Flashing instructions:
ATTENTION
Some versions of TWRP, such as 2.8.7.1 have issues flashing radio files, unless you find a version which has this patched. Also, BaNks GApps has announced that they are not supporting TWRP versions older than v3.0.0.0, so It is suggested to use TWRP v3.0.2.X and up going forward.
You may need to flash a recent CM14 Nightly to get the newest firmware before flashing this.
Coming from another ROM, OR if a CLEAN FLASH is required
1) Download the Slim7 zip file (See Post #2)
2) Download a 7.X GApps package (optional - See Post #2)
3) Boot into recovery (TWRP)
4) Full wipe (Dalvik Cache, Cache, System, Factory Data Reset)
5) Flash the Slim7 zip file
6) Flash Nougat-compatible GApps
7) Reboot
Updating from previous Slim7 release if no clean flash is required
1) Download the Slim7 zip file (See Post #2)
2) Boot into recovery (TWRP)
3) Flash the Slim7 zip file
4) Reboot
5) Please give first boot a good few minutes
IMPORTANT - PROBLEMS/ISSUES:
If you have issues, I need the following:
Logs from you (logcat, last_kmsg, dmesg) linked to on pastebin.com or hasteb.in, showing the failure.
A clear description of the steps that I need to take to exactly reproduce the problem.
Please DO NOT complain about problems and offer nothing to help fix it. I reserve the right to ignore you for not following insructions...

I suspect that the answer is negative, but anyway: is this ROM pre-rooted? Are people using SuperSU or phh's Superuser?

For those people who are interested and maybe feed for the OP :

Well, this is not AOSP, although it is based upon it.
If you want Google apps, you need to flash GApps. The small GApps packages will get you Play Store, where you can install whatever other apps you want.
The same right now for rooting. If you want root, flash SuperSU.
Don't forget that at this time, this is a test version. :victory:

The AOSParadox Project 2.1
What's CodeAurora Forums ?
Code Aurora Forum (CAF) is a consortium of companies with projects serving the mobile wireless industry. Software projects it concerns itself with are e.g. Android for MSM, Femto Linux Project, LLVM, MSM WLAN and Linux-MSM. Code Aurora is basically AOSP plus all Qualcomm specific enhancements and optimization.
What's AOSParadox Project ?
AOSParadox is a vanilla ROM. Our goal is to pick the least amount of commits possible on AOSP code. While trying to add features, when CodeAurora provide us with chipset's specific sources ?
At the opposite of most of ROMs that you can find, the trees are made by ourselves to be integrated in this new ROM type.
What should I be aware of ?
Everything is custom and made to work with CodeAurora Forum's sources so custom kernels won't boot (ramdisk is different, selinux rules too, ...).
Extra features
Code:
- Snapdragon camera
- Compatible with layer themes
What doesn't work ?
Code:
- Tell us
Downloads :

How to install ?
1) Place ROM & Gapps in your virtual SD
2) Reboot in Bootloader Mode
3) Go to "Recovery"
4) Wipe Data/Factory Reset
5) Wipe Dalvik cache
6) Install the ROM zip
7) Install the Gapps

Code:
Most of you would want to skip to Step 1.3 as that's why I created this post and everything else is almost similar. If this works out (especially 1.3), please give me feedback.[/B]
[B]1.1 [U]Enabling softkeys:[/U] [/B]
1. Make sure you have got / & /system mounted as rw.
2. Go to device/system/build.prop.
3. Scroll down to the extreme bottom.
4. Add this line there :
[I]qemu.hw.mainkeys=0[/I]
5. Save the file and reboot. (To be sure that it has got enabled and we're gonna disable the hard-keys in the next step.)
[B]1.2 [U]Disabling the Hardware keys:[/U] [/B]
1. Go to Device/system/usr/keylayout/generic.kl.
2. Scroll down and find the following keys and add # before each of them.
It should then look like this:
# key 139 MENU
# key 158 BACK
# key 172 HOME
3. Save and Reboot.
[B]Alternatively[/B] you can go set the long press and short press of the hard keys to "No action" from settings , in newer builds. (But [B]back button would still work though[/B])
[B]1.3 [U]Disabling the backlight of the HW keys:[/U] (Permanent as long as a systemless SuperSU is available.)[/B]
1. Download this :- [url]https://www.dropbox.com/s/lbx8fogscy8v0xc/DisableSoftkeysBacklight?dl=0[/url]
2. Have [B]a systemless version of [user=631273]@Chainfire[/user] 's SuperSU flashed [/B] (very important)
3. Go to /su/su.d
4. Paste the "DisableSoftkeysBacklight" you downloaded inside su.d
5. Change permissions of the file (Give Owner read, write and execute permissions.)
6. Now reboot.

I found it odd that CAF task manager and CAF appops weren't there. Is this strictly CAF when it comes to just the kernel?

Yep. Pretty much as CAF as Sultan's kernel is. And nope. No app opps or task manager here. We've kinda stuck to as less bloat as we can manage.
ROM working fine on Multirom (secondary). Its always good to see a new ROM surface
@Quasar then would you mind removing all of those really outdated AOSP apps that are really useless? xD
Also I don't know about you.. but I'd think that CAF App ops is extremely useful.

Well, it's just gallery, browser and music. Also, CAF App Ops needs some commits that we don't want to use. You could download App Ops from the play store, though.

Tyr doesn't boot and ak loses WiFi too..

Don't really need those anymore since Google fixed the systemupdateservice wakelock. I haven't been on this for a full cycle yet, but on falcon, the SOT almost doubled with this ROM, so I don't think you'd need anything.

Yay more AOSPs.
Pretty smooth ROM. I would love to see some basic features being added.
Thanks a lot for this great ROM.
@Quasar
Will you add the backup functionalities on addon.d in the future? Or it will stay as it is?
This is exactly what we need! Looking forward to this ROM and if you don't mind ,just a suggestion.. Please don't add any "extra" features such as app side bar app circle bar, floating window etc.
Battery life is too good on this ...
Network traffic and this will be the dream!

This ROM uses one heck of a lot of modules. Including prima wich isn't build "in-kernel" anymore (this way we always use the latest one and we match caf format)

If there are outdated... Why wouldn't we update it simply?
The ROM (on all the concerned devices) is quiet young. Once we added a few features (clean all task) and fixed all the bugs. We will start working apps by ourselves.

It will stay as it is to match CAF as much as we can.
Status bar says 3g even though it says lte in quick settings and no lights on capacitive keys. An option for softkeys would be awesome if possible. I also tried to flash open gapps stock package and I got an error that there wasn't enough room on system. I guess it's an error in the updater script. Works fine in CM. Thanks for the ROM I've been waiting for something like this for a while.
There are three major bugs listed and you are calling it stable?

Change log is In-ROM, under Settings>About phone>About Candy>Changelog
If you find a boot loop, try the following:
Grab the latest Magisk uninstaller and installer from the Magisk Official Release Thread.
Flash the Magisk uninstaller
Boot up the ROM to verify that Magisk was causing the boot loop.
Reboot to recovery, flash the Magisk installer, and reboot.
This ROM currently has LineageOS blobs, BUT has OOS camera blobs and a customized kernel to work with Sultan's camera HAL. There is no guarantee that you can flash another kernel and have a working camera, but I'd like to hear what works or not with this in the thread.
The ROM is SELinux Enforcing,
The OOS camera blobs are currently v1.X. Please don't ask for v3.X ones. If I have time, I may look at it but for now I have no plans to do so.
It's pre-rooted with SuperSU. Rooting options are being discussed...
How to Enable/Disable HwKey Lights:
Several have asked about this. I am working on an in-ROM setting for this, but for now you can do it manually if you like.
If you decide to try/use the following instructions, please understand that you do this entirely at your own risk!
Open adb or the terminal emulator app and issue the following commands to start a shell with root access. Copy/paste or type the commands, one line at a time, and EXACTLY as they are shown. Press ENTER after each command.
(Be sure to accept any Superuser root access prompts you receive while doing this.)
Code:
adb shell
su root
Now issue one of the following:
To DISABLE Hardware Touch Key LIGHTS:
Code:
su -c 'echo 0 > /sys/class/leds/button-backlight/max_brightness'
To ENABLE Hardware Touch Key LIGHTS:
Code:
su -c 'echo 255 > /sys/class/leds/button-backlight/max_brightness'
Not Working/Not Present (yet):
Long press volume music tracks Works
Some last-app shortcuts (the menu key seems to have issues with this)
*Just following the redundant, wow, 11/10 trend*
Just as a heads up, it appears that the download link for the ROM has an extra h in front.
I will try this as soon as possible though

Super
Wow, great to see Candy back, was one of my favourites roms :victory:
Wonderful, can't wait to flash this
Thanks @NoSpamDan (Y)
Dan did it again! (lol)
Rock solid and buttery smooth.
I'd say smoothest nougat rom i've tested.
Great work!
Can't wait to see more features included... Battery bar would be great!
One thing I don't like is the dark theme, wish there would be the stock one instead.

Me either really, but you can leave it set to the stock light UI and use an OMS7 theme to get dark mode if you like... I use Swift Dark usually, or modernui or Divinity... Swift Dark is my go to... although that one is paid.
Time to back up , loved candy 6. Flashing this tonight :good:

FAQ:
Before using the ROM:
Q. Can I have an ETA for the next build?
A. Yes, just look in the OP to see if your device is built on a nightly or weekly schedule.
Q. Does this ROM support custom kernels?
A. No. You can still use them, but discussion should go in the thread of the respective kernel. We don't offer support for bugs you might encounter while using them!
Q. Why doesn't this ROM support Xposed?
A. Xposed is a hack that is geared towards AOSP, custom ROM's modify the framework a lot, so Xposed can cause a ton of issues on custom ROM's. Now it might work for you, however it is not to be discussed in this thread, and you should refrain from posting bug reports.
Q. Alright, but I still want to flash Xposed, so which version do I need to install?
A. You will need to use the version arm64/arm/whatever for SDK 27.
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the install instructions in the first post...
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, however make a nandroid backup first as there is a chance of getting a bootloop or encountering bugs. Also bugs may only be reported on a clean flash.
Q. How do I dirty flash builds?
A. Wipe the System, Cache and ART/Dalvik cache. Flash the ROM, GApps (only needed if you wipe the system), your preferred root solution and reboot. Or just use the OTA app to preform that task for you.
Q. How do I flash kernel builds?
A1. If it's a .img file, boot into TWRP and go to the install page in TWRP, in the bottom right corner select "install image", select the desired kernel, then select "boot", then swipe to flash, then go back to the install screen and install your root method again, if you don't want to loose root and reboot.
A2. If it's a flashable ZIP, you can flash it together with a ROM update or separately. Go to the install page in TWRP, choose the kernel zip (or add it to the flash queue right after the ROM zip). Then add your root method to the queue if you don't want to loose root. Now swipe to flash, and then reboot.
Using the ROM:
Q. I installed a bad theme and now I'm getting a bootloop, how do I fix it?
A. In TWRP, flash the substratum rescue zip that's in the substratum folder on the internal storage.
Q. Do I need to provide a logcat if I'm reporting a bug?
A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat. (Note: Please just link the logcat from your GDrive, Dropbox, etc. and do not post the content here. Thanks.
Q. How do I get a logcat, what type should I get and more questions that can conveniently be answered by my pre-determined answer?
A1. Read this thoroughly. Also, here's a good app for getting logs: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tortel.syslog (Root needed).
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android. You don't need to install any Add-on's, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
- Backup your personal data (Important)
- Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device.
- Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended).
- Wipe the System, Cache, Data and ART/Dalvik cache.
- Flash the ROM + Gapps Zipfile.
- Flash the root solution of your choice (optional).
- Reboot your device.
The ROM has GApps persistence in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once!
The root solution should be flashed together with every update (= ROM Update)
Currently Supported Root Solutions:
Magisk stable
Magisk versions higher than 14.0 doesn't require flash on every dirty flash depending on the device, some devices need you to flash it every time, unless your maintainer says otherwise it should be fine

Bug reporting:
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab dmesg . (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues.

This will be official soon :highfive:
I'm really liking this ROM now that it is updated. GPS works, so I can use it. Fingerprint enrollment does not work, though, on a clean install with no Magisk. Also, and I don't think this is your fault, but I can only view this thread on a browser on my PC. There is some kind of URL parsing error when I try with the XDA Labs app on my phone.

Fingerprint works if you apply the solution mentioned in thread of crdroid pie. I did it and mine is working fine as before.
That's not working for me. I'll probably resort to dirty flashing it over a Nougat or Oreo build.
Couldn't customize navigation bar or hide it. Missing Expanded desktop tool. All others are working fine.
We're official!

I can't seem to find the settings to enable the built-in dark theme. There is an option to enable "Black AF" when in dark mode, but no toggle for dark mode. Am I looking in the wrong place (display settings), or is it not there?
2/24 OTA update is out!
https://ota.aosiprom.com/kiwi
Changelog:
Code:
Settings: change default night light brightness
SystemUI: Show bluetooth battery level when available
WeatherClient: miscellaneous improvements
SEPolicy updates
Removed quick unlock (buggy for longer pins)
Automatic translation import
SmartActions backend support
Actions: Add ringer modes
CustomActions: Add ringer modes
BlackAF: bring inline with recent changes to dark
Add Wellbeing BlackAF theme
Support system-as-root A-only backuptool
Telephony: Support muting by RIL command
ConsumerIR: Support Huawei's DSP chip implementation
RIL: Allow overriding RadioResponse and RadioIndication
CustomActions: Add support to launch applications
SquishyNavbar: If power saver is on, don't allow feedback
CustomActions: Screen off availability
ActionUtils: Add screen on action
Properly add TurboPrebuilt and updated Wellbeing
SystemUI: fix landscape powermenu layout
Add busybox
Fingerprint enrollment worked with clean install (yay), and dark theme toggle was there. Then I realized it had been missing because substratum was installed (duh), so that was never a bug.
I found that Cast crashes System UI upon trying to connect to a wireless display, just like it used to happen on Arrow OS ROM. Hope you're so kind as to fix it like you did it for Arrow. I'm attaching my logcat to this post, just in case.

Goes without saying but, truly appreciate your work bringing a variety of really cool ROMs to this phone!
---------- Post added at 08:26 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:06 PM ----------
And for you guys who are wondering whether you should switch over to this ROM, I say it's a close cousin of Arrow and crDroid and Lineage and whatnot, in terms of overall look and feel, the merit being it contains even less system apps (not even a basic music player app or a browser) which translates to about 1GB more free storage compared to crDroid. It has fair amount of customization available but not as customizable as crDroid. (that one is pure gold when it comes to UI tweak options) What's more I get the feeling AOSiP is more responsive comparatively and the UI lag is less here, but I might just be imagining things.

AICP
Android Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as the "Ice Cold Project" that started on a Desire HD years ago (2012) and since then has evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community that you can find!!!
Until Android Lollipop, the ROM has always been based on AOKP. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development (but made a comeback later), we changed our base to CM.
With the re-brand of CM to LineageOS (LOS), we became LineageOS based with some tweaks from AOSP and then changed to be based on the "Ground Zero Open Source Project" (GZOSP) for Android Pie.
We changed again for Android Q-R with a base of AOSP repositories and some additions from LineageOS for device-specific repositories.
If there are any bugs we will sort them out if it concerns our codebase. This ROM isn't LineageOS supported, so there is no need to report errors/bugs to them!!

We recommend MindTheGapps as it has been thoroughly tested and it works well with the ROM, some other minimal GApps packages still have issues, however feel free to try other GApps if you want to, just try MindTheGapps if you have any GApps related issues

FAQ:
Before using the ROM:
Q. Can I have an ETA for the next build?
A. Yes, just look here to see what day your device is built on.
Q. Does this ROM support custom kernels officially?
A. No. You can still use them, but the discussion should go in the thread of the respective kernel. We don't offer support for bugs you might encounter while using them!
Q. Does this ROM include GApps or do I have to flash them separately?
A. No, we do not include prebuilt GApps, because of possible licensing issues with Google Software and because some users do not want GApps preinstalled as they want to use alternative services like MicroG or just prefer flashing a GApps "flavor" of their liking.
Q. Does this ROM use the camera or gallery app from stock?
A. It depends on the device. In most cases these apps include proprietary libs/code and cannot be included in the device trees on Github or we risk having the ROM banned from Github. In this case, we might try to make them installable (separate from the ROM zip), or we might provide a version of these apps with the ROM that doesn't include any proprietary libs. It's also sometimes the case that these apps are simply not included because we didn't feel the need to do so for the device in question.
Q. Does this ROM have Extended/Scrolling screenshot?
A. No, extended screenshot was implemented using an app extracted and modified from manufacturer firmware/system images and is proprietary as well. It led to the closing of many ROM's sources on GitHub.
Q. Does this ROM have FaceUnlock?
A. No, FaceUnlock was also an app extracted and modified from some manufacturers. Even Google removed the Trusted Face (FaceUnlock) feature for security reasons on Android 9.0/10.x. Adding the modified feature did the same to ROM sources as described above.
Q. Can you add (insert favorite weather provider)?
A. No, we cannot add more weather providers as the implementations change and we (the ROM) now have to pay for most services, and that is not cheap, so we decided to use the best free service that we could find, the only way to add your own is for users to apply for their own API key to use their preferred service.
Q. Does this ROM have private official builds with the above proprietary libs included?
A. No, we believe in open source software, this way users know what's in the build and can replicate it themselves, all official builds are built on our build servers using the public sources from github and no one can (or would) add their own private sources to the build.
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the flashing instructions...
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, this is the usual behavior on flashing a new official build by (or using) the build-in updater service.
Using the ROM:
Q. Do I need to provide a logcat if I'm reporting a bug?
A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat AND the model name. (Note: Please just link the logcat from your GDrive, Dropbox, etc. Do not post the content here. Thanks.)
Q. How do I get a logcat, what type should I get, and more questions that can conveniently be answered by my pre-determined answer?
A1. Read this thoroughly. Also, here's a good app for getting logs: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tortel.syslog (Root needed).
A2. If you are already rooted, you can use the built-in feature to make a logcat and provide that. Just look into the others section on the AICP Extras main page.
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android R. You don't need to install any Add-ons, simply download the latest ROM and GApps, then follow the flashing instructions and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM zip file.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup (or with any backup/restore app) as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug, restoring regular apps is fine though.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
How to flash for the first time:
(Again: Don't do it if you don't know!)
1. Download the AICP installation package that you would like to install or build the package yourself.
Optionally, download an application package add-on such as Google Apps (use the arm64 architecture).
2. If you are not in recovery, reboot into recovery:
With the device powered off, hold Volume Down + Power. Then use the menu to select Recovery Mode.
Now tap Factory Reset, then Format data / factory reset and continue with the formatting process. This will remove encryption and delete all files stored in the internal storage, as well as format your cache partition (if you have one).
Return to the main menu.
3. Sideload the AICP .zip package:
On the device, select “Apply Update”, then “Apply from ADB” to begin sideload.
On the host machine, sideload the package using: adb sideload filename.zip.
4. (Optionally): If you want to install any add-ons, click Advanced, then Reboot to Recovery, then when your device reboots, click Apply Update, then Apply from ADB, then adb sideload filename.zip those packages in sequence.
NOTE: If you want the Google Apps add-on on your device, you must follow this step before booting into AICP for the first time!

WOW. I'm surprised. Most of the rom existed in HTC HD or later were discontinued. The logo reminds me the good old days. LOL
Do I need to upgrade to stock A11 before flashing this? I'm on a custom A10 rom at the moment. Thanks!

My device was on 11 when i started with it, didn't test your scenario myself so i'm not quite sure..
I think it should work when coming from 10 custom ROM, but cannot confirm at this time.
Maybe someone can check this and let me know?
One more question - does this ROM have an option to enable left/right keyboard cursors on the Nav Bar during text input? Thanks!

Finally got it done! Flashing went smooth (didn't do update to Android 11 stock, flashed straight on top of custom A10 ROM), root and setup smooth, all main features are working fine; even Revolut and google pay are fine Thank You!
The only problem is Google camera, it refuses to launch :-( I did try play store version, did try moded one with same result - back to home screen with no time… Should GCam work on this rom? Default camera app is working OK.

logcat attached.
P.S.: PX Camera (gcam mod) is working! Didn't test advanced functions, but at least it starts and makes pictures

Been using this for a few days with Mindthegapps and everything works so far except the camera, but PX Camera does work. Wifi calling, VoLTE, bluetooth, google pay all work. Magisk passes SafetyNet. The only minor issues I've found are:
When I first tried to change the statusbar clock to center aligned, it disappeared. Tried again later and it worked, so not sure what happened.
I am running dark theme with Base Theme, QS Style, and Notifications all set to Gray. The notifications on the lock screen are still black... however if I swipe them down a few pixels, they turn gray.
Loving the extra customization this has coming from DU, going to be the new daily driver.
It would be nice to have a separate download for the boot.img so we don't have to extract it on every update, but not a big deal.

Thanks for using AICP.
So far I have no solution for PlayStore GCam crashes. Still investigating.. Please use PX or any other working GCam mod for now.
Statusbar clock alignment should be fixed afaik. Check with current weekly build.
Black / gray lockscreen color change i just reproduced myself. Weird.. Thx for reporting this, gonna check it out with our theming guy.
It is not required to extract boot.img from payload on every update:
- Install OTA from AICP Extras (it will install in inactive slot)
- Do not reboot after OTA installation, instead go to Magisk Manager Install section and select "install in inactive slot"
- Procedure verified with last 2 OTA updates and working fine
why can't you just provide the boot.img? I would rather not install python just for this one purpose.
I flashed stock 11 and can't sideload the latest zip.
image-sargo-rq2a.210305.006
so its not even the latest. I even tried the latest. what stock image should I be using? and should there be a non-stock recovery used?

Boot Image download link added to OP
Updates this week:
- new APN configs added for Sprint
- kernel updated to current version 4.9.276
- added UI blur effects (toggle in AICP Extras)
- system wakelock / alarm blocker switch in developer options
- Camera PX included (credits to cstark27, see here for more information)
Been using this rom since the beginning and dirty flashing all the updates. Started having some freezing issues and eventually bootloop on the latest build so I decided to factory reset. It fixed all my issues.
However I was using a 6x6 unlock pattern before with Google backup turned on. After the clean flash, I tried restoring from the backup. It asked for my unlock pattern to decrypt the backup, but it only offered a 3x3 pattern. So I was not able to restore the backup and had to redo everything. I think that's more on the Gapps side rather than the rom, but just a warning to anyone using more than 3x3 dots unlock pattern.
