Is it possible to root my LG G4 from Verizon on Android 6.0 (software version VS98626A)
I've searched and either I'm inept or there is no definitive answer to my question.
Also, please forgive me if this is a bad place to post

Strictly no. It Is not possible. They have the boot loader locked and Android 5.1 is the only way.

Has anyone been able to capture the original OTA file from Verizon? I am on Straight Talk with my Verizon LG G4 and I would really like to be able to update my phone to Marshmallow. I would like to know if I can get the OTA file and find out where to put it on my phone so that I can upgrade.

I hate to ask, but did you check the forums? The Verizon LG G4 has only a few active threads, the OTA file being one of them.

Hello there i have couple of question if any one please answer me
first iam new to lg g4 my previous device was lg g3 international version D855 i was upgrading downgrading rooting easily because there is no bootloader at all , now i get the lg g4 model number H815 Software version v20c-SEA-XX came with pre loaded Android 6
i tried to unlock the bootloader after some reading but no avail , its cant be unlocked not supported
now i try at least to root it and enjoy some xposed modules + viper4android but really dont know what to do
my quesions
can i root my lg g4 with android 6 (MM) ? If that possible can you link me please , if i cannot root ,can i downgrade to Android 5(lp) without brick my device and root it

Dont know aboit downgrade some of them have anti rollback. And cant root marshmallow without bl unlock. So far g4 is a dead end in development

using KDZ file and LGUP as long as its okey to downgrade on mine tmobile h811 we have antirollback.. so first you got to make sure search and read. if people have downgrade.. they are in atiroll version V0-V1-V2-V3 so if you in V3 you cant do back to V1-2 if your phone doesnt allow you to.. as am not sure but i think some phones have 0 always. meaning it doesnt matter.
I have the Canadian G4 which is H812 and there is no anti-rollback features. Check out the Canadian thread under the G4 general forum for more information and instructions on rooting. For downgrade you can use the files from that Canadian G4 thread but if you search for the LGUP thread there are good instructions for downgrading using that program which some have said is safer and less risk of brick.
