good one bro

Wow. Can't wait to get that if still available. My phone arrives on Tuesday.

Moto z best phone made my opinion

Um, this is great and all... so what happens after 2 years and you uploaded a ton of photos and take up like a few terabytes? I don't really see anyone that would actually go for the full resolution unless they're really serious into their photography. RAWs and JPEGs can get really big, so a few terabytes of photos is not to unrealistic, right? So, would Google then prompt you to pay like 10 bucks a month for Google Drive to store your photos?

A few months I ago I switched my Googled Photos from "original" to "high quality (free)" - and Google Photos re-compressed the photos. In two years you will have option of doing this.

What happens after the 2 years? LOL.. These are just gimmicks really.. if you don't want to pay for additional storage now, you wouldn't wanna pay 2 years later.. because you will have to after you've used the storage and the only options would be to pay or have your photos compressed again.

It takes you 1 minute to resize ALLL pictures you have to the unlimited size, really easy and fast, do not worry; I did it, search in options on google photos in your computer, it is reallllyyyyyy easy

This is a good news

Anyone know what 'high quality' means? What kind of quality loss can one expect over 'original?'

Is this only for the verizon's droid version of the moto z?

Dropbox - Was it a con? (love my new phone btw)

So following the support pages on Dropbox and HTC, I have performed every linking, unlinking, reinstalling computer app and Getting Started steps, (ALL SEVEN) spent literally hours and still no 23gb
Really disapointed that Dropbox/HTC could con us into thinking we would get 23GB - and from the forums I am not alone
Support is none existant. No one bothers replying to emails from support, I am just wondering does anyone else have any Voodoo
On a brighter note, i love my one x. battery is immense:

its a beautiful phone, incredibly responsive and the camera is amazing.
The only thing i can't do is attach it to my Router (its an old one and says mac code is invalid) think its the age of the router more than anything!
Anyway, if anyone else has a way of getting me my 23gb on Dropbox i would be incredibly grateful! Thanks
I use Box and much prefer the interface.
Got in before the 50gb lifetime accounts expired so i didn't even bother with dropbox.

Have you done the startup tour in Dropbox? https://www.dropbox.com/login?cont=https://www.dropbox.com/gs
It's called the Getting Started Tour and rewards 250MB after you complete. I remember my phone telling me that I need to complete that to get the HTC free space.
It should auto link as it worked for mine. I now have 40+GB
I completed only 5 of the 7 things I think and it it sent me an email for being a dropbox guru, also saying thanks for supercharging your HTC device with Dropbox (maybe you have to go back in to Dropbox once you've uploaded?). Then it just says you've been awarded 23gb.
Same here, I got the phone on launch day and done 6 out of the 7 tasks on Dropbox webpage, still have not got the extra 23gb.
Not really a big deal for me since the extra storage is only for 2 yrs and I already have 7gb with dropbox. Beside now both Microsoft (7gb free) and Google (25gb $5/year from old upgrade) have better deals, I'm going to use dropbox less and less.
[/URL]
I have actioned the getting started page several times, watched the video on both mobile and computer, i have logged in and out on computer and device and nothing.
As i say, i think it was just a con to get you buy the phone, the fact that dropbox and htc aren't responding to support questions just exasperates this for me
"You've earned 23gb"
"You can now store up to 7.25gb..."
....huh???
I can't post pics as I am a new member but I've only done 5 of 7 and mine says
"You've earned 23gb"
"You can now store up to 25.75gb..."
Yeah mine says this... Not sure why yours isn't working.
it tells you that you have earned 23gb, this along with the standard 2gb that dropbox give makes 25gb.................what are you expecting?
This is what i did to get my 23gb.
1. Logged in to Dropbox via the app on my phone
2. Logged in to dropbox on my computer and went to the getting started page
3. Watched the demo and all completed all the other remaining tasks
4. Logged out and back in, i got the message i had 23gb extra
same here. It took a few days before mine showed up, but it got there in the end.

How can it be a con if the majority of people receive the 23 GB...
Yes, confusing isn't it
I have earned 23gb, but only have 7gb
Im not making it up!
I have tried all other things (the camera uploading tricks).
I gave gone through getting started (on the phone as well).
I am at a loss other thinking this is a ruse to sell phones or there is a fault.
Its frustrating as I wanted to back up my itunes!
I got my 23gb with no probs at all, just followed the onscreen instructions.

Wouldn't really consider this a con, seen it's an 'extra feature'. Your situation seems unique, and I think by contacting Dropbox they wouldn't be that resisting to help you out..

Well I just received my Smartwatch 3, pics and comparisons inside! GPS My Tracks etc.

Just a quick update, ive now had this watch on for nearly 24 hours and after heavy use its at 54% battery remaining! this is much better than what i was expecting. This included transferring 100 songs over wireless, heavy "ok google" usage, 4 miles running with the built in step counter, general messing around. love it!!
The Watch took 20 mins to charge from 54% to 100% as well!
That is excelleny
Can you check the notification for new SMS.: I just get a '1 new message' pop-up window. There does not appear to be a way to read the message details. thanks
Yep I checked it, you swipe up to read the message, then you can swipe right to left to read the message thread, then again to reply by voice or prefixed message etc. It doesnt say when the message was received though.

Just some comparison pics of the smartwatch 2 vs 3. Ill be keeping the Smartwatch 2 for best as the metal strap makes it look way better. I hope Sony will sell the rumoured metal strap for smartwatch 3 seperately....I kind of like the Sony logo on the smartwatch 2 as well.

heating issue lot in this mobile?

'System' taking up 11GB - is this normal?

I thought it just might be a problem with my particular install but in order to receive the 8.1 update I've factory reset my phone and this 'System' category under Settings, Storage (labeled as 'system includes files required to run Android 8.1) is still solidly stuck at 11GB. This seems excessive to me, and certainly my Nokia 3 on 8.1 didn't have anything close to 11GB of space taken up in the System folder. I would have had no space for anything!
Does anyone else have the same issue? Or is it even an issue at all?
Thanks
We all have this "issue", it is too much.

me too !!! 12GB :crying:
I was thinking about something.
As on Pixel devices we have 2 systems, A/B boot, or how it is called.
So we use one, e.g. A and OTA update runs on the background on B, when the device is restarted it runs from B and next update is installed on A.
So, everything is doubled and it looks like our system has about 5-6GB, but on Pixels it is much less, if HMD/Nokia didn't fukeed something.

Very odd normally system os 6GB or less especially when firmware files are only like 1.2gb to download unless highly compressed or for some reason it's saving all the update files as well as the actual Rom , maybe worth contacting support for an answer

Weird, we don't have Android Go, we have Android One, Go should be even lighter
I thing the support on live chat is not so good, I also asked them about accessories and the answer was so bad, "we have no information about it, please see our web", what I already did and said it in my question, so I ended our conversation with "OK, this is not helpful"
Also I'm following the Nokia support forum, but I didn't see any response from them there, only from users.

Its 13 GB here. This totally sucks.
If this is an Android One 'feature' then it makes 32GB Android One devices equivalent to 16GB devices of the past. It's quite annoying to me as I have barely anything on my phone and only have about 8GB free. Apps like iPlayer don't support SD cards for caching and there's no adopted storage option on Android anymore.

No, that's not about Android One. A/B (Seamless) System Updates were introduced with Android 7.0 and are kinda optional for the OEM. The aim was to make system update process seamless for the user, but personally I would rather wait for 10-20 minutes for my phone to update instead of just restarting it and wasting twice as more space for the system.
Sorry for the off topic guys, can you kindly confirm if then Nokia 6.1 supports the seamless update with A/B system partitions?
Thank you!

There's still hope - screen replacements!
Heard the Pixel 6 Pro is repairable. However, you have to enroll the fingerprint scanner which is easy with Google's tool.
True Google quoted about 240 to repair 189.99 plus vat I'm just using a HTC u11+ atm
You have two numbers in the bottom of your screenshot you might want to blur those out.
Sorry to see your pixel die, yes screen replacement is possible but to be honest, you can be refurbs for like £300 last time i checked.
probably cheaper on marketplace, so a replacement sounds sadly more economical. (as replacements also carries the risk of being done improperly/with substandard parts/ etc. etc.
