About good responsiveness and remaining things of cm-13.0-20160813-UNOFFICIAL-aceopt - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Yesterday night I updated cm-13.0-20160812-UNOFFICIAL-aceopt to cm-13.0-20160813-UNOFFICIAL-aceopt throught (unofficial) TWRP 2.8.7.0 for ace, and realized that is was impreoved much more than prior builds.
While Rebooting system it took remarkably shorter time to optimize apps, annoying warning about SIM card which I have been seeing till 20160812 build disapperared, etc. Thank you very much.
But, 'Wi-Fil region code' problem still exists, and I shoud manually reconfigure it from any region to 'United States' in advanced settings of Wi-Fi. The problem arises not only in case of rebooting system after flashing, but also rebooting normally booted state and in case of chaing channels in Wi-Fi router. As I said this previously, it does not occur in cm-12.1-20160807-UNOFFICIAL or prior builds.
Lastly, though I don't know whether CVE-2016-2504(one of four Quadrooter vulnerabilities) is irrelevant with Desire HD or not, the patch about it was not applied to Desire HD. While checking Quadrooter vulnerabilities in both Nexus 5 and Desire HD(the android security patch level of both devices is the same 'Augh 5, 2016') with Quadrooter scanner from Check Point, Nexus 5 reveals that only CVE-2016-5340 remains, but Desire HD reveals one more vulnerable place - i.e., CVE-2016-2504. Is this a false positive?

time to optimize 19 apps while reboot after flashing 20160814 build
This is just FYI.
It took about 14 minutes to optimize 19 apps right after flashing cm-13.0-20160814-UNOFFICIAL-aceopt, which is super fast compared to 2~3 hours of early cm-13.0(ace, aceopt) builds. ^^

[Q] RCMix S 1.4, WiFi & Battery Drain Issues

Hi, Android folks !
I just bought HTC Desire (seems like branded/locked by our local operator), rooted with Unrevoked, formatted 32GB SD card 1GB Ext3 + FAT (on SuSE Linux), and installed RC Mix S V1.4 (RCMixS_v1.4_A2SD+_BravoHboot).
System is very fast and stable, however, I have two major issues which render this phone almost unusable.
1) WiFi is not able to connect to any router, even located few meters next to me. Looks like WiFi doesn't work at all. I installed Blade WiFi Fixer, it didn't helped. Another "Fixer" also did nothing.
2) Battery drain is enormously HUGE. Quite interesting - during idle time battery drain is on acceptable level. For example, during night battery level dropped 10%. However, calling wipes out battery almost instantly. Just several phone calls (may be 15 - 20 min total) dropped battery level from 97% to 30%!
3) Ad-hoc network are not visible at all. Is this trick will make them work?
/system/etc/wifi/tiwlan.ini
WiFiAdhoc = 1
dot11DesiredSSID = HTCG1Default
dot11DesiredBSSType = 0
Before installing RCMix 1.4, I did factory reset, wiped out cache partition and Dalvik cache. I did not made GoldCard, however, and from the posts seen on this forum looks like it is not necessary.
PS. Before RCMix, I tried LeeDroiD 3.06. In spite of flashing zipalign first (before flashing LeeDroiD ROM), it bricked my phone - nothing happened beyond HTC screen.
Anyone can suggest me what to do next?
Well firstly, RCMix S is Sense and Sense is a battery drain. Secondly, change the wifi channel to auto on your router.
Firstly Sense is NOT a battery drain. I've lost 6% on idle in the last 8 hours on RCMix 1.5. That's on par with what I was getting with Oxygen.
Can you post what radio you have, as Gingerbread based ROM's seem to prefer the latest two, I believe they are optimised/tweaked to work better (most recent being 5.17.05.23)

Thanks for suggestion, Cactus42 !
I have Baseband 32.49.0032U_5.11.05.27
Kernel 2.6.35.10-g308ba26
Do you suggest to download the (32.54.00.32U_5.14.05.17) one from?

It was set so from the beginning.
I have upgraded to baseband radio 32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.23 as Cactus42 suggested.
There definitely one big improvement - I'm was able to connect to our WiFi (it wasn't possible at all before upgrade).
Unfortunately, one big issue remaining - connection to WiFi isn't stable, it dropping for no apparent reason in spite of very good signal level (iPhone works with the same WiFi without any problems at much larger distance). In Android settings WiFi sleep is set to 15 min.
Another problem - HTC launcher always crashes at startup, and after some time re-launches and everything seem to be OK. I don' use animated (live) wallpepers, just stock black colored picture.
Is anything else I'm being missing ?
Thanks in advance for any suggestion(s).

If you're on RCMix 1.4 (I'm on 1.5 so slightly different set of problems) you can flash the RIL for the 5.17.05.23 radio:
http://www.multiupload.com/YXBZO2UH3R
Note - it contains the Adreno200 drivers we're using on RCMix 1.5 but as 1.4 already has them reflashing won't make a difference, also RIL's have been known to break the phone signal after screen lock, if that happens you'd need to reflash the ROM over the top again. The reason I've put this one up is because it's the only RIL I've ever had work and am using it now.
This was created by Baadnewz for InsertCoin, not me. I'im just re-uploading it as it's gone from his site.
This patch from LeeDroid forum - "Alternate WPA Supplicant - enable Ad-Hoc" (wpa_adhoc-signed.zip) - can it be flashed with RCMix S ?
RCMix S 1.5 Issues
I am sorry to use this thread but i also have some issues on the RCMix 1.5
- The first time i launch one app (ex: gallery, music, etc). This app close automatically, the second time works!
- The Locker rarely appear, i can just see my wallpaper and the drag bar. (After trying several times it works)
- If i try to create a mms, nothing appears to send, and when i try to send i get: ''messages stops.....force close..".
*Sorry my VERY BAD English, i am Portuguese and only comfortable reading, not writing.

Massive performance issues

Hi there,
I am a (almost) happy owner of a pixel c,
but the device has massive performance issues since the last couple of weeks.
A typical geekbench 4 result should be around ~1400 single core / 3000 multi core,
my device shows 800 single core / 1700 multi core and is extremely lagging with almost anything.
Opening chrome for example needs 10-15s depending on the last visted site.
Therefore I decided to flash the latest office rom and cleanup the device. The first try was to only factory reset it, skip the whole setup procedure and make a new benchmark: Same result. Next step was to factory reset it, unlock the bootloader, flash the newest rom from google, twice (!!), relock the bootloader, startup - factory reset, and setup. After this procedure: Same result :-/
Is there anybody having the same issues? Am I missing something?
Happy for any advice, the device is nearly unusable in this state..
Cheers
It sometime takes a little while after installing ROM or resetting the device for it to optimize itself and the apps. I now the new Geekbench 4 scores differently now on all devices. Also, have you tried to wipe system cache in recovery mode? Grasping at straws but worth a shot.
I'm having these same issues as well. My 64GB went from lightning fast to slower than the worst throwaway android tablet I've owned, literally over the course of two days.
I can second the exaggerated lag, in everything from launching any app, scrolling, and also the boot process. Last night, it went from about 20% charge to 0% in less than 10 minutes because of a boot loop I've never seen before. It was showing the broken android avatar with the text "no command" on the screen. Once it died, I let it chill for a few minutes before plugging it in. It did boot "normally," but it was and still is experiencing the crazy lag issues.
Weird stuff, but most likely not a coincidence considering both the similarity of the issues and the timeframe.

System_Server (Android OS) High CPU and Lag

Model: Galaxy Note 4
Android: 6.01
Rooted: No
My phone once again is almost impossible to use due to constant lag and slowness. After using one of many apps to identify what was consuming all my CPU I discovered it was the Android OS process and then I drilled down using top command (Elixir 2 app) to identify sub-process system_server. The system_server process was constantly utilizing >40% CPU and when this is coupled with user processes, my CPU was pegged in the 95-100% all the time. This made my phone just about impossible to use.
I encountered this issue approx. 3mo ago and I tried everything to resolve, but ended up doing a factory reset to resolve it. after the same thing a few months ago. Doing a factory reset was the only resolution unfortunately at the time. Now that it the issue has returned, I have tried just about everything to fix it without doing a factory reset, here are some of the trouble-shooting:
Toggled bluetooth on/off
Disabled improve location accuracy options for both BT and WiFi
Removed and re-added my 2 Google accounts
Disabled Google account sync of Gmail, and selective options.
Toggled from Global/GSM to LTE mobile network mode
What did clear the system_server CPU usage issue was putting my phone in Airplane Mode. All this tells me it is radio related....
My phone has been extremely slow and hanging as a result the past three days to a point where it was FRUSTRATING the hell out me, at one point I almost threw it!!! After searching high and low on the web, I couldn't deal with it any long----so I too the plunge and performed another factory reset---which fixed the problem. Since this was the second time in 4 months, I'd like help identifying what is causing this to avoid it in the future.
Thank you in advance everyone!
Bump; 24 views and no replies yet.... I cannot be the only one who experienced this issue. Can we start a dialog on possible causes and fixes other than a full factory reset?
Thank you in advance,
i have the same issue just installed https://forum.xda-developers.com/no...-noble-rom-t3392289/post68300761#post68300761 and system_server consumes ~15% along with zygote ~6%. did you resolve problem?

I can see why you arrived at that conclusion but I'd caution a second look . I think its your wakelocks bud which is radio connected . until I disabled the lame google one my phone would get ridiculously hot and I mean physically hot as in to the touch turns out my problem was all the damn services the play store is attempting to use. It$ rediculous 1 app has twice almost 3 times as many service request as the rest of the phone . makes me wish play games was Foss compatible so bad I threw in on the bounty for it. But yeah try a wakelock sheriff specifically on play services and its stupid 22 (I think was what mine was) connected services and see if that helps
We are watching you
It looks like removing the screen pattern/password stops bumping system_server +110%, and it runs ≃ 1% CPU and 6% RAM.
Accordingly, CPU frequency is also lower. (1,4GHZ to 1Ghz).

Battery drain

Hi All,
I'm an happy user of my xa1 g3112 updated with last version Android 7 40.0A.6.175
I suppose after the last update a bug has been triggered and now I'm suffering a battery drain issue
Bluetooth is continuosly eating battery in the listed application is always on top or second place
This is happening despite no devices are connetced
So far that's the list of attempt I've done to fix the issue wihtout luck:
- Reboot in safe mode
- delete all the devices paired
- restore app permission
- Disabled bluetooth scanning
- enable stamina
- as last flag bluetooth processes as not optimized
Anyone has the same exerience, any fix thanks
Stefano

Hi
You've only to reset your device. You installed an app that drains battery in the background or you've enabled something wrong.
As last chance before resetting cancel the data of Bluetooth on applications settings:highfive:
Wish could be helpful

I have the same problem,
same build but it seems to me that the problem existed before the last update, the bluetooth was used in pairing with the car to play only music.
Are there any solutions?

I've bought the smartphone in September 2017 and I didn't had the feeling I had this issue at the beginning.
Is the problem triggered by an update? Or it's present also with stock rom?
Have you the dual or single sim version?
That's really a pain the solution could be wait for oreo or rollback to the factory rom.

Dual sim version
I bought it in December and I updated it as soon as it was turned on. the problem has always been there for me
Tried to restore factory setting, issue still present after 4 hours 120 mAh used by bluetooth without any paired device, any advice on how to move forward?
Any foreccast on OREO update? this could be the only one fix
Xperia XA1 big battery drain in standby after Android v8 Feb 2019 security updates
Confirm that ever since I received Nov 2018, and then Feb 2019 Android v8 security patch updates, in late Feb 2019. I have been experiencing significant extra battery drain with my Dual SIM Xperia XA1 whenever Bluetooth is enabled.
Currently I'm experiencing this on 48.1.A.2.101 (Android 8.0.0 with 5 February 2019 security patch), but believe the issue started with 48.1.A.2.73 (8.0.0 with 5 November 2018 security patch which I personally received & installed on 26th Feb 2019, Feb security patch then became available shortly after)
Has taken me a while (& I used https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gsamlabs.bbm) to track down that I don't believe it's any new or misbehaving apps. And like others here I initially wondered if Bluetooth background scanning (Changed via Settings > Lock screen & security > Location > Scanning) could have been the culprit, but no that's not made a significant difference.
At the moment the only workaround I've found is manually turning on/off Bluetooth from quick actions, but before Feb updates my Xperia had excellent all day battery when in light use, frequently being at 40%+ at end of the day, now with battery drain issue I'm lucky to make 30% by 6pm, often worse!
See attached for screenshot from GSam battery monitor when I was only lightly using my phone, but only switched off Bluetooth between approx 10.30am-1pm today and the slope of battery drain is substantially different!
(I have just recently asked if the developers of that app can add a Bluetooth On/Off orange bar overlay to that graph which would makes things much more definitive to track)

Huge battery drain on Nougat 7.1.2/Resurrection Remic 5.8.5-20171119 final

I've been using Resurrection Remix ROM for quite a while now (almost 2 years), I installed version from the subject (Nougat 7.1.2/Resurrection Remic 5.8.5-20171119) in November 2017 and everything was working great (including amazing battery life - by the end of the day with regular phone usage I was still getting 60-70% left; I don't use phone much). Around February something happened and all of the sudden my battery life went to very crappy in the late afternoon I was hitting 25% mark without doing much on my phone (it basically was laying on the desk most of the time, as usual). I haven't installed anything new, and couldn't figure out what may be draining the battery using regular methods (system information, Gsam battery stats, wakelock detector, better battery stats, etc…).
I started to eliminate the applications (freeze in Titanium Backup, this should do the job - right?) at first one-by-one and then in groups (to speed up process) until I got into the apps updated in January (so before the weirdness started). I've disabled almost all applications and yet the problem still persists. Now the two majors offenders (besides system) are Play *Store* (not services) and Multimedia (so access to storage).
I'm really baffled what's going on and I don't have much left to disable. Here are the screenshots from the system battery widget and Gsam. It shows that *wakelock* and *alarm* are using a lot of time, but it shows *(0)* as the count so... what the heck?!
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/z1wz5p8bbgtv3qm/AAB9f1Qn3bD0MLwGjuMIOAQya?dl=0
I haven't found anything in the catalogue (any errors popping up all the time) and there are two most popular entries:
* "setting airplane_mode_on has moved from android.provider.Settings.System to android.provider.Settings.Globa, returning read-only value" -- haven't found a source of this
* QCOM PowerHal- Failed to acquire lock ("not a bug" judging from the bugtrack)
The weird thing is - when I enable battery saving mode everything seems to go back to normal (virtually no battery drain/usage) and by the end of the day I still have 80-85% (and I'm on the verge of forcing constant power saver mode! but it's got rest every time I plug in my phone so it's not a solution neither).
Any suggestion what to check further? What could cause this?
(Yes, I've cleared the cache and Dalvik cache as well).
Try updating to oreo!?
How would that solve anything? Especially that the exact same setup was working without a hitch for a long time (more than half year). Also - Oreo flavoured Resurrection Remix still has it's own issues (for example lack of fast charing, which combined with draining battery would be terrible mix)…
Time to update Oreo.
No it's not. And the suggestions are on par on repairing windows by doing abysmal "format c:" which in 99% is sheer nonsense.
Bottomline - I'm looking for help in therms of analysing data and fixing the problem at hand, and no - Oreo is not the solution so kindly please stop suggesting it.
