No Notification Banner which pops up on top of the screen - Note 7 Questions & Answers

I just got the dual sim model. Doesn't this phone have notification banners?? When i am using an app and if i receive a notification from another app I get a sound/vibration notification and an icon on the status bar, but no banner appears on top of the screen for few seconds and goes away. I have ticked all the notification boxes in settings. Is this feature not there on Samsung phones? Could someone please advice before me selling the phone, its a huge feature for me, I mean for me.

One the Note5 you set where and when notifications appear in settings.

It should apear only if you status bar is hidden... games and so on.

It doesn't appear in any case. Did anyone else have this issue.

There is an option called allow peeking in the notification settings on my V10, that's missing on the Note 7

Following this one, I am switching from an iPhone and really like the way notifications work. Hopefully it does the same on the Note 7

This feature is missing on the Note 7. There is no peeking/heads up notification on the Note 7. I tried everything, now returned the phone.

I'm willing to bet you it's there. This is from my Note5. I'll check my Note7 when it comes tomorrow.

Hi, yes but I do not get the pop up notifications when I'm using an app. There is an option called apps that appear on top in app permissions, most of the apps are greyed out there. Possibly because of this? Please let me know a way out if possible. I loved the phone.

Yes its there in settings when you go to the messaging app. Mine pops up over the top of other apps no issues.

What about notifications from other app, like FB, whatsapp, and score updates. Does it pop over the top of other apps?

Try heads up notification on Google play store. It's a 3rd party app but works well.

[REQ] NavBar Mod

Hi devs.
This might be an extra thread so if it is, I apologize and it can be locked. I've searched for one but couldn't find.
I've been getting used to using the stock browser rather than what Google called chrome.
On it is a lab feature for quick control like illustrated below.
Is there any similar or possible mod for NavBar to appear this way through out Android system on Nexus 4?

Although this doesn't make the phone fill screen, I bet you can get a ROM that takes navigation bar out.
Also follow the installation instruction provided on the link!

AOKP has a feature called "Expanded Desktop" which can be toggled through the power menu that allows the NavBar to be hidden.
Check that out.
There's also Button Savior which can be hidden until you want them back. I like them.

Its actually on my CM10.1 as well. I just wished there was a sort of gesture to the CM version. Instead of pushing the power button for expanded screen.
Hopefully someday.

On paranoidandroid, in beta 8 and beyond there's a setting that lets you reduce the navigation bar to 0%, which gets rid of the navigation bar but still keeps the status bar.
I've been using my nexus like this with LMT, and it works perfectly, with the extra 80 something pixels from navigation bar. it looks really nice.
There is an app. it is called hidebar
www.ppareit.github.com/HideBar
it stays in the notifs and when you tap it it removes the buttons until you touch either the top or bottom of the screen which brings them back.
have fun

[Q] Is there a way to"force" the notification bar to remain displayed?

This is one thing I miss about my old note-the ability to see the time, etc while inside any app. I've looked through the settings but did not see anything. Is it possible to have the notification bar always available?

Is there no way to force the status bar to show no matter the app that is running? I miss the time being displayed and being able to quickly/easily see what message just came through.
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
Install "app settings"in Xposed and you can set your preference for every app.You need root for this.

Must be a touchwiz thing. I installed Nova Launcher when I first got the tablet so not sure but my notification bar is always displayed.

I use nova. Maybe it is a setting from Within nova but when in an app like plants vs zombies 2, I hear a notification but cannot see anything. I also don't see the clock.

If I remember correctly you should be able to do this in Nova without root. Go to the settings and dig a little.

lol my guess is he's coming from the G2 which had different themes and it seems they've removed it for the G3. The only reason I noticed is my fiancee had some bubbly cloud theme going and was sad she couldnt do it on her new phone.
I saw a video on youtube, and its a g3 he's changing the theme

Seems like to get the theme option you should just be able to pull the launcher.apk out of another variants base rom and drop it on sysytem/app
If you root, you can reenable it with G3 TweakBox.

Enable the secret menu under LG Launcher Tweaks. Then go to settings. Go to Display. Under the Home screen settings, scroll down. You'll see a hidden menu. Tap on it. Scroll until you see FEATURE_USE_THEME. Check it off and reboot. Bam!

Album/Galley apps

Can anyone recommend any galley apps that are as close to the Samsung one as possible? Or is there a way to get the stock album app to display folders on startup instead of all files?
I've been with samsung for sooooo long and I loved their setup, just fancied a change, and this Z5 premium just looked too good, such a smart looking device, it's the only thing that's annoying me at the moment is this Album/Galley setup ?

Tap on settings, Data usage and then Data saver.. Turn it on and then tap on "Allow unrestricted data usage" then tap on the 3 little dots in the top right corner and select show system apps then go through the list and uncheck anything you don't want using a lot of data without permission.. Package disabler can also be used to disable an app entirely like the other poster said. I think turning on Data saver is better first though so you know what else is on.
This is for Android N by the way.

Thanks for the reply. I'm the other poster. The question I'm really trying to ask is, is that a true system app or is it some other app with a system app icon? That's why P.D.P. gives the option to uninstall. I don't think P.D.P. can uninstall a true system app.

No it's not a real app, or not a needed app anyways! I don't have that on any Samsung that I have and yours is using way way wayyy to much internet and power! I'd get rid of that if I were you!! None of my file managers have ever needed to use any internet like that!! I use root explorer!
Thanks. I uninstalled it! I'm gonna ODIN Nobarb's full package for a fresh install.
