Retail or Developer Upgrade to the latest Official 6.0.1 firmware (N910VVRU2CPF3) - Galaxy Note 4 Original Android Development

Do not proceed with out perfect understanding.!!!!
Restore to Developer Edition 6.0.1 from (A Perfect Retail Verizon Note 4 6.0.1 or less)
**** Backup , Backup, Backup... Got it?
1. Optional! Use EFS Professional or FlashFire to completely back up all partitions of your factory Developer Note 4 to your External SD, then move immediately to your PC or other backup device (Just In Case you have a DE. This is not a requirement. I have not needed to use it but it feels good.. I guess?)
2. Download to your PC or SD the latest 6.0.1 SM-N910V from SamMobile 2016-06-28 USA (Verizon) 6.0.1 N910VVRU2CPD1 N910VVZW2CPD1 flash this via Odin if this is all you desire to stop here @ Retail Note 4.... or set aside on your PC or extra SD for later.
3. For those of you wishing to attain a Developer Edition 6.0.1, Download to your PC , Extract and flash N910VVRU2BPA1_N910VVRU2CPD1_FullFirmware.tar.md5 via Odin, Factory reset. You will need Verizon or other Service Provider data to perform step 4 as WIFI is not predictable.
4. Your boot-loader is now locked regardless of your investment in a Developer Edition (No Worries), use the boot loader unlock process described in this post using a different/separate 32 GIG SD card(This Means nothing on it to lose!): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66381707&postcount=342 (You can copy and paste all commands directly into fast-boot prompt screen, so don't sweat it. This process will completely temporarily F%#@k your SD card. No Worries as this is completely recoverable). These instructions are slightly outdated so once you have followed these instructions booted up, fire up Flashify to install the latest Recovery TWRP (3.0.2 or newer) that it will download and flash for free!
5. You should now have a Developer Verizon Note 4 running 5.1.1 with a 6.0.1 friendly Boot-loader, and TWRP.
5.1 Flash Super SU Beta 2.74-22016051917432 or newer (You should have no problem as this patches the the Kernel and makes everything Groovy)
6. Execute FlashFire to " Flash firmware package you downloaded in step 2. 6.0.1 SM-N910V from SamMobile 2016-06-28 USA (Verizon) 6.0.1 N910VVRU2CPD1 N910VVZW2CPD1 accept defaults!
7. Enjoy your new 6.0.1 Developer Edition.
8. Verizon should send you OTA shortly for N910VVRU2CPF3. Allow it it to download but no need to to let Verizon install. When you see OTA ready to install after full download, Open FlashFire, select Flash Zip or OTA, it should have detected the Verizon OTA downloaded and step you thorough the install. Remember to let FlashFire handle it with defaults. It allowed only the update to the system , restored TWRP and protected the unlocked boot-loader, Your now on the latest firmware fully supported by Verizon, Developer Edition and fully rooted. Outstanding!

Upgrade procedure to Lollipop (Unlocked + Rooted)

I have a 16gb wifi nexus 7 2013. It's unlocked, rooted, TWRP, running 4.4.4 official firmware, xposed modules, some apps disabled.
So in order to update don't I just disable all xposed modules, re enable all apps, install the update when it finally pushes, then reboot to recovery and twrp will flash su?
Or should I just find a zip to flash? I don't want a custom rom or a developer preview. Just stock firmware only please.
Thanks!
You might as well uninstall Xposed because it won't work with L.
You'll have to wait because there is no official 5.0 firmware yet. You'll have to wait for a new kernel for root as well.
Easiest thing to do would be to just watch xda for news of when the factory image drops for the N7. Then go here https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images and make sure you download the "razor" 5.0 factory image. After the download, unzip the file, put you N7 into boot loader and plug into your computer. Double click the .bat file and you will be at stock 5.0. Flash a custom recovery and go from there....done
Make sure you have a backup of your data. Your device will be wiped by that process. Just a heads up
Think you. I don't require root on my tablet but I do live by Tasker and greenify and xposed.
I guess I should just wait or try a ROM.
I am weary of touch screen issues resurfacing. I may just stay at 4.4.4 if others have sensitivity or ghost touches.

Rooting new D.E. that came with 5.0.1

So my new Verizon Note 4 D.E. comes tomorrow. It comes preloaded with Lollipop 5.0.1. is it possible to root this still? And will TWRP work normally? I read somewhere, a guy was able to root it, but tried to load a ROM and it bootlooped. Got everything back to stock, but now it fails in odin when trying to load the Twrp file....Any thoughts or experiences

Yes you can root and install TWRP on your new DE 4 running Lollipop 5.0.1. Follow these instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-verizon/development/how-to-custom-recovery-root-t2923340 Make sure you download and use the latest TWRP, ODIN and SuperSU files. These files are easy to find, just google them or you may already have a link for them. The method to root and install TWRP explained in the link I provided is the most often used method I am aware of. I am not sure why the user you mentioned is experiencing the problems he's having/had. Before you start make sure you have Developer Options enabled and you have USB debugging selected in Developer Options. (To enable Developer Options go to settings>about phone> and select Build Number six or seven times).
Thanks....dumb question. When i click on the link to download TWRP, i select the TAR file version, it downloads it to a zip file it looks like. If i unzip it, its in a non md5 or tar file and odin doesnt recognize it

help neededOneplus3 DECRYPTION UNSUCCESSFULL - RESET PHONE black screen, recoverymode

Hi,
Problem starting oneplus 3, let me explain.
1) purchased oneplus3, 4 months ago.
2) Rooted,updated oxygen 3.2.8 with TWRP recovery3021 and super SU 2.74-2
3) updated oxygen4.00 with twrp32128 and super SU 2.79SR2 everything was fine.
4) Received OTA update through VPN for oxygen 4.0.1 (30mb), installed but unable start instead it was always going into twrp mode.
5) i changed twrp recovery back to 3021 and install stock oxygen 3.2.8,was working fine.
6) Now i wanted to UNROOT the device and back to stock so that i can get OTA Oxygen 4 and 4.0.1.
7) i followed steps below,
a) downloaded oxygen 3.2.1 and stock recovery.img
a) fastbootloader, and connect device.
b) fastboot devices
c) fastboot fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
d) fastboot oem lock - when i used this command and accept YES, screen got black and no further instruction for ADBsideload.
8) i used to restart the device in recovery but black screen, fastboot loader working.
FASTBOOT MODE
PRODUCT NAME - ....
VARIANT - MTP UFS
BOOTLOADER VERSION -
BASEBAND VERSION -
SERIAL NUMBER - .....
SECURE BOOT - enabled
DEVICE STATE - locked
9) and if i start the device in normal it asked for screen pattern lock but my existing unlock pattern doesnt work.
10) by using all the chance for screen pattern unlock it showed DECRYPTION UNSUCCESSFULL, clicked on RESET PHONE but again screen black in recovery mode.
11) NOW if i start my device it again shows DECRYPTION UNSUCCESSFULL and asking for RESET PHONE......
What to do now.....

Zahir

Device is back to stock, this method is used by One plus asstance for unbrick hard bricked device by remote control your PC. Then device is back to completly stock. No root no custom recovery etc. You Can now use OTA for update or using adb sideload or manually flash the entire ROM from sdcard. Thank you for appreciate :good:

just wanted to highlight the things you did that caused the issue
1- flashing the stock rom through twrp, it's possible specially with the latest TWR0-11 but not advisable, you better always flash stock recovery and then sideload rom (full rom not update) and then fast boot TWRP back and reflash root... any other method always causes issues...
2- the 30mg updates do not work on a rooted device
3- unrooting without immediately sideloading rom will always cause the black screen and loop to recovery, it's not required to unroot unless you want to go back to full stock experience...
4- this the biggest problem you made, you relocked the devices bootloader, you also did it while the device has a lot of issues (some mentioned above) so the device bricked instantly, if you are planning on unlocking the device again ...NEVER NEVER relock the device again , there's no need to do that , all you need to do to go back to a full stock experience is to wipe everything in TWRP , flash stock recovery then wipe everything again from there, then sideload full rom (latest stable version) , then for good majors in the new rom recovery wipe everything agian and boot to system and from system do a factory reset. then recharge your device to 100% and re encrypt it if it's not...after that you're 100% on a full stock exerience and will receive ota and it'll work... and at that state only (without root or TWRP) you can relock the bootloader (which is gain not necessary at all, there's no benefit to it)

Advice Needed Please.

Hi all, I have an honor 7x (obviously) BND-L21 running EMUI 5.1 and Android Nougat. I have used a guide (which i am sure was from here) to unlock my bootloader and root the phone using twrp a while ago.
I have now noticed there is an OTA update to EMUI 8 and Android Oreo.
My questions are these...
I have downloaded the OTA update and tried to install it only to be taken every time to TWRP. After reading up on this i can see this is obvious but none the less i cant update my phone via this method.
I have copied the files downloaded from the update, (namely update_data_full_public.zip, update_full_BND-L21c_hw_eu.zip and update.zip) to my SD card.
So... 1) can i just flash the above zips using twrp and then reroot again with twrp and be on the latest firmware.
2) if not this method then do i have to remove twrp and then update to then put twrp back on again and root etc.
3) if anyone knows what i should be doing to update without bricking my phone then i apologise but i havent seen the correct thread on this. (seen many indian variants or others i'm not sure are applicable to my device)
Thanks for anything you guys can help with..
You need stock recovery for emui update. Flash stock recovery update. Then flash twrp of you need to root
download multi tool 8 for honor 7x
connect it
go to recovery section
install stock recovery
then u can install oreo update

Question Updating to Android 13 while keeping bootloader unlock/TWRP/root

I have been digging through these forums, but can't find an straight step-by-step guide explaining how you go about manually updating the firmware on this device when you have the bootloader unlocked, TWRP installed, and rooted with Magisk.
I know that having the bootloader unlocked means that the device can no longer get updates automatically and that the updates have to be manually downloaded installed from the ASUS website. But what I don't understand is how to install the firmware from the ASUS website and still keep TWRP recovery and Magisk root.
This is my first time updating the device after I first set it up in January, so I would very much appreciate it if some one knowledgeable could explain this process to me
(In case you need to know, I'm currently on WW-32.2810.2212.241 firmware, with TWRP 3.70_12-0 and Magisk 25.2 installed.)

I think twrp will not work properly with android 13 because twrp is made for android 12
Dumper UL full upgrade and you will get Boot.img and recovery.img (keep both files at safe place).
Use magisk manager to patch the boot file.
Keep recovery.img (original A13) and TWRP.img safe in ADB root folder (dont mix them up).
1. Update FOTA to Android 13 by copy UL full upgrade into root folder of your phone. If copy from PC/laptop with cable then unplug the cable, your phone will recognize the package, (if you already change COUNTRY CODE and currently use WW 241 rom that will be success update). Otherwise, reboot your device and pop up will appear. Wait the phone is fully reboot and set up everything.
2. Reboot your phone into download mode/fastboot mode (it's better that you should enable USB debug/Developer mode before doing anything). Using CMD command to flash patched boot from Magisk Manager. And reboot, now your phone could gain back root.
3. Check again if the recovery is gone or not. If it's gone, then use termux or any terminal emulator for the "dd command".
You will gain back the TWRP, if any failed, flash back original recovery.img that you have lately in ADB folder on your PC.
PS: backup everything, since going back from Android 13 to Android 12 need to full factory reset.
