuck there forever.
Soft-reset and Hard-reset won't bail me out off the serial mode. And the upgrade software also got stucked on my PC.
What I did was to reboot my PC, replug my XDA IIs back to the craddle (while still in the serial mode) and reflash the ROM again. The second time was a success. The ROM upgrade was smooth and the device was able to get out off the serial mode after a soft reset.

why my Desire cannot boot into HBOOT menu

Please help ...
Any MOD please delete this Thread!
Cant see anything to help here .....
Sorry ... sorry..
I turn the phone off, press the power button and volume down ... I don't see any HBOOT menu.
I have change the option to disk drive (under PC connection) ..
First Volume Down (hold) then Power!
What did you want to do?
Flashing Recovery Image with Unrevoked?
I am trying to
(1) unroot using Painless root by UnrEVOked
(2) flash a cooked ROM
Did you downloaded the hboot driver?
http://www.unrevoked.com/rootwiki/l...unrevoked.com/recovery/android-usb-driver.zip
U should connect your Desire to pc and mount USB Storage and only after this run unrevoked.exe in admin mode Hboot mode should enter automatic.
Sry for my english ;-)
Edit: I think u want to root not unroot ? =)
The steps is as follow
1) Download the unrEVOked modified USB driver and expand it somewhere you will remember.
2) Turn off your phone, then boot it into the HBOOT menu by holding power and volume down.
3) Connect the phone to your Windows machine with a USB cable and wait for the phone to say HBOOT USB PLUG on screen
I am stuck at #2
You are completely powering the phone off first, aren't you? Then hold volume down and tap power keeping volume down held until hboot comes up.
Try put your device Power Down and start it with back + power then select Hboot mode with power button.....This should help ;-)
please help.

HTC Desire Loop problem
Hi All,
Been reading the threads, having had this problem with my HTC desire:
Went to a Boot Loop this morning and I haven't yet performed the CLEAR STORAGE function. Called HTC to complain that I have to loose my data and asked them if they can help deleting some of the data on the phone's own memory, so I can restart it. I think the problem occured when the low memory message appeared. From HTC told me that they cannot do that for legal reason.
Does anyone know how I can access the phone memory, delete some data and then restart it, rather than CLEAR STORATE it, since I will loos all my sms and phone book, setings, etc...
Please if you know, let me know.
Thanks you
Plamen
To boot your Desire S into hboot by holding ‘back’ button down, your SIM card should be inside the phone.

[Q] Vol down stuck on, can't get past recovery.

Phone seemed fine until earlier when the volume just decided to go right down and it started vibrating. I restarted it and now I'm stuck at recovery as the volume rocker seems to be stuck from the inside. The rocker switch seems to work ok but it's as if the volume is stuck in the down position so that whenever I get into the recovery menu, the cursor just goes loopy as if the vol down is being held.
Has anyone heard of such a thing before and recovered from it or is it a warranty repair job?
Also, any tips on how to RUU the handset in this state?
Any help greatly appreciated.
you can run a RUU while in fastboot mode.
since vol down is constantly pressed i dunno if you will be able to get into it.
try switching phone off, then switching it on pressing BACK + POWER buttons
hopefully this will boot into fastboot rather than bootloader.
if succesful, just plug your phone with a usb cable to PC and run the RUU.exe

BLANK SCREEN..cos of volume -dn button

Hey,
The issue is that the screen is blank and goes on a boot loop because the volume down button on the volume rocker is continuously pressed.
Because of which the phone doesnt allow android revoluntion to boot at all..
Always goes to the HBOOT menu from which if i click the power button it goes into bootloader mode but windows shows
QUALCOMM CDMA driver instead of the correct drivers.....
it doesnt show the correct driver.
Then i tried adb after removing the battery again.
i typed
adb devices
(once it found the devices)
adb shell
recovery.
now the screen comes alive and shows my 4ext recovery console.
The biggest problem here is the volume button not allowing me to boot into a ROM.
Is their a way to disable that or is it something else that i have done that i am not even able to revert to stock rom in
BOOTLOADER mode??
I thought it was a SLCD because i saw this post
http://androidforums.com/desire-all-things-root/215886-solved-desire-slcd-black-screen-bricked.html
But i realised that the above was for Desire and NOT of DHD.
I cannot even see the HBOOT menu. I somehow managed to get to the recovery becos of the shell command by adb.
What am i to do??
Can someone please help?

I fixed it....everythings in working condition now...
I just took a twesers and removed the volume rocker from its housing by pulling the cable under the manufacturing sticker.
And then suspected that putting it back in its place would make it go back to the same state again but i hasnt for now...
It wasnt showing the HBOOT menu as the volume down button was constantly pressed instead of being released.
I wish i would have just done it sooner but anyways phewww.....

my device still on stock firmware and not unlocked bootloader so any help for that???? and thank you....sorry for my bad english
Hi, unfortunately I have the same problem and experience with my XZ2C with locked bootloader and latest PIE fw *. 163. I did not notice that before.
I also did not find anything, what could help. I wiped and reflashed phone, it was useless and waste of time.
I also noticed, that I'm not able to start the phone when connected to PC, it starts directly in flash mode (same as POWER + vol Down). And there is no graphics in this mode also... I think, I had to select something in the 'menu' with blue (?) background to be able to flash ROM previously...
Another 'great' update from Sony?
I hope they will fix it in next (bootloader) update.
