Enable system ui tuner? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+

Is it possible to enable the system ui tuner on this phone? I have looked online and followed the instructions. I tapped and held the gear in the quick settings for as much as 30 seconds and it didn't enable. I saw another post that said you could enable it from the developer options. I looked there and there isn't an entry or setting for it. The developer options are enabled and animations are enabled. I am using the Apex launcher. I tried to do from the TW launcher as well. Any ideas?

Easy way to toggle a developer option?

Is there an app that allows direct access to one of the developer options so I can easily toggle it? I'm running stock, unrooted.
Here's the issue: Just upgraded to 4.3, and there's a bug that resets the Transition Animation Scale back to 1x whenever you run the Camera app. Right now I have to do Settings > More > Developer Options > scroll down to Transition Animation Scale > set to None > exit. PIA every time I use the Camera.
What I'd like is to have a script that runs the Camera app and then on exit automatically resets the animation option. Short of that I'd settle for a direct link to the option setting.
Any help appreciated.

if you use say Nova launcher you can long press the home screen select shortcut/activity or app/ and can choose things like you are wanting and itll make an icon as if it was an app on your homescreen

Good thought. I am actually using Nova. Just looked through all the available Activity links but don't see direct access to the specific option I need to toggle.
I've also installed the Developer Options app, which does allow one click access to the Dev Options, so that's better than drilling down through Settings, etc.

[SOLVED] System UI Tuner doesn't show up in Android M

Just flashed Android M final version from factory image, try the method (long tap on Settings gear) for System UI Tuner, but nothing happens...
Any idea?
It took me several tries to get it to work. I finally went to settings to see if I missed the message, but I didn't. Once I did it once from the settings screen it worked.

Probably the animation is disabled in developer option. Enable it and reboot.

Yes, i disabled the animation...i hope that's the reason...i am not have the tab with me right now, so can't try immediately.
Thanks!
Google is hiding everything from users as usual.
System UI tuner is nowhere to be found on Nexus 7 by default even under developer options. It just doesnt exist!
In order to enable System UI tuner on your Nexus 7 in the first place you have to long tap settings icon and then you get message "congratulations, system UI tuner has been enabled"
Enjoy!
BTW, there is no vertical app drawer by default on Nexus 7 either! You have to download "Google Now Launcher" app from Google Play/ Carefully read notifications once you open this app, it is asking if you want to transfer all icons on your current homescreen to new one or start from scratch

the animation was the trick...or the bug?
Anyway, it's working now.
I am unable to get this to activate. I went under develop options to check the animation settings. All I see is: window animation scale, transition animation scale, and animator duration scale. All 3 are at 1x. Any thoughts?
im using a note 3 running resurrection remix android 6.0.1 and i am also unable to enable system ui tuner. Developer options is turned on, animations are turned on as well, but the gear will not spin and i cannot get the toast message no matter how many times i try to press and hold the button. Please help.

let me know if you get any answers.
I have the same problem. Doesn't work.
With Cyanogenmod 12.1 (latest smapshot) my problem is the same. The cog keeps spinning around and stops when I don't touch it anymore. Is it possible to edit some config file to activate the System UI Tuner? Or isn't there any Sytem UI Tuner in the Cyanogenmod releases at all?
Heinz
^It does the same in CM13 on my i777. I'm pretty sure it doesn't do anything because those settings are already available in CM.
sorry, wrong phone
How is this SOLVED? I am having the same problem on a non rooted Samsung galaxy s5. And this did not explain why it is not working or how to get to the system ui tuner. I've tried everything, but the gear doesn't spin at all. And in all the pics I've seen, none of them have hardware buttons like the galaxies do, they've always been the buttons on the screen, the back button, the home button, and the menu button.
I am using asus zenphone 2 laser 5.5.....
I can't enable the system ui tunner...
I tried all the way what are clearly shown above.
Any one help me

Touchwiz removed the settings with one of its updates. There is no current access to the System UI.
Recommend removing the SOLVED part of the title, so as to not confuse anyone searching for solutions.

HTC 10 Unlocked Ver - System UI Tuner not working?S

I have 2 other devices running Marshmallow so I know I'm not doing this wrong. I am not able to get the System UI Tuner to enable by holding down on the settings icon in the Quick Settings tray. I read up on this and it appears this may be related to having animations disabled. Unfortunately, this is not the case for me. I've toggled Dev Options and toggled animations before and after rebooting and the icon still does not spin.
Anyone else having this problem? Thanks.

This feature is disabled by HTC
Thank you for confirming that. This is seriously upsetting. I appreciate that they wanted to strip down Sense UI but it seems like they are taking away so many bare features. It really bothers the crap out of me.

System UI Tuner has been removed, but I need a setting in it that isn't anywhere else

Hi everyone,
I know that almost all of the settings in System UI Tuner are now elsewhere in lineage os, but I need to enable the native "dark mode" feature. Google removed this from system ui tuner, but there is a flashable zip that brings it back and makes it accessible through System UI Tuner. I need to enable System Ui Tuner, then flash the zip, in order to enable a native dark mode. The normal quick settings setting cog icon technique is not working. I've seen the same issue multiple times, but those people found the settings they were looking for elsewhere! All I want is a native, built-in dark mode. Help me!

How do I access System UI?

I'm trying to figure out how to access system ui tuner. If I search the settings for system ui, it finds it, but I can't launch it. I keep reading to hold down the gear icon in the notification area for 10 seconds and it's supposed to add system ui tuner to the settings but that's not working for me.
Where did you read about this? , I somewhat remember something of the sort

I just got into it using activity launcher.
Using that or other equivalent software look for under System UI find the option called "system UI demo mode". Once you launch the system UI demo mode the system ui tuner appears.
It doesn't seem to add a menu option. So you will need to repeat the steps above or create a shortcut to the respective activity.
On, so that did get me into systemui settings. What I'm trying to do with it is I have a sound profiles app. On my last phone I used a different sound profiles app. The sound profiles in the notification area was always the first item listed. That just makes sense. Well, I just got this Note 10+ and for whatever reason the sound profiles app i used to use on my old phones doesn't work on the Note 10+. Its not changing the volumes correctly. I changed to a different sound profile app called audio profiles. This program is working perfect with adjusting the volumes, but it always appears at the bottom of the notifications. Sometimes I have to scroll to see it. I posted to another forum and someone suggested that system ui settings allow you to adjust which notifications appear at the top of the notifications. I'm not finding that in the system ui settings.
Try maybe with Samsung SoundAssistant app (to manage profiles etc.)
