[Q]Help me to unlock LTE B4 on OP3 A3003 (Please) - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

Hi, this is my first post ^_____^
I live in Argentina, in a trip in Italy I bought that phone, because here in Argentina phones and all technological stuff is really really expansive, my OP3 here is worth 12000AR$ (750€)
My phone hasn't B4, the frecuancy used by all the providers here in Argentina, so i want to unlock it!
I've searched on xda tutorials about how to unlock LTE Bands on qualcomm chipsets but i have a problem
What I already did:
-Unlocked bootloader, root, installed TWRP Recovery
via the toolkit http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/development/toolkit-oneplus-3-toolkit-unlock-t3398799
-Installed QPST
-Installed QXDM
Enter in EngineerMode via the code *#801# and actived Rndis, diag switch
Now, OP3 isn't recognized by my pc in diagnostic mode, in device manager I can see that my pc shows it as "Android" with a yellow triangle in the right corner.
I followed this tutorial
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/how-to-add-rf-lte-frequency-bands-to-t2886059
Should I try with this one?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56577252&postcount=455
Should I install a custom kernel like this one?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/development/kernel-t3404970
Help me please xoxoxo, Axel

bump

I also need to unlock the band 4. (I'm in Argentina)
For now I think it's not possible. Read this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/help/unlocking-lte-bands-t3425871

I'm in the same situation here.... :| It's incredible. The bad luck I have is... one of a kind.

Guys,
I am trying to do the same thing for mi5 and I think I am close of achieving it. But I need the QCN of an OP3 in order to achieve this. Could you provide me one?
If this method works for mi5, I think could work for OP3. I explain it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=68989524&postcount=374
Basically it is what @Azlun did for the Nexus5 and Nexus 6.
Thanks

Need help to unlock bootloader and root my HTC one m8x

Hey guys i have an HTC one m8x Model: OP6B110, i dont know a lot about this cell phone, i had a Sony xperia z2 before. I need help to unlock bootloader and root the HTC in order to unlock aditional LTE bands. I cant navigate on LTE just 3g. Im running Android 6.0 and Sense 7, couldn't find any tutorial for this. Thanks in advantage.
Have had an m8x since launch and as far as I know the device is identical to the m8. So every guide for the m8 should work for the m8x

It should be noted that most guides are outdated at this point, and reference wrong versions TWRP (depends on Android build on the phone), SuperSU (recommend current stable 2.76) or mention firewater instead of sunshine s-off).
But otherwise, yes the process to unlock the bootloader, install TWRP and root the M8x is basically the same as the M8.
Vomer's guide, while dated, is still mostly relevant for what you want. You only need to do Section 0 and 1 in order to unlock bootloader and root:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/general/vomerguides-m8-bootldr-unlock-s-off-t2800727
I believe the only thing that is outdated in those section, is the TWRP version. You should use TWRP 3.0 from here: https://dl.twrp.me/m8/
And somewhat obvious, the command to flash TWRP will need to have the appropriate file name (with newer version number).
Don't follow guide Sections 2, etc. They aren't necessary to unlock bootloader and root, and the info is not longer accurate (firewater s-off no longer works).

Root by itself doesn't allow you to unlock the bands on this device.
The only working method I know of to change the band support, is to get s-off with sunshine ($25 US) and flash another radio baseband. Even then, a lot of folks have still failed to connect to their local carrier's LTE network, despite flashing the radio baseband with the proper LTE band support (or even full conversion by RUU). Not sure why this is happening, and haven't seen any solution, unfortunately. And due to this, it may not be worth spending the money on sunshine s-off, considering the risk of not getting the result you want.
My apologies, I didn't read your OP well enough to realize that unlocking LTE bands was the purpose for your rooting (just that you wanted to unlock bootloader and root). Otherwise, I would have advised this sooner.
Root is needed to perform sunshine s-off. But there is a lot more involved then just root, and you may or may not consider it worth the $ to try.
Yeah that was the main purpose of this topic... i have read a lot of guides but anything works for me, dunno whats wrogn bc theres ppl who could reach that goal to unlock some LTE bands. I really love this phone but im tired to have just 3g or 2g thats is pretty slow here. If theres a chance to unlock just this 2 bands: AWS(B4) y 700(B17) without spending money ill be the happiest man. Dunno if i did well rooting my device, tought it will help to my goal.
Hi All,
I also have HTC One m8 dual sim and want to root the device running Android 6.0. I tried step by step instructions provided in this guide however I can not proceed as I don't have fast boot option under settings\power. I am not a techi guy so not sure how to proceed further. Appreciate any advise or link to instruction for my version of device/Android.
Thanks

I can't speak to any of that, unless you refer to the specific mods/methods, etc.. Are those mods for this phone (M8) or some other phone entirely? If you are talking about the mod for modifying the NV values, as already stated, this only work on the Verizon and Sprint versions of the M8 (versions that support CDMA networks). On all other versions, the NV values are locked, and will return to default upon reboot.
If you are talking about mods for other phones entirely, those methods don't apply to the M8. Every phone has its own peculiarities and nuances.

You need s-off to modify the radio baseband, that's the plain truth. And you need to spend money ($25 by sunshine) to get s-off.
One thing you can check, is look on the bootloader screen and see if its s-on or s-off; in the unlikely event that its already s-off (a small number come s-off from the factory, some will have been modified by a former owner or seller).

Error Code: Secure boot 1002 - What should I do? Please help

Dear XDA community
I recently bought a LG G4 from an online retailer. According to their website they said it was a UK model, which according to the back of the phone beneath the battery it is: LGH815. But then after booting the phone the ROM being used was: LGH815T. Then I typed in the IMEI number and found out it was a: Verizon US model??
Basically I am having trouble identifying my model. The phone apparently came unlocked and rooted, but the person who sent it must have done something wrong because when I flashed a TWRP recovery image to the phone it comes up saying: secure boot error code: 1002.
The good thing is, is that I can boot into the device and still operate it as per usual. But what I want to do is bring the recovery back to normal. I was searching around and apparently there are some KDZ files that can be used just to flash the recovery? Is this correct? If so could you assist me in what I have to do to fix my issue which is: secure boot error 1002.
I would really appreciate any help regarding the matter. :crying:
Tried posting photos, but forum would not let me, all they showed was the model numbers.

Use LGUP-NEW ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/lgup-install-kdz-mm-lp-t3249803 ) to install/flash ... the appropriate stock KDZ for your specific model once you ascertain it (LGUP - NEW may recognize your model and you can use that info to find the right KDZ). You will have to re-root the phone if you still wish to have root.
If you do root, suggest you might want to check out steadfasterX's [LOCKED][G4][TWRP][UNOFFICIAL] TWRP-in-FIsH for all locked G4 devices at: https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/development/locked-twrpinfish-locked-g4-devices-t3573048
It has been tested on locked devices AND unlocked devices. Version 3 Beta 4 and 5 seem very stable and the links are available in the later posts on the site. It works like a charm and has been tested on a quite a number of devices now.
Addendum: I'm wondering if the online retailer may have meant it was carrier unlocked (i.e., so you could use other service provider's sim cards), not bootloader unlocked? That could account for the secure boot error getting TWRP to load.

LG G4 H815 running MM with Anti-rollback version 4 !!!!!!!

Helle everyone, I recently purchased an LG G4 H815 running MM from eBay, it is supposed to be INTERNATIONAL VERSION, but I had noticed first that Android PAY does not work (when I try to launch the app it does not let me in and says that I am running a custom ROM or I have a rooted phone or unlocked bootloader) which none I personally did. Then I tried to verify my anti-rollback version because I couldn't update to Nougat, the HIDDEN MENU code supposed to work for my model H815 didn't work, but instead, the code related to the American versions (ATT and T-Mo) WORKED, AND MY DEVICE HAS anti-rollback version = 4 !!!! as far as I know, the most recent one is 3, how is that even possible??? (see Pictures for more infos)
( Unfortunately I couldn't figure out a way to upload pictures here so here is a link to Imgur)

Thanks for any further help or infos.

There are many Frankenstein devices out there.. One thing is 100%: you have a refurbished device. So it's definitively NOT a pure h815.
H815 devices have no ARB!
Please make a backup of your device with SALT ( https://bit.do/SALTatXDA ) - basic is fine. And share the resulting files i.e. via Google drive.
Having that backup is crucial important regardless. And I want to take a look into your bootloader stack to find out which one is installed.

Thanks for the reply man, i really appreciate it.
1/ Yes it is a refurbished device
2/ I think it is Sprint version LS991 (according to the ABR - Sprint is the only version that has version 4)
3/ I checked the IMEI online and it confirms that it is a SPRINT device
3/ I found online that there is some CUSTOM ROMs that "converts" literally any version to H815 (mine shows 4g LTE logo when I am using ONLY 3G WCDMA in settings)
How to retreive the bootloader stack info in order to share it here for you to take a look ?
I am now trying to install SALT in LINUX - I will keep you up-to-date

Pls paste the SALT debug log in advanced menu as well. It's enough directly when started SALT with the device connected.
Many thx
Nvm got it. The important stuff is in your screenshot.
You have a converted device. Meaning you have the ls991 bootloader stack plus the h815 system. This is possible but more interesting would be: is your SIM working? Do you get mobile Internet? 3g,4g?

Many thanks for reply, yes everything works fine (Android Pay does not work), DATA works fine BUT even using ONLY GSM/3G WCDMA (no LTE) in the settings, I always see the 4g LTE logo when using DATA, I think they somehow changed/ replaced the 3g data logo in the status bar with 4g LTE logo, in order to make the user believe the device is compatible with his LTE carrier frequency (which is not correct of course)
This SPRINT device does not support LTE in the country I am using it in (Czech Republic), I verified it with the help of willlmyphonework.com website.
This is really so disgusting and unfaithful behaviour from SOME Chinese sellers on eBay, the SPRINT version is the cheapest one, so in order to RIP off customers, they CONVERT these models to H815 in order to sell them for more, and not everyone would have the knowledge to dig deep into the device info in order to verify the legitimacy of their product specs, this is sad...
Anyway, what should I do now which this devise? how can I at least install Nougat or have the OFFICIAL firmware without breaking the device??
Thanks for your time and precious information

Well.. We don't know if it is a ls991 or a h815 or a complete other device. The only way to say this for sure is to open the device and looking on the mainboard(!). But regardless you have a fusing device now and so you cannot install a h815 bootloader stack anymore. Say thx to ARB ( https://bit.do/antirollg4 ) which can hard brick your device.
It SEEMS that you can boot h815 ROMs but if you try to replace the bootloader stack coming with the N zip or the TOT (which you can find here on XDA) it will hard brick.
Interesting is that h815 is able to boot. It MAY be possible to boot N by just replacing modem, system and boot partition though. That depends on your bootloader stack.
Try to boot into fastboot from android:
adb reboot bootloader
You should see the fastboot screen. Could you make a photo of that? We MAY have luck and its a special one.

Well no. Some firmwares do not allow to boot into fastboot that's not that unlikely.
So what I can say is that you have a ls991 bootloader stack with a h815 system so it MAY be possible to install nougat but not yet. I will integrate flashing partitions to SALT soon. Until then you have to wait.

read the SALT thread. I provide changelogs for every release.
flashing is possible even now in a beta state. waiting on IRC (read the SALT thread - OP) is the only way if you want to participate on the beta test.

It seems it's H815 with AT&T Software with anti rollback v3. Adb reboot bootloader just restarts the phone, I tried to enter bootloader by keys combination. It enters firmware update mode.
I think due to v3 rollback I cannot do anything with this phone, am I right?

Correct (axcording to my experience). I had the same issue with my previous phone. It turned out to be a ls991 with H815 software.
The only way to know your Hardware is to take a look inside the phone , you will find it printed on the motherboard.

How to use tools for IMEI repair of Oneplus Nord N100

Hello,
I am not much of a professional but have basic knowledge about variety of things. Recently I got a Oneplus Nord N100 phone which had same IMEI on both slots and those were different from the one on the phone box. I went through google and found that we can do it with tools such as UMT, Hydra Tool etc. So i downloaded them but when i open I get Smartbox not installed and dongle not connected like errors. I searched for the answers but couldn't get any.
Currently the phone has
Android:10.5.8 (Rooted with Magisk).
I cannot use my sim because of the same IMEI which is invalid. I want to know how i can use these tools and how I can fix such errors which are arising when i open these tools. I am really broke and there is no chance i am changing my phone anytime soon. Phone has OEM and bootloader unlocked too with TWRP recovery installed.
Kindly help me out on this one.
Thanks

Hello,
I am not much of a professional but have basic knowledge about variety of things.

UMT, Hydra Tool need a dongle which you need to purchase from the reseller. Usually Mobile service technicians buy these boxes and they are expensive to use on a single phone. Ask a nearby mobile service center for the solution.

LG G4 Anti-rollback what can i do?

I want to root an LG g4, the bootloader and/or recovery seem to be missing from the device. Purchased used off ebay. Is the LG LS991 [H811] Model (Sprint) (also seller claimed its unlocked and that seems to be so when i tested my sim). I can only get the phone into download mode, so when i check it with SALT I see the antirollback says "40". I heard the term frankenstine device thrown around before. IS it even possible to root this phone anymore? IS it possible to get access to the bootloader? I feel like i've been walking around in the dark for a while. I would greatly appreciate any advice

Hi, I've got a similar issue. US991 bought new 2017 from LG via newegg. Advertised unlocked, assumed that just meant carrier unlocked, which it is, but also has OEM unlock flag in developer options. LGMENU shows ARB=2 but SALT stable shows ARB=20 so won't flash USU. SALT develop mode shows ARB=2.
Do I USU from develop mode? Does this one need USU (have never tried to flash TWRP or root or anything. Any help/guidance is welcome. the MM LG pushed to it in 2017 doesn't have firmware support for VOLTE which i was hoping to get by flashing a new ROM since i have have no calling since the AT&T 3G shutdowm.

only H811 does NOT need UsU. The h815 can be unlocked as well but only when you have the unlock bin already as the LG website closed. so: yes you need UsU.
yes keep SALT on develop and flash UsU there. The good thing is that FAQ #1 applies to your device so you could even go back if something is not working as you want it.
Thanks for your help steadfasterX.
US991_UsU_unlock.zip in develop mode worked great.
twrp-3.5.2_9-PREVIEW-275_g4.img worked great.
however, i have a new issue. when i flashed US991_UsU_baseband_flash-in-twrp.zip my SIM is no longer recognized; mobile data can't be enabled, says connection not allowed so can't add an APN. LGMENU shows normal APNs (ATTPHONE, NEXTGENPHONE, etc are gone). has a couple prepay APNs listed that i don't recognize and can't edit thru LGMENU. SALT GPT is H811 which i thought was just for the ROMs. do i need to actually flash H811 basebands? or just flash one of your H811 ROMs like lineage 18.1? not sure how to fix this. again, any help/guidance is much appreciated.

well there are 2 problems here:
1. not many us991 users here so less user feedback
2. usually no one wants to stay stock so less user feedback
the main problem is that the baseband files are incompatible with your bootloader stack (hopefully its just that). a fix for that would be creating a new baseband flash file from your modem partition. pls provide it from your backup BEFORE using UsU and I can take a look
