It is a "passive infrared motion sensor (PIR)" used for low light photography with the camera.

No, as I mentioned above, it has an Infrared Sensor at the back, located near the camera.
There is no IR blaster

Does anybody here use this phone?
SOrry for noob question but does it support video calling?
Or WP7 does not support it ATM?
And what are these 3 sensors in front of it?
No WP7 device currently has video calling. The lens you're seeing is probably the proximity sensor, which detects if your face is up to the phone and shuts off the screen so you don't accidentally press something.

Yeah but there are 3 there. Two similar and one deeper looking like camera.....
I have the Optimus 7 and it doesn't have a camera at the front. None of the WP7 devices out there has a front facing camera and I guess that's because video calling isn't supported.

One will be a proximity sensor, one will be a light sensor for automatic brightness and no idea on the third.

Hope I can link it
That's the vid.
Never seen that LED before... From what I know its not meant to have a LED there.

Looks like an IR-LED which might be the proximity sensor.
Edit: Tested it and the CM3602 proximity sensor reacts within 2 cm above the IR-LED.
It looks like the proximity sensor. Get another camera phone and have a look at your DHD from the other camera while making a call. The IR led will switch on.

Ahh that'd make sense. Most digital cameras shift the colour of IR to visible spectrum. It's always fun showing this on laptops of unsuspecting people.

It's the proximity sensor. Cameras can pick up light into the IR wavelengths, which are not visible to the naked eye.
Point your camera at the end of your TV remote and press a couple of channel buttons... See it light up!
If you have some exposed photographic film, cut a couple of pieces just larger than your camera lens, turn one 90 degrees to the other and tape them over your camera lens. It won't pick up visible light, but it'll still catch Infra-red. Instant night-vision camera! Requires IR light to work, obviously
my prefered method to test tv remotes (or the batteries in it )

Haha thank you all!

Learnt new thing.
Not about the exposed film but about the camera picking up the IR...

Selfie quality

You're beautiful and everyone knows it. That's why you take selfies. Rate this thread to express how the front-facing camera of the Honor 8 performs. A higher rating indicates that the front camera produces fantastic results consistently.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
I am very impress by the selfie quality...it comes with some nice little neat features that I have come to enjoy....if you use snapchat camera, you will feel right at home. Honor is aiming to attract the "younger" generations and the selfie camera does JUST that. But hey, if you are not into smoothing out those wrinkles, shrinking your cheeks, making your eyes "pop" and detect your "good" side, a simple snap will be just fine.

I am glad that I'm not a selfie guy, the front camera is the last thing I worry about on a smartphone.

The front facing selfie camera is OK. I wouldn't say that it's the best selfie camera that I have seen on a mobile device. But then again most flagship selfie camera sensors aren't very good ether.

Rear holes

I know that on the back there are one main camera, two secondary cameras, one flash.... But what about the other hole? What is it?

It's just a gimmick so Xiaomi tricks others to think that your phone has a penta camera setup
Looool thanks!
