How to tell if device is infected with malware? CN version - LeEco Le1 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi everyone. Long time lurker looking to get more involved in the modding game.
Recently I bought this phone from an Aliexpress seller. Its got Android 6.0.1 preloaded with EUI: 5.9.016S
So far I haven't found any problems with it, but I've read a few threads about malware being preinstalled. Is there a way to check for this, before I go loading it up with all my important details?

[Q] Kurio 7s

Hi all.
Apologies if I have posted this in the wrong area, I am quite new here.
I got my daughter a Kurio 7s tablet a few months ago, and I should have known better. Basically, it has became a nightmare to use due to the navigation and such. Basically, it's a mess and is running painfully slow.
Recently the Google Play Store became available for the device which was an added bonus, but it still isn't a great device. I was wondering if anyone knows of any custom roms (or even a standard android rom) which could be used to replace the awful Kurio stock rom which has been pre-loaded onto the device?
Also, it has been quite a while since I have rooted any devices (I rooted a Galaxy s2 a while ago) so my memory is a little foggy in that respect. I have learned by searching around that it is possible to root the Kurio.. I am just wondering really if there is more I can do after the root to make this a more pleasant tablet for my daughter.
Much thanks and again, I apologize if this is posted in the wrong area.

Rooting Sprint Galaxy s9

Hello all. I just finally picked up my new galaxy s9 a few hrs ago and in the process of transferring files /re downloading apps etc. When I went to login to xda on here for the first time it says I've already registered once
from my IP address.....I wasn't trying to register only login though....it then however let me create this new account? Lol. Anyone know how to fix that? My original login email is [email protected]
Anyways I've always used xda and guides posted here for all my rooting needs bcas I'm only moderately tech literate and have loved how the guides here have always been easy enough for me to follow successfully. I was unable to root my s7 apparently bcas of the firmware version...so I was excited to pick up my s9 tonight.
For some reason though when I'm searching for sm-g960u it's just showing its showing me posts here for the s3. Its probably this phone I'm already getting screwy little bugs and popups trying to navigate here ...another reason I want to root asap. Was just curious If anyone could link me whatever they think the most reputable guide for rooting this phone is.
My new phone :
Sprint sm-g960u galaxy s9
Android version 8.0.0 SDK 26
RF9 firmware
Sorry that I posted both problems (login and root problem) in same place...the root is my priority though. Thanks in advance and thanks to everyone who has worked on these guides and made years worth of rooting possible for people like me!
Or- if I can't find a guide here has anyone used or tried this method?
I usually only trust xda for these types of things so I'm hesitant to trust some other site....anyone know if legit?

Oops. New users can't post links...ugg..and can't get into my original account. Anyways the guide I was referring to is at
highonandroid.com/android-smartphones/how-to-root-galaxy-s9-or-s9-plus-exynos-supersu
The answer to your question lies in the model number itself...

The US models of the S9 with snapdragon are not rootable and probably never will be.

Cross flashed G710PM: Keep or return?

Hello all,
So, I'm in US and have Google Fi. Bought a G710ULM from ebay and when I get it, check IMEI and it comes back as an g710PM, not ULM. I specifically did research here on xda (lurker for many yrs ) so knew I wanted an ULM. I see many threads about this is common practice of cross flashing the PM's to ULM, and get conflicting info with what works and what doesn't: things like Google Pay, no OTA updates (flashing thru LGUP is only option). The only issue I have is wifi calling does not work, it gets ER081, which is not a deal killer, but is still a handy feature to have. Have found posts from others with the wifi issues, and it seems to be on an issue on older Oreo ROMS, which mine has (pic below). So I could potentially just flash to the latest ULM Fi Pie ROM and it might/probably resolve this, but I'd still not have Google Pay (possibly might work, conflicting info) and no OTA updates still (not sure if Fi pushes OTA honestly). I've emailed the seller, laying all this out, and saying I could flash an update but not before he said that he would not blame me for anything not working. Still waiting on his reply. But sleeping on it overnight, I think I just want to return the friggin thing and try to find a REAL ULM. I'm not trying to be a d*ckhead about this, but I wanted an actual ULM, not a cross-flashed phone, as I did my research here about what best to buy. Apologies, was a bit of a rant. So am I worrying about nothing here and a flash will getting it good or do I have valid concerns here? Thanks all for this awesome community.
What did you do? Irritated that I didn't discover the problem for 9 months on my phone.
I just got one on eBay & this post got me up to the current ULM 20e: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=81131579&postcount=247

How to correct broken root issue on OnePlus 7T T-Mobile HD1907

2 or 3 days ago (I’m presently in the hospital, after a few days, the days start to run together) I rooted my phone and confirmed rooting with app on my OP7T on my way to installing rooted Kali Nethunter. Yesterday I wake up after surgery to see my younger cousin dicking around my OP7T, he thought he was being helpful updating android to 12… I’ve sin managed to find an msm download tool with TMO that rolled back to 10.013.HD63CB… but I’m in a bit of a weird middle ground… and I’m sure the pain meds have made things worse… causing me to forget somethings… but atm I have access to the bootloader but OEM unlocking is off/greyed out, how do I fix this so I can root the phone again and/or perhaps swap T-Mobile for global… I hate that damn pink screen. I bought the phone is brand new, I’m not using it as a phone atm and don’t have plans to atm either… the phone is not currently T-Mobile unlocked either…
How to Convert OnePlus 7T T-Mobile
HD19
07 to Global Firmware OxygenOS 11.0.9.1
I'm not likely to be going home at any time in the next week or 2 and I’d love to have my OP7T continue to be my project for the duration of my stay, how do I correct w/e my cousin did, finish re”rooting” my OP7T, unbrand so I can kiss that ugly pink screen goodbye… any and all help would be tremendously appreciated.
Regards,
-Ethan
(hope I didnt leave anything out…)
I’d love to be helpful here but I bought a refurbished T-mobile 1907 oneplus 7T and am actively trying to search updated directions on him to root since all the guides I’ve found say to use fast boot but the advanced boot option has since been removed from developer settings. Hope you get better and you’ve got a link with what direction I should go if much appreciate it.
This may be along the lines of one of the things you were looking to do. https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...to-global-firmware-oxygenos-11-0-9-1.4558889/
