Lollipop Quick Glance?? - Galaxy Note 3 Neo Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

In Lollipop, in settings (Settings-sounds and notifications-notification access) there is the option to enable Quick Glance!
Has anyone found what exactly is doing this option if enable it?
Because as known "Samsung Quick Glance" operation doesn't seem to work...
And if in remember right, is disabled by default.

Quick access to Rotate screen

Hello,
Quick question. After I flashed the QPE rom on M8 there seems to be no quick way to access the "Auto Rotate Screen" except by going through the settings --> display.
I tried to download widgets from playstore but they didn't work.
Does anyone know any solution?
Thanks,
Anyone have a solution?

Hi, Punira...
Have you tried this...
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=kennethcheng.com.autorotate
Used it for three years on a variety of Android devices, and it works on my stock M8.
Rgrds,
Ged.
Thanks!
Thanks,
This works great!!
Can't you use the quick setting panel? Pull down the notification panel with 2 fingers will take you immediately there & tap "Auto Rotate". If Auto Rotate is not, you should be able to edit the shortcuts & add it (at least in stock form).

Correct... He could just have removed one of the less important quick settings and added the auto rotate. Like DND, something that I personally never used and probably won't, so might as well remove that one and add auto rotate.

Yeah... this is a more elegant solution to the one I posted earlier. Just wasn't sure if the OPs Custom ROM would allow it.
@Punira
Afraid I don't know anything about the QPE rom you have installed... but if it's anything like HTC Sense factory stock, you should be able to edit the quick settings tiles.
See my attached screenshots... pull down the quick settings tiles (with two fingers on stock) and tap on the edit button, circled in red in my attached screenshot.
You can then drag'n'drop tiles accordingly... including adding the Auto-Rotate tile .
Hope this helps... and good luck.

Can we enable smart settings since root is available?

Has anyone been able to enable smart settings? I'm using tasker but it'd be nice to fart around with smart settings

Enable system ui tuner?

Is it possible to enable the system ui tuner on this phone? I have looked online and followed the instructions. I tapped and held the gear in the quick settings for as much as 30 seconds and it didn't enable. I saw another post that said you could enable it from the developer options. I looked there and there isn't an entry or setting for it. The developer options are enabled and animations are enabled. I am using the Apex launcher. I tried to do from the TW launcher as well. Any ideas?

lockscreen notification for select apps

Is there a way I can choose which notification shows up on the lockscreen? Specifically I want to have only one app show notification on the lockscreen, but not others. In order to do that I have to disable notifications of all other apps. But I want other apps to show notification in the notification bar, just not on the lock screen. Any way to do this?

On nougat, theoretically yes. Go to settings -> notifications. Then click the settings gear at the top. Should give lock screen notification options of all, hide sensitive content, hide all.
I think you can hide all here, then go to the individual app you want to show, and change it to show for that specific app.
Never tried this myself. Ymmv.

Once I choose "don't show at all" under settings - notification, I cannot enable notification on the lockscreen for specific app. However doing the exact opposite might do the trick. Under settings - notification, I choose "show all contents", then for specific app, I can choose "don't show" on the lock screen. This is very tedious, but it might do what I want my phone to do...

Once you clicked don't show notification at all, click on a app or game that you want to display the notification in lockscreen.
Then click "On the lockscreen" then "show all notification content".
Hope this helps you.

Question Automatic Performance Mode

I wonder if it's somehow possible on the 9 Pro to enable the Performance mode faster?
I don't want to go to settings > battery > advanced to enable it...
Is there a way to enable it with a widget or a quick toggle?
Maybe you can use Tasker?
I've thought of this, but i can't find the syntax to enable/disable Performance mode.
I'm a graphics dude 🥹
If you select 'Custom setting' in Tasker I think you will be able to find performance mode. I'm on OOS 11 so I don't have that option but I think it's worth checking!
These are the profiles I created for use in my phone. Hope it works for you.
